89 books116 followers To know me is to love me. My identity begins with my name but makes a statement with my pen. I'm a mother of two and a wife of one. My love for writing began at the age of two. That's right I first wrote my name at the age of two and I've been writing ever since. Growing up I always felt invisible. I suffered from that 'Middle Child Syndrome', so when my voice wasn't heard, I made my own story.
My journal and my pen became my companion. I would write stories where my characters looked like me (thick, tall, and pretty), they loved to read, was educated, and realistic. The older I got the more my imagination grew, which caused my stories to be more diverse.
Becoming an author came about in an unintentional way. I've been through many things in my adult life. My husband, who's my backbone, has always admired my strength. We suffered a devastating loss, our daughter. My husband urged me to tell my story, to be a light for someone else. I took him up on his advice and wrote my pains and truths.
I love weaving stories, touching readers with relatable characters and situations. I give life lessons, unconditional love, dedication, a little crazy, and a whole lot of truth. I have a saying that I live by; 'I don't just write books;I tell stories'.

Great Story!
I love the flow of the storyline from beginning to end. This story was full of drama, love, soul searching, independence and sexuality. Sometimes God have us go through things that will help us to grow stronger to become a better and wiser person, no matter what the journey held or holds for us. I respect and understood the cause and effect of why Bijou didn't experience a lot in her life. Bijou and Dallevante were two souls that were meant to reconnect and explore the true meaning of soul mates. The chemistry they had for one another was mind blowing. I love Dallevante protective pull to her. How he submitted to her by becoming her protector, supporter and her lover unconditionally. Happy that things worked out for her and now they both can enjoy their happy ever after. Now I will like to see Dallas end up with a soul mate of his dreams. Where he can have a happy ending as well. Full circle!!!
Who would’ve thought her dreams would of become a reality. Major allowed greed and anger to cloud his judgement. Dallas was a real good brother and very supportive. Liv she’s a firecracker takes no mess anyone but the way she loves Oasim is like no other. Dalle and Bijou the way they captured each other through songs were indescribable, when he told her he heard her, that’s exactly what he meant....

Soooooo Good!!!
This was so good, refreshing, really not what I expected and all throughout the book, the only thing I was thinking was how do I get another of this author's book... I could not even remember whom I was reading except that this author was good, very good...

Talented storyteller
You have a definite talent for storytelling. I loved how the family and friends loved each other and I loved how positive he men were except fit the uncle of course. I really loved how the dancer got checked for her behavior. What I didn’t love was the editing or lack there of. Please proofread and proofread again before releasing your work. Poor editing takes away from the respect for your artistry and the reading pleasure.

Awesome
This was an awesome story. Family betrayal is real. Bijou my heart broke for her so many times. I’m glad she had Dalley to fix her broken heart. I would like to read a story about Dallas. I love how Dalley and Dallas were with each other. Her publicist loved Bijou and everybody was there for her.

Good book
I really enjoyed this book. I loved Dalley and Bijou story is was so cute. I loved the way he came in her life and she changed to a more outgoing person. I liked how she knew that her family were users and out their place. I loved the way Dalley took care of her he was so attentive and affectionate. I can't wait for your next book

This is Dallevante Staple and Bijou Robinson's 💘 story. For me, the mystery portions was what I enjoyed the most. That's more my speed. I like the "who done it and why" aspect of this book. I also liked the plot. And, YES there is a HEA for the ❤ of lovers.

Wow
This book was deep. Where to start I loved it. These characters kept you wondering what was to come next. I love how Dally loved Biijou. He loved her from the top of her head to the bottom of her toes. He made her see all will be ok. Dallas is funny. Kendra I love your work. You did a great job

Lovely
This was such a great book. I loved everything about it. I was glad Bijou was able to let that hurt go and get the answer/closure she needed to be able to move forward with her life. Dallevante came in right on time and was and to love that hurt up out of her. I loved the closeness with their family and friends. Great book, I wouldn't mind seeing a spin off with Dallas

Kendra you never disappoint and always bring the fire. Not only a well written story, but well developed characters, great drama and more. Every time i see a book with your name as the author i have to purchase it and can't wait to start reading. Job well done and i can't wait to see what is to come next.

Great Love Story
Man tjis was really good. Dalley loved his Bijou. Their love oozed off the pages. Good mystery too. I was right who I thought it was. That auntie was a piece of work. Oasim played no games about Bijou. Liv was crazy as ever. Dalley was so sweet loving caring and all the above. Would like to hear about Dallas.

Nice change, much different
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a nice change from always reading about an ex girlfriend who didn’t want to let go. I absolutely loved Daley’s commitment to Bijou. He loved her and never once waived from that. That’s what I’m talking about, good job Kendra.

Another page turner
This book was wonderfully written and touched my soul. I really love all Kendra Sumter books!!! She does us plus size women damn good!!! The messages she delivers in her book is heartfelt. Amazing Story!
Lady, you have done it again! I absolutely love your books, but this one made me fall in love with your writing all over again!! Bijou is a warrior, so strong! Great book.
I loved how the love story unfolded, Dalley and Bijou are goals. I loved how he knew he loved her from the start and never gave up on her, I also liked how he healed her soul, Just beautiful.

Very well written
This was an excellent standalone and I loved the storyline. It was easy to follow and sucked me in from the first page. Dellavante is definitely bae in this book and I loved the way he loved Bijou. there is plenty of plot twists and drama to entertain!
