lots of sex w ow... yuck!

----------------------------

Sterling still claimed to want to play the field.

Sterling hadn’t changed much over the years apart from the fact that we were sleeping together now.

Sterling was staring across the campus and I followed his gaze to see a redhead waving at us.

Rosie didn’t flirt with other guys. I knew that she had a thing for me even if I still dated other girls.

Grace was good in bed. She was responsive and moved with me, rocked against me. She would make for a great regular fuck or even a girlfriend if that were my thing.

He also had a reputation with women on campus, so I assumed he treated us all the same way.

“He left with Grace. I don’t know why you’re holding back so much.” Violet sipped her coffee, and I frowned. Enough about Grace. “He’s not doing it for you.”

I didn’t want anyone else doing that, but it wasn’t like I was giving up other women for Rosie.

Kelly. They were coming back in droves. I was aware that some of the girls I slept with grew feelings for me as girls do.

“Fuck.” I muttered as I pulled out and came on her back. “I forgot a condom. I’m sorry.”

Kendra was an aggressive girl and would not have left me alone the entire night. I made a mistake in sleeping with her last year and she hadn’t given up since.

I slept with her sometimes when we were drunk and alone, or just alone. It was great sex, but we didn’t ever say it was more. I still had the other girls that I met at parties or out with friends. For the first year, I mixed it all together well.

I didn’t know how many he’d had sex with but there had to be a lot.

“I want you bare. I want to feel your heat around me, Rosie.” I eased an inch inside of her as she gasped.

“I don’t want to stop sleeping together. I didn’t mean that.” His eyes locked on mine. “It’s okay if it’s a secret.”

“Use a condom with anyone else.” I stared at him as his lips parted. “I mean it, Sterling.”

“You’re going to end up hurt. He’s too much of a risk.” I sighed as she spoke, my eyes locking on Sterling talking to a girl with bright purple hair.

I hung out with Brinn when I was bored. She was an art student that was fun, and we were friends. I didn’t sleep with her as much as I used to.

“I just want the next few months with you until we both graduate. I wanted to make you feel like more than a fuck. You’re still one of my best friends.”

I hadn’t slept with any other girls for the last two months, but I pushed away the idea of having any feelings for her.

I got sloppy drunk and ended up kissing another woman when the crowd started to scream.

I didn’t sleep with the girl, but we came close enough in that club. Was I thinking of Rosie that night? I knew that I was, but it didn’t prevent me from messing around with her.

I didn’t tell them about Rosie but then again, I never had.

chatted with the girl only aware that her name was Kelly when I went back to her apartment with her. I was numb when I left.

Kelly was willing and eager, but the sex left a lot to be desired.

I settled for seeing Holland, a new girl from one of my classes. She was an artist and quirky. She made me laugh and didn’t demand a relationship.

SPOILER- ISH

Another (anti) romance. All kinds of garbage is in romance category now??
I am sorry but I don’t know how the title fit the story if the male mc sleeps with everything with a hole claiming he “loved “ heroine.
And my favorite quotes:

“I didn’t want anyone else doing that, but it wasn’t like I was giving up other women for Rosie.” ( hero talking about heroine 🤮)

““I don’t want to stop sleeping together. I didn’t mean that.” His eyes locked on mine. “It’s okay if it’s a secret.” ( And it seems heroine was ok with him sleeping around?!... 🤮🧐😏)

More quotes in the review below. Reading it I just came to the conclusion h/H deserve each other.

Wow. I mean seriously, WOW. This book is awful. The entire book is him screwing other women. The heroine is probably the weakest that I have ever seen. She still screws him without a condom knowing that he is screwing other women. She just tells him that needs to use a Gibson with all of the other women that he screws. She just says that she “means it” 🙄 what the actual hell is this crap. He is such a piece of crap. It shouldn’t take a baby to make him be not a douchebag. Not to mention that he’s lucky that he didn’t permanently disable his child and the mother with an STD. Because he is a piece of freaking crap. Some people just aren’t redeemable. The only thing that could have saved this book was if he had died at the end.
Here just read this, I just can’t even...

No rating-I’m def not the target audience.if I was to rate it, I would probably say 2.5 or 3 stars. Just not enough solid angst for my taste.

This review is for the audiobook. I’ve written before how much influence my enjoyment of the narrators has on my overall perceptions of the book and this book is a case in point. The female narrator was fine-she sounded like very young twenty-something. The male narrator was pretty flat and affect-less IMO, and had some interesting interpretations of tempo, cadence, and just general pronunciation. I listened to see what he would mess with next!
the story was MEH. Just about as NA as you can get, but without some of the OTT drama that comes with that territory. What we’re left with is a story fairy Lite on everything except sex. And there is plenty of that. There is plenty of sex with OW on page, but no OW drama to speak of. Almost a negative amount of angst.

