Fairly good overall view of childhood & adolescence, but I have a few gripes: too much boy vs girl stuff. I know, I know, it’s how we see kids as they grow up— the author does have a grasp on LGBT issues and mentions it in sidebars, but these need to be expanded to include non-binary trans people and trans kids as they are growing up.
Another one: and this hurt me personally— she does not use evolved language regarding death by suicide.
