When I see it, I want it. I’m one of the highest paid NHL players in the whole league because I play fucking hard. I earn my goddamn check. I may not be The Darling of the league - I don’t have a great reputation - but Ryan Hart ain’t got nothing on me.
I collect things. Cars, real estate properties, women.
I throw money at people. They do what I want. Women fuck me. I have my own fucking harem.
But when I meet Richelle at a private auction, everything f*cking changes.
I have to have her, no matter what it costs me. I’ll outbid this whole damn planet to make her mine. To take her home with me. To make her say Daddy when I make her lose control.
God, she looks so innocent...
Luckily, she needs money or else she wouldn’t be here. I buy her and now she’s mine.
Now, she can’t say no...
And why would she want to?
This erotic sports romance features steamy erotic scenes in almost every chapter. Do not read if you want to stay cool and dry. HEA guaranteed!
Heather C. Myers heats things up with THE CAPTAIN, the second book in The Bad Boys of the NHL series. Team captain of the Houston Rangers, Brad, buys Richelle at a private auction. This erotic sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
Brad is a fascinating character. He is a collector. Sex is about pleasure and not emotion for him. That is until he meets Richelle. I like that he wants Richelle to enjoy herself, and that he is not selfish. I appreciated that Richelle has a noble reason for auctioning herself off. She’s innocent and desperate. The two have a fiery chemistry.
I enjoyed the psychological aspect to the story. Both characters go into the situation thinking no feeling would be involved and end up being wrong. The story is skillfully written. THE CAPTAIN is a quick and heated read. I recommend it to people who enjoy erotic sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This story was just ok, lacked something and had some things that are not my fav - insta-love and Daddy thing. Brad is the captain of the team. He has things for possession and that's not an easy thing to let go. So his behavior was artificial as even with some events there was no conflict or so. Richelle is a virgin, and after a little time, she was like a master in sex... well no way. I liked that Richelle had her aim in her mind for the whole time.
The Captain is the book in the Bad Boys of the NHL series. While this is part of a series, it is a standalone with no cliffhanger. This is a short quick read. The sex is hot and steamy and includes some auction scenes so 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. I normally don't like insta-romances, but this wasn't typical. Don't expect much dialogue or plot but it is a nice diversion. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author including more in this series.
I am not normally a fan of sports related romance BUT Ice Hockey is an exception. I admit off the bat, I LOVE the games & especially the fights (but that's ME). Anyway, this is a quick sexy story of Richelle (h) a college student (~ 22 yrs old) who desperately needs money & a LOT of it & Brad (H), the Captain of a Houston Ice Hockey team who hires a woman every season to be available at his beck & call to supply his sexual needs without involving emotions or the need to constantly search for a sexual partner. And Brad has money, a LOT of it & when his go to Madam & her ladies are suddenly unavailable for a time, Brad visits an 'auction' where he 'purchases' Richelle's virginity & sexual services for 30 days. Though this is a short story, it doesn't come across that way, the author gives the reader alternating POV's for Brad & Richelle, cluing us into why they are each doing what they are, how they feel about their actions & how they both begin to segue from a 'business' arrangement into something that just may be more. I found both characters extremely likable, Brad was upfront about his wants & needs, & put them in a contract to avoid misunderstandings. He was self centered but wasn't a mean or cruel person, just determined to remain unencumbered by any emotional ties to any specific woman. And Richelle, although viewed 'selling' herself as a form of prostitution, had an understandable & desperate reason for doing so, & fully accepted the terms to which she had agreed. (NOTE: Other than Richelle calling Brad 'Daddy' occasionally during sex, it wasn't mentioned) But things, circumstances & especially, people, tend to change causing Brad & Richelle to make serious decisions about each other & their arrangement. I heartily recommend this one if you want a fast, steamy, relatively low angst romance that IMO is very well written & one which I enjoyed very much.