My biggest takeaway is that generational wealth sometimes sucks when it feels like an albatross around the necks of young wealthy folks, but that it also helps weather some storms.

I loved Sterling and Roselind's story. They were best friends since childhood who's relationship was tainted by a feud between their fathers. Their attraction and chemistry were explosive but they are both troubled by their parents' feud so they keep their relationship secret. The book teaches us that we should be honest about our true feelings and not wait to express them. Once I started this book I found it hard to put down. No shortage of drama but finally a HEA in the end. I read an arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

I loved this story line! The characters, Rose and Sterling, are childhood friends who end up attending the same college. One hook-up later and they discover a chemistry off the charts but it’s complicated. I can honestly say that I did not like Sterling at all. A person can only use the default of being a playing the field and not wanting to be serious so many times before it’s just a lame excuse (eye roll). Yes, he has some good attributes but his thought process when it came to Rose and what they had never sat well with me. I could relate to Rose and bonded more with her character. She just had a sense about her life that you could warm up to and respect. The emotions throughout were strong for me since I was at serious odds with these 2 characters. But despite my dislike for Sterling I did really enjoy this story. It had some depth and realness to it that a lot of other stories are lacking.
I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

Not bad

Good story. Wish that whoever edited/proof read this would have caught on to the fact the Rosie's family changed after Thanksgiving. She went from having a younger brother and sister to have two older brothers. And sterling went from having an older brother and twin sisters to at the end of the book only having one sister and one brother. Not a big issue but it throws you off when your reading . Other than that I enjoyed the story

Sterling Is A Player, But Rose Captures His Heart!

Sterling Norris and his childhood friend and neighbor Rose were close growing up until their fathers had a falling out over business. Both fathers ran business investment companies in the Seattle area, and both were fiercely competitive. The fall out made it impossible for the families to remain close.

While away at college together, Rose and Sterling rekindle their friendship and become very close once again. Rose is serious-minded and is not into dating. Sterling is following his father's advice and very generously sewing his oats all across campus. But one drunken kiss changes the course of their relationship during their last year at school. They both know they will never have a future,  because of their families and because of Sterling openly admitting he wants to sleep around even while sleeping with Rose.

Both Sterling and Rose are trust fund babies, but neither comes into control until age thirty, making them completely dependent upon their parents' support. Both struggle with plans for after college.  Both have thoughts of escaping their families. Neither can walk away from the other, but neither can they see themselves together beyond graduation.

In spite of the fact that Sterling sleeps around, his chemistry with Rose is surprisingly palpable. It is hard to watch her put up with his behavior, though. It is also hard to see him deny his own feelings and to fail to consider Rose's as he sleeps around even after things shift between them. It might be that the only way for them to come together and realise their love for one another was to go though this non-traditional dating experience, given where each of them stood.

It must be the case that it was the only way to bring them together, because overall both Sterling and Rose are likable. Rose doesn't see herself as a victim, probably because Sterling is so open. Although Sterling avoids recognising his feelings, it is clear that he is in a huge struggle emotionally. He stares into space constantly, battling his feelings and escaping his untenable situation. It is obvious that if he felt like he had control of his future, he might have contemplated changing. It is satisfying when he finally takes action and claims Rose.

There is an HEA, but it is lacking a statement clarifying whether or not Sterling was capable of giving up casual hookups. Given he had no intention of giving up his ways, it should have been directly addressed.

It was nice to see how the families pulled together in the end. While in college, Rose and Sterling couldn't ever picture having a healthy relationship with their families and everything seemed dire, which might be representative of how many college-age kids feel. It was rewarding to see them mature and face their problems rather than run away, and to see them realise happiness and peace.

Unfortunately, the book is replete with inconsistencies. For example, Rose discusses going into writing creatively or journalism after college, then she claims to be getting an art history degree so she can work in a gallery. Later she reverts to the earlier claim when she talks about possibly doing freelance writing work after graduation and living anywhere.

In another example, Rose's father wants her to help her brothers with the family business, but she seemingly only has a nine year old sister and twelve year old brother. It is a good way through the book before the older siblings are introduced, which clears up the earlier confusion.

Additionally, Sterling and Rose's older siblings hung out together over the holidays and Sterling looked forward to it each year, but yet he and Rose couldn't see one another when they were home for the holidays without sneaking around.

