Book 5 in a series that i haven't read. Clearly missed a lot.

Needs some editing: several run-on sentences and fragments, missing words, and verb tense changes. So many characters and POV switches. Swinging wildly between totally different places and relationship situations showed the scope of the overarching plot and the diversity of the characters involved! Nevertheless, it was hard to feel invested in these things because they were such SHORT scenes that lacked... physicality? Weight?

Most of the description centered on emotions and relationship analysis. There wasn't much action, so the story kind of jumps between people's heads. Overall, it feels internal yet impersonal because there's so little movement or sensation. Like, would i recognize any of these characters if i saw them from outside their heads? They just lack dimensionality.

On the other hand, I love the mixes of fantasy, magic, mythology, and culture. I also ADORE the many black and brown people who are main characters with various roles, personalities, and sometimes happy ever afters!

Cold Sun

Talia has previous lives, with one constant. Bryon. Or so she thinks.. There is more to her past lives and this story deals with that so that she can enjoy and live life, with the Love of her mate. This also keeps the plot going from the previous books, I believe that all the characters are connected and we will eventually see how they all fit together around this sum it that is due to be held. It can jump around a bit, between different characters pov's, but I think that is building is up to the final book. Also this book was better edited, than previous ones, still a few typos, but not so many and not distracting from the story.

I hope it's not the end of the series.
I have read all the books in this series, and I could not stop until I finished.
All of the characters included a bit of a back story, just enough for you to understand them a bit. Each book came with its fair share of secrets and all of them had you wondering. Selah was irritating me a bit by running from her love, I understood it could be deadly, but she didn't have to be so mean. Now some of the characters who were connected, I did not see those secrets coming.
The love scenes were enjoyable, and the secrets kept me waiting. I hope this is not the end, because we still have to deal with the Summit. Read this series for a journey.

Cold Sun : Obsession ( Secrets, Lies, and Betrayal Book 5 )

No Spoiler Alerts . I love the way Ms Durant writes her series, it's so refreshing, they don't have cliffhangers to keep you guessing, what's going to happen, until the next book is out. And each book works in one or two people, while still continuing the series of what is going on with "The Council" and bringing in the characters form the previous books, with what continues to go on with them. I love it!!!

Once you start to read her book you cannot put it down, I finished it within 1 day, i would definitely recommend her series.... let's see what happens next ...looking forward to the next book .. 😊

I love this series. It's fast paced, lots of different characters who interact with each one episodically, meaning you can nver get bored and there's always something new. This one is excellent, everyone starts interacting more and you can really see how all of the characters fit in, without being able to see what's coming. This one is just as well written as the others in the series.. If you like paranormal stories, this one is excellent. Be warned I read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.

This is book 5 in this wonderful series and this time the book concentrates on Talia and Bryon. This paranormal romance is so different from the ones that I have read before. Even though the characters are not human they are still very down to earth which makes them very easy to like and root for. There is a continuing plot that runs through all the books and then each book also concentrates on particular characters. I really love how the author has done this and it makes these books really wonderful to read.

This is the story of Talia and Bryon. He has been chasing his love through a few reincarnations but this time she changed the scenario. Will this break the endless cycle they’ve been on so they can finally be together? I enjoyed the unexpected twists in this thrilling story.
