One kill is all it takes for her to be mine. She's just a pawn in the Bratva's games. A virginal prize, exchanged from one boss to another. Her perfect curves and that sparkling smile, she'd be deadly if she hadn't been sheltered from her father's wicked world. Now she's being thrust into it. A marriage to a man I know has a terrible temper and a cruel sense of torture. She deserves better. Better than him. Better than me. But I never said I'd save her out of the goodness in my heart. I'll save her. I'll protect her. And I will claim her. Even if it means the wrath of every family in Brighton Beach descends upon me.

What another interesting story that Alexis Abbott has brought us once again. She never fails to bring us one amazing story after another.
I can not imagine what it was like for Anastasia to be living in this false reality. To think you had a father that loved you and wanted the best for you to find you were nothing more then property that he could sell. To find out your father was not the man you thought he was had to be crushing and the fear she must of felt to given to a man to marry that she looked to as a second father.
In this story Anastasia will have her eyes open in so many ways. It had to make her doubt herself when it come to knowing who to trust but I love how she did not let thats stop her in putting her trust in Nikolai.
Nikolai was this sexy hitman for the Bratva. I guess he had his revenge all planned out until he saw her. It was like Nikolai wasn’t even living before he met her now she will become his everything. Something for him to love and protect.
I love the chemistry between these two. Not only sexually and trust me there are plenty steamy parts in this story but they were connected on a deeper level. They worked well together and this will help them on more then one occasion.
This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

This is an excellent mafia romance book. Anastasia is the epitome of a sheltered Bratva Princess. Without her even realizing it her dad has been making sure to keep her isolated and totally dependent on him. After turning 18 and graduating finishing school her dad informs her that she is to be married in one week. The shocker is that he expects her to marry a man that is the same age as her father and she definitely doesn't love him or want to marry him at all. Ana is very unhappy about this and can't believe her father is insisting she do as she's told. Nikolai is a hit man and out for revenge against Ana's father and her fiancé. Find out what happens when Nikolai and Ana end up together. This is a great story, awesome characters and had me hanging on the edge of my seat to the very end. There are so many lies and all kinds of deceit that keeps you wondering what will happen next. An absolutely amazing book and definitely a must read for all mafia romance lovers out there.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

2 Stars Review by Sue Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog
Killing for Her by Alexis Abbot is a fast read about a mafia princess looking for independence from her controlling father and a mafia hitman looking for revenge.
Anastasia is a princess of the Bratva. She is looking to strike out on her own. After so many years of being spoiled by her father, she is ready to give back to the community.
Her father however, has other ideas. He has planned an arranged marriage for her to a man as old as he is! She of course does not want this but, she has no other choice.
Nikolai is an assassin for the mafia. He lives for nothing but revenge and has no allegiance to anyone.
Ana and Nikolai meet serendipitously. She is trying to escape her fate and he is ready to claim his revenge.
Will Nikolai aid in her escape and will she be willing to help in his plan for revenge?
I love the premise of this book and it caught may attention. The first third of the book had me intrigued and settling in to read an angsty mafia romance.
Unfortunately, it fell below my expectations. The characters themselves were underdeveloped. There is really no introspection or growth that occurs with either character and because of that they were cardboard cut-out. I felt as though what makes them unique as characters was glossed over.
There were secondary characters but they only had cameos to aid the plot.
The relationship between Ana and Nikolai was a case of insta-love and because of this their love felt forced and happened too quickly.
The writing itself was ok but some awkward wording such as: “I’m going to drain myself in you.”, “…my cock stiff as a pillar” and “..the sight of my spear..” lessened my enjoyment of the book.
Overall this was an ok read.
Recommended for those who enjoy a light, insta-love romance with a HEA.

I am just going to say that this author is the queen of mafia and if you have never read her work before you will want to jump in here. This story was the perfect balance of action, passion, details, and emotions. It is the story of Nikolai and Anastasia.
Nikolai is an assassin for the Russian Mafia (the Bratva) and his is exceptional at his job. When no one else can get the job done or it is too important he is called in. What the Bratva don’t know is that he is also on the path of revenge and just buying his time to strike.
Anastasia is the typical “spoiled, little rich kid,” who is home after being away. She is from a high profile family, one in which her father dictates her life. Upon arriving home she discovers that her father wants her to marry a man of his choosing. Things happen and fate intervenes, and Anastasia and Nikolai soon find themselves one a new and passionate path.
As with this entire authors works, her men are alpha and possessive of their women. Nikolai is determined not to let Anastasia go and the obstacles they face and overcome make this story an adventure worth reading. I loved every word of this story, every emotion I experienced and all of the action and adventure. I you have not read this author work before, I highly encourage you to try this book. If you are familiar with her works, but this one, it is another amazing read. I am adding this one to my favorites file! I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.