In another example, Rosie appears to have three brothers (two older, one younger) and one younger sister; however, Sterling states that he likes Rose's brothers and sisters.

Finally, Sterling and Rose both attend college fairly near home, so they can easily go home for a family dinner on the weekend. Later the drive is an hour, which is doable, but still a fair investment in time for a college kid just to go home for a family dinner. Later the drive is two hours one way.

I would give this book 3.5 stars if possible. The story pulls you in and the characters are likable even when they mess up, but it read like a first draft.

What can fix a family feud?
This book is about Rosalind (Rosie) and Sterling (Sting). They have known each other since they were children, when they were incredibly close. They lived on the same street and spent a lot of time together. But a bitter business rivalry has caused a falling out between their fathers, and subsequently their entire families. They attend the same college, and both live close to each other on-campus. Their families don’t know that they’re still very close friends – which has developed into more.
I didn’t like this particular arrangement they had, as I thought Rosie got the raw end of the deal. Her was a womaniser, and had quite the reputation. Sterling was still hooking up, and sleeping around with other girls, not taking Rosie’s feelings into consideration, but she also frustrated me, because she wouldn’t speak up about it. I think she was scared of losing him. I have to admit, I spent a good majority of the book despising Sterling, for the way he took her for granted. He did make amends though, and turned out to be a pretty stand-up guy.
So they sneak around and surprisingly never get caught. When they’re together it’s kind of sweet, and it’s steamy-hot and very passionate. I don’t’ know how they didn’t realise how they felt themselves for so long! They both openly admitted they were concerned about what their parents would think if they ever found out, as they both had trust funds which they couldn’t touch until they were 30. So their parents held the purse strings over their heads, and were manipulating their choices to some degree.
There was also some drama, angst, confusion, miscommunication, hurt, betrayal, jealousy and mistrust. This all added to the story, making it hard to put down. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and was sad to see it end – though I DID love the end! I don’t want to spoil it for other readers, so will not give away more details, but I do definitely recommend the read! I give this book four and a half stars.

Modern Romeo and Juliet story but with HEA. Fathers that hate each other, competing in the business world and trying to dictate Rosie's and Sterling's life.
Two young souls trying to pursue their dreams, fixated on the goal so much that do not even want to acknowledge their own feelings towards each other.
Rosie who's trying to save her heart keeps relationship with Sting casual because she knows he cannot commit, besides the fact their families are at odds. Sterling trying to understand his feelings towards Rosie finds out that his father haven't show him a good example how to commit to one woman encouraging him to play with girls as much as possible before he settle down. When Rosie finally tells him about the baby he doesn't think twice but acts and takes their HEA in his own hands.
I fell in love with these troubled characters and their story. There was a lot of angst, mixed feelings and signals, some shed tears. I loved how the story progressed. I really like the way author shows that people should talk to each other and try not to judge other peoples' actions through their own experience but to really acknowledge others. If Rosie and Sterling talk to each other about their real feelings and try to talk to their families maybe they could have HEA sooner...?

As to the technical side of the book there are several slips that was not picked up. Rosie's car which is Range then becomes Porsche. I was also lost with the siblings, it wasn't clear to me but it doesn't make book unreadable. The cover that doesn't corresponds with the characters and the title... maybe I didn't pick it up correctly through the book but for me there was no such moment that would corresponds with it. All in all I enjoyed this read and I couldn't turn pages fast enough to get to know what's next.

When friends with benefits has consequences what do you do?

