I received this story as an ARC. Welcome to the Firefly Inn, Boulder Point, Maine. The quaint little place that has just a touch of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir in it. Ran by Ginny Flynn, who has Caterer Stacey Brighton, and Emery Santos working for her. Emory has a master’s degree in horticulture, and also seems to be hiding out from her past.
In what is the first really big contract for the inn, a week long wedding party, with the wedding being held on the grounds. Trouble is afoot almost from the moment the wedding party shows up. Anywhere from minor things disappearing to outright sabotage of the wedding's decorations. Is someone targeting Kendra and Jared's wedding, or is someone trying to harm the little inn's reputation before it can even get off the ground?
With the Maid of Honor, Haley, suspecting Mike, the grooms Best Man of the sabotage, and vice versa. Will one of them be proven correct, or can they come to work together and find the person responsible. Or will someone in or near the premises be successful in shutting down not only the wedding, but the inn as well.
Annie Dobbs, a pseudonym for Leighann Dobbins, wrote a story with well defined characters, a solid plot line, an a good mystery woven into a sweet romance on top of it.
I received this book as an Arc for a fair and honest review.
This book brings us back to the Firefly Inn, owned by Gunny and her ghost, Dooley. The story is about Haley who has been caring for her sister since their parents death years ago. She is trying to make sure her sister's wedding goes off without a hitch, but something or someone is sabotaging everything and she begins to think it's Mike, the best man!!
Filled with a bit of romance, a bit of mystery, and a bit of ghostly intervention all combine to make a fun and enjoyable book you just can't put down. There are new characters to meet and old character to revisit. Come to the Firefly In and join in the fun!
This story is about two sisters and the wedding of the younger one. Haley has been the responsible one ever since their parents died. Kendra is the younger one and marrying a doctor. From the beginning of the trip to the Inn where they are to be married there have been things going wrong; the suitcase coming open and all of Kendra’s cloths spilling out, and various things getting lost, sunglasses and personal items of everyone. Then the lights Haley put up on the patio at the Inn to decorate for the festiveness that will take place there during the week. Haley is sure someone is sabotaging the wedding. She is on the lookout for the person. Since she is the maid of honor she must spend time with the best man. Mike is one of her suspects. The list grows and includes guest, friends and staff. Finally Mike is cleared and helps Haley with the investigation of the wrong doings. There are many more things that go wrong (?) with the wedding. Haley is panicked and frightened when Jared is drugged and Kendra taken just before the wedding is to begin. This was a very good read and I had a hard time putting it down. You must read it to find out if the wedding happened and if they caught the person responsible.
This was received as an ARC for a fair and honest review.
We are back at the Firefly Inn on the coast of Maine for the wedding of Kendra and Jared. The week long wedding celebration is the first event that Ginny, owner of the Firefly Inn, and Stacy, the event planner, are hosting. Lots of little mishaps start happening as soon as the guests arrive. Is someone trying to sabotage the wedding or ruin the reputation of the Inn? Love blooms for Haley, Kendra’s sister, and Mike, Jared’s best friend, as they work together to figure out what is going on. There is a new member of the staff at the Firefly Inn. Emery Santos has been hired to be the gardener but she seems to have some secrets. Dooley, the ghost, makes a few brief appearances and the cat gets a name, Angus. Another Wish is a wonderful romance with a little bit of mystery thrown in. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. I can not wait for the next book in the Firefly Inn A Sweet Romance series.
I received this book for free as as ARC for an honest review. Set in Boulder Point, Maine at the Firefly Inn owned and operated by Ginny Flynn this is the second book in the series. The inn has received a wedding contract involving a long weekend for the wedding party. The wedding is for Jared and Kendra and right from the beginning there is trouble brewing. Many small incidents such as misplaced luggage, disarrayed decorations and threats to the bride herself. Maid of honor, Haley is the bride's sister and at first she suspects, Mike the best man of the sabotage. In a twist of events Mike suspects Haley of the bridal antics. As things continue to happen Mike and Haley form an alliance to try to catch the culprit who is either trying to ruin the wedding or trying to ruin the inn. Filled with interesting characters, a beautiful setting and some mystery with a little romance mixed in, this is a wonderful story for readers of many genres. I highly recommend this book to those who want to have their attention grabbed from page one all the way to the awesome conclusion.
I received this book as an ARC and really enjoyed the book. Although my initial guess was right about the "villian", there were several things thrown in to make me think I was wrong & it was someone else. I liked that. This series focuses on different people each time, and I can see the next book focusing on Emery. I also like that Ginny isn't the "detective" in the series. Sometimes the same person being the detective becomes a little silly - hard to believe that one person comes across all the dead bodies and that the police actually welcome her help.
I enjoyed reading this new series and enjoyed seeing how Haley and Mike were first kinda working against each other as they were not sure who exactly was causing what and then realized that they needed to work together to make things smooth for the wedding that they are a part of. I liked Firefly Inn, its location and of course the cat (love books with cats in therm). Looking forward to more in this series and to see what happens at the Inn next. I received a copy of the book from the author, the review is my own.
This book was recieved as an ARC, for a fair and honest review... Almost impossible to put down! Romance plus mystery with shades of the Ghost and Mrs Muir. Annie Dobbs his it out of the park with a book with a good pace and lots of twists and turns, plus a highly believable love story. Sweet but not sugary sweet. Very highly recommend!
I received an ARC of this book and I'm voluntarily reviewing it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a romance, but not sugary sweet, it has mystery as well. Think The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Annie Dobbs weaves a tale worth reading. Her storyline and her characters are well developed and likeable. I'm certainly looking forward to reading more in this charming series!
This story was for me a mistress and a very romantic all in in one. Story line easy to follow and keep my wondering who was doing all of the stuff to stop the wedding. Meredith Summermis a great writer and of all the books I've read of her has never let me down I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and other writen by this author.
Well now that was a wedding no one will forget anytime soon and even though I picked the psycho very early on it was still fun reading how it all played out and seriously Haley and Mike are truly perfect for each other as are Jared and Kendra.
Another good book...I would think I had it figured out who was behind all the goings on but then I'd doubt it when something else happened but in the end I was right!!! 🙌
Glad the ghost was in this one a little more than the 1st Book!!! 👏
A wonderful read, I enjoyed this mystery/wedding. I'm usually good at figuring out who done it but this one had me looking in at the wrong person and surprised, that's A good thing. The characters are friendly, loyal and a bit mysterious. Enjoy.
I received this book as an ARC. In this second installment of the Firefly Inn Sweet Romance Series, a wedding has been booked by the new event coordinator. A series of strange occurrences are causing concern for members of the wedding party, is someone trying to sabotage the wedding, or is it just bad luck? Determined that her sisters wedding will go off with out a hitch, Haley joins forces with the best man Mike, to get to the bottom of the problems. This engaging story is a sweet romance with a little mystery and enough surprises to make this book a throughly enjoyable read.
This is the second book in an excellent series, Firefly Inn. Strange things keep happening at the Inn where a wedding is set to take place in a matter of a few days. Could someone be trying to sabotage the wedding? Or could it be Dooley, the resident ghost? This book is by one of my favorite authors. She knows how to grab and keep a reader's attention!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book this book.
