All pop star Jackson Wilder wants this Christmas is a few weeks out of the spotlight in a rented cabin in the Colorado mountains. But when a blizzard leaves him stranded on a country road on his way out of town—and still wearing the Santa costume from a last-minute commercial shoot—he takes shelter in a nearby horse barn to wait out the storm.
Miranda O’Keefe will be lucky to get a wreath up on her door this year. Between raising her six year-old son, Ollie, running her vet practice, and getting her horse rescue project off the ground—Christmas will have to take a back seat. But when Ollie tells Miranda he’s found Santa Claus asleep in their horse barn—and has asked Santa to heal his beloved rescue horse Twisty—the self-reliant single mother finds herself asking for a stranger’s help to grant her son’s Christmas wish.
But when attraction turns to affection, will love come to the rescue this holiday for Miranda and Jackson too?
Hello, fellow reader! I am the NAL author of women's fiction set by the sea. My fifth novel, THE LAST TREASURE, follows the love triangle between three treasure hunters searching for a mysterious shipwreck on the Outer Banks, and comes ashore on August 2, 2016. I love meeting with book clubs via Skype--so stop by my website to learn how we can set up a chat!
A little boy discovers Santa hiding in his barn, and the magic of Christmas is upon him. Turns out, Santa is a pop star recovering from an accident. As he recovers from his injuries, Jackson Wilder finds Miranda and Ollie the best hosts. Miranda O'Keefe is a veterinarian with a struggling horse rescue ranch, money is tight, and she may lose everything. Jackson owes his record label a hit Christmas song, and he delivers--with one caveat--his profits are to be donated to save the ranch. Ollie only wants his horse, Twisty, to be healed. How many miracles can Santa perform? The best gift might be a ready-made family Jackson never knew he wanted while Miranda might find relying on someone to shoulder the load is better than doing it alone. Christmas is right around the corner, and time is not on their side, but this year, Christmas might just be rescued!
Loved this heartwarming Christmas story of believing. Be careful what you wish for? Pop star Jackson Wilder wants some time off to regroup and rents a cabin in the mountains, when a blizzard leaves him stranded in a barn while wearing a Santa suit. Miranda a single mom raising her six year old son, Ollie finds "Santa", Jackson sleeping the barn. Miranda is busy with being a vet and has her horse rescue project. Ollie asks Santa for one wish, to help save one of the rescue horses that is not doing good. Soon a friendship develops between the three of them, each healing in their own ways.
This is the perfect sweet romance to read in the afternoon, and you soon will start to believe in miracles. I highly recommend this book.
LOVED this heartwarming sweet holiday read. Jackson Wilder is a musician that is just looking for a little downtime for the holidays. When he heads to a cabin in the mountains still in the Santa suit he wore for a commercial he crashes his car before he gets there he finds himself in a barn looking up into the eyes of an adorable little boy and his not so happy mother. The little guy assumes he's the real Santa and Jackson agrees to hang around and not disappoint the little guy. Jackson soon realizes this is exactly what he's been missing in his life. A good woman and a family. Could he make these two his?
This is a quick read but it is very well done and will leave you smiling. Definitely a book I recommend.
Rescued by Christmas marks my first time reading Erika Marks. If all of her stories are as sweet and heartwarming as this one is, then she has a new fan. The cover is what captured my attention. The blurb is what had me wanting to read the book. I mean who can resist a stranded Christmas story, with a six-year-old believing in Santa Claus? Definitely not me.
Jackson Wilder is a popular country music singer. He never seems to have time for himself, and people know him wherever he goes. It’s three weeks before Christmas and he’s looking forward to being off grid in a mountain hideaway. Jackson is so excited that once he finishes filming his commercial, where he’s dressed as Santa Claus, he hightails it straight to his car. How hard can it be for a California native use to driving on the sand to drive in a snowy blizzard? The answer is very hard. Jackson crashes and injures himself but manages to find shelter in a barn before passing out.
With school closed due to the unexpected blizzard, six-year-old Oliver “Ollie” O’Keefe finds himself running to the barn to check on his mom’s newest rescue horse, Twisty. Not only does he find Twisty still looking sad, depressed, and dispirited, he finds Santa injured and unconscious. Making a Christmas wish that Santa saves Twisty, Ollie runs off to get band-aids and runs into his mother.