This was a cute story but something was missing. I believe it was conflict. The main characters are Brad and Richelle. Brad is the captain of the Stanley Cup winning Houston Rangers. The new hockey season will be starting soon and he is trying to arrange his “entertainment” for the season. It is Brad’s habit to hire a woman for the hockey season. While this may seem tawdry, it actually makes sense. He has a desire he wants to fulfill for a short period of time and then walk away. By hiring a prostitute, the relationship is defined with no mixed signals and both parties know what to expect. That is, until he buys Richelle’s services for a month at an auction. I’m tired of the 20-something year old virgin being sold at auction set up, but this part ends quickly. What starts as a business deal soon becomes more on both their parts. In fact, it seems too quick. Which leads to my problem with the story. Where stories are usually boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy wins girl back and happily ever after, The Captain is boy meets girl, boy wins girl, happily ever after. It reads like there are a few chapters missing in the middle where the meat of the story should be. That being said, this is an enjoyable story and a nice way to kill a few hours. If you are a fan of Heather C. Myers Slapshot Series, you will enjoy The Captain. You will just wish there was more of it.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is steamy and sweet. Brad is dominant and unemotional, until he gets home with Richelle, then, unintentionally, he starts thinking about how Richelle feels. Richelle is smart, studious and caring, she only auctioned herself because she needed money to pay for her mother's medical treatments. Brad usually uses a madame to get his season girl, but his got busted. He ended up at the auction as a way to get a temp girl, then, when it was announced that Richelle was a virgin he decided that no matter how much it cost, he would have her. He didn't expect her to be any different than any other girl of his, and she wasn't, until he took her virginity. Then he found himself being gentle and caring about her feelings and wondering what she was hiding. She found herself falling in love, despite the knowledge that he had bought her and was using her. Because he was the opposite if what he said he would be. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
I read the first book in this series a couple of months ago. I didn't love it, but it was an okay read, and I really like this author. So I gave this book a chance. I really enjoyed this book a lot. It has a very dark beginning, with Brad purchasing Richelle and her services for a month. He doesn't do relationships; she's inexperienced, and needs money to pay for her mother's cancer treatment. She finds her heart falling for him, but her head reminds her that this is only temporary. He begins to feel very possessive about her, and realizes that this is so much more than he thought he wanted. They're finally able to be honest with each other about how they feel. Looking forward to other books in this bad boy series.

Loved this book. You have a H who doesn't believe in relationships and he pays women to be his for a season and then he's done with them They must live with him, sign an NDA and be available for sex when he wants it. When the woman he normally gets his women from gets busted he breaks down and goes to an auction. He finds sweet, virginal Richelle and he wants her. Richelle doesn't really want to have to be auctioning herself off, but with her mother being sick she has no choice, they need the money. Grab this book to find out what happens between this innocent woman and the "dog" of the NHL. Great read and I highly recommend it!

This is the second book in The Bad Boys of the NHL series. What better way to get right down to it then by having a close look at the team captain, Brad. To be honest, I don't like this guy. He has a$$hole stamped with ALL CAPS all over him. This guy will get under your nails and drive you crazy. However, fate gives him a swift kick in the butt when he goes to a virgin auction and finds Richelle. This is where fate and karma bite back hard and the ground shifts underneath Brad. This was a very busy book and it was a quick read, I think a little longer just to further round out a couple corners would have been good but not to worry, all strings are tied in bows by the end of the book.

There's a little more depth in this virgin-auction insta-love romance.
Brad likes the convenience of arranging for one girl to tend to his needs throughout the season, and this time he tries an auction. Richelle is only offering herself up for the altruistic need for quick cash, and accepts that this is her best option. Good thing they're both extremely attractive and have an amazing chemistry together.
As the insta-love deepens into something more permanent and all the secrets come to light, the story wraps up predictably yet satisfyingly. Both MC are likable and relatable, making it easy to root for their HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a great little read. Brad has always brought his woman for the up coming hockey session. He didnt need the stress of relationships and this really worked for him. But when he bid and won Richelle at a private auction all reasoning went out the window. Richelle was only at the auction to get money to pay for her mothers cancer treatments but was she ready for Brad?? I loved this book it was full of passion but also was a heartfelt romance. I hope there are many more short stories that just whisk you away .

