In The Gatekeeper's Sons, Therese and Thanatos, the god of death, met and fell in love. In The Gatekeeper's Challenge, they did everything they could to be together, even break an oath on the River Styx. But the Olympians don't tolerate oath-breakers. In this third book in the saga, The Gatekeeper's Daughter, Therese may have finally succeeded in becoming a goddess, but if she wants to remain one, she'll not only have to discover her unique purpose, but also make some allies among the gods. Artemis sends her on a seemingly impossible quest across the world, while Than searches for a way to appease Ares. To make matters worse, her baby sister's life depends on the outcome of her quest.

I just couldn´t stop reading. There was a lot of drama. I kind of still hold a grudge for Ares. He was such a Pain in the As"#&&...
Therese finally finds her purpose (Kudos for her). I would have been so mad if she didn´t. From the fifteen year old teenage girl we met at The Gatekeeper´s Sons to this installment, Therese looks way much more mature. Ther and Than have to work so much in their relationship because there´s always someone trying to keep them apart. They have one problem, after another, after another and so on. When you think everything is fixed and settled. Pum.!, something else happens.
You have to read the three books to understand the Plot.... Obvioulsy duh.! (Because I´ve read several reviews that say the plot was confusing)...Anyway..Therese and Than have to work separately to get together.. Why?! Because There´s aunt and in order to save it, Therese goes on a mission first by Hera who wants her apple back and then Artemis who wants to get back with her one true love....
There were a lot of good moments that made me chuckle or show a friend what a character said. Unfortunately I was reading it in my jobs computer in a pdf file and I didn´t save any quote :(
Jen being abused as a child by her father was a very strong topic and I think it was some kind of filler in the book. Even though Than switches places with Hip throughout the books we don´t see him very often. I guess Mrs. Pohler is going to use that as reference for a new sequel maybe Jes in love with the God of Dreams ... AKA Hip ?!! If so I would really love to read something of those two ;) Hip is such a player. I hope Eva is working on him for our sake ;).
I can´t really give a whole review explaining my whole likes and dislikes because I would be giving a huge spoiler.!! and you must read this book to make up your mind about it. Everything said here is things we already knew since first and second book.
As always, Pohler manages to remain mythologically accurate while telling a completely unique and one of a kind tale.
This novel picks up right where the previous story in the trilogy left off. Pohler weaves an intriguing and captivataing tale that tells a love story and a tale of self-worth on many different levels. As an amazing storyteller Pohler draws you in with her immaculately put together storyline. She keeps you there with her brilliant descriptions and narrative that are so clear and inviting that they allow you to walk this world with the characters.
Although we got to know many of these characters in the previous novels, their true selves become even more apparent in this novel. Pohler continues to develop the main characters as they continue to grow as individuals and as a couple. She also gives us further insight into the hearts and minds of the supporting characters, allowing her readers to see why and how the conflicts in this novel and the series as a whole, came to pass. Overall, her character development is unique in that the characters, regardless of their age, learn and admit things about themselves as we learn them. Self-growth and realisation is a never-ending process in this story.
This novel was a great ending for the Gatekeeper’s Trilogy, even though I still want more time with these amazing characters who have wormed their way into my heart.
Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.
How do you make the biggest mess, you possibly can? The MCs go on a quest and then promise every god 'anything' if they will just do what they need them to or give them this item. This just got more and more messy until you need a diagram to figure out what is going on. At least the narrator is giving the FMC a more adult voice! Mistake after stupid mistake.
Way to go, Eva Pohler! the Gatekeeper's Daughter the last book in the Gatekeeper's Trilogy is like the perfect bow on a package, the frosting on a cake! As Thanatos and Therese face their final battles against the wills of the gods, I found myself with a death grip on my Kindle! When the last page came, I was contently savoring how wonderful this series was...then I was horrified to realize, THIS WAS IT! Yikes!
Eva Pohler's writing style is like a magnet for me! She weaves the stories of the gods and their superior and often self-serving attitudes with the tale of two people proving their love for each other no matter what obstacle is put in their way. Ms. Pohler allowed us to watch Therese mature and saw how deeply she cared for those around her as she calculated how best to please the gods and keep her friends and family safe, no matter what! And her purpose as a goddess? Perfect!
