I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes...

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain crosseyed.

Maximus "Max" Vissarion’s meeting with Pythia Aurelia Julian changes his whole world(view). This is Max’s “backstory” prior to his connections with the Dark Sight books. We learn how and why he’s connected with Pythia.

Max’s early life didn’t give any help as he grew up. He’s had a life that could have broken others. The choices he made have made him worthy to be who he is now, taking on tasks and responsibilities way beyond his years.

A quick read that brings depth to the Dark Sight series. Wonderful and Highly recommended.5/5

BOOK REVIEW : VISSARION (BOOK 2.5 A DARK SIGHT NOVEL) : BY T.G. AYER

Loving This Sneak Peak And Small Insight Into A Much Younger Maximus Vissarion!
This Glimpse Into The Past Shows How His Circumstance, His Drive, Ambition, And Dedication Has Shaped The Man, The Legend, The Hero, We Know As Max, Commander Max Vissarion!

My Love of History, Architecture and Mythology All Get Mashed Up & Rolled into One,
In This Great Adventure Series, Vissarion (Book 2.5 A Dark Sight Novel)

Set in present day, but in a world of Ancient Civilisations too. Imaginative, original and well researched. I love everything about this series, from seeing the first book cover to this last Vissarion and just knowing I had to read the whole series, to the original world they live in,
the mythology, to the main and supporting characters, the way the talk, to the action and adventure and to the way the main characters support & play off each other. I just love it!

This is only the third book of T.G. Ayer's I have read, but it certainly will not be the last!
I can not wait to read Book 3, Shadow Sight in the Dark Sight Series, but it will be a killer wait over the next few weeks, but I at least I can scratch that itch by reading one of her many other amazing looking & sounding series that have some of the best book jackets I have ever seen!

Well Written, An Original And Imaginative World I Wish To Visit Time & Time Again!
Authors Like Us To Compare Their Books To Other Great Authors, Series Or Even A Similar Movie, But This Series Is So Unique, There Is Honestly Nothing I Know Of That I Can Compare It Too. I Rate This Incredible Book and Series 4.3⭐️ Out of 5⭐️
I read an advanced reader's copy of this book and this is my honest and impartial review.

Fans of Annie Bellet and Lindsey Hall will love Vissarion by T.G. Ayer, a novella that gives us some background into the story of Max. He is Immunis, and connected to the line of the Pythias by virtue of his ability to repel their sight. He is also destined to be the mate of the Pythia, though not Aurelia, the Oracle to whom he is currently bound. We see how his mind works, particularly as he is sent to alter the visions of doom and destruction that Aurelia receives. Sometimes he’s successful, sometimes not, but he is always quick to act, decisive, heroic and brave. Max is fiercely loyal and committed, putting his sense of duty and obligation before his own happiness and well being. Above all he is worthy, and this is his story before it picks up with his current life when he meets Allegra in Dark Sight, and will continue throughout the series as their destinies are intertwined.
If you’re following this series you will enjoy seeing the events that shaped Max Vissarion and puts him on the path he is destined to walk.

People often ask me what a book compares to. I should know as I read tons and tons of Sci Fi and Fantasy. T.G. Ayer’s Vissarion: A Dark Sight Novel #3 is a good example why. It’s too freaking original to compare to other books. That’s true of the whole series, which I guess makes it simply incomparably delicious.

I love the whole idea of “Commander Vissarion of the Federal Agency for Paranormal Affairs of the New Germanic States”. Having been blown over by Allegra Damascus' (and Max’s) story in the first two books of this series, Dark Sight and Cursed Sight, it’s a pleasure to see what shaped the Max Vissarion we readers have come to know.

Highly recommended.

A great read!

Max Vissarion has a history with the Pythias...

And in this novella, it explores this history with the Pythias. A short, quick novella about the MC's life when he first met the Oracle and his life changed...forever. We first see the changes in this novella - training, learning to interpret the Oracle's prophecies and so on.

I loved this small glimpse into the MC's younger life - I enjoyed reading about his life with the Oracle, seeing his interactions with her and how he came to be at her side. So remarkably interesting!