Being trapped in a blizzard is bad enough. But being trapped with a complete stranger when help is hours away is horrible. But Miranda is a vet and knows this stranger needs help. In a moment of weakness, Miranda finds herself asking Jackson to continue pretending to be Santa for Ollie’s sake. To her surprise, Jackson agrees. In a matter of days, these complete strangers create the foundation for a truly happy home and loving family.
Erika has written a really likeable and enjoyable story. All the characters were amazing. I literally smiled the whole time I was reading Rescued by Christmas. This was a sweet romance that had me wishing Christmas was around the corner. My only complaint about the story is that I would have really really liked to have seen what Christmas morning was like and more of Ollie.

I voluntarily read a advanced reader's copy of this book.
Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks. I enjoyed the plot of this book. A heart-warming story. I liked the characters. I 'look forward to reading more by author.
This is a cute feel good Christmas short story with all the right ingredients; single mom with cute, precocious 6 year old, animals needing saving and Santa! This is one story needing a followup.
This book was gifted by the publisher and the author for an honest review.
Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks All pop star Jackson Wilder wants this Christmas is a few weeks out of the spotlight in a rented cabin in the Colorado mountains. But when a blizzard leaves him stranded on a country road on his way out of town—and still wearing the Santa costume from a last-minute commercial shoot—he takes shelter in a nearby horse barn to wait out the storm. But when attraction turns to affection, will love come to the rescue this holiday for Miranda and Jackson too? This is Miranda O’Keefe and Jackson Wilder's story. Miranda O’Keefe pulled open the oven door and blew out a relieved breath. For someone who’d worked three jobs to put herself through vet school, it was shocking how much pride she took in not burning a batch of gingerbread men. The kitchen, which usually reeked of take-out Chinese or microwave burritos, now smelled sweetly of cinnamon and cloves, the unmistakable and glorious fragrance of Christmas. She’d even clicked on one of Pandora’s holiday playlists and had Nat King Cole chiming out “O Holy Night.” one of Pandora’s holiday playlists and had Nat King Cole chiming out “O Holy Night.” Slipping her hands into a pair of padded oven mitts, Miranda pulled out the two sheets and set them on the top of the stove to cool, taking a moment to savor her uncharacteristically festive behavior. Most Christmases found her madly cutting out store-bought cookie dough Christmas Eve, but here she was, three weeks before the big night, with two dozen gingerbread cookies. So what if it was only because this crazy pop-up blizzard had kept her home from work, and Oliver home from kindergarten? She’d still allow herself a little pat on the back. Especially since this fit of homemaking skills might be her peak for this year’s holiday. Between working full-time, keeping up her horse rescue program Free Spirits, and trying to bring her most recent rescued horse back to health, she’d given up on having a Christmas tree this year—and felt crippling guilt for it. Thursday night—Three weeks to Christmas.“Jacks, are you sure you won’t wait until morning to leave?” Jackson Wilder tossed his agent a warning glance over his shoulder as Ted Carlisle followed him into his dressing room and closed the door behind them. Not a chance. After a long day of filming holiday commercial spots, all Jackson wanted was to get out of this big red oven mitt and on the road to his mountain hideaway. Two glorious weeks off the grid, where he could pretend to be the unknown California beach bum he was before his break-out single, “Under Your Skin,” made him one of the country’s hottest pop stars five years ago. And no stalled snowstorm was going to mess it up for him. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book." I highly recommend reading. Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks is a wonderful well written 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Erika Marks. taught her to make a wicked gumbo, and their two little mermaids. Ted was Jackson’s agent and wished Jackson would let someone drive him or wait into the morning as there is a snow storm and Jackson had only driven in snow once. This time he would be driving up a mountain for two weeks in a mountain hideaway he had rented. Jackson was a pop star and just wanted some peace and privacy. He just finished doing some holiday commercials and he was still in a Santa Claus outfit. Ted pointed out he had fans waiting and he could slid out the side door in the Santa outfit and that is just what Jackson did he wanted to get started and get to his hideaway. Jackson had wanted to give back this year, something meaningful. Jackson usually loved connecting with his fans but he wanted to get on the road. Miranda had worked three jobs to put herself through vet school, it was amazing how much pride she put in not burning a batch of gingerbread cookies. The blizzard had kept Miranda home from work and her six year old son Oliver/Ollie from kindergarten today. Miranda worked a full time job, then she had her horse rescue program-Free Spirits, and trying to bring her most