J.T. Bishop

Award-winning author, J.T. Bishop, is a writer of mystery thrillers with a supernatural edge. Growing up, she read books by Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, and Dean Koontz, devoured every episode of The X-files, and watched plenty of TV shows with great partnerships that left her wanting more. She loves tangled relationships, unexpected twists and turns, heart-stopping love stories and the complications that come with all the above. Throw in a little supernatural fun and she’s hooked. Her evil plan is to hook you, too.

She’s the author of The Red-Line Trilogy and its sister series, The Fletcher Family Saga, which features touches of urban fantasy, light sci-fi, and paranormal romance. She’s also happily writing mystery thrillers featuring two charismatic detectives who may occasionally encounter a supernatural villain or two, and a crossover series which follows the exploits of a gifted, but troubled, paranormal P.I. and his spunky sister.

All the above keeps her busy, but in her spare time, she loves a good movie, tasty food, an unfortunate sugar addiction, and traveling.

This is book three in the Red-Line : Fletcher Family Saga series and follows the family on from the four books in the Red-Line series. This book focuses on Eve Fletcher, who is a Grey-Line, someone with some powers, but not as powerful as a Red-Line. She is half human and half Grey-Line through her absent father, and is actually one of a set of triplets. Her father was an important person on his home planet, and had a family on a visit to Earth. He came back to monitor their ‘shift’ into their powers, each of them gaining different powers. Eve has a brother Grayson and a sister Gillian, but can’t live anywhere near them due to the chance of discovery by those currently in charge of their father’s home planet.

Eve has worked for the last few years as a bar lounge singer and has been nicknamed ‘Spark’ by her boss, Benny, who has become a close friend and father figure to Eve. A recent addition to the bar staff is Adam, a stranger and a somewhat shy man who is actually in that place for another secret reason. He needs to find where her brother is, the first-born and now High-Child (to be) of their home planet.

They are both in the bar late one night when events take a bad turn and they end up on the run from the people that have killed her boss. They both have secrets to hide, but will soon find that they will have to learn whether they can trust each other, or if friends and family are more important. Eve is falling for Adam, but has to seek help from friends close to her family. Will she inadvertently expose her family secrets to him, in the pursuit of safety?

Another great book in this series. I have read a couple of the others and have missed out on some, which is my own fault! I wish I had managed to read each book, to keep up with all the main characters. This book can totally be read as a stand-a-lone book, but I love reading a series in order and not missing out on details. You have quite a few twists in the story, some relating to Eve’s family relations, and others with the different parties that are interested in finding Eve and her family.

Eve knows the impact of keeping her family secrets and trust is hard to earn. She wants justice for the death of her boss and friend, Benny, but has to balance her needs with those of her friends and family and whether she can trust Adam in this equation. Matters may not go the way you think, but that is life! Really enjoyed this book and will definitely go back and catch up some of the authors other books in this series and the last. I received an ARC copy of this book from Hidden Gems and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

I am so addicted to J.T Bishops writing!

Spark may be one of my favorites of hers (although I think I say that with every book).

Spark is a fun, action packed novel with some suspense. I loved Eve’s fierce personality but kind of wanted to punch her when it came to Adam’s role in her life.

Adam is something else altogether. Bishop did such a phenomenal job bringing his character to life that I simultaneously loved and hated him multiple times throughout this book.

I did my best to savor this book, and draw out what I knew would be a fantastic tale, but I ultimately failed because I just had to know what was going to happen.

I definitely recommend this book, but you have to read the series in order, and I would honestly recommend starting with the first book she wrote and going from there. It ties the entire story together and makes you feel a part of this wonderfully wicked world.

I had not read any of her other books, that is being corrected. It didn’t create any confusion by starting with this book. I liked Eve and her independence. I also like Benny who took care of Eve like she was his own daughter. Adam was the icing on the cake.

Watching Eve who wants to be so independent have to decide to pair up with and rely on Adam was at times humorous. The author keeps the suspense going from the very beginning. I couldn’t put the book down. This was a new author for me. The way the book ended tied everything up neatly, but left just enough suspense to want to know what will happen next to these characters. This is a book I highly recommend to those who love suspense.
I received a copy to facilitate my review. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Got me Hooked on the Fletchers

J.T. Bishop writes well developed characters that feel real. I love/hate how I couldn’t put this book down. On the one hand, it’s captivating and I was completely hooked on the story. On the other hand, not putting it down made me finish the book long before I was ready to get to the end.

Eve and Adam’s relationship was interesting and confusing. It seemed like Adam was up to no good but that didn’t stop him from wanting Eve or for Eve being drawn to him. Other Gray and Red lines make appearances as well.

I can’t wait to start the next in this series but that will only leave me eager for more.

I read it in two days. I couldn't put it down. I wanted to know what happened next, if Adam and Eve will be together or not and if they will make it through their dilemmas. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

An intriguing book that had me hooked. Eve is on the run from the men who killed her boss. Can she trust the man running with her. Loved it
