Our attraction unleashes a perfect storm… I’m Stormy Weathers. My love life on Earth is one natural disaster after the other. I’m attracted to bad boys, rebels, commitment-phobes. In a crowd of choirboys, I’ll manage to find the jerk. All I want is a man who’ll love me and my young son, so I’m going to an icy planet to become an alien’s mail-order bride. This time will be different! The chemistry I feel with Romando is electric. It doesn’t matter what my sister or her mate or their tribe says, mutual attraction this strong can’t be wrong, so I’ll do anything to get him…
I’m Romando, an outcast in my own tribe. One rash, angry act turned me into a pariah and almost got me banished. But what everyone resents the most is that I’m one of the lucky few who’ll be getting a mate. The instant Stormy Weathers blows into Dakon with the other Earth females, my horns tingle. She is meant for me, but I resist the instinct to claim her. You see, she’s related to my nemesis responsible for my outcast state. Honor and pride dictate that I reject her as a suitable mate before she undermines my good intentions. If only I could get her out of my mind…
Alien Intention is a steamy, humorous alien mail-order bride romance set on an ice planet. It's a standalone read in the Alien Mate series.
USA Today bestselling author Cara Bristol writes science fiction romance about tough alien and cyborg heroes who fall hard for sassy heroines.
Cara is a homebody who married a wanderer. When she’s not writing or being distracted by squirrels cavorting outside her office window, she enjoys reading and traveling the world with her husband. Topping her bucket list is visiting all seven continents and petting a squirrel.
This book represents the death knell of my interest in alien romance.
I think this trope trough is officially empty for me, which is a bummer as I have really enjoyed me some good alien smut in the past (hello, Ruby Dixon); but, alas, I find myself reaching for it less and less...and this book was just plain bad.
There was virtually no character development to be had (although, to be fair, I had finished a Mariana Zapata book the same day as this). And while you're totally right to say, "Bitch, I really doubt you are picking up alien SMUT romance for character development..."
...I've also gotten spoiled over the years and expect at least a little effort in that department.
Also, what character development there WAS?
Made me not like any of the characters.
So there's that.
Anyway, I'm not gonna sit here and and go on bashing this.
I didn't like it. I'm glad I got it for free (or the bashing would have continued). And I won't be reading anymore alien shit for a while.
Alien Intention is book three in the Alien Mate series by Cara Bristol. You can purchase this book by itself or as part of a box set which includes all four books in the series. I don’t know what it was about this one but it seemed even more intense than the previous books. My heart was pounding. But that does tend to happen to me when reading about fated love that is being kept apart. Or, maybe it’s just because with each book, I get to know these characters better and fall more in love with this world.
Romando knows he messed up when it came to who was supposed to be HIS mate, Sunny Weathers. He acted rashly and is now paying the price. Now another group of women are coming to Dakon to find mates and because he lost his chance with the previous group, he is being allowed a chance with this group. And then he saw her. His heart sped up, his horns tingled, and he knew she was the mate the fates had chosen just for him. But then he saw her reunite with his nemesis, and he realized that she is the sister of the woman that ruined his life. There is no way he can take this woman for his mate when she is related to that woman!
Stormy Weathers has arrived on Dakon with her six year old son and can’t wait to begin her life her. Not only does she hope to finally get her own Happily Ever After, she gets to be near her sister. Stormy has always had a special talent for choosing the bad boys. She just wants a loving man, or alien, and someone that will love her son. When she first sees him, she can’t even breathe. She’s pretty sure he noticed her as well. But then he looked away and won’t look at her again. Maybe she was mistaken. She has never had a reaction to any man before like this!
Romando and Stormy both felt the initial pull, that zinging chemistry. But things were not working in their favor. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. And this story is a perfect example of don’t judge a book by it’s cover! Or maybe it’s that bad boys can change. I didn’t think I would like Romando with his previous behavior but I did fall in love with him. And I also loved Stormy. I hated everything these two had to go through to find their way to each other. But once they did, they were both steadfast in their dedication to each other.
I’ve enjoyed all three of the books so far in this series so much. The final book in this series, book four, is called Alien Mischief. It will be Enoki’s story, the leader of all of Dakon. It sounds really different than the other books and I can’t wait.
Alien Intention is book three in the Alien Mate series by Cara Bristol.
This one had me glued to the pages. I couldn’t put it down. There was just something about this one that seemed more intense and had me fixated on the story to see what miss fortune might befall our characters next and how it would all play out.
