Silver Peaks is no place for a civilized shifter. One minute, city girl Eileen Pennyroyal is running in terror from a bear – so scared she even forgets that she can turn into a wolf. The next minute, she’s being rescued by the handsomest, rudest shifter she’s ever seen. Does Marcus even know how to speak, or does he just grunt when someone tries to make conversation? Eileen knows when she’s not wanted, and she thinks she’s never going to see him again – until the local Alpha tells her that Marcus needs a mate immediately. And it’s her. If she agrees, she’ll escape being forced into an arranged marriage with a hateful, abusive Alpha. But does marrying the hot-tempered, surly Marcus mean giving up on love forever? And can she show Marcus that he’s worth saving – before the dark forces that shaped him come back to claim him for good?
Georgette St. Clair writes hot, sexy romances starring Alpha heroes. The road to love may be rocky and fraught with peril (and humor and scorchtastic sex and healthy heapings of snark), but her shifters will stop at nothing to claim the women they love.
Georgette has worn many hats in life: newspaper reporter, EMT, internet marketer, cocktail waitress, temp, nurse’s aide (not in chronological order).
When she’s not rescuing fur-babies, she spends her days in a fantasy universe where she nudges her smart-mouthed, take-no-gruff heroines onto paths which will set them on a collision course with true love.
I wasn’t much of a fan of the first book in this series, but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
The pros: * For a shifter romance, it didn’t feel like a dozen others I've read * This was short, but I still felt the hero and heroine had quite a bit of depth to their characters * Offered as a kindleunlimited * I love a good read where opposites attract * Great humor
The cons: * I think the title sucks - "Mate for a Month" sounds pretty lame and didn’t give this book justice
I enjoyed this book a lot and will definitely check out other books in this series and by this writer.
I am so glad that Marcus got his story told. He is such a grumpy wolf, but sweet in the center. You just knew there had to be a reason for it. The author couldn’t have created a better mate for him. It might not have been their first choice, but it ended up being their best choice. I can’t wait to read the next book by the author.
Mate for A Month Shifters of Silver Peak By Georgette St Clair ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received this ARC to read and give my honest opinion in a review. I rated this book five stars but if it was possible I would rate it a trillion stars. That's just how much I enjoyed reading this book. I have always enjoyed reading Georgette St. Clair books, the flow is always good the pace is just right not too fast not too slow. Ms St. Clair is so creative and it shows in all of her books. They are captivating, suspenseful, and sizzling hot. I have fell in love with every series she has ever wrote. Her storylines are always full of awesome characters and scorching hot scenes, and as usual in her series are amazing, powerful, exhilarating and full of surprises.
This storyline is about Marcus a huge, buffed, drop your panties gorgeous, gentle but no one gives him credit, not even hisself wolf shifter and Eliene a curvaceous, sassy, unsure of herself, can't boil water beautiful wolf shifter.
The story is awesome, impressive and engaging. This is a spectacular storyline, the scenes are intense, vivid and fabulous. There is lots of humor, danger, pent-up rage, life threatening moments, suspense, lots of camaraderie and heart pounding romance. Poor Marcus just wants to be alone even though he thinks he is going Feral. Eileen just wants to be needed and cherish by someone. She would do any to close the deal, but as a world of secrets merge into nightmares and danger that threaten their lives and the pack.
I truly enjoyed reading this fast paced well written series and I'm excited about reading more by this truly gifted author. And If you are a shifter romance reader this is definitely a great choice for your TBR List. Just remember In the world of shifter romance the possibilities are endless but always fascinating.
Receiving this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Ok....honestly I enjoyed the book. Only thing was that there were times at the beginning and middle it moved a little too slow for me. Typically in her books its just full of stuff happening. This pace was a smidge slower.
I have to say I felt really bad for both characters. Sympathetic to what happened to Marcus previously and also Eileen because the way she was raised. She had EVERYTHING done for her. Never picked out her own clothes. She was definitely privileged and she yearned for more. I LOVED her little tantrums. Mostly it was her being upset at failing not really at anyone. I honestly ADORED the one she threw on purpose! HAHA. She had no self-esteem really. She in reality felt like a loser who couldn't do anything right or for herself. She felt worthless a lot of the time. Marcus wasn't exactly nice to her at first. Even if she was saving his furry butt! He pretty much ignored her presence. He was an ass. Although, he felt bad and hated when she got upset with him. Under all that he's a good guy just a little messed up. His attitude and the way he behaved...there was a reason for it. He was so afraid he'd hurt her. Thats what made him likable to me. He was sweet in his own way. OMG Chelsea! I laughed my butt off when she called Eileen and told her Verity was on her way up. Her and Marcus had sex thinking she was coming to check on them thinking their mating was fake. Well it actually was at first. Anyways, it was priceless when Eileen found out Chelsea lied about that! Made me giggle! Damian...didnt see that coming! Will Zeke be next in the series? Enjoyable read!
