'The Hunger Games meets The Road' MTV
You fight, you kill, you steal, you lie.... or you die.
As war breaks out between Blackwing and Greystone, Grace's allegiance becomes clear. But that doesn't make her task any easier.
Hayden knows that war is coming. That these raids are just the beginning, and there is something else coming for them. But can he save his camp and free himself at the same time?
this had to be my favorite one of the first 3 so far, and it has me wondering if the 4th and final book will beat it. it took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. happiness, anger, sadness, heartbreak. in this book you definitely get to know the other characters more, especially dax (who has been my favorite since the beginning). you get his point of view at times, and you find out more about his life and what he has been through. it had so many challenges that they all had to face, and ended with probably the hardest one of all for grace. im addicted to this series i could talk about it forever, and i don’t know what ill do when ive finished the final book. anyways, READ THIS SERIES THANKS.
“I imagined how vastly different our lives could have turned out had the world taken a different path… That was not our world, and it never would be.” “I ticked my finger downward towards me and did the irreversible. Pulled the trigger.” -yet another cliffhanger to end the book are we surprised?
I held out hope that this book would be more substantial than Loyalty and was incredibly disappointed. The only notable occurrence in this book is Jett's death, and even that had a reduced impact with how sickeningly dramatic the author writes. Don't get me wrong, this author is incredibly talented. Their word choice and use of imagery is impressive, along with the way they describe gestures and subtle movements. But it is excruciatingly obvious that this is a fanfiction, and it pains me every time. Half of the book is just the same lines re-stated in different words for dramatic effect, which gets old really quickly. This one line doesn't even make sense,
Even in my mind, I kept referring to him as vague pronouns. Him. He. His.
How would he refer to Jonah as 'his'? Him, makes sense. He, odd but okay. But his? It doesn't work grammatically and it doesn't provide the dramatic effect intended; it's just bad writing. If half the energy spent on re-stating the exact same thoughts a million times had been directed to any type of plot progression, this book would be 4 stars.
I was excited Dax got a chapter in his perspective early on because I thought we'd get more character development from someone other than Hayden and Grace, but it was just so we could see their relationship from an outsider's perspective. I desperately wanted to see more actual anarchy and more violence besides the same old. Raids, gets raided.
Last but not least, Grace and Hayden. I'm a fan of enemies to lovers and adored their dynamic in the first book, but now every interaction between them is so sickeningly sweet I can't stand it. I said this in my last review, but the amount they say each other's name in casual dialogue really messes with the flow of their conversations. In the first 150 pages, they exchange 'I love you's over twenty times (an exaggeration, but my point stands). I really, really love romance (especially in post-dystopian settings) but I've finally met my match. This couple is too much even for me. The ratio of romance to actual plot is incredibly unbalanced, which really takes away from the book. It's hard to enjoy romance if there's just so much of it, all the time.
All in all, this series really sucks. The author's crazy talented, but is using this talent writing the corniest shit. 2/5.

Rezension „Ruins of Love - Zerrissen (Grace & Hayden 3)“ von Megan DeVos
Meinung
Well once again Megan DeVos did it again! the last book left off on a cliff hanger and while Revolution started with answering some unanswered questions, it was slow paced at first, but toward the end I was in tears as the deaths started to pile up and feel more real and where it ended left me feeling a mix of happy for revenge and worried for their situation. She keeps you engaged and you get so enthralled that you feel as if you are in the book yourself. highly recommend as long as you are prepared to become obsessed in the story and fall in love with the characters. Great read!!!!
i really liked the book, but i think the entire plot was basically jonah and all the missed opportunities. the scenes with jett broke my heart. i knew it was coming, but still had to put the book down for a solid 5 minutes. it's not 5/5 stars solely because some of the scenes with hayden and grace are just a bit too cringey. they constantly say "i love you" and hayden's gone super soppy. i miss the hayden that was a hard shell and only occasionally showed his soft side.

LOVE. I really liked that we see more of the side characters like Dax, my fav character. The cover matches the book and makes me want to cry, the symbolism is super cute. This book made me cry frfr. Sad, so interesting, finished it in one sitting. Could read it over and over, probably my favourite book of the series for the emotional rollercoaster that it put me on.
This is where everything gets so stressful and I love the second half of this series! The teamwork within the group of characters is amazing as they're faced with so many challenges that they still have yet to face.
DNF, felt a bit repetitive, something dangerous happens, they go back to haydens hut, have sex, tell each other i love you and then the next day same thing, i enjoyed the 1st book alot but just struggled afterwards
i don't really remember much since i read it last year but from what i remember i could not get enough, i would get up in the morning and my fist through was this series that's how good it is and Megan DeVos did not disappoint.
Now, I read this originally on wattpad as the fanfiction when I was maybe 17, so I see it as actual books on Amazon 7 years later and I just can’t resist. Originally it was Anarchy (first 3 books in one I think) and then Anarchy: Annihilation, and I feel like that had a better pacing to me as the 2 books. But I guess making it 4 spread it out better or something? I think if it had have been cut up better then it would have been easier to finish sooner. I think the way one book ended sometimes was a bit lacklustre, but overall still very nostalgic to me.
Just finished rereading this book as part of my annual reread of the series and I forgot how much I LOVED this book. Plot twists in there that I genuinely forgot happened which broke my heart all over again, and more character development that makes you feel like you know them personally.