The pace is fast, the plots and subplots intensely detailed without going overboard, and the role each character played fit like a glove! there was one line toward the end regarding Therese's best friend and Thanatos's brother that had me praying to the gods of Eva Pohler's wonderfully creative mind that there could be more from her, sometime? Soon?
I need to thank the author for providing me this copy to read, enjoy and review! Did I mention I wanted more?

I can't believe this is where I'm at stressing and waiting and begging for book 4. Love always prevails but it sure doesn't make it everything you'd intend. I need answers. Eva keeps me enthralled from start to finish begging for more. By far one of my favorite authors! PLEASE keep them coming! :)
In case you haven't heard, this is not the end of the line for this fascinating world. No longer a trilogy, it's a saga, and the story continues soon. Great news for fans!
For every book in the trilogy, I noticed that something bothered me. For the first book, it was the plot because I didn't really know where the story was heading. For the second, it was some characters such as the lack of Hip's involvement and my annoyance towards Therese. This third one is no different. What bothered me is the lack of a huge twist or conflict. I found that the book was resolved in an anticlimactic kind of way which wasn't fully to my liking. Nevertheless, I applaud the author for the constant improvement in her writing. I found every book to be more enjoyable than the last. This is the struggle of most writers. When they improve in one aspect of writing, they tend to focus most of their attention on that part and less on others, leaving them more or less flawed. That is also the beauty of being a writer. With every story, they are able to address certain shortcomings they have and strive to create better stories. It's very inspiring to see the effort of this author in writing enjoyable stories and how she proves that writing truly is an art that is constantly changing and improving. I cannot wait to see what other adventures Therese and Than will embark in in the second trilogy of The Gatekeeper's Saga.
Thank you Eva Pohler for sending me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review
So this was supposed to be the final of the series and we find that Therese does join Thanatos in the underworld, however it seems that another 3 books have been added to this series! Than is trying to teach Therese how to share his responsibility for ferrying the souls to their destined place of rest and she seems to take to this really well! She is in the meantime trying to find her true purpose otherwise she would not be allowed to stay in the underworld and what she finally sets her heart on is exactly what she is prefect for. However all the dragged out trials that she still has to face become rather tedious and far fetched even though she is now a God in her own right! Also the war God is so vengeful its really annoying and so depressing to see that the Gods are all so petty and that they continuously fight over the most trivial of things! I do believe this is where my series stops as it gets to be a bit too much.

For being the last book in the Trilogy, I was amazed at how it all developed in the end. After being a little disappointed with the outcome of the second book, The Gatekeeper's Challenge, I didn't know what to expect with this one. It was worth the read.
The story takes off when Therese wakes up after being burned to become a goddess. All this against an Oath made by Than and all the Gods, except Dionysus. The life of a goddess isn't an easy task for Therese as she has to finish High School, the welcoming of a new cousin/sibling, her relationship with Than, friends, and finding her one purpose. And the danger of being kidnapped by Ares because she and her future offsprings' with Than can be a danger to the god of war.
I really liked how in this book Eva has you guessing what is going to happen next. And its also a surprise for me when Therese chooses to resume being a normal teenager as much as she cans, even when she's a goddess. Her character stays true to its original self I first knew of in The Gatekeeper's Sons. What I liked the most of her was the fact that she didn't have that bitching aspect she had in a lot of parts in the previous book. She looked more understanding and patient in the situations handed to her in this book. Plus, she was gentle, nice, caring, smart, and a fighting character as always. I like it when characters stay true to themselves and in their own shell they also get to evolve into better people.
While I loved most of the characters, specially Than, I didn't like the gods. Their personalities felt stiff and forced, too formal. When I make a comparison with how Rick Riordan writes of each of the gods, they don't feel that way. Each one of them has their own personality. One's easy-going, one is always moody, funny, serious, wise, crazy, and so on. In The Gatekeeper's Daughter it wasn't so bad, but I feel like it can be improved. With that, they'd be more than amazing :)
The writing style in general was easy to read. Sometimes I struggle with third-person point of view because it feels too formal when reading Young Adult, but here Eva Pohler delivers it so great it often feels like its on first point of view instead. She knows how to play with words to keep you hooked in the story. I can see here how her writing style kept improving from when I read the first book in the series, The Gatekeeper's Sons. And the pacing was amazing! This novel took it to a whole new level the previous two didn't reach. There were times where I felt breathless in action or fighting scenes. I was completely hooked to the story, flying the (electronic) pages away to know what was going to happen next.