Great plot and characters, it was an emotional roller coaster ride
The hero and heroine were made for each other. She is a wolf shifter growing up rich and pampered. But her family does not value or love her. He was a tortured wolf shifter shutting down and on the verge of going feral. Neither think they are good enough, but they both need help desperately to get out of very tenuous situations. Being in the right place at the right time may save them. I loved these two characters. He is so alone even when surrounded by people. And so is she for different reasons. Then his past starts to haunt him again, putting those he cares for at risk. But danger comes from multiple sources when her past comes to get her as well. Oh I love these stories with multiple plots. Keeps me turning the page until I find out how it ends. I loved both characters and wanted them to feel love and feel worthy. This book was filled not only with danger, and strong emotions, but it had a light side with humerous moments as well. I enjoyed this book tremendously.
I loved the first book in the series, Mate Marked, which tells the story of an alpha and the newly appointed local sheriff falling in love. Marcus is shown in that story and you can see he is a wolf on edge, ready to crack. So in this story when Eileen stumbles into his life and onto their pack lands needing a favour, they ask for one as well. Pretend to be Marcus’ mate to appease the council and prove that he is not in danger of going feral. However their attraction to each other is far from fake and soon lines begin to blur.
I enjoyed this story. Eileen wasn’t exactly a heroine you wanted to cheer for when you realise just how sheltered her life has been. She doesn’t even choose what clothes she wears each day. But I loved watching her get some confidence and to stand up for herself. Marcus was incredibly tortured and his past was so heartbreaking. It was sweet seeing him begin to heal and fight turning feral.
This story was easy to read and a lot of fun. It was great entering this world again and I hope Georgette has more to come. A must read for fans of paranormal romance.
This is the story about Marcus, where we find out why he's such a loner and that his Alpha is fearful that Marcus may turn feral. And matters only get worse when the Council of Shifter Affairs show up wanting to evaluate him. Then there's the city slicker of a woman, Eileen, who comes trying to get them to let her father build a road only finding out why the Alpha doesn't want him to. But in reality she's there trying to escape her father somewhat, and wants to show her worth to him and in something. This is truly an awesome story of fate and right timing as well as the laws of attraction. Self-contained story and yet part of a series. Well written and very entertaining to read..
I really enjoyed this, it is very good. We got to know Marcus in the first book, which left me wondering about him. We got to know him really well in this book, and learned his backstory. I'm so happy! The heroine was great. I really liked her and loved how she grew in confidence and sort of grew up in this story. She is 22, but her rich family kept her wrapped in bubble wrap, but without the love. In this story, she is on her own, trying to impress her dad, but finds out she is a better person than she thought she was. It's a great story, it is sexy, there is action, and there is suspense. I strongly recommend.
I truly have to say that this has to be by far one of my favorites. Marcus the grumpy giant with a heart of gold Eileen prove her worth that she was more than just a pampered princess. The story had many twists and was filled with lots of suspense just when you thought you had it I'll figure out you were hit with a rude awakening. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Wow, I love this continuation of the Silver Creek Pack! Marcus is awesome and gets his HEA with a very cute spoiled little rich wolf. The story line was amazing and it answered so many questions I had from the first book. Hoping we find out about the cub in the next book!!
I haven't read the first book in the series, and I didn't think I would like this after the first 10 minutes of the audio as I found Eileen annoying but it was actually funny and enjoyable.
*Audio* so I originally found this author through Maxine Mitchell but I can tell you that Stella Bloom does an outstanding job of narrating and did this story Justice. this is a great short story it's perfect it did exactly what I needed it to do kind of cleanse my palate from what I was reading cuz I was kind of stuck or listening to I should say. it's a grumpy alpha-type mail and an absolute princess because she's not a princess in the sort that she's royalty she's a princess and the sort cuz that's how she's treated by her family kind of like she can't do anything or they didn't let her do anything which to her was insulting cuz she wanted to do all kinds of stuff so this story it's just great because she tries to sit out on her own to do a deal for her father who by the way is not a nice man. and all kinds of things happen and it is somewhat comically done on some of the things. which Stella Bloom has an excellent presentation when it comes to Comedy so it's perfect I recommend the story if you need a cleanser of sort. actually I just recommend the story it was a great story it was fun it was it was just perfect
I liked this book better than book 1. The female protagonist was a spoiled brat but at least she didn’t want to be that way her family & friends just wouldn’t let her learn and grow or basically do anything for herself including dress herself 🤦♀️
When she went to a small town with a new hotel famous for its healing hot springs, to make a deal with a wolf pack her father wanted to build a road on their land. They didn’t want the road but one of their pack members was at risk of going wild and having to be killed, so the alpha told her that if she fake mated with him for a month he would sign her paperwork.