recent rescue horse-Twisty- back to health. She’d even given up having a Christmas tree this year this may be all the Christmas there would be and she felt horribly guilty about it. Then Ollie was looking for the kitchen drawer and when Miranda asked what he was doing her said looking for big band-aids because Santa was hurt real bad and needed them. Then Ollie added he had seen Santa in the barn just now when he went to check on Twisty and Santa was sleeping against the hay and had a real bad cut on his hand. Miranda made it out to the barn and found Jackson there but all she knew was he was a hot Santa imposter.Ollie came out to the barn even though Miranda had told him to stay locked in at the house but he said he found the band-aides. Then Ollie begged Miranda not to let Santa die. Jackson was obviously in pain and it was her duty to help him. Miranda asked Jackson to pretend to be Santa Claus until she could figure out how to tell him Twisty might not make it and he has bonded with the horse. Then she muttered never mind and went to get him something to eat. But Ollie believed he was Santa as Jackson thought about everything including getting out of there. If he was going to emerge from this accident unscathed he had to ride it out as long as possible. But where? Jackson couldn’t go anywhere for the time being even if he wanted to with the winter storm. The attraction between Miranda and Jackson growns as time goes on. Jackson also cares for Ollie. Maybe this is what he needed. I really enjoyed this book. Never too early for a story full of Christmas magic. I loved Ollie and all he added to this book. I really liked Miranda and Jackson together and how they interacted. I liked how their attraction grew with time. I wish this was a little longer. I chuckled at times and I choked up at times while reading this. As the holiday season soon approaches this was a good start off of holiday reading. Wish I could have rated this a 4.5 as this book deserved it. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.
A sweet story about an unlikely match who make a memorable Christmas for one special little boy.
Pop star, Jackson Wilder, just finished up shooting a Christmas commercial where he portrayed Santa right down to the red suit and spray on white hair and beard. He slipped out the back door in his costume so his fans wouldn’t recognize him and hit the road to the cabin that he rented to spend Christmas alone working on some new songs. Along the way Jackson loses control of his car in the snow and wrecks. He manages to get himself to a barn to take shelter only to be found by Ollie who thinks he really is Santa and he is hurt.
When Ollie comes running to his mom, Miranda O’Keefe, claiming Santa is hurt and needs help, Miranda goes to see what he’s talking about. She helps Jackson and lets him stay there until the blizzard passes. During this time, Ollie comes to believe Jackson really is Santa. Jackson and Miranda play along with it to keep Ollie happy. But as the days pass, it gets harder and harder to keep Jackson’s true identity a secret. Will they be able to pull it off until Christmas? And, will Jackson be able to fulfill Ollie’s one Christmas wish, to help their horse Twisty get better?
I enjoyed this book. It was almost too short for me. I was really getting into the story when it started wrapping up. I liked the relationship that Miranda and Jackson formed. Ollie was a sweet little guy who I couldn’t help falling for. I also enjoyed the background of the horse rescue and how much of her heart Miranda put into helping the horses. The author did a wonderful job keeping the story flowing along and keeping it fun, light hearted and entertaining. If you’re looking for a sweet Christmas story, don’t miss this one.
What six-year-old little boy who thinks he has Santa staying in his barn to grant his Christmas wish to heal his rescue horse, Twisty would be able to keep the secret and not tell his friends in kindergarten? Little Ollie O'Keefe does just that. He truly believes that the man he found in the family barn is Santa Claus. But of course it's not Santa. It's popular pop star singer Jackson Wilder who crashed near the barn during a snow storm on his way to a vacation rental in the Colorado mountains. He is a little injured and stranded there while the storm rages. Jackson has just finished playing the part of Santa while filming holiday commercials and has to leave on the Santa suit to escape the fans gathered outside the studio. He is looking for some peace and quiet so certainly doesn't want any fans trying to follow him. Those fans were looking for Jackson Wilder not Santa Claus. Ollie's mom Miranda O'Keefe, who is the local vet and also runs Free Spirits, a horse rescue project, asks Jackson to play along as Santa to not disappoint her little boy. The thing is this Santa comes to really like Ollie's mom. So in the end Jackson Wilder turns out to be the best Santa ever for Miranda and Ollie.
Rescued By Christmas is a sweet Christmas story filled with fun. Erika Marks tells a Christmas tale that entertains and warms the heart. Her characters are charming and the storyline is all about Christmas. That's what I really liked about this story. It's a Christmas story that wraps the meaning of Christmas into it as well as the joy and traditions of the season. This is truly a "make you feel good" story. A perfect read to get into the Christmas spirit!