Now the only other thing that made me give this book 4 stars instead of 5 was this. I didn't like how some conflicts got solved.
I'll give a brief example to try and not spoil much. There's a scene where Therese is stuck holding the sky. And she thinks to build some columns (or something like that) to keep the sky high and in its hold. I think "This isn't going to work because if that was the case, someone would have thought of a way to keep the sky from the earth and free Atlas. Or even Atlas himself would have done something like that". But things get resolved and Therese is away from the sky and all that sudden life-changing problem. Boom, its no problem now and it was solved in five pages. Some problems got solved right away and way too easy. And some of these problems were very important in the story. While some took a lot of pounding and thinking to solve, others were instant. It didn't convince me enough. And this specially happened int he last few chapters of the book. it was going so good when this started to happen. It all ended (kind of) happily ever after. There wasn't the kind of struggle I expected given the things Therese and Than went through because of Ares and the other gods.
All in all, it was a good ending to the Trilogy. And because of this book, I'll be keeping a watchful eye because Eva Pohler plans on publishing more books with Therese and Than in them, plus Jen and Hipnos too ;) The Gatekeeper's House comes out November 1st. The Gatekeeper's Secret will be released April first of next year, and the final book, The Gatekeeper's Promise in November of next year, too.
If you like Greek mythology, I'm sure you'll enjoy these books. A must read for all lovers of the Greeks.
Usually when it comes to sequels, I get a little hesitant about reading them because they are almost never as good as their original. I immensely enjoyed the first two books of the Gatekeeper’s Saga, and so I began to worry that maybe this book wouldn’t live up to those standards? However, this book was even better than the last two- though, it shouldn’t have really been surprising because Eva Pohler is just so ridiculously talented that it kills me.
From the moment this book started, it drove me absolutely crazy (in a good way). I was so excited to be back in this world with Therese and Than, but mainly Hip (let’s be honest). I think the character’s that Eva has created are so wonderfully written and I particularly like the way she writes each of the gods and goddesses- they are all so different, but they all work so well together. Therese is legitimately one of my favourite young adult protagonists, perhaps even my favourite character ever. I think she is definitely a character that most readers will be able to connect to in some way or another, even if you aren’t off falling in love with the God of Death. Even the characters that aren’t Gods are just perfect- I felt so sorry for Jen throughout this book and I sincerely hope that things get better for her. One of the best things about this series is the pets- Eva never fails to mention them and give them an important role in Therese’s life. It is so very amazing to read this interaction between Therese and her pets, because I think it’s definitely something that most books miss out on. Just another way in which Eva’s books are so unique!
The plot of this book is as amazing as ever. It’s especially amazing how Eva always manages to slip things in from the previous books- I swear, she never leaves an important thing out of anything. The pacing of this particular was also really good- sometimes I feel like sequels often spend quite a bit of time recapping and whatnot, but this one gets right into the action. Another thing with the pacing is that it was very well done- it was pretty steady throughout the book, there weren’t those long parts where nothing really happens, instead it’s all interesting. Again, this is a pretty rare thing, but as usual Eva does it perfectly. Another thing is the world building- I can’t say I’ve read many books set in mythological settings but Eva does such an amazing job at creating these beautiful scenes and descriptions that are so easy to imagine and really do transport into this world.
I think I should probably stop going on about this book, before things start to get out of control and I begin to decode absolutely every word that Eva has written (I would so go there). But the most important things are that this book is just crazy and brilliant and every other good adjective in the entire world, Eva Pohler is once again the most lovely, talented, amazing author alive and that you should most definitely read this entire series so that you can experience it for yourself. I honestly don’t think I could ever accurately express my love for this series, so please just give it a go for yourself.
DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this novel courtesy of the author through Goodreads First Reads.
