This series might've been better if Sky wasn't such a pathetic ass weakling. She's useless and does nothing but cry and feel sorry for herself. She's so fucking timid that the boys have to baby her all the time and it's annoying as hell. She needs to grow some balls. And it's obvious that so many secrets are being kept from her and she knows but doesn't push for the truth. Just sits there and accepts everything because the guys are hot.
Lil weak ass bitch.

Also, Foster is the worst love interest ever. He's so boring and plain and was an asshole to her until he found out she's the only person he can be with. So now he's all over her, riding her dick all the damn time. I don't want to hear any shit like he likes her for who she is and not what she is because that's bs. He's into her because she's pretty and she's the only person he would be able to fuck without killing them. Period. No one undergos such an immediate personality change like that unless there's a reason. This issue was brought up a few times but never truly confronted because Sky is a weak ass bitch and Foster is a boring, lying ass bitch.

But on another note, why the fuck does everything have to be reverse harem. Literally every book I see these days and it's annoying. I thought it wasn't going to be, but literally like all the guys have a hard on for Sky because apparently being pathetic is adorable? Idk. But not everybody wants to read about five different guys fucking the same girl all the time. I hope everyone involved in some RH gets an STD because that's what they get for being annoying and invading every book I read.

I might be reading the next book only because Porter fascinates me.

While I enjoyed this one I enjoyed it less that Enchanting Chaos. While the story progresses the guys keep more and more secrets. It got to be rather annoying how small things would be said and then dismissed or Sky would be distracted from getting answers. I get that she may be overwhelmed if she knew everything that was going on but the secrets they’re keeping directly impact her. I also missed her best friends from book 1.
Fost is proving to be a good hero but he’s bordering on being too secretive. I liked that he revealed to Sky that he liked her before they had their initial run in. It helped Sky, and the reader, to believe his feelings and complete 180 are genuine.
Not too much is expanded on the siblings but due to an occurrence I’m wondering if JS is gonna turn this into a RH or if the other pieces of the Gods will be paired up with a brother like Sky and Fost. I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to it being an RH but I think there’s more to the brothers and that while Sky is a perfect match for Fost she may not be perfect for the others.
Obviously I’ll be continuing because it’s a very interesting storyline and I do really like the characters.

Enchanted Chaos

I'm confused about many things. Is this a reverse harem book or what? Is Porter a power source too? How is this all going to work? Ehhh 2.75 stars: I may not revisit this series.

Beginning to look like a RH set up but I'm hoping not. That would ruin it for me. There has been enough of RH books lately.

Just a bit blah. The merging thing went nowhere and the world-building isn't the most exciting.

Book 2 Got Whiney

I liked book one, but like others, I feel book 2 was a step down. The main character seems to spend all her time crying, asking questions that we already have the answers to, or being rescued. Her constant need for approval and compliments is annoying, and her complete helplessness is ridiculous. For a person who essentially raised herself, she's now incapable of doing almost anything on her own. Color me irritated. Oh, and the first two books collectively cover about a week of her life - the story drags into so much daily detail that it fails to make her emotional attachments to this family believable.

Also, I am fairly certain this is turning into a reverse harem, which it was NOT billed as. That is a pet peeve of mine. I will read book 3 because I am hoping we get back to book 1 quality and drop this multiple partners stuff. There are already enough tropes in this series that it doesn't need the reverse harem trope added in.

I have to say this story is starting to get really good. I still have so many questions about everything!!! Now we know who sky is but this weird connection to all the brothers is freaking me out! I really hope this isn’t. Reverse harem because I will end the book right away. I hope that the connection is repaired and that’s that! I hope whatever the darkness is that it’s not something stupid like most books end up being. So I will be reading as I am totally intrigued

This was actually better than the first one. the characters were better defined and I liked the interactions between them.
I will definitely go on to read the next one and see what happens.
I'm still not sure if this is a very slow burn RH or not because nothing major has happened on the relationship part.

