Are you listening?

Wow! This book is one that I think every Christian should read and keep in mind every day. I loved the action in it but mostly I loved the message. Lord, help me to not get so caught up in the chaos and craziness of life that I miss your still, small voice. My friends, God really is speaking to each one of us. Are you listening?

The Still Small Voice
By: Lorana Hoopes
Narrated by: Lorana Hoopes

I grabbed this book because I am a fan of Lorana Hoopes, and I was sure it was going to be a sweet romance. Not in her normal style I am used to, I started this story, and was captivated. The story is religious with a little romance and leave you thinking. Kat Johnson loses her best friend, and begins to have dreams where she is talking to her. When it's determined it's God's way of communicating, will Kat take the missions on and relay the messages? Jordan gives up her son and now has visions to pass on to others. If God was talking to you, would you take this on? This story of true faith and opening your heart to God is inspiring. It makes you stop to think of all the little inner voices we hear but ignore. Could there be a message we aren't paying attention to? Hoopes narrates the story and gives it all the heartache, hope and faith it deserves, and even leaves the story open for a sequel. I am hoping she continues this one!

This book is not one of those that will cross over into the secular market; it is intended for believers. That being said, it is a hugely important book, especially for those whom God is calling to draw nearer to Him and to listen – honestly, I think that’s everyone, but I know for a fact that it’s me. If it was difficult to sit down and write this one, know that it was worth it, because this book came to me at just the right time with just the right message. I would venture to guess that I’m not the only one. It’s hard to step out in faith and do the uncomfortable thing, but this books not only reminds us that obeying God is the only thing that really matters in this life, but also shows us how to do that, with characters who experience the same feelings we do. So thank you for writing it, Lorana Hoopes. If you are looking for a fluffy, feel-good book, look elsewhere, but if you think you might be ready (or should be ready) to be challenged to listen to that still, small voice, read this book now.

I enjoyed this book. It is very different than anything she has previously written. Although it pulls characters from a couple of her previous books. It is both a religious themed book and their is some romance to it; but mostly religious in nature. I don't think the book is for everyone.

When I wasn't reading the book I found myself thinking about the storyline and many of the things mentioned in it. It has an ending that I think is good; but at the same time it does have a cliff hanger. I suspect there will be some additional books to follow this one.

I look forward to the next installments in this series.

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect when I agreed to read and review this book. I've never read "speculative fiction" before. But I was pleasantly surprised. It is a story that will make you think, and perhaps question your heart. Does God speak to ordinary people in this day and age? Are we prepared to listen if He does? Are we prepared to answer His call? The characters in this story are each facing their own questions, some struggling to make sense of things. I enjoyed following their journeys (and I'm hoping we get to read more about them). I was provided with a copy of this book from the author. The review and opinions are mine alone.

The Still Small Voice by Lorana Hoopes

This book is profound. We as Christians have a tendency to ask God for a lot and we tend to do all of the talking. Then, when we are done with our prayer list, we get going on our day.

This book is written with the premise of actually listening to the still small voice of God. God can answer in many ways, and so many times we are not listening. What kind of impact would we have on those around us if we just listened to God and his leadings.

Jordan has learned the secret of listening to God and he has sent her to Kat. Please be aware that this story is continued in the next book and you will definitely want to have it handy!

This is not the usual story from Ms. Hoopes. It is definitely more religous based without much romance but it is a very interesting story. It deals with different characters and their beliefs and their relationships with God. It really makes you think about your own relationship with Him and whether you would have the courage to follow Him or not. I'm looking forward to reading more along these lines from Ms. Hoopes. Is she going to be the prompting that we need to hear the still small voice?
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Wow, what an awesome book. A lot happens in this story, but it all flows together and makes sense. Jordan as a new Christian learns to submit to God and be obedient to His promptings. I love seeing her responding to her calling so humbly and willingly; all to often people try to run from it. This story will make you think, and hopefully get you to listen for that still small voice. I will say it ended a little suddenly but the author states at the beginning that there will be more books in the series.

Also, Lorana does an outstanding job narrating her own works.

Amazing! God spoke to me in this

I am highly recommend this book. For both believers and non-believers. God spoke to me so much in this one I got chills up my spine. How often do we ignore that still small voice, get to busy to hear God and suppress our God given gifts. Far too often I have done this. Often out of fear. But I read this book and felt encouraged and inspired and emboldened. I can't wait to see what God says next. And to read more from this series. God bless the writer and readers. Until next time peace, Love and Blessings.

