I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes...

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain crosseyed.

Stuck in the Underworld Evie still has about 2 weeks to go before she can transfer the mantle of power to Julian again.
When Daniel, the assistant of the late Marcellus arrives in the Underworld, things will be revealed that turns her world upside down. She wants, no, she needs answers and much needed closure. Evie sets out to Tartarus accompanied by Gavriel. Checklist: pass test, stay alive oh and yeah... get back to Julian in time.

My take on the book:

Another great book! I feel the primary arc has been resolved and is closed, some loose ends here and there, but overall time for a new chapter!

World-building was good, the journey to Tartarus and Elysium were very well described. It made for very easy and immersive reading.

Character development was good, we get to know a lot more about Evie and even Gavriel. My heart bled for her at times, but determined to find her answers and get closure she always kept her head high. Or she fainted, one or the other!

Pacing and flow were good, though it did feel like the end was pretty sudden. I would like to say to the author... romance or relationships are NOT a bad thing ;)
So yeah, hope we get some follow up on this :)

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and all in all I'm really looking forward to the next instalment. Hope we get to see more of Julian!! How will Evie get out of the next tricky situation?

I am very pleased with the fact that it starts off right where the first one left off. The continuation makes it seem as if we are just reading one big, same book. Love a Good and seamless transition. I also enjoyed the fact that the author manages to keep up the momentum, the suspense, the curiosity and adventure that was present in the first installment. Requiem is a fine follow up in the Chronicles of the Irin series.
I received a complimentary copy of this title and have voluntarily reviewed it.

This book picks up right where Retribution ended, which makes it feel like you are just reading one really long book. I love it when authors do this! I love opening the book and being thrust right back into the action and intrigue. I love the story telling, and the way that things get revealed. Everything works to keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. We find out answers to some of the questions from book one, but we are left with more questions at the end. I am anxiously waiting to find out what happens next!

T.G. Ayer’s Requiem is the perfect book 2 followup to her Retribution, the opener of her DarkWorld: Irin Chronicles series. Almost poetically beautiful but totally and excitingly full of action in yet another rollercoaster with its unique revamping of Hades, angels, gods and do much more. I’m totally enjoying watching Evie grow and develop in a story with a perfectly executed plot full of wonderfully well-crafted. You really can’t go wrong with this book so of course I highly recommend it. My only complaint? Now I have to wait for book 3.

I liked this book because a lot of the MANY loose ends from the first book were tied up neatly, but a few still had bits to carry into the next book.

Some parts seemed very detailed, and then toward the end the journey was just over, which was a bit confusing. Perhaps it was due to who the main character was at the time?

I'm looking forward to seeing where the romantic parts go, and how to get out of the ending situation...but have some ideas. I'm also looking forward to finding out if someone she's looking for is who I think they are :-)

I have been provided with a copy of Requiem by the author for an impartial review. This is the second book in The Chronicles of the Irin series and I loved getting to go back into this world and see some characters that I had previously met and really liked. It was great to see Evie were she had previously left off and to see what is going on now and to see what new troubles she can get herself into. This book just had me and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Evie and Julian have to figure out how to reverse what the discs did. Even with some dark angels interfering time is running out.

Somehow Evie keeps her focus on what’s important, despite all the distractions.
It feels like the dark ones are with many more than the light so it’s not easy to keep going.
I admire her tenacity and trust in following her gut feelings. Even if they don’t make sense.

This is the second book in this series and I'm so glad I was able to read one after the other! The story continues for Evie in this one . It picked up where it left off in the first and is even more fun to read. So intense and attention grabbing. Look forward to reading more books T.G. Ayer

I love when a following book picks up where the previous one left off!! The characters are great, even the ones you love to hate! The storyline was interesting and answered any questions from the previous book. I did feel it ended quickly.

Requiem (Chronicles of Irin Book 2 by T.G. Ayer)

We start out in Hell ... where every Nephilum dreams of ruling one day ... 😂
Trying to find someone who should innately love you and want to be found. Do they really? "Those how search may not always find exactly what they are looking for. "
I am saying right now, without dropping spoilers, that person is right there! Now, will Evie recognize it and will they admit it? Ok after a few more chapters, an angel battle & a confession ... I was wrong. OMG ... This can't be Good!

Oh My Julian! The sexy "former" Hades King of Hell ... might be worth staying for!

Holy Fallen Angels Batman! Gabriel (Gavriel) & Daniel ... This could spell trouble! Oh, it spells trouble, a battle, injured angels & confessions that may be unwelcomed.

Twists a plenty ... looking forward to Resonance!

This is a great read. From the first word it grabs ahold of you and doesn't let go till the end. Evangelion is in hades and has to stay from 28 days so that she can five Julian back his title ruler of the underworld. Evie is also on the hunt for her father but she thinks she has found him in hades as a prisoner. The only thing is someone is coming after her to get the seals so he can take over hades for himself. Daniel is not who she thinks she is and Daniel wants her dead. Will Evie be able to hold on to the seals and find her father or will her will get turned upside down? I'm so fascinated by this author. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I give this book a 5 fang review. Reviewer for PRAATR

Still the reigning Ruler of the Underground, Evie travels to the pits of Hell with Archangel Gavriel to confront her father the Archangel Daniel.

The journey is treacherous and time is running out. Evie faces many challenges and with Gavriel unable to help, she wonders if confronting her father worth risking her life.

With only days to spare, she finally is able to confront her father but almost dies in the process.

Secrets and betrayal unfold in the end. And OMG the ending I was on pins and needles.

I received this book in exchange for a honest review. I loved it but another cliffhanger again tee! It had so many twists and turns, im not sure I could go through what she did but she is very strong. I look forward to the next book to find out if anything happens with evie and julien. I hope she gets out of her new issue, I would hate if the next book was her end. I love the strongness of evie she is an inspiration to the rest of us, who face a lot of crazyness in our own lives.

A story of faith, hope and loss. Finding out who you are isn't about your genetic makeup and that your just because someone shares your DNA doesn't make them a parent. I can't wait to see what happens to Evie next.