I'm totally loving this! Jessica sure knows how to create a very interesting and absorbing magic world! All the characters are so captivating and the story so engaging that you tell like you want to be there! It's AWESOME!!! I'll admit than I'm getting very confused about a few stuff and a some people in the story (namely Porter and Hunter and all the purring), and I'm seriously hoping for some very good explanations on the last book and also that something is done about this weird platonic harem!

Oh no

I absolutely loved the first book in the series and wanted to see where the story was going. I think it's going towards a reverse harem and that makes me sad. The romance is awkward at best and cringeworthy at worst.
The book is super quick to read and both could be combined into one easily. I will read the third but I don't have high hopes.

I think I know why I stopped reading JS a while ago. It was too much of the same. I don’t really know what to say about this book. It seems like it is an RH but since nothing sexual actually happens I’m still unsure. Its a lot of ‘looks’.

We don’t really find out whats going on and there are more questions than answers by the end of this story. I think I must have been wearing rose colored glasses while reading the first one. The characters don’t seem to evolve and I did notice that this covers only a week of actual time. So I’m having a hard time swallowing how fast everything seems to be going. A real hard time.

There’s a lot of action and epiphany’s in this book for Skylin, but she doesn’t seem to know what to do with them. She doesn’t ask the questions that we, the reader, need to know. This makes it hard to relate to her and even like her. Because she is coming off as weak for losing focus and getting caught up in her feelings for the boys. This is supposed to be life and death and all she seems to think about are the boys. It doesn’t add up.

Also, this storyline is forgettable, cliche and ends the same way as the first one. Once I can forgive, twice….I don’t know. Maybe I will read the next one. I’m on the fence, its annoying but I hate giving up and the books are short enough. I guess I’ll have to re-evaluate when the third one comes out. Hope its a trilogy.

Sky the headache

Guyssssss...ugh, seriously I'm not sure what this author is trying to do, but if it's to p*** me off then she's doing a excellent job (deadpan look). I absolutely love this freaking book, this storyline is fantastic. I love the guys as well even though we don't get all of them much in this read which is truly sad and really sucks. So why the low star ratings you ask? Sky! I can't stand this broad, she is utterly useless. This chick and her self loathing, is borderline attention seeking if you ask me. , poor me, I can't do it, it's hard, "breathing hard, I'm scared" ugh, I was like freaking Christ someone give her a Xanax or something. And you would think with everything she finds out she would take it as is, no not this princess, she has a freaking meltdown/breakdown for everything. I mean Jesus lady you've been creating storms with you're emotions! How hard is it to believe everything? Honestly sky's characters drags this book in the mud, her character literally makes this entire book series s***, and that's saying a lot. I'm not sure if I want to finish this series, it takes a lot of mental stability to have to read this enormous mess that sky is.

I really can’t believe this left me on a cliff like that. I’m pissed this is a really good book and I would defiantly recommend it if you like that cute but sort of turning into a haram sort of books. Feel like a lot of drama is bout to pop off wit Porter and I’m ready for it, always ready for drama.

Disappointed

I was really intrigued with the characters, storyline and world the author created in book one. I also liked that Sky was determined to keep her norm friends. This book, I don’t know if the novelty was already wearing thin or I was irritated by the direction the book took, but I didn’t enjoy it as much. Most of the guys are missing from the storyline for a good portion of the story. Then Sky is always confused, panicked, lustful, blushing or overwhelmed. Wash, rinse and repeat. Also, the fact withholding got on my nerves. This impacts Sky’s life. She should know these things, but she also needs to get herself together so everyone doesn’t feel they can’t tell her things because she can’t handle it. Finally, when this started it seemed like it was going to be a phenomenal paranormal RH, but it seems like the author isn’t clear she wants this to be so or she’s trying to steer us to the possibility of partnering the other guys to the other people with god powers. In my opinion, I hope she develops Sky to be a worthy, strong powerful match for all the guys. To me that’s what feels right, but if the author wants a spin-off opportunity I’m sure this will not be a RH. That would be too bad. In any case, if she doesn’t get Sky to woman up more and better integrate all the brothers into the storyline in the next book I’m out.