Cat is a control freak in her life. not that she lost faith in God, she just didnt make time for going to church, God, and prayer. When her best friend, Stella, died, She couldn't understand why God takes the good people. Lorana Hoopes writes about being quiet and listen to God's message ,being used for a purpose and direction in life, and not to ignore the Still Small Voice . Her narration is flawless giving each character their own voice and personality. I was gifted the audio book and offer my honest review.

The Still Small Voice was a good read by Lorana Hoopes. Jordan’s life was thrown upside down when she ended up pregnant in college. She gave her son up for adoption and sought to find a meaning for her life. She gave her life to God and started receiving visions and words to tell others. She must also help guide people to God. Kat is a Christian who has felt a pull away rom God for years. It was made worse when her best friend died and her life is thrown into turmoil. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more by Lorana Hoopes.

I was given an audible copy of this book. I enjoyed this audible presentation very much. The story, itself, is good & very different. I believe God uses His Word, the Bible, to speak to us & tell us what we should do. I don't agree that He sends a person to inform the 2nd person about what God wants them to do. Also this is a cliff-hanger book that ends abruptly. Wonder when the conclusion book will happen. This is my voluntary opinion.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my honest and voluntary opinion. Jordan Wright ended up pregnant in college and gave her son up for adoption, then turned to God and started having prophetic visions. Dr Kat Jamison had been a lukewarm Christian for years, but circumstances awake her faith and she starts seeing strange lights around people. This book really makes you think about end times and what we should be doing to bring others to salvation.

Lorana Hoopes threw me a curve ball with this book. I’m used to her first responders, billionaire, athlete Christian romances. This book makes you look introspectively at your Christian walk. I couldn’t put it down. It speaks to the current times and what is going on in the world. I’ll admit I would have responded more like Kit than Jordan. I loved this book and will move to the next one.

The Still Small Voice is a riveting, gripping, potentially life-changing work. The plot is tight, and the pacing is fast. There is a satisfying ending, but, oh, I'm hoping for this to be a series. I definitely plan to read more of Lorana Hoopes' stories. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review to tell you not to miss reading this book.

Awesome, Second-Sight Story
This is a strongly Christian story about the gift and responsibility of 'second sight'. What if you were given the gift? This is a wonderfully written book that is almost haunting. It is very engaging, I could not put it down. The story is not complete in this one book, but it is well worth the read. I received this book for free and this is my honest review.

Very intriguing story from Lorana Hoopes. This story is not Lorana Hoopes' usual story line. There is no more romance and much more religion. The characters are well drawn and believable. The plot centers around what can happen in our lives if we are truly still and listen for what God might ask of us. I eagerly await the sequel.

I was drawn to this book the moment I saw it.

After reading it, I know why...that still small voice called it my attention. It's labeled "speculative fiction", but it certainly isn't speculation in my opinion, as it speaks many compelling truths. I hope Lorana Hoopes writes more books along the same vein.

At the age of 2, Kat tells her mom she can see Jesus in her room. 30 years later she hardly prays anymore. Jordan can hear God and sees the faces of people she needs to help through God's vision. These 2 women have a connection and will soon be working together.

This book is based on true events and is VERY intriguing and inspiring.

I was given a copy of this audio book for an honest review. Wow! I absolutely LOVED this book. This is not your typical Lorana Hoopes christian romance story. It is very well written & completely mesmerizing. It makes you think about how you would respond to that “still small voice”. Would you listen or would you ignore it?

This was an interesting take on spiritual warfare. I don't think I agreed with some of it if compared to Scripture, but I read it as fiction and could overlook that. The story was good. the characters realistic. I was very glad I already owned the sequel, A Spark in Darkness, since it continues the story. These two books would be best read in order.

Another short, wonderful read from author Lorana Hoopes. I've read over 600 books so far this year and this book is among the very best of them. Think Touched Like an Angel does the Rapture. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018)

very interesting storyline, what would happen if we listen to God and do what he asks. A different type of story, one that is quite compelling. Really makes you think about things in a different way. I recommend this book, a really wonderful read

A great book by Lorana Hoopes! Not her usual Romance type book but very eye opening to the fact that yes we may pray from time to time and attend church in and off again, but never REALLY listen! A definite must add to your TBR list!

I was intrigued by the description of this book. It was thought provoking for for me of my spiritual life and growth. This is written in the style of Frank Peretti's books which I initially read them as a young then reread them again about 10 years ago. I would recommend The Still Small Voice

A wonderful Christian fiction about how God can use people to achieve His will if they just pause from life’s distractions to hear His small still voice and have the courage to follow that voice to change the lives of others. Great book!