Well like any pretend boyfriend/mate Series they fall in love. She tried to cook for him and burnt down his house 😆 but he was kind about it and finally felt safe enough to open up to her about the horrific things that happened in his past.
There was some drama as someone from his past came to kill him or at least ruin his life, but he was taken care of.

I was very intrigued by Marcus in the first book, because he kept himself apart from the rest of the pack and that gave him an air of mystery.
Now to get to know him more deeply and his past was more tragic than I expected. Getting his story is what made me rate this as high as I did, because although the rest was good it didn't hold a candle to the first book in my opinion.
That being said I appreciated the bit that took place for both of these characters. Eileen standing up for herself when it came to her father, because it seemed that he had a lot of control over her life before she made it to Silver Peak and Marcus opening up more to Eileen and then to his pack mates.
(I listened to the audiobook edition, but that wasn't available as a choice at the time of this review.)
Mate For A Month is heavier on the romance than the first book in the series but it still had the humor and a touch of mystery and action. It also had more explicit sex scenes, so I would be more selective as to who I recommended this book to.
Even though the audiobook was only 3.5 hrs long, it didn't feel rushed at all. A great diversion for an afternoon of doing chores. The narrator, Stella Bloom, did an excellent job portraying our heroine as a poor little rich girl as well as capturing the humor of the prose.
i really skimmed through this but i didn't find a lot of elements that enjoyable -- i think i just finished because it was so short and i knew i could power through. i know eileen is supposed to seem endearing but she just came off as spoiled and naive? i feel like maybe if the book were longer we would get more of eileen's struggle to emancipate herself from her family but bc it was so short it just happened in a jiffy and it was pretty unremarkable. marcus was okay but pretty forgettable too and the plot was very threadbare.

I forgot I read this book and read it again and it was fine. It was very formulaic and predictable but it was an enjoyable quick read that I would recommend if that is what you are looking for. I found the female lead really annoying in the first chapter but after that her character really does change. Give it a couple chapters before you judge it. I would have liked if the characters were more flushed out but it was still good.
If rich women work like this... I remembered a certain heiress of a hotel chain ;) But she also turned out to be nice in that light because she tried hard... And did the laundry and cooked dinner... I'm giggling... Marcus is a very damaged but very good man in deep, and they make a great couple together, like two slices of Emmentaler that you squeeze together so they don't have holes. And they squeezed together hm hm, and it came very easily to them! Short and sweet!
this was so cute and loved the narration. Stella bloom always makes a good story better. And this one was really good in a cute, light sort of way. This quite short shifter novella involves a transformed shifter from New York City, a kind of overprotected and not used to doing anything herself princess, and a very damaged, almost feral country werewolf. There is a ton of drama mainly from her family and his past. Also, a bit of spice too. With hea and amazing narration. Included on KU
I enjoyed listening to the first one a bit more but I still really love the characters this author has created. They all have very different personalities and stories, I’m just hooked.
I also like that some of the couples that were mentioned didn’t get a full story. Like we get to see what happened to the ones that were hinted at in book 1 rather than wait and it makes me kind of hooked on the pack town more.
Also, this one was funny too. I’m really digging this authors humor.
This is an quick read about a young woman who has never had to do anything for herself. She can't even pick out her own clothes without help. He has been used and abused until he broke free. He doesn't think he should be around anyone else because he may go feral. They might be good for each other if they can learn to trust themselves. Enjoy I did.
Was looking forward to reading about Marcus ..kinda got lost with story about his background but then it started to make sense after a few more pages of reading. The heroine was awesome ..and suited Marcus too a capital T ..and how she was written to mate with Marcus made it an excellent read
Another great short story. loved this one. He is a rugged outsider who has a dark past and stays to himself. She was raised as a rich princess and is off on her own to prove herself. They are polar opposites, but he needs to prove her isn't fare and she needs to get access to their land.... so they pretend too be mated.
but find out that they are actually mates.

One of the better stand alone shifter stories I've read. This is my first read from this author and I am looking forward to reading more of her stories. The writing is strong and there was a good range of emotions without too much angst. Made me laugh and cry. I listened to the audible version. The narrator was great. It was the first time I've heard Stella Bloom.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audio book of this title. (Audible Membership)
They were to fake a mating for a month, to fool the shifter council representatives, to give her the contract that she needed, and to fulfil the feeling the Alpha had that they were actually supposed to mate due to their innate attraction to each other.
Marcus survived a horrific captivity in a shifter fighting ring. After escaping, he fights to stay sane. Meeting Elaine has interesting results. This is somewhat suspended but laced with humor to take the edge off.
Who doesn't like the story of a princess with a silver spoon learning to do without? Add to that shifters and romance and you have the book in a simple line. The audiobook was fun to listen to, and the book was well written. Enjoyable novel!