I'm giving away copies of all three books in this series on my blog until May 29th, 2013, so if you're interested in them, check it out here!
I have a bit of a love hate relationship with series ending books. Obviously, I almost never jump for joy whenever I see them because, like any dedicated book lover, I don't want to say goodbye to the characters. If I've made it this far in the series, it's probably partly because I've come to love the people I'm reading about, and I don't want to let these new friends go. Who would?
There are a few times, however, when reading the last page in the final book of a series brings a little bit of joy. Not because I'm glad for it all to be done with, but because I finally get that sense of closure that's been missing in the books that came before. Usually, the characters finally get their happily ever afters, and while I may be left with a few questions, the majority of the loose ends are tied up.
This is where The Gatekeeper's Daughter has left me now. I'm still wondering about a few things (like how the episode involving Ares and Atlas may or may not lead to what the Fates described to Therese and Than), but overall I'm happy with where all of the characters have ended up. I don't think that anything should be regretted, and, at least for the time being, there doesn't seem to be any immediate threats looming in anyone's future. While I feel like there are still a few places that this series could go (specifically more on the outcome of Hip's new relationship), I've been left with nothing so pressing that I feel any need to barge fully armed into Eva Pohler's living room. For now.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. There were quite a few moments when I started chuckling because of something that a character said that just nailed their personality for me. There are always those small moments that just feel so right that I can't help but react. The family mechanics of the Greek gods are always interesting to me, considering how someone's always getting married to an extended cousin, sometimes a sibling. You just never know with them.
Of the new characters, Dione was like freaking Wonder Woman, always swooping in to save the day. She was great, and her whole "don't screw with your mother-in-law" act was fantastic and always made me smile. Courtney, I felt, could have been developed a little more. I really didn't end up knowing that much about her as a person aside from her relationship with the Holts. But I was really glad that the issue between Jen and her father was addressed, albeit briefly. Child abuse is a big and scary topic to tackle, and I just feel like it wouldn't have been right to leave that one hanging.
This Review and more my blog Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Series book: Yes Will I read the next book: Last book The Gatekeeper's Daughter was good, but not as easy to get into as the second book in the trilogy. I felt like I was watching a Tyler Perry movie. If you don't understand, here me out. So you start to watch and you like it. You understand the problem and you're waiting for it to be resolved, as you know it will. But then there's another problem. And another. And then you're problem is that you can't keep all these problems straight. That's how I felt reading this book. The writing, already on the line of confusing and engaging in the previous book, took a swan dive off the deep end. I just didn't understand in the beginning how all the problems were related. Because everything happened so quick you didn't have a chance to grasp it. Which shows the importance of pacing in a book. Other than that the writing was good. So the plot was kind of all over the place. Every other chapter or so was written in Than's point of view, and I was annoyed that him and Therese were working in two completely direction for the majority of the plot. I felt like if the two main characters were working together the plot would be easier to follow. I really enjoyed the gods in this book. Especially Hermes. He's like one of my all time favorites now. I wish that we could have seen Hip more in this book, in all three books really, he made the book more fun. I liked how we got to see more of her aunt and uncle in this one, and how we got to understand more of there personal story. I also liked how the Holts got even more serious with their problems and how some of the story was focused on them. The majority of the romance was focused on sex. Just throwing that out there for the younger ones and the easily offended ones. Than spent the whole book basically trying to find a way to make Therese one of the virgin goddesses to protect her from Ares, and the time they spent together was spent making out. SUMMARY OF REVIEW(In case you don't actually feel like reading the review): Writing: 4 out of 5 Plot: 5 out of 5 Characters: 4 out of 5 Romance: 3 out of 5 Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 Rated PG-15 a very obvious focus on sex... Violence
The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was given a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.
In The Gatekeeper's Son Than the God of Death meets Therese when she is in a coma after being in a car accident that killed her parents and they fall in love. In The Gatekeeper's Challenge Therese and Than are trying to find a way to make Therese a Goddess so they can be together. Therese has to go through Challenges to become a Goddess.