I enjoyed this book. This series is really interesting. The story is progressing nicely. I’m super confused on whether or not this thing is a RH series, and I’m even to the point that if it’s not, I might be disappointed.

I’m finding that I hate the way the everyone is treating Sky. It’s not that Sky is a weak character, she’s been through some crap and in every book more is revealed. This series started with Sky’s parents missing and you think she’s just a daughter searching for her beloved parents, but the more that’s being revealed about Sky’s life you find out how crappy her both parents and her life has been. It’s weird the turn around from the first book from being worried about Sky’s parents...... to being hopeful they rot in the Underworld. Sky is a survivor and seems stronger for it, however the way Everettsons treat her with kid gloves all the time like she’s a bomb ready to go off is not helping her gain any more strength. It’s annoying how they speak to her like she’s a toddler at times. I’m ready for her to blow up on them already.

Im really excited to see where this story will go Sky is learning to use her powers and I am hoping she is about to start kicking names and taking arse.

The Darkness is coming....and it's wants Sky.

Jessica Sorensen has done it again. Like the first book Enchanted Chaos, this books hooks you from the first page. I love this book more than the first. Shimmering Chaos gives you a better look into the characters, especially Sky, Foster and Easton. You get to see more of her powers and what Sky is capable of and there is some major twists in this book that I didn't even expect. Foster wants to protect Sky but can't lie to her about some truths of the Elemental world. Sky and Foster's friendship/relationship is complicated and learning that their first encounter wasn't entirely their first from the first book.

I adore Easton, he's adorable and so much more open in this book as is Foster. Shimmering Chaos explains so much more and I can't wait to read the next in the series. I want to know more about the Darkness.

There is so much in this book that it literally leaves you wanting more, it's so well written. It's comical, it's edgy, full of twists and WTF moments. An spectacular installment to Chaos series. I can't wait for Iridescent Chaos!

Book 2 in this series is a really fast read. I like how Sky's character opens up a bit and is actually less edgy. The problem w/ her character is that she comes off as bad girl in book one. She has 2 strong friends who also seem like terrible influences on her. She drinks and smokes and swears. She does what she wants and has "absent" parents. By book 2 she is missing her friends, she still swears and she finds herself liking most of the everttson brothers. She is extremely unsure of herself and constantly second guessing things. These two character traits contradict one another. You cannot have a self proclaimed bad ass who is also so unsure and constantly putting herself down. It's frustrating. The strange connection w/ the brothers is just that...strange. Not romantic. Not exciting. Just awkward and always lacking. She does find out what she is and they do begin to train her but it is slow moving. I like this series enough to keep on reading in hopes the character developement continues. I gave this 4 stars because the author does paint a very clear picture of what is happening. There are only a few minor editing errors.

I truly enjoy this book. I love how she's trying to keep her distance but can't and how the Foster shares his memories with her not only does she comprehend what its like to be him but also knows why he kept his distance. Because she gets "kidnapped" the link she has with the guy's changes and ( that's why she should have trained before this happened) what she doesn't know is that the link has changed not only affecting Foster but also the rest of the brothers. She knows that she is powerful but she doesn't know how powerful she really is. She knows that there are more thats going on but she understands that just because she just join the link, doesn't mean that they have to bare there souls to her. Even though she has been truthful about the "darkness", they haven't really taught her how to block it but they have taught her to have a little bit of control with her other powers. I enjoy the fact that its part of her emotions that have the weather acting funny. Foster may try to have a relationship with her but he isn't really truthful with her.

