I went to that cabin with a very simple plan; drink until the whiskey ran out, then use my last bullet to set myself free. I'd been bitten so I knew exactly how much time I had left. I also knew what would happen when time ran out and there was no way I was going to let that happen. I wasn't upset about it; I was almost relieved. Hell, I was even looking forward to the freedom that death would bring. Then that damn kid had to ruin it all.
Yet another zombie book without a single distinguishing feature, which, considering the amount of walking dead selections out there, isn't really worth the almost one hour it took to read it. This novelette was a quest of a dying man (about to turn zombie) to save a young boy he finds, hence the tight timetable, cover and title. Not terrible in itself, just never above average at best, utterly unoriginal. If you like your zombie stories light on plot and heavy on action, this would work. If, like a zombie, you enjoy brains, then you might want to find something more nourishing in that department. Caveat emptor.