In The Gatekeeper's Daughter Therese and Than found a way to make her a Goddess but now they have to find a way for them to be together. One of the Gods does not want them to be together nor have children. Therese and Than have to try and outsmart the Gods and Goddess or they will not get to spend eternity together. The Gods and Goddess put Therese through challenge after challenge just when she thinks she has one completed another one pops up in her way.
I think Therese is learning a lot about herself and what it actually means to help someone with all of the challenges that she is faced with. When you help someone else you are always thinking you are doing a good deed and you are. But like Therese and me have found out there is a fine line between helping someone and being selfish. What I mean is, are you helping someone out of the goodness of your heart? Or, are you helping them for your own self?
I have truly enjoyed reading the Gatekeeper's Trilogy. I have loved reading both Therese and Than's story. I have rooted for them from book one and I hate to leave them now. I can't help but wonder what other challenges they will have to face in their life together. Will they have the family they want? Have they both become stronger for going through all the challenges? Is their love strong enough to go through more challenges? Yeah I think so. They are both very strong people and can overcome any obstacle for their love.
If you have not read The Gatekeeper's Daughter then I highly suggest you do but I do recommend that you The Gatekeeper's Son and then The Gatekeeper's Challenge first. That way you will understand more of what is going on and why they are having to face so many challenges.
Therese and Than fell in love in The Gatekeeper's Sons. In The Gatekeeper's Challenge, Therese was SOOOO close, but ultimately failed her last challenge, so Than broke an oath to turn Therese into a god anyway. Now Therese has to find her purpose in order to remain a god, and Ares is paranoid. With godly powers, Therese may want to get vengeance for her parents' deaths. While that isn't really in her nature, Ares kidnaps her, fearing her potential actions. Will Therese find her purpose so she can remain a god? Will they be able to convince Ares that she is not a threat?
This was a really good read! I may be biased, but I can't recommend this author enough! I read this book and the previous book in one sitting. Probably would've started the next one too if I had had it, as this story just ended too soon for me. The personal strength and the strength of their love, these two take on every obstacle thrown at them, with confidence that it will be overcome, is just amazing. I can't wait to see what else Eva has planned for these two in the near future! If you haven't already, go grab all three books! You won't regret it.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Argh. I've been waiting for book 3, and now I'm left wanting more! When we last left Therese and Than, they had performed the ritual to make Therese a god. Awesome, right? Well, not so much. If she doesn't find a purpose - fast! - she'll go back to being mortal. Oh, and Ares wants to kidnap her because he feelthreatened s by any potential kids she may have with Than. No biggie. Just the god of war, wanting you out of the picture... So yeah, things aren't easy for poor Therese.
The Gatekeeper's Daughter was a fairly quick read. Like the previous two, I didn't want to put this one down. I've grown very fond of Therese and Than over their three books, and I learned a LOT about basic Greek mythology. I have to say, though, most of the gods in this book were, well...major jerks. Except Hades. He was actually pretty cool and did what he could he help Therese with all the obstacles thrown her way. I really enjoyed Therese basically telling them all that they're not perfect and have done some really crappy things throughout history to each other. Her vow to retain her compassion and not become as selfish as the other gods was refreshing and fit very well with her character. As always, the love Therese and Than have for each other is sweet and so touching. I loved how they would go through so much for each other and overcome so much just to finally be together forever.
Though I very much enjoyed The Gatekeeper's Daughter, I was a little disappointed by the end. Why? I don't know. I think I just wanted more. I was bummed out that it ended. I would have liked to have seen the wedding and maybe found out more about their future together. I just felt like there were maybe some loose ends that weren't tied up as well as they could have been. Also...I kinda want more Hip! Maybe a sister series showing his romance with Jen? Oh, I'd love it!
I love this series!! It brings back all the time I spent in my own youth reading Greek and Roman Mythology. I love that we revisit all those tales I enjoyed. Every time a new one comes up I get a happy feeling!!
This is the culmination of the trilogy and love story for Thanatos and Therese. They still have some challenges to face and quests to complete to make things right. This book picks up immediately after the second one finished. Each new quest leads to another and at some point you might think "when will it end?" but if you really think about it that is the way mythology is as well. There is always a twist or another bargain to be made.
