Order of the Bear #3

The Advent of the Witch

Rate this book
Revenge is a dish best served any freaking temperature you can get it. You could say I’m bruised and battered, but hey, that’s just what happens when you get beaten to hell and back by a bunch of supernatural monsters. But I’m not dead yet, and while I’m still breathing I’ve got things to do and vampires to kill. First things first, I have to find Steel because I just know he’s alive out there somewhere. But before I can do that I’ll have to survive the night out in the open. Why oh why did I have to unleash the Vampiregeddon? I guess that if the pages all turn blank at the end it’s fair to say I didn’t make it. I really hope there’s more to my story though, because dying definitely wasn’t on my bucket list. I used to think I was just an ordinary human, but I know better now. I’m a witch with a shifter boyfriend. Could life get any weirder? Scroll up and get your copy today! This is book three, so if you haven’t already done so,please make sure to read books one and two first. The first book in the series is free, and you can download that ebook

Wow great continuation to the series. Things were definitely intense in this one. My heart was breaking for Crystal I can only imagine what it feel like to harbor so much guilt and then to be violated like she did. It was heartbreaking. Overall enjoyable and entertaining read with plenty of action, suspense, and of course steamy romance to have you hooked from beginning to end. I can't wait to see what going to happen next. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Book 3 in The Order of the Bear will definitely take you through an emotional tangle as the reader feels everything that Crystal Banks is going through. Her courage and strength are amazing, which will be seen in how she deals with some really bad stuff. I am grateful for the humor interspersed to keep the story moving along and distract us from the bad things left behind in the dust.

Trusting Lauren was a mistake. Crystal was taught just enough witch skills, shaky and inconsistent though they were, to release Lauren’s twin – and to bring on Vampiregeddon! Spilling her powerful blood had released all the vampires imprisoned for the past four centuries! In the chaos, she was separated from Steel, head of The Order of the Bear and the man she loved. She would find him, no matter that Bryan thought there was no way he could have survived. Emotionally, spiritually, and physically, Crystal was in agony from the vampire attack – but she hid it all so they wouldn’t stop her from searching for Steel. The thought of not finding Steel was a pain far worse than what she was suffering now.

As Mrs. Turner, Bryan, and Crystal drove toward Steel’s mansion while there was still daylight, they saw a large encampment of tents that the human military had put up. Someone had to warn them of the vampires, however, because they were not at all safe. Instead of believing them, they assumed they were part of a terrorist cell and they wasted hours with useless questions. When night fell, the camp was torn apart by bloodthirsty vampires. Mrs. Turner, Bryan, and Crystal, with four remaining soldiers following, tried to get to the mansion for safety. A huge bat flew at Crystal and, for once, her magic worked and the bat burst into flame. But the momentum carried the flaming bat toward her, until Bryan shifted into a lion and leaped into the air to rip it apart. But just as they moved again, the blonde vampire who killed the other soldiers in their tent, stood between them and the mansion. And this time, Crystal’s magic didn’t work. Just as all was lost, sweet ancient Mrs. Turner, Steel’s great-grandmother, started to change – into a gigantic fierce bear shifter! She knocked the vampire through a window, then she and Bryan moved toward the vamp as she climbed back out to fight them. Even their combined power, though, was probably not enough. Would they survive this battle? Would Crystal ever find Steel to tell him how much she loved him?

This book was amazing, incorporating paranormal creatures, excitement, suspense, romance, danger – just about everything – into one powerful reading experience! Crystal had already endured so much pain and guilt; and yet she kept fighting for everyone she loved and for the humans. This is a wonderful continuation of this series that you will not want to miss!

Crystal faces some of the worst devastation imaginable for any woman - worse even than the vamp apocalypse she was forced to aid in starting. Mostly worse than not being certain if her true love is dead. The aftereffects of her rape and torture at the hands of the dark vamp are really moving.

One of the biggest senses of justice emerging is that Crystal might have opportunities to find revenge against the one that hurt her - and in the process might be helping the war efforts.

As they begin to assemble fighters for battle, after surviving the first ranks who failed to accept the existence of something as foreign as a vampire threat, the lack of fear among the leaders, the lack of notice of devastation in the news - disturbingly echoing of real life genocides from the human past.

An amazing piece of work that brings an essentially funny, vulnerable and girlie girl together with her butt kicking powers and frustrations at accessing them.

At the heart of the battles are the hearts of these warriors, noble, funny, alpha annoying, and gone in blur to protect some of their mates.

Not just a funny steamy romp - but a moving saga with a lot of introspection - yet still humor.

Next please - looking forward to the kinda mixed up mega witch dealing with asking aid from her mother.
Talk about a nightmare for a woman of a certain age - and face it. Her mom is such a Witch! and a bitchy one too!

I received advance copy of this story. I also bought this and other books in the series from Kindle.

I expected another cute and funny witch cozy or shifter hump story.

That is not this series. There is funny. There is tragic. There is humorous. And there is OMG I know what she means - what a mother / guy / work scenario.

Awesome!

The Advent of the Witch by Josie Walker is the third book in this series. This book is a stand alone novel but takes place directly after the second book in the series left off. In this book Crystal must overcome the mistakes and effects of the past to help save the future. I couldn’t put this book down it had me so fixated on what would happen next. This book is full of the paranormal, suspense, adventure, and a romance that has to survive the problems this couple faces from both within themselves and the pressures of the world around them. This is a book that any reader of adventure will love as much as I did! The Advent of the Witch is so awesome and hot it’s on fire!

This is book 3 to The Order of the Bear and I absolutely loved it actually the whole series is amazing. Crystal was forced to start the vampire apocalypse she was beaten to an inch of her life and was raped by the vampire Blacwin for which she seeks revenge. But Crystal needs to overcome it all and gather the troops ready for the vampire war that is coming. My heart went out to Crystal to be put through so much and even though she was depressed for awhile she still fought through it all to become a stronger person. This is a fantastic continuation of this series and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This is a great series of stories that have little bit of everything from hot steamy love, to shifters of every kind to witches and vampires. I'm glad to see that Crystal is able to get some payback. I like the way the book ends and though you will need to read the 4th story it doesn't leave you hanging. I like the new people that's introduced in this story also. Well written all the way around and if you like fantasy you should enjoy this series. Can't wait for the next book.

This series just gets better. I really enjoyed the third instalment into this series. Fantastically engaging and different storyline which drew me in. The book was emotional at times as Crystal attempted to deal with the repercussions from the previous book, it also contained some suspense and action alongside some humour in the storytelling, all alongside shifters and vampires and a not so romantic love story.
I'm about to dive straight into the next book.
Just to be warned, you do need to have read the previous books in this series and this one also ends on a sort off cliff hanger.

The 3rd book in the series, this book is perhaps the best part in all the 3 books in this series.

This story is about what happens when someone decides enough is enough and refuses to take anymore crap from anyone. This is what happens when a woman stands up and says "I am enough".

A very interesting book.

This was a wonderful book. It was full of loss, devastation, heartbreak, and happiness. I was at times crying, screaming, and so happy for the characters. You will be rooting for them the whole way through when you see the devastation they face. It was an amazing book!!

A winner!

Not sure if this was the last book but I must say that while I hate reading books with cliffhangers, this book was definitely worth reading. Exciting series, sexy characters, and extreme situations.

The story continues from Book 2. There's more action and emotional turmoil here, and some potentially triggering content, so check out the trigger warnings before proceeding.
