Hell hath no fury like a shifter scorned. Savannah has just been invaded by a pack of dangerous bikers—killer cats with greed and vengeance on their minds.
Jackson Hunter’s past has finally caught up to him. So has the woman who refuses to let him go—a cat with some sharp claws.
Katie Bishop is starting to wonder if she knows her boyfriend at all. He’s just given her two million reasons in cash to doubt that, and the shifters he used to ride with back in Atlanta want to get their hands on it. But they want more than just the money. They want Jackson, and they’re willing to dine on a few tourists and take hostages to get it all.
But Katie has more to deal with than just losing Jackson. One of her employees has gone missing, and old ghosts have come back to haunt her—in the form of a possible life sentence in the penitentiary.
Shifter’s Moon is the third book in the contemporary fantasy Katie Bishop series.
Luanne Bennett is an author of fantasy and the supernatural. Born in Chicago, she lives in Georgia these days where she writes full time and doesn’t miss a thing about the cubicles and conference rooms of her old life. When she isn’t writing or dreaming up new stories, she’s usually cooking or tending a herd of felines and basset hounds. Look for book three of the Katie Bishop series coming this spring!
I can't even believe I'm saying this, but it got even worse.
Or rather, Katie got worse. She kept all the asinine problems from book 2, but also suddenly became a liar - constantly lying to Jackson. It was too much, because she has overreacted in full batshit asshole mode multiple times in this series at even a hint that someone may have been less than truthful with her. She screeches at them that it counts even if it was a lie by omission, or in the case of her aunt, just straight up not realizing that Katie didn't know a thing ... Katie is all NEVER DO IT AGAIN.
And now she's a lying asshole. And still really dumb. So she's lying about really dumb stuff, stuff that will obviously come out. And oh, also shrieking at people for not wanting to just immediately tell her all the things.
Oh, and ... as an extra shit-cherry on top of this shit sundae, she keeps injuring Sugar. Seriously injuring her twice so far in this book. Sugar needs an award for not running this bitch over with her Eldorado.
I can't even anymore. Katie is a weak, whiny, hypocritical, spectacularly stupid asshole and a terrible friend. There is literally nothing redeeming about her.
I had high hopes when I read the first book in this series. The first book garnered a solid 5-star rating from me. The second book was pretty good too. And the fact that the series was a Kindle Unlimited offering was a good selling point for me. I'm willing to overlook quite a few things for some of the KU authors.
However, once I got into this book, the third in the series, I knew that I wasn't going to be happy with the rest of the books. In this book, I found little character growth, a ton of things happening that didn't make any sense, a best friend that has no idea of the word discretion (which was cute in the first two books but very annoying in this one), too much going on that would have made better books or novellas (Sea Bass for one, Emmaline for two).
I don't know-maybe someday I'll come back to this series to see if the author has matured with the later books.
I thought this book was a bit hard to get into. You definitely need to read the prior books in the series to make sense of it. Overall I enjoyed it. Getting to know more about Jackson, Seabass and everyone else is fun and watching Katie get her dragon back was awesome. Can't wait to read the next one.
“Shifter’s Moon is one of the most emotionally charged reads in the Katie Bishop series. This time Jackson’s past comes back to haunt him in a big way. His former clan from Atlanta knows where he is and is coming to Savannah, all of them.
It that is not enough, Sea Bass is acting strangely and goes missing much to everyone’s concern. When he is found he is in bad shape and only his grandmother can help him on his road to recovery. Of course with her position with the Society it doesn’t mean she will be that forthcoming with what is really going on with him.
When the clan comes to town all hell breaks loose. We get to see what a group of downright inbreeding scum they truly are. Their leader, Kaleb has no moral compass to guide him and he not only wants Jackson, his money and a arranged marriage between Jackson and his daughter, he now wants Katie.
The police also have located the body of Katie’s former friends with benefits, Christopher. Now Detective Ryan has her in his sights and he is hoping dna evidence will seal the deal.
Normally that wouldn’t be a problem because Katie’s dragon would let him know that she is more than he could handle but her dragon is sick and struggling. Until Katie and her dragon can find a cohesive way to cohabitate, the ball is in Kaleb’s court. Unfortunately, he may take out someone close to Katie’s group before it is over.
This book has everything: angst, inner turmoil, tragedy, kick butt action and revenge. I just wish it had more romantic moments between our two main characters. What’s up with that Ms. Bennett? Oh well, I guess you can’t have everything.
Absolutely love this book! It's the third book featuring Katie Bishop whom I first met when she was introduced in The Fitheath Trilogy. In this edition we get to know the main characters in more depth, such as Seabass' secret and Emmeline's Vampire blood! with new characters are also brought in. It was so good to get the background story of Jackson (Katie's other half) and to have it come to such a satisfactory conclusion, with many twists and turns. Leanne Bennett's books come alive with so much attention to detail that you can picture scenes exactly. I find myself jogging along in Sugar's Eldorado or riding on the back of Jackson's motorbike! Please keep Katie Bishop alive Leanne - I can't wait for book 4! I am a member of Leanne Bennett's ARC team and was asked to leave an honest review.
Katie Bishop is special. She’s a shifter but not just any shifter she is a dragon. Dragon shifters are rare.