I have enjoyed Erika Marks’ stories for years. I always know that I’m in for a romantic, emotional treat when I pick up one of her books and Rescued by Christmas certainly fit that expectation perfectly. How can you not fall in love with little Ollie? He is so adorable, his faith in the miracles that Santa can accomplish is unwavering. I just wanted to wrap that little boy in a hug. His love and devotion to his horse, Twisty, will melt even the most Grinch-like heart.
Jackson and Miranda make a lovely couple, both devoted to their careers but more importantly to making one little boy’s Christmas wish become a reality. Miranda is a strong, independent woman who knows the reality of hard work in both raising her son and in the horse rescue project she’s committed to. It’s not exactly easy for her to let Jackson in but he’s proving to be far more than she ever imagined. Jackson, well I did definitely fall in love with him. Any man who can rock a Santa suit and still keep a little boy’s faith in possibilities secure is a man I’d not mind in my life. Watching the interactions between Ollie and Jackson were truly heart melting times indeed.
Frankly, I simply had a great time with Rescued by Christmas and these people who bring the heart of Christmas with their actions, their words and their hearts. This one will definitely be on my yearly Christmas read list. I would recommend this story for any reader who simply loves the magic of Christmas… and the magic of falling in love.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Pop Star Jackson Wilder... wants to get away from everything, upon finishing his gig where's he's been a temporary Santa, he heads to the Mountain Cabin to relax for Christmas. Miranda O’Keefe has a young son Oliver, they tend to rescue horses, keeping the damaged ones at their house barn for constant care.
Jackson has an accident and ends up in Miranda's barn whilst still wearing the Santa suit... Oliver finds him and goes running to find mum saying Santa is hurt... intrigued to what he's on about she goes to see for herself. Miranda helps Jackson and lets him stay there until the blizzard passes. During this time, Ollie comes to believe Jackson really is Santa. Jackson and Miranda play along with it to keep Ollie happy. But as the days pass, it gets harder to keep Jackson’s true identity a secret. Will they be able to pull it off until Christmas? And, will Jackson be able to fulfil Ollie’s one Christmas wish?
Ollie is a sweet little guy you just can't help falling for and I enjoyed the background of the horse rescue and how much of her heart Miranda put into helping the horses.
The story flowed along nicely whilst keeping it fun but light-hearted and entertaining.
Snow, horses and Christmas, yes please! It’s never too early for a Christmas story, and I absolutely adored this one. We have vet and single-mom Miranda, plus pop star Jackson in a perfect, snowy X-massy setting. When singer Jackson wants to escape the hype to just write some new songs and have some peace after shooting a Christmas commercial, he ends up in a car accident in some heavy snow and spends his night in a barn, still dressed up as Santa. He’s found by Miranda’s son, Ollie, who actually thinks he’s Santa, the real deal. Being the time of the year when wishes come true, he needs Santa to help him with the hurt horse he wants to save. He’s Santa Claus, after all. Jackson plays along and gets to stay until the snowstorm ends and as time passes, he seems to really enjoy this unwanted deal. Will the attraction that forms between him and Miranda turn into something more? First: Ollie is THE CUTEST!!!! But I really liked all the protagonists. I loved how independent and self-reliant Miranda was. Loving horses myself, I especially liked the idea of the horse rescue project that vet Miranda runs. People – and popstars- who help care for hurt animals, often tend to be the most caring and ‘real’ ones in this rather fast and often superficial world. I would have liked the book to be a tiny bit longer, especially concerning the development of the love story, but I adored it nonetheless. This definitely won’t be my last book by the author. It’s a perfect sweet, fun, and feel-good Christmas read! The story truly captures the meaning of Christmas, of caring and of love. I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
4 Stars - I definitely recommend if you enjoy contemporary Christmas fiction.
When pop star Jackson Wilder crashes his Range Rover in the mountains on his way to a week of solitude, he limps through the storm to a lit up barn. In the morning he's discovered by a little boy, Ollie, who thinks that Jackson is Santa Claus... because he happens to be dressed up as Santa Claus. Miranda, the Ollie's mom, is terrified that there is a stranger in her barn, but quickly realizes that Jackson doesn't pose a threat to their family. As a vet, she takes care of his wounds and lets him camp out in their barn apartment. When the little boy asks Santa to heal their dying horse, Jackson has to stick around and keep up the charade.... and quickly realizes that he doesn't mind doing so.
