Greatfall: A Silo Novel is a dark new tale in the world of Wool, Hugh Howey’s beloved post-apocalyptic novel. What happens when a silo goes dark? Maya has been sent to Silo 23 to investigate. Disconnected from the grid, Silo 23 appears to be dead, rotted from within. But what Maya finds when she opens the hatch is a silo that is anything but deceased. Unplugged from the outside world and its sister silos, Silo 23 has mutated into something unexpected and far more horrifying than Maya could have anticipated.

Insidious and cunning is the evil that can infect certain societies.
All it took was the prologue to get me hardcore hooked and racing to the end.
We now get to experience how a silo works in a theocratic society, and it is both fascinating and terrifying. Each child must go through a ceremony at age thirteen to find out their station in life. Some end up happy, and some never feel anything again.
The actions that humans can normalize is shocking ... this story is an example of one of the darkest paths that can be taken. The book is riveting, the twists stunning, and it is a great addition to the Wool universe.
Gurley puts a new twist on WOOL and presents a credible scenario of what was occurring in one of the ‘dark’ silos, which we didn’t really get to fully explore in Hugh Howey’s body of work. Kudos to Howey for allowing other authors a stab at parallel novels to the Silo series - itching to start ‘Book of Matthew’ to continue in Silo 23’s adventures. Also excited to try out some of the other authors’ takes on the post-apocalyptic WOOL world.
This was a good (but not great) book. Gurley did a good job transporting the reader into the stifling confines of the silo and added a theocratic twist. Multiple spelling & grammar issues broke the immersion a bit. If you're a sensitive reader, note that this book is a bit brutal in places. I recommend this book to anyone exploring silo world fan fiction.
This is a great addition to Hugh’s Silo stories. Spun to a dark story it will keep you from putting it down with anticipation for the next page. Worth the minimal cost ! Thoroughly enjoyed the plot and writing, so will you.
Greatfall is a very well thought out addition to the silo family. The writing is really good and the storyline is not transparent. A HH and silo must read
My favorite fan fiction from the Silo universe. A darker view of life underground. Shows the dark side of humanity that we are all capable of. Great read!