Heather C Myers always writes a great book around the world of hockey and this is no exception
Brad is one of the highest paid hockey stars around he is also the captain of the Stanley Cup winning Houston Rangers it is the start of the new season so time for him to purchase his latest but of arm candy for the season. See he doesn't want attachment he just wants sex so hiring a prostitute for the season works for him but this year he ends up with a virgin who has sold herself for honourable reasons. Brad will end up with more than he bargained for as he starts to find himself falling for his latest acquisition There will be plenty of emotion as these two fight their way to a HEA
Brad is the captain of a professional hockey team. Each season he pays one woman to be with him for the season then part ways after. This season is different. He goes to an auction and ends up paying for Richelle. At first he was leary of auction but when he saw her he had to have her. Richelle needs money quickly. Her mom is sick and needs treatments. She does the only thing she can think of to earn money that fast. She sells her virginity. Brad knows Richele is different. Can she be the one to settle him down? Read and find out. This is book two in this series but can be read as standalone.

This is a short, wicked little book that plays with a few taboos. Most notably the virgin auction, then we play off the daddy/baby-girl scenario for a bit. We take the older man/younger woman setup for a spin, though it sounds like this book has nothing on what’s coming at us in the next one. The chemistry between Brad and Richelle is combustible. It’s not quite instant, but it doesn’t take much to start it burning hot, then it lights the pages on fire. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
I enjoyed this book. I thought it had a nice balance between heat and heart in this read. I liked both characters and thought they had hot chemistry. I could sympathize with Richelle. Desperation and love can force you to make choices you would never expect t make. Brad was jaded and could be a jerk. However, I never felt that he was a truly bad guy. I enjoyed the romance that blossomed between these two and watching the emotional connection grow and deepen between them. This is my freely posted, frank review.
A fast paced sexy hot read. You will not put this one down till the end for sure. Brad is cocky, sexy alpha male who is a professional hockey player with a dark side. Richelle is the young virgin who is in a tight spot and ends up at an auction and that is where Brad see her and wants her. This is their hot sexy story, great story, off the charts chemistry. This is the second book in this series, can't wait to read the rest.

Okay I have to say I didn’t like Brad all that much. He’s cocky and a bit of a manwhore. No sorry not a bit a total one. Sees women as nothing more then something to use. But by the end he redeemed himself. I just wish there was a bit more to their love story. Really enjoyed this read and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

The Captain is the second book in the Bad Boys of the NHL series. This can be read as a standalone. The sex is hot and steamy, so 18+. If you like hockey and romance, then this series is for you. Now, I'm not usually a fan of "insta romance" stories, but this author does a good job of writing them and getting you caught up in the feelings they have.
He is well paid but a bad boy. Whatever he what he gets as he will pay. He sees her at an auction and he knows she must need money. He will buy her and he will make her feel special so special she will never leave. Can he do it? See if he can

Brad is one of those guys that at first you kinda love to hate, but he does grow on you. Richelle is in a hard spot and makes a life changing decision that brings them together. A deal is struck that results in big changes for and in both of them Will it be enough for a hea? Lots of heat!
This new series is a bit darker, a touch kinkier, and the alpha males are more dominant, cocky, controlling and arrogant (sigh)! The stories are a bit forbidden, a touch gritty, and steamier than previous series. They focus more on the players than the games. Brad and Richelle's story is hot and a must read.

Wow! I was hooked from the first page. This is a quick great read. Loved Ryan and Richelle’s story. I was only disappointed when the story ended, because I wanted more! I was given an ARC for a review.