This is quintessential Christmas fiction for me. It was cute, fluffy, and had a lot of Christmassy activities in it. I loved Jackson and Miranda, they were cautious but hopeful in a way that only fluffy books can pull off, and Ollie was the cutest. I loved all of Ollie's very kiddo questions, and the fun that he brought to the book. I loved that Miranda was a vet, and the horse rescue element of the book as well. All of the cozy family meals, decorating the tree, sledding, etc. definitely put me in the holiday spirit. This had romance in it, but it wasn't overly romantic which worked out well with the family aspect. Definitely PG. :) Basically this is exactly the kind of book I am looking for when I pick up a Christmas novel. Definitely recommend if you enjoy Christmas fiction!
Right After Reading:
Quintessential Christmas fiction. Loved it. :)
I was given advance access to this title by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. These reviews are my own opinion, and based on the edition of the book I was given at the time. Thank you Netgalley!
This book is magical just like Santa. You have a injured music star who looks like Santa, a single mom who is a vet and runs a horse rescue and a little boy. Ollie believes Santa can cure Twistie his rescue horse. This book is about a “song” written for a special lady, gingerbread and trusting another. Rescued by Christmas is a heartfelt book about letting Love happen.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. It was an enjoyable story. We meet a mother and her son who live in a log cabin in Colorado. Jackson, a musical star finds himself in their barn after a car accident during a snow storm. He was dressed as Santa for a show and the son Ollie thinks he’s the real Santa. He asks Santa to save the sickly rescue horse his mom the vet has staying with them. The story explains the relationship between the 3 of them. I wish it was longer and didn’t end so suddenly. Very good plot.
Christmas and children just go together. Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks has both including a pop star dressed as Santa Claus stranded in a blizzard. This is a charming novella, which could only be better if it had been longer. The characters are people you would like to have as neighbors, then there is six-year-old, Ollie, a true delight.
Jackson Wilder may not be the real Santa Claus but he is able to work his magic for Miranda and her son. A story that will put you in the holiday spirit even if it has just turned fall.
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A sweet and lovely Christmas story that makes you feel good. Everything is wonderful: the characters, the setting, and the plot. Highly recommended! Many thanks to Tule Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC
Rescued by Christmas is a cute, heartwarming, sweet story. Jackson is a tired pop star needing a break. Oliver is a young boy needing to believe in a miracle. Miranda is a single mother, a veterinarian & the head of Free Spirits, a horse rescue organization. As they grow closer during a snow storm, Jackson’s words begin to flow.
This was a very sweet story with the suggestion of chemistry between Jackson & Miranda. Oliver’s never ending faith causes the reader to want to believe. Miranda is strong & independent, sometimes too independent. She doesn’t want to rely on anyone. They all need some Christmas love, faith & yes, even a miracle.
This is the story of Miranda and Santa/Jackson. I enjoyed the author's writing style as they got to know one another. Add in one adorable little boy who believes Santa is hurt and in their barn and this has all the makings of my favorite Holiday type romance. The story was building up nicely, but the ending seemed to come too abruptly. I felt the story took an unrealistic turn with how quickly his Christmas song was written, recorded and being played on radio. The book seemed too short for me.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest opinion.
Rescued by Christmas is a sweet and tender novel about three people: a rock star that wants to get away for Christmas, a vet and horse rescuer, and the vet’s six year old son. And there is a sick horse that might not make it but that the son, Oliver, is desperate to have heal. They all converge when the rock stat, Jackson Wilder, runs his rented SUV aground in the snow and is found in the barn-dressed in a Santa costume from a commercial he was working on. Oliver thinks he is Santa and mom, Miranda O’Keefe, is reluctant but goes along with the charade because it is making Oliver happy. The threesome form a bond but Miranda is not completely on board with her feelings for Jackson. What happens over his short time with them rescues them all.
Rescued by Christmas was a sweet and cute story. Jackson becomes stranded and injured while trying to get away for some relaxation by a snowstorm and ends up snowed in with Miranda and her son. This encounter helps bring perspective to both of their lives and feelings begin to bloom between them.
