This book was a wonderful quick read about an incredible encounter with Christ! Got the pleasure of meeting the author at the Holy Spirit Newman Center!
This is a poignant story of a real encounter with life and death. If you are a Christian it will strengthen your faith in our Lord and Savior. If your a non- believer I challenge you to read with an open mind and allow your heart to be open to another reality- one which includes Almighty God.
An incredible story of a man's experience with death. I've read several different accounts of such experiences and I find Paul Zucarelli's account to be one of the most believable. He witnessed the Light with the warmth and love that has been so often reported to accompany it, and he has heard the heavenly voice assure him he was totally safe. He felt neither fear nor a desire to return to his body.
As with most folks who've "died and come back," his life was revolutionized by this event. He now lives each day in and for the love of God, hoping to win as many souls to Christ as he can before he is finally taken to Heaven once and for all.
I had a huge emotional block to reading this book.
It is a memoir of a man's faith tested when he had open heart surgery. He "died" several times and revived several times.
I think had his medical issue been anything BUT cardiac, I would have had an easier time reading it and admiring his faith. Instead, even 50 years after the fact, I resented that MY father had not lived through the aftermath of his open heart surgery.
I'm sure other readers would like it more and be inspired more than I was.
I appreciated the honesty and vulnerability shared through this story. I also enjoyed his quoting the scriptures throughout. My faith has been energized by this book. I am grateful he shared his experience as I feel very positive and uplifted.
I love his message of evangelization and God’s love. I guess I just wish those moments- when his soul left his body- were described better and in more detail. Maybe I just wish I could see that piece of heaven that Paul saw? How great it is to know that it is waiting, though!
Paul, thank you for writing this. Your story came to me in a time of need. I have been searching for something like this for over 20 years. Peace to you and Beth and your family!
A beautiful book that shares Paul Zucarellis life with God and how his eyes were opened to the true meaning of believeing in God and what he has promised us.
I loved reading this remarkable true story and will recommend this book to anyone. I received a signed copy from a dear friend and cannot thank him enough. Hit very close to home!
Interesting story of a man's spirituality and faith journey as he faces what may be the end of his life with new understandings as he has "a glimpse of heaven".
This was a short read that gave my faith a little shot in the arm that was needed! Took a break from my casual reading to exercise my mind and my faith. This was a personal story of how one man was saved, and the little "signs" or "God winks" or calls from the Holy Spirit along the way. The reassurance and hope of our life after death was a good message to hear!