I listened to the audiobook and once again love the narrator, Debbie Andreen. She does a fabulous job of bringing the emotions out of the characters and makes the story even more enjoyable. I loved her pace and that each character has a very distinct voice that is easy to differentiate. I have very happy ears and I hope she sticks around for the future books!
I love all the side stories and am thrilled that Ms Pohler decided to make it a saga instead of ending things with a trilogy. There is so much more story to tell and all those secondary characters like Jen, Pete and Hypnos who deserve HEA as well.
I do wonder that the book gets too involved for YA fans but I could be wrong. It might just be the something different they are always looking for! Can't wait to read what happens next.
In the Gatekeepers Saga Therese and Than have had to go through so much to be together. As if dating isn't hard enough! Therese had to go and fall for a God, the God of Death. They managed to fight against all who were apposed to the relationship; Ares specifically. In book 1 The Gatekeepers Son’s Therese was sent into battle to avenge her parent murder. In book 2 The Gatekeepers Challenge she had to complete 5 challenges to prove her worth. Though she failed the last challenge they found a way to make
In this book Pohler starts off right where she left off. Therese a God! Yay!! Something good right? Wrong! In order for Therese to stay a God she must find her purpose. I had my fingers crossed the entire time. ;) Through her contemplation on what her purpose could be we are presented with more obstacles. Out smarting the God’s isn't easy. And when she thinks she has a decent plan something else goes wrong. If Therese is anything, she’s a fighter. She has a caring soul. And even though the odds seem to be against her she pushes on and tries to do the right thing. In the different quest she has to accomplish I believe she grows up and really finds who she wants to be; as a person/God. She finds her purpose and it suites her so well.
The ending was perfect and now that I've finished it I anm so happy more books will be released. There are so many wonderful characters in this story and I want to know more about them.
I spent a good portion of the book very confused. The story starts with Therese being reborn as a God, which was my first clue that I might not have been reading book one. For some reason I had it in my head that this was the first book in the series, so there were times when I felt like I didn't have all of the information. I still feel like I am missing something. That said, if you actually read them in order, I am sure you will understand what is going on immediately.
The story is all about Therese and the God Thanatos doing everything they can to be together. She became a Good to spend eternity with him and the other Goods on Olympus aren't happy about it. Therese wins over several of them as she goes through special quests in order to gain favors for herself and her mortal friends and family. However the Good Ares refuses to be won over. Instead he is determined the two should never weed and especially never have children. How do you defeat the God of War?
It's a very interesting story that gives you a look at how the Greek Gods and Goddesses interact with one another, how petty their arguments can be, and how selfish they really were. It also shows how someone could become a God as well. It's an interesting twist on some of the myths I have always loved.
We left Than and Therese burning on an alter trying to transform Therese into a God!....They succeeded! Now Than must get ripped to pieces every year and on top of that the other Gods are extremely angry with them. One God in particular will do anything in his power to make sure Therese does not stay a God.
This final installment of the Trilogy is by far the most gripping and suspenseful. Therese gets entangled with Artemis, Hera, and Aphrodite, has to go on another impossible quest, and decide what her purpose is so that she can stay a God. We get a better look at the Gods personas and how petty and deceitful they are to each other. They only care about their positions in the heavens and what they can get out of deals with each other. We get to see Thereses’ strength and willfulness come out in this final installment, which is long awaited! It was nice seeing her stand up for herself and to the Gods no less!
I really can not tell you too much more because it all comes to a head in this book! Throughout your entire time reading the Trilogy you are asking yourself “will there be a happy ending?”, “Will Therese and Than live forever together?”. All those questions are answered and the journeys and adventures are a thrilling ride! The love story is a sweet one too.
The Gatekeeper's Daughter by Eva Pohler is the 3rd story and final story in The Gatekeeper's Saga. This book continues right where book 2 ended, Therese is now a goddess and Than is an oath breaker who will be punished for making her a goddess. Therese must figure out what she will be the goddess of or else she will become mortal again. And Therese and Than are at the middle of alot of tension between the gods because of Ares. This book continued with the wonderful character development of the others and now showed us how Than and Therese grow, both as individuals and as a couple. Therese especially gains a lot of confidence and her inner strength. I know that this is the last book in the trilogy but it left me wanting for more. I sincerely hope that Ms. Pohler will continue the story somehow - maybe through spin-offs about Hip and Jenn or Than and Therese's future children.