Take My Breath Away is a hot mess in both the delicious and horrible ways. On one hand the story is about two young people figuring out their futures, them selves and relationships. Rosie and Sterling were friends growing up until their fathers had a business dispute that meant they could no longer be friends. Then they end up in the same college six years later and start to become friend again. Rosie had a crush on Sterling when they were younger and even though Sterling is sleeping with anything that wears a skirt or not they end up in a "friends with benefits" situation. This continues for quite a period of time until Rosie ends up pregnant. Now what do they do as their families hate each other and they are both dependent on them until they come into their trust funds when they turn thirty.
I really did not like Sterling as he was basically a man-whore who was doing the same thing with Rosie only they were friends also. To me Rosie is a bit lost in life and her going along with Sterling, even though she as feelings for him, did not feel right to me. It felt like he was taking advantage of Rosie's feelings, even if he did have feelings for her that he was trying everything to avoid acknowledging.
I was a bit confused at times with the details of the story as there are several inconsistencies which had me flipping back to find the part just to prove to myself that my memory was right. This was annoying also as it takes away from the flow of the story.
I did find this book to be engaging but just not totally lovable. I don't know how to describe it any better than that.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This is a wonderful story about childhood friends, Sterling and Rosie who are inseparable and then their fathers had a falling out and they become estranged due to their actions. Each come from wealthy families who have put a lot of expectations on them to follow their rules and path in life. They both attend the same college and Sterling is the out going man on campus with being a BIG time player with the girls and Rosie is very reserved and has a close relationship with her roommate. One day in their last year Sterling really sees Rosie and they talk and their journey starts out as friends that turns into much more along the way. There is denial of their feelings, drama, pressure and becomes something special once they spend the night together! Sterling comes off very immature with being carefree with many girls but later on you find out why he believes it to be the norm. Rosie knows she has real feelings for Sterling and may not have more then a secret relationship with him. When the unthinkable occurs Rosie becomes the woman she needs to be. Will Sterling following in her footsteps or will she walk away from her life forever? Can these two ever stand up to their families and find a way to find happiness and love? This is one special story and an truly enjoyable read! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This is a beautiful love story.
The relationship between Sterling and Rosalind reads at first like Romeo and Juliet. The chemistry between them is hot, and the communication strong. Both characters are typical young adults.
Sterling's excuses for his behavior throughout the book got tiresome for me after a bit. It read like he was thinking he could do whatever with little drama or consequence. In comparison, Rosalind didn't make excuses for her choices. She made her decisions based on her knowledge and moved on from there. The different viewpoints caused clashes between the two characters. At first introduction of the characters, I was inclined to view them as weak, unable to leave the homefront. I then looked at it from the viewpoint of a young twenty something facing choices beyond college. I remember my thinking at that time in my life. Going off on your own after school, with no support (as our hero and heroine were thinking) is no easy task. Both Rosalind and Sterling showed growth throughout the book.
I appreciated the dual point of views. I feel the story would have been lacking without it. Being inside their heads had me wanting to toss my kindle a few times.
A beautiful story of young love, family love, and the choices that bind us.
Enjoy.

Take My Breath Away is a contemporary fiction/romance by author Mia Ford.

It is a secret romance that brews between Rosalind and Sterling. They kiss, but they don't tell. They struggle to keep their feelings to themselves. They go through many highs and lows. When they think all is lost, their mutual love gives them the strength to make their love public!

Take My Breath Away is a breezy read and a feel-good novel. In a world where there is sadness everywhere, the novel comes as a breath of fresh air.

Author Mia Ford's love for writing comes across with the conversations between the central characters and through their angst and their jubilation. Nevertheless, the plot is too simple. The storyline is predictable. Yet on a sad or lonely day, reading Take My Breath Away by author Mia Ford can turn out to be a mood booster.

Rosie and Sterling have known each other since they were little kids. Even though their families hate each other they have remained friends secretly. Then one crazy night at college they end up having sex. Sterling doesn't want to settle for one girl so he keeps playing the field while see sleeping with Rosie. At first Rosie is fine with their situation but when she starts feeling like a dirty little secret she ends things with Sterling. Not long after she ends things Rosie starts getting sick. She thinks its the flue until her friend convinces her to take a pregnancy test. When she sees that she is really pregnant she starts to plan for a life away from her family and Sterling. Will Sterling be able to step up when he learns about the baby? How will their families react?

Rosie and Sterling grew up as best friends despite their families hating each other. Determined to stay friends they secretly keep spending time together. Once they move off and go to college everything changes. After having one too many drinks they end up spending the night together. Afterwards, they realize how good they are together and secretly Rosie has finally gotten what she has wished. Sterling doesn't want to be tied down to any kind of commitment and wants to continue seeing other people. Sterling doesn't see how Rosie is affected by his actions so when she decides to put a stop to their fun time, he doesn't understand. Sterling decides he has to respect Rosie's decision but he will always look out for her so he is alarmed by the changes he start to notice. Rosie is keeping a secret and is ready to leave town but Sterling isn't ready to let her go. This was a good read! Well written and entertaining.

Omg what started off as a sweet friendship turned into a taboo sort of crazy relationship but you can’t call it that because Sterling didn’t do relationships. Sterling was all about playing the field, but not a football or soccer field lol the field of ladies but you knew that already but pun was intended lol. I’m horrible at jokes....anyway. Yes Sterling was a player, but he was honest and up front about it and he never made promises he couldn’t keep.