This story was a feel good story. One you could cozy up with a blanket and hot chocolate.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a sweet romantic Christmas story. I loved Jackson, Miranda and Oliver. From the very first chapter where Oliver thought that Jackson was Santa you could see what a great family the 3 of them would make. Even though Miranda was a little bit frighten because Jackson was a stranger you could feel the chemistry working between them. I thought that Erika Marks did such a great job spinning this romance into such a great story about a Christmas miracle. That is what this story is all about. It is about finding something that you didn't even realize you were missing. It is about helping other people find joy. It is about giving from your heart and really not expecting anything in return. Reading this book filled my heart with so much love and joy. The only thing I think would have made this book even better was an epilogue so you could see where the their future went. If you are looking for a book that will make you smile and feel good then pick this book up because it will do just that. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
A sweet, clean holiday romance that packs a lot of holiday cheer in its few pages. There is nothing realistic about this story but the holiday season is all about wishes magically coming true so why not for a single mother who finds a rock star stranded in her barn? I wish more pages had been spent on making there attraction to each other seem more real but this book will satisfy a craving for a quick holiday story.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed reading this story - the easy to please little boy, the hard working mom, the handsome stranger, the slow and steady attraction and love story. What I feel was missing is that you don’t see much of Miranda using her veterinarian skills, nor do you see her dedication to healing Twisty until the last few chapters.
Ms. Marks is a talented writer and I will be looking for more of her books.
My ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Loved it! What a great Christmas story! Though wouldn't the women give something to him to wrap his poor ankle to brace it? I would think hobbling around on a hurt ankle without a light brace/wrap wouldn't be for for it. That was the only thing that I kept waiting for during the initial meeting of the two.
This is a voluntary review and I do not get paid for this review.
Rescued by Christmas by Erika Marks Story starts out with Jackson and he's just finishing up a gig where he's a temp Santa and he wants to just get away from everything, head to the mountain cabin and relax this Christmas holiday season. Also follows Miranda who has a young boy Oliver and they tend to rescue horses. They keep the most hurtful ones at their house barn for constant care. On the way to his cabin Jackson has a mishap and ends up in Miranda's barn, he's wearing his Santa outfit still. She tends to him as Oliver thinks he's the real deal. The adults get to talk when alone at times during 5 days he's stranded there due to his injuries. With the snow storm they are safe at home and for the first time in years they walk to cut down a tree. She is about to lose the shelter in town where the other horses go and Jackosn has to leave to record his latest album... Like this book for many reasons: keeping faith and hope present in your life, the location and being home during the snowstorm-brings back good memories for me. Cutting the fresh tree down, ornaments, cookies and decorating the house from top to bottom. Gifts they have given to one another over the days without even knowing they were gifts at all. So touching. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end along with an author bio. Have read other works from this author and always appreciate her writings, treasured! So many are rescued in this story. Received this review copy from Tule Publishing via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. #RescuedByChristmas #NetGalley
Jackson is finishing up a project where he is playing Santa. He is ready to go away and write some new material in the mountains of Colorado away from everything. His manager is worried about him driving up because he hasn't driven in snowy conditions before. He is more a beach and sand type of guy. On his trip up he slides into a snow bank and is injured but able to make himself to a barn near by. Miranda is the single Mom of 6 year old Ollie. He has just came in while she is cooking dinner and told her Santa is in the barn hurt. He has been out in the barn checking on his sick horse Twisty. She is not sure what he has seen and goes to investigate leaving him in the house. She ask him to stay put but he has other ideas. While she is peaking in on mystery Santa, Ollie sneaks in. Jackson/Santa has a ankle that is pretty sore and injured so Miranda allows him under the condition he continues to play Santa. Ollie believes Santa will heal Twisty. Jackson and Miranda have strong attraction to each other. Miranda not knowing who he is or that he is a celebrity. Jackson likes the idea she has not clue. He helps Miranda out with Ollie believing in Santa and promises he will not disappoint him. She shows him things he has been missing in his celebrity life and he wants to enjoy it. She runs a horse rescue and she has been given notice she has to move her horses. The gentleman who allows her to stable the horses has been giving her a good price but his estate and lawyers are telling her that she cant do it anymore. Jackson offers to help build stables at her home, but she wont let him. While he is there he writes a Christmas song which he thought he would never do. He leaves to go home to record it and returns to her with a gift. It is a gift of his heart and a gift for the horses. I enjoyed this sweet story. I have not read Erica Marks before but look forward to reading more of her books. I received this book as a ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.