I have not read Gatekeeper's Sons but I have read Gatekeeper's Challenge and my review is HERE. It was a 5 star review. In Gatekeeper's daughter Therese and Thanatos have succeeded in turning Therese into a god. But Therese then finds out she cannot remain a god unless she finds her "purpose". But in the process they are punished for their actions - Thanatos has to serve his punishment dictated by Zeus and Therese has to perform his duties while he is away. Therese now has to guide the souls of dead people with only two days of training from Thanatos. What a monumental task. There are many twists and turns along the way. You have to read the book to see what purpose Therese has and how she uses it. But the story is another 5 star book by Eva Pohler. Excellent, extremely interesting story (series).
~Author provided e-book~ I was excited to be given the opportunity to read this book, and of course I had to go buy 1 and 2. I am unable to read out of order! I'm so glad I did as the final book would have been confusing had I not read the first two. I really enjoyed the blending of the old 'gods' with present day and it made for interesting reading. It was a fast paced book with quite a few characters, but I never felt lost. My only criticism would be that either it should have been a longer book, or possibly a fourth one. There was so much action, I felt like I forgot to breath sometimes! I also want a bit more closure with my new friends :) Hopefully there will be one more...please? Maybe Hip's story. All in all a fun read. p.s. I posted this review on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
This book was also amazing along side it's counter parts. This book also leaves off where that last one did: Therese becoming a god.
This book is amazing in showing Therese's and Than's love for each other. It is just amazing and I immediately fell in love with this book. Both of the lovers took pain and suffering to be with each other and It just wooed me.
I also love how we got to see even more Greek mythology and legends. I am just so in love with all the lessons this book manages to teach me while I read in pleasure.
This book definitely deserves five stars and I'm sad to say good bye to Therese and Than. This whole series gave me happiness and it feels as if I have lost a new friend.
This book had me from the start! I couldn't put it down, the only reason I did is because well, a woman's gotta sleep! Finally you think it's happened and it's all going to be peaches and cream! Ummm Nooo! These Gods are some of the most selfish people ever! But they are keeping my interest! Of course who his involved again but Ares! If I was Theresa I think I'd go mad! Between trying to be with Than, finding a purpose, and everything that's going on at home! Boy o boy! She does seem to come into herself more in this book! And I think romance is on the horizon! (I hope) if you have read it you know who I'm talking about! Lol! I'm off to read the next one!! I can't wait!! Thank u for writing this series Eva!! <3
In all their millennia, the Gods still haven't learned to relinquish their selfish ways. Requiring Therese and Than to abide by their rules and never ending quests in order to be together. The third installment draws out the never ending frustration of their callous ways but makes you wonder, is it really the deities who are being selfish, or the two Gods who are putting their happiness before the possible repercussions that may carry out for all of eternity? Continue with Than and Therese while they battle for love, truth and justice. Experience Therese's growth as a new God and witness her forcing revelations to the old ones.
Eva Pohler doesn't disappoint and will leave you scrambling to read the next.
I was given this book to read and review for my honest opinion. I am a huge mythology fan and love these modern day stories about the Gods. I have to say that this series has been one of the best ones that I have read so far. Than and Therese go through so much to be together and the ups and downs that you go through with them makes you feel like you are in the story. I really enjoyed the way this book ended because it brought all three books together and I was not disappointed. Great story telling and I would recommend this book to everyone. I highly recommend the whole series because you can't start and not finish. :) Thank yo so very much for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This novel moves at such a fast pace, I seriously could not put it down! Stayed up many late nights enthralled in the story of Than and Therese, and their quest for Therese to remain a goddess. Once again, the author does not disappoint on the Greek Mythology. In this 3rd book of the Saga, we get to know the gods of Olympus more than they probably want us to! Pohler presents the mythology in such an entertaining way, that I found myself wanting to study the subject. Not only that, but Pohler has left me wanting more of Than and Therese! Seriously, this story cannot end with such a cliffhanger!
