This book called me right out. I literally cannot stand to look in my spare room; it's become such a nightmare in there. I have a problem with keeping too many books and stuff around and Thomas Nielson talks about how we (as Westerners, essentially) hang on to stuff not necessarily from any sense of actual attachment, but through a fear of offending the person who gave whatever it is to us.
Hygge is about coziness, basically. In the same vein as KonMari or Feng Shui, it's about making a space that provides pleasure, is useful and peaceful, is not cluttered; you should feel happy and contented in your home. Your home should not be a source of stress.
I appreciated the focus on light and the flow of space, but the idea of tackling one room at a time (as opposed to the KonMari idea of tackling one ~genre~ of item at a time) is terrifying and I think a bit...complex? when it comes to actually getting rid of things. Regardless, it's a very short book, it's well organised and helpful, and I really really want the hygge right now!

Short book, a simple and uncluttered way to convey the philosophy of hygge which is fitting. No pictures but concise explanation which triggers a desire to learn more about home design.
Matyas J was a good narrator for this self development book.
The content, however was the usual book about minimizing clutter and macimizing space presented in dozens or hundreds of other books. No new ideas nor assistance with determining value or use of items.
It seems to be more of an introduction than an actual how-to.