Anastasia is a spoiled, pampered mafia princess, but there is more to Ana than anyone would expect. Nikolai is determined to destroy the men responsible for murdering his parents, and will have an unexpected partner. When Ana attempts to escape from the man her father ordered her to marry, she is rescued by Nikolai. Exciting, action packed, suspenseful mafia romance with unexpected twists, and happily ever after. Fascinating, sexy, and sizzling hot characters. Fantastic book, I loved it!

Alexis Abbott has given us another page turner. Once I started reading Nikolai and Ana’s story, I couldn’t stop. Nikolai is a hitman for both the Koraleva and Ovechkin families. When Ana and Nikolai first see each other, the chemistry is there. Then, Nikolai tells her some bad news about her dad. Of course she doesn’t believe him and she leaves. Is this the end or will they get their happily ever after? Grab your copy and get ready to get sucked into the Bratva.
A great mafia read from the very talented Alexis Abbott. Once you start this one, you won’t want to put it down until your finished. This book has great romance with lots of twists and turns throughout the story. You will be cheering the entire time for Nikolai, the Bratva assassin and Anastasia, the mafia princess. I received an arc for an honest review.
This is the story of Nikolai and Anastasia and the revenge they both seek from Ana's father who betrayed her in the worst way. It moves quite quickly with twists and turns, lots of intrigue, violence and everything you love about mafia stories.
This is a well-written, very intriguing story that inexplicably links Anastasia and Nikolai from the very first moment they gaze into each other’s eyes across a crowded airport. Anastasia is on her way to an arranged political marriage, while Nikolai has a long awaited mission to complete. Fate though has other plans and its intervention bring some quite surprising revelations for all. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Nikolai, as a contract killer, chose his path in life for a reason. Nestor Koroleva and Liev Ovechkin, rival Bratva families, believe Nikolai to be their secret weapon; little do they know he is playing both sides. Nikolai’s revenge is at hand and Brighton Beach will fall for what they have done to him. Nikolai knew Nestor was bringing his daughter into the country, but cannot believe she has had such an immediate effect on him. Anastasia Koroleva may be a spoiled brat and a Mafia Princess, but she is vulnerable and has not had a hand in a single one of the heinous crimes her father has committed. Nikolai’s plans have not changed, but Anastasia’s arrival is a new development; she is as much a victim in all this as everyone else. Nikolia didn’t plan on having to act so soon, but time is working against him now. Nikolai always picked his own contracts; the men whose lives he takes are the worst of the worst, but this one is personal for many reasons. But the moment Nikolia spots Anastasia, he can see the emotions running through her mind; fear, anxiety, desperation, determination. Abandoning his plan, abandoning his chance at revenge he has waited so long for, Nikolia saves Anastasia instead. Months of plotting and weeks of preparation are gone; Nikolia has never pulled out of a job like this before or done it so recklessly. It is certainly a setback. At 18-years old, Anastasia has spent her whole life in the role of a spoiled sheltered little rich girl, but she is also resourceful, smart and attentive; never imagining there would come a day when she might actually make use of the things she has picked up from her father. Nevertheless, nothing she has done or seen has come even close to preparing her for this moment right now. A week ago, Anastasia found out that her father, who has doted and cared for her, her entire life, has been plotting against her for years; grooming and preparing her for a fate she has no say in and for what; money and power. Now, as well as panic and pain, there is the sense of betrayal. Safe with Nikolia, Anastasia is looking for answers; they should be enemies, but Anastasia is young, frightened and desperate for attention and Nikolia promises to keep her safe and protected. As the two spend more time together and form an attachment, they reveal the lives they have led. Nikolia knows he has to tell Anastasia the truth about her father and what needs to happen, but Anastasia will not accept what Nikolia is suggesting; her only option is to confront her father, or get proof. Returning to her childhood home, Anastasia finally discovers not only the undeniable truth, but something much more sinister; now she has to play her father at his own game. But where will this lead her and what of Nikolia; will they ever have a life together? A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Alexis Abbott nails it again with this fantastic read Killing for Her, some have labelled it as as dark but no I don’t think so, more suspense than anything, yes there is violence but not that much and the subject matter is unsavoury but for me the story was about a young sheltered girl, having her rose colored glasses not just been taken of but been obliterated and discovering her life was not what she thought. There are elements to the book which have you gripping your seat but again not as much as I thought. No matter what I read from the fabulous Ms Abbott I am entertained and never disappointed. This tale is filled with having to grow up fast, drug trafficking, human trafficking, betrayal, revenge. Yes, I found it an intriguing read with lots of action. Hot and sexy when it needed to be. Nikolai is an assassin who works alone for the Koroleva and the Ovechkin Russian crime families. But he is there under false pretences! Revenge is a POWERFUL motive, but plans go wrong when by chance Anastasia and Nikolai meet at the Airport where their eyes meet and its love at first sight, Anastasia has flown to America as her Father has arranged a political marriage for her to one