This is a good for beginners on the whole range of home repair. Not gonna lie, most of this stuff can be found online & would be known to anyone with a home repair tech type background. Or if you didn't know some of it, you'd know where to find it. Still, you gotta start somewhere & if your just getting started on learning home repair, this is a pretty good book to have.
So your rating might be higher or lower, depending on whether you know a lot or jack about home repairs already. For me, it gets a pretty good rating because it's good for Beginner's, like it says on the cover.
This book had helpful tips and tricks but it alternated between being too simple (putting together boxed furniture doesn't need a chapter) and too complicated (sometimes I had no idea what the book was talking about). I also was perpetually annoyed by the fact that it included British terms for things in parenthesis. Why do that? Just print a different version of the book. However I do think it was a good into into the diy world and gave me a foundation to start on, so I'm glad I read it.