Full of oracles, Immunis, prophecies, friendships, training and action.

Perfect for readers of urban fantasy novels.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Vissarion: A Dark Sight Novel by T.G. Ayer is the third book in the Dark Sight series. This short novel is actually an insight to Max Vissarion and his tie to the Pythia line. I really enjoyed this read because it gives you Max's background and the experiences that help him develop into his role as The Voice of the Pythia. There is also a strong connection to Aurelia that is made clearer by reading this book. T.G. Ayer is adept at world building and Vissarion gives you a great peek at her character building and depth development. But I recommend this read because it's a great companion to the rest of the series.

Maximus "Max" Vissarion has a chance meeting with Pythia Aurelia Julian that changes his whole world. Max undergoes specific training as liaison to the Pythia. He doesn't always understand Aurelia's commands yet obeys them anyway. Aurelia is training Max for his future as Immunis to the next Pythia which angers him. Will Max complete his training? Your answers await you in Vissarion.

This series keeps me on my toes that's for sure. The characters and story are rich, complex, complicated, bold, unique, fascinating, and real. I really enjoyed getting to know Vissarion better as a character. I look forward to the next book in this series.

How do you compare something completely original as this series is? T.G. Ayer is one of a kind when it comes to telling a story! Her characters are so well put together! Max Vissarion is definitely one of a kind. He goes with his gut and trusts implicitly what the Oracle tells him. She chose him to be her Immunis. He is the one who risks everything to bring her visions or stop her visions from coming to light. I loved being able to understand more about he came to be the man he is. If you haven't read the series I say its a must read! Original and very compelling!

This was a great look at why Max Vissarion is the way he is. He had an easy childhood but a tough young adulthood. He loved and lost, even if it was by choice. He took on a great responsibility before he was even an adult and stuff like that changes a person.

Like the other books in this series it is well written. The world is well constructed and the characters jump off the page!

It is a great quick read ... give it a go!

This book is part of the "Dark Sight" series but it tells the story of Maximus "Max" Vissarion and how he became the Immunis or "voice of the Pythia". Basically that means he is immune to the seers touch and she can't see his future.

I don't usually read the little side stories in a series. I usually don't think they add to the story much since they are so short. However, I did read this one, and I'm glad that I did. Finding out Max's backstory has given me a whole new appreciation for why he is the way he is, and has answered a lot of my questions about him. Anyone who is a fan of Max will love this one.

This book gives more details about the history of Max Vissarion, prior to the first book in the trilogy.

Much of the history is in the first two books, but not the details. This gives more details, and some insight into Max's history and feelings prior to book one.

Overall it was enjoyable, and is a very short easy read.

The current Pythia finds Max and tells him he is the Voice of the Pythia. At first, he thinks she must be nuts. He trains with her to prepare himself to help stop catastrophic incidents.
Plenty of action and twists, well written, with a great plot and characters, couldn't put it down!

Now we know part of the past of our magnificent, mysterious and courageous commander Vissarion! I wish the book had been longer. Max is a fascinating character who deserves that his story before knowing Allegra was told in more depth.
Max Vissarion is one of those rare characters that feel like you've known them all your life, not just as a fictional character but as someone real.

I was happy to get a copy of this book from the author and it gave an excellent backstory view into Max’s early years. I was also glad to get more insight to the Pythia lineage but understood Max's confusion over the training he was receiving. The story is well written and love the characters true to life interaction. Ayer's is fast becoming a keeper on my author shelf.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy I received from the publisher.

This is a nice little book that gives us a look at Maximus Vissarion's life and how he came to be the Guardian of the Pythia in TG Ayer's Dark Sight series.

It's a fun story and helps explains how Max got to be the person he is. It's also a sweet story about his friendship with Aurelia, the Pythia prior to Allegra.

I was not quite sure I would like this one but I did. You get a more larger picture on Vissarion which happened to be needed after all. It doen't take long but still wraps around you have you disappear for a minute into this one.