of his friends who is as old as her father, and very cruel. She is young and has lived in a gilded cage for all off her life, a lonely existence, the best of everything except the time of her father, whom she believes is a successful business man. Her father has kept her sheltered and away from everyone. Alexis has giving us a fabulously written book that flows well. So, she does what he asks and travels to America to meet the man he has chosen. Best laid plans and all that, tend to go wrong when she discovers some startling revelations about the man. Which results in a daring escape, which brings her back into contact with Nikolai. As Anastasia through him slowly discovers what an awful man her father really is, you wonder whether she has the back bone to take on such a powerful role, or will she wilt under pressure. Nikolai has his own agenda to complete. Do they make it, what are the revelations, this is a must read! The only complaint I have is I would have liked a bit more about Nikolai. Other than that, a fabulous 4 **** Read.Killing for Her
I liked where it was going but somethings just don’t add up. I guess if I can describe this book it would be that. The supporting details don’t lead to anything because it’s like they are a bunch of thoughts randomly added to make the story longer.
There was an instance of her knowing her father is a powerful business man... not that he’s in the mafia or anything. When she was at the Ovechkin study, she ruffles thru papers on his desk and realised what a “bad man” he is. She is always being described as rich, spoiled and pampered... every time! Which was why I don’t understand how she gave all those information to Nickolai as if she knew everything about the mafia.
“He’s a businessman. A really, really successful one. So he’s probably committed fraud or racketeering or some other bullshit white-collar crime, right? Who has he cheated out of their money?” SHE IS SO NAIVE.
It’s really funny how Anastasia never fails to pretty herself up. A life threatening situation and she still has time to look like a couple of thousand bucks. She’s so funny!! And I am being sarcastic. She thinks she’s stronger than her father, that she can intimidate him but she’s an idiot. She’s careless and doesn’t know anything to be honest. She’s as delusional as whatever praise this book has.
She and Nickolai planned a massacre, killing Liev and her father. Then turning and basically takin charge of the business along side Nickolai, thinking their unstoppable. I just had to laugh because she described her outfit better than the situation in the book!!!
I’m truly disappointed at this supposedly Mafia book. Like I said, the turn out of events just don’t hold support in details to solidify whatever the author what’s to get at. Anastasia to me, is weak and a fraud. And I only think this because of how things were written down. She doesn’t have what it takes to be a Bratva leader. With Nickolai’s help or not. It’s ridiculous to me. She knows nothing of the business and it’s stupid to even read this shit
This is one special story about the Russian Mafia, the Bratva. Nikolai is an assassin who is very good at his job for two different very powerful families. He was raised by them after a horrible past they both played a part in! Nikolai has set out to get his revenge and to end the men who are responsible for so much harm. Anastasia is the daughter of N Koroleva and since her mother died when she was younger her father sent her to many schools abroad. She became a spoiled rich kid with no one other than her father to rely on. Her father has been grooming her to follow whatever he says goes. When she graduates high school at 18 he tells her she will be marrying L Ovechkin her father’s friend and business partner who is his age! When Anastasia arrives back in the US she sees a man at the airport who she connects with but losses sight of him. Anastasia is not happy about this arranged marriage and while visiting her groom to be she finds evidence of the type man he is and decides to escape and she ends up being rescued by Nikolai! The heat and instant chemistry between these two is extremely exciting to see. With the help of Nikolai’s fellow comrades they hope to bring down both the Koroleva and Ovechkin families. Can Anastasia and Nikolai find a way to work together and trust each other to bring down the evilness that has been apart of their lives for so long? Nikolai is a man who becomes possessive of Anastasia and has made her “his” and will do anything needed to protect and care for her. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This superb dark Russian Bratva Read was amazing from the very first page it is a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The inimitable Alexis Abbott is one of the best, if not the best, in this genre and never disappoints her readers. This great storyline is filled with drug trafficking, human trafficking, betrayal, revenge, and dark romance! It is an intriguing read with lots of action. Nikolai is an assassin who works alone for the Koroleva and the Ovechkin Russian crime families. But all is not as it seems! Anastasia is the daughter of one of the crime families and is being forced to marry one of the leaders. Her father has kept her wings clipped with rules and luxury in a gilded cage from childhood. She now realises her easy childhood is over! Is she the spoilt princess or can she hold her own now that her perfect world has collapsed? At her first glance of Nikolai she pleads with her eyes for help! Can he save her? Will her dreams of being an international diplomat be realised, or is it an impossibility? Her fate has been sealed! Can she trust Nikolai? Who will Anastasia’s loyalty go to and can she face the truth? Will Nikolai’s need for Anastasia cost him his life and distract him from his ultimate revenge? Who is the devil in disguise? I hate giving spoilers so you will have to read this amazing book to find out! This is my voluntary and honest review for a copy of this book.