We rejoin Katie’s story after she has made the most important decision of her life. Her boyfriend Jackson and best friends Sugar and Sea Bass are right by her side.
Once again in the quite little town of Savannah was about to have trouble visit in the form of Jackson’s previous biker gang. Not an ordinary biker gang, a shifter bike gang with his former girlfriend along for the ride! She wants her man back.
This gang is trouble and will stop at nothing to get back what is theirs!
This book is good read and I enjoyed it. Shifter’s Moon has plenty of action and great characters. Katie faces problems with her dragon and Sea Bass has a secret that he didn’t know about, that keeps you guessing until the end.
In this book Katie Bishop and her biker boyfriend Jackson come up against his old gang members who are a bunch of shifters who are killers and baddies who cause mayhem in Savanna. Fin and the Coven are not happy about this and give Jackson a time limit to get rid of them before the coven gets involved and deals with the gang themselves.
That’s where this story goes crazy. The madness begins and the destruction of Savanna is a real threat.
It’s a must read if you want to know what happens when the xxx hits the fan and Katie’s dragon decides to take a nap during the time she needs it most and Jackson’s old gang members have their own plans for Jackson and Katie but not the way you would expect.
Ok so things got intense. And I forgot how much of a headache the tension can give me. It gets REALLY dark out of nowhere sometimes, it feels like, and I’m just left feeling so hollowed out and I don’t know what to do. I think that’s why I stick around. And I had time to give myself a break and take Bishop in doses. Get used to her.
This book was pretty dramatic and it had a lot of gasping moments. Sugar’s really aggressive but I like her. Katie is just trying to have a life lol
This one felt like every teen girl’s fantasy of running with a bad biker - to the point of being cliche. This time around, it’s not the Grove, but Katie’s boyfriend Jackson who needs help. We also get to know Jackson’s old biker buddy Cairo a little in this book.
Jackson’s old biker gang is in town and they want Jackson (and Cairo’s) money. Katie and friends must race against the clock to pay the ransom for Cairo’s wife. The action made the series appealing but the character development needed a little more. Hoping to see more maturity from Katie in the next book.
I loved the other two books but this one bombed. It had massive plot holes and WTF moments. Katie was behind the game the whole time and her BF was useless and gutless and didn’t trust her to back him up. Also it was a very short book read in under 4 hours also disappointing.
I love the series, but I am tired of the main characters lack of growth. She hates secrets and lies but keeps things from Jackson without a second thought. She is supposed to be powerful but keeps getting jumped and barely scrapes by. I will try the next book, but if she does not grow.....
A fun ride and even better then the last. Twists and turns to say the least. I don’t normally get emotional when I read books, but this one got me right in my feelings. This is a great series, that is building on each book, to keep you hooked.
This book was definitely darker than the first 2. I wasn't really expecting some of the themes. Story was decent but be warned, if you have triggers then I'd be careful. I did not see any warning in the book. There seems to be too many small side stories that I do hope get settled in future books.
Another piece of the puzzle. Loved and enjoyed. Cried and was thankful. Oh boy The parent next. Katie is find out bit by bit her powers but she doesn’t always take or ask for help. Thank goodness for her amazing friends who have helped her. Now enter Adric and his clan. The vampires!
Shifter's Moon, book three of the Katie Bishop series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Well, I sure didn't see much of this plot coming. Once again, Katie is entangled in Crossroads business and drags Sugar, Jackson, and the MagicInk crew into the chaos. Another great book in this series.
The third book in this series was a fun, quick read. Loving the older women in this book who are strong and confident. I would love a little more history or background on many of the characters but am growing fond of them despite that. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I like the cast of characters our heroine is surrounded by. They are sharply drawn and interesting and witty and have really good powers 😄 It's Katie ,,,2 pages into book 3 and I just couldn't get thru another story about Katie,, arrogant, narcissistic, know it all about everything and just turned 25 , judgemental and petty,, I refuse.
While, sometimes a little corny, these books just get better and better. This book series offers a refreshing twist on urban fantasies. I love the southern setting and the magic which comes with this part of the country. Highly recommend and can't wait to start the next book!
Thoroughly enjoyed this third episode of Katie Bishop and her cohorts. A quick, entertaining read that had a couple of twists that kept things very interesting. Will definitely be completing the series!
Loved the ending as I wanted that pack to get all they had coming to them and then some! Great read can't wait to see what else Katie and Jackson get into. I am Sugar will be in for the drama.
I only gave this book 4, there wasn't much mystery to this one. Probably should've given it only 3 since Katie was completely stupid in this whole book. I actually had to quit reading it for a day she did such stupid stuff!
The shifters are here to try to get Jackson and take his money. Kaleb tries to rape Katie and Kara frames her for Christopher's murder. They real havoc throughout the town killing and eating people. Then they kidnap Cairo's wife .
I was expecting more of a fluffy, find yourself pnr. The heroine is kickass (but growing into her boots) the bestie sidekick is badass. The plot rolls with lots of adventure and a great arc. I'm off to read book 4.
Book 3 has everyone on the lookout for the worst shifter biker gang in history on its way to Savannah. There are multiple murders, loads of danger, all kinds of paranormals, and magic galore. Highly entertaining.
This book had me entranced from beginning to end. All though a little rocky in the beginning I couldn't put it down. Finished it in one sitting, great job luanne.