But with Rosie it was so much more. It was different and the have childhood years to back up a friendship that would last forever. A few extra drinks and Rosie and Sterling went to the place of no return and while they had to keep it hush hush and between themselves and Rosie’s best friend Violet they just couldn’t go back to being just friends and I loved how Sterling wanted to fight for Rosie it showed how he matured with the thought of losing Rosie for good.

Truly enjoyed this books just wished the ending was not so rushed. It follows the relationship between Sterling and Rosie/Rosalind. Childhood friends torn apart by their families business dealings, Sterling always looked out for Rosie to make sure she was safe. They reconnected in college as friends. Sterling continued to be the player with a different girl every night until one night that girl was Rosie. Just one kiss was all it took to move them move than friends. Over their senior year in college, they relationship developed and they realized they really care for each other. However after spending the holidays with their family, Rosie ends it with Sterling only to find out a few weeks later she was pregnant with his baby. Will this baby be what is needed to bring Sterling and Rosie as well as their families back together.

Does everyone deserve a second Chance?

This was the story of BFF's Rosie and Sting aka Sterling. As childhood friends and young love bloomed for both of them, the unfortunate drama that stirred in the lives of their competitive parents put a stern hold on that friendship that had to stop, but eventually they found each other again in college.

We step into the lives of Rosie and Sterling as college students with goals they both want to achieve, the drama of dealing with expectations of their family and trying to maneuver the relationship/friendship in the mist of all of this happening at the same time.

Sting really didn't win me over in the beginning, and I truly found myself questioning some of the decisions that Rosie made. All and all it was an enjoyable and sometimes funny read and a true 4 STAR WINNER!!!

And it did... took my breath away! Amazing well written story with lots of chemistry, realistic storyline and plot. Characters that feel real and likeable. They are well described and develops nicely through the story. Their chemistry is over the top and you just feel with them and for them. I sometimes felt I was right there with them.
An amazing story about two families that have issues and their children are therefor off limit for each other. But fate has its own opinion about that. But can they fight their attraction and feelings. They fit so well together but can they make it in spite of the family feud?
A must read that has it all. A mix of emotions, twists, drama, family issues, chemistry and passion.

Who says childhood friendships have to die. Not Rosalind (Rosie) or Stirling (Sting). For years their families got on until the fathers had a fallout. Now they can’t keep in touch with each other until now. Back in college, they can’t fight what should be happening, renewing their friendship. Although Sting is a player, he still watches over Rosie. I think because she loves him , she tolerates it. After all, they aren’t exclusive until one day emotions and hormones kick in. Interesting to see how they dealt with their feelings, College parties and girls and remaining true to each other..mostly. A kind of a Romeo and Juliet but much better. Who would have thought a little or big surprise would solve all their problems. Loved it

Great book about two families who grow up together from little kids to high school. But something happened between the fathers/husbands that torn each family away from each other. Rosie and Sterling go to the same College and become friends and then it turns into a relationship that Sterling doesn't want to call it a relationship. They don't tell there families that they talk to each other or are seeing each other or are even friends. But when Sterling can't stay away from Rosie and then she becomes pregnant they have to tell the families after they both admit their in love with each other. The two of them have to battle so many obstacles to have a life together but they do it in the end. Great romance friend to lovers story. Must read. Enjoy reading books from this author when available.

Two families that used to like each and whose kids used to play together are put on separate paths because of the Fathers' needs to one up each other and make money. Rosie and Sterling lived down the street from each other and were best friends until their Dads basically declared war between the families. The mothers and kids were no longer allowed to associate. Sterling and Rose go to the same college and reconnect but keep it hidden from their families. Here is where the story gets really good. There are a few misunderstandings between Sterling and Rosie, sex, a little bit of tear-jerk moments and Daddy vs Child arguments. Good read.

Take My Breath Away. This book was interesting and enjoyable. I was surprised that there was so many sex scenes. I think it was a little overboard with the sex. But the story was good. Sterling and Rosie had been friends forever and now that they are in college they took it to the next level even though they knew the animosity between their families was bad. It didn't stop them from connecting and causing both families to have to put away the hatred and learn to respect each other. This is a must read book! Rosie and Sterling were childhood best friends until their dads became business competitors and they had to stop. When they went to college they started up their friendship again. Rosie always had a thing for Sterling and he did for her just never realized it. Sterling is nothing but a man whore in the highest degree. Sleeping with any and every girl possible. Rosie isn’t anything like that. I felt she was too good for Sterling although he finally came around to be good but I was just disgusted with his actions while he was with her. They were well developed characters and had the rich family troubles as both their parents were trying to set them up with other people.