I can’t get enough of these stories by Alexis Abbott and this one is no exception. The story of Nikolai, a hitman for 2 very powerful Bratva mob leaders and Anastasia, the daughter of one of them. She is sold as a business proposal to a man who is her father’s age and a man she has known to call uncle. Anastasia has been spoiled, pampered, and never had anything to worry about, always under the thumb of her father until he gives her no choice but to marry his business partner. Anastasia is more than just her looks, she’s smart, savvy and has been paying attention to her father’s ways while growing up, and after Nikolai rescues her there is no going back but she has a hard time believing her dad is all the evil things Nikolai tells her...who will she believe ? A great amazing read with steamy melt the ice scenes, a hardened killer with a soft spot for Anastasia and a woman coming into her own, proving she is more than just beautiful woman but a woman with a brain and heart. I loved this read, it’s fast paced with action and a bit of suspense but what I love the most is the getting to the point w/o having to beat around the bush, w/o all the extra drama and fluff, which it doesn’t need....refreshing. A story that kept me turning the pages and wanting a Nikolai all to myself and the ending which couldn’t be more perfect for these two. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
I love, love, love Mafia stories and Alexis is one of the best in this genre. “Killing for Her” is superbly written with complex characters making this exciting story a pleasure to read. Nikolai is a hit man for the Koroleva family and the Ovechkin family. Nikolai is also on a quest for revenge against both families. Anastasia is the beautiful, spoiled daughter of Nestor Koroleva head of the powerful Koroleva family. Nestor is forcing Anastasia to marry his old friend who is head of the Ovechkin family. Needless to say, Anastasia is shocked and unwilling to enter into a loveless marriage to such a cruel powerful old man. Nikolai and Anastasia meet and the chemistry is intense. Will Nikolai step in and save Ana? “Killing for Her” is packed with intrigue, suspense, steamy sex, violence and finally love. If you're looking for a thrilling plot that will keep you at the edge of your seat, this book is for you. Don't miss out. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Ana learns of her father’s plan to marry her off to Liev Ovechkin, and sends her to the states, when she sees the chance she tries to get away and she falls straight into the arms of the man she saw at the airport, feeling he can keep her safe. Nikolai didn’t expect Ana, or how he felt about her, although he had to stop his plans to save her he never regrets it, feeling the pull between them, he knew she would be a distraction and after kissing her, he knows he’s not letting her go. There in caught in between a deal her father made with Liev, but their connection is instant, Ana means more to him than he thought, and he never expected to fall for his enemies, daughter, he lets her know where what’s going on, but will that push her away from him or have her help him and bring the families down.

This book has suspense, action and hot steamy sex. I was entertained and enjoyed this book, but I think Alexis Abbott missed out on some suspense. There was a point in the book I had built up for this big showdown but it never happened. I was a little disappointed with that, but Alexis Abbott took the book a different direction. So for me it kind of petered out on the suspense. I did find myself rooting for Nikolai and Anastasia. Anastasia is spoiled, sheltered yet she has a head on her shoulders. Some important people underestimated her. She is smarter that what people give her credit for. I liked her. With Nikolai it took a little longer to like him, because when we are introduced to him I was not sure about him. Then the story started to unfold and I came to like him. If you are an Alexis Abbott fan in my opinion it's not her best, but I think it's worth reading. It's just in some areas it missed the mark for me. I received an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.
I can be sure to get a sexy story full of suspense with lots of action each time I pick up a book by Alexis Abbott. Her characters are vivid, the emotions and turmoil are raw and real, and a plot that gets your heart pounding. Killing For Her did not disappoint and had a wonderfully satisfying ending.
Anastasia is sheltered by her father, and although she has an idea his business has a criminal aspect to it, she is unaware she is a Bratva princess soon to be married to her father’s business partner.
Nikolai wants revenge for what Anastasia’s father and his business partner did to his family. Now that he’s worked his way up to being the best enforcer, it’s time to act. When Anastasia learns the truth, she and Nikolai end up working together. You will be turning the pages as fast as you can for such a thrilling story from beginning to end. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