Still a bit hopeful

I'm so book two is also written to keep you reading. Sky is growing and right near the end we get to hear fost and it gives us back ground info. So my issues with this book is one I had with book one and it's because even with cliffhanger stories you get some issue solved. This book and book one meekly touch the surface of what's truly going on.
I did like learning more about where they come from and what Sky means to everyone. Sky's character is getting weaker when I expected her to be getting stronger at this point. The way she is being portrayed doesn't vibe with a strong main character.
I hope the next book makes her stronger and not one that drives a wedge between her and Foster because that would just kill the story and is have to change all my reviews. I'm still holding out hope this will be a series I can promote to all my younger readers and a few of my adult readers! So again my finger are crossed....

So, this book takes place as the same time as her other RH series Capturing Magic.

I personally liked this book. I def could see how others could be annoyed at how weak Sky is acting.
I get it. But we have to realize everything that happens to her takes place within a weeks time.
I liked how she became closer to Foster and Easton.
I feel like not enough happened in this book, but it wasnt bad.
I really like JS books, but I feel they generally have been moving along to slowly.
Overall I like it and plan to continue.

Meh

Look, any time of genre follows a formula, but some authors do a better job of weaving the story around the formal so x+y*z doesn't stand out so blatantly. I can't get over feeling like I'm reading the formula rather than reading the story with this series. It's really disappointing. The potential is there, but with both books in this series I've found myself throwing on word runner so I can get through it as fast as I can, and you never want to hear a reader is just trying to get through it. Part of the problem my be the frequency in which these are getting pushed out. I would much rather Sorensen took the time to develop a good story and characters I can get lost in then shoving something at me every few months.

Good Book

Shimmering Chaos continues Skylin’s story and this book sees her starting to learn about her powers and starting her new school. I enjoyed this book and some lingering questions from the first book were answered, alongside new ones emerging. Even though this series is advertised as a reverse harem, it’s very, very slow moving. The story itself mainly focused on Skylin trying to gain control of her powers and there’s not much movement in regard to what’s happening between her and the brothers. Overall, I did enjoy reading this book and I’m interested in seeing what happens in the next one after the cliffhanger at the end of the book. I would recommend giving this book a read if you like slow burn stories.

I forsee many books in the future.

The books are ok. I'm a little disappointed because I feel like this series is going to drag on into 20 books at this rate. It took two books for the writer to tell us the things we had already figured out for ourselves, Foster and Sky are a pair, her parents aren't her parents, she's a goddess or has Goddess powers, Porter is some kind of vampire/succubus only thing I'm not sure about at this point is if this is going to be a harem book which is kinda cringe considering their brothers. And I think Gage will turn out to be some kind of magical creature. Just a guess.

This series just keeps getting better with each book and more exciting. I REALLY cannot wait to see what happens in the next book of this series!!! I for one am dying to see what Sky fully turns into. Here's hoping her real mum is actually be alive somewhere. It will break my heart if she is all alone other than this unique family acting as her guardians. Could she possibly have family out there?? Once she gets her power under control she will indeed be a force connection with. Super excited to see what happens next!!!

Meh

Great story and concept. Most of the characters had some depth though some points were a little not as relatable. Sky made some rather immature choices and just crys way too much at points. I'm not really a fan of instant-love or damsels in distress type relationships so I'm hoping to see more from the other brothers and understand more about all of the Porter references...some strong hints there lol. Also can we get Sky to be a tad more badass lol. So far it's okay (meh), not the best from Ms. Sorenson.

Omg I need more

I cant even tell you how much I love this series so far. I'm glad I just found it and only have to wait until November to get the next one ! The dynamics between Sky and Foster heat up and Sky starts to understand the truth of who she is. I'm interested to see what her powers evolve to and find out about the other Gods energies ...but I'm also curious about why Nina and Gage suddenly disappear from contacting her ...seems like there is something in the background there. I'm dying for the next book...hurry up already (:

Book 2

I was so excited to read this book after being captured by the first one. I felt as though this book left me with more questions than answers.. still not sure how I feel about some of the relationships developing, however I do like Sky’s development in this book. I don’t find her to be whiny. I think she could ask more questions but she is on information overload so it is easy to see why she is still closed off. I need to read the third book like now! The wait is killing me.