Fated mate storylines are hit or miss for me. Some authors can do them justices while others fall short. Cara Bristol and her Alien Mate series has done this type storyline well and kept me coming back for more.
Romando gets a second chance, but when he finds out his fated one is sister to his nemesis, the one who ruined his life, he decides he can’t take this women as his.
Stormy arrives on Dakon with her six year old son and she can’t wait to begin her new life. She’s excited to be near her sister and hoping for her HEA.
Stormy and Romando felt that initial pull, zing of chemistry, but as fate would have it things don’t go as planned and everything that can go wrong, does.
I liked this romance. I wasn’t a fan of Romando from the previous books; because of his behavior, but we see that the bad boy can change. I liked that our hero learned from his mistakes, understood that what he did before was wrong, and that we see that he’s willing to work and show that he has changed. I loved Stormy too. I really felt for this couple and everything they had to go through to find their way to each other. I will say I wish karma would have bitten the mean girl in this novel. Really she was a piece of work and karma needed to knock her down.
I’ve had a blast with the Alien Mate series and I’m looking forward to the final novel. If you are in the mood for light and lively sci-fi romance with a touch of humor and spice then I recommend diving into this series.
Stormy always falls for the bad boys on earth, but falling for a handsome, brooding alien will be different, right? I have such a good time with this series. Light and amusing, sexy and exciting sci-fi romance at its best.
Alien Intention is the third book in the Alien Mates series. It is directly tied to the book that came before it and probably wouldn't work well out of order.
Alien Intention involves the sister to Sunny, the heroine of book two, and the villain from that book. Oh yes, you read that one right. Stormy falls for the bad guy. But, Romando had his reasons and now he's ready to prove that he's changed when he gets a second opportunity to choose a mate. Only, a couple people don't want Stormy to find a handsome alien and be happy or for Romando to get a second chance. And, Romando, himself, isn't sure he wants the sister of his enemy no matter how attracted he is to her.
I enjoyed Stormy as the plucky heroine who has had a few bad breaks, but doesn't let it get her down. She's sweet, but she has inner strength. She loves her sister, but they don't see eye to eye and Stormy's track record with men go against her.
Romando was great. I felt so sorry for him. He just couldn't seem to catch a break and no one deserves the situation he was originally stuck in at the beginning of the story when he got saddled with a harpy mate. He let his anger make him do something stupid in the last book. He really isn't a bad guy, but now he's got a reputation and others are willing to use it to their advantage.
The romance was love at first sight, but there were complications so it felt just right the way it all developed. And, whew boy did this pair make up for lost time when they finally did come together. Seeing them have to fight to be together and seeing how their personalities compliment each other was great.
Devon, Stormy's little boy was a cutie and I loved the scenes when Romando treated him like he was really his father and he wanted Devon as his son as much as he wanted Stormy as his mate.
The conflict in this plot was great. Just when I think things would work out, boom, there was a twist. And, then more trouble. The hero and heroine really have to work and fight for what they wanted and a few nasty persons that needed a Kel to run them over.
I'm not sure if there are more from this series, but I saw that there is a spin-off series of Alien Mail-Order Brides that has me excited to keep reading in the Alien Mates world. I can't recommend this series enough for those who are in the mood for light and quick sci-fi romance reads with a touch of humor and sultry alien loving in a nicely developed plot.
My thanks to the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story, like the others in this series it is full of adventure. Stormy heads to Dakon to find herself a mate, as her sister Sunny had done 12 months earlier. Problems arise when the Dakonian she sets her sights on, turns out to be the dakonian who kidnapped her sister 12 months earlier. Throw into that mix a world class bitch called Cyndra, and Stormy Weathers starts living up to her name.
The third installment in the Alien Mate series, I enjoyed this more than the first one. The less than perfect heroine, Stormy, has had bad luck with men and doesn't trust her judgement. Impulsive, with a big heart, she is also a single mom. Her bad boy alien may be a rebel, but his big heart matches hers and he is thrilled she comes with intrepid little boy to nurture and guide. The villains in this are driven by common flaws of envy, greed, and anger.
BEWARE WHAT YOU ASK OF THE FATES, THEY MAY GRANT IT
Once again, Cara Bristol has spun an amazing Sci-fi tale with this new series. Two planets, each needing something, and working out an exchange program. Earth or Terra needs the illuvian ore to power things on earth, and Dakon needs females to help populate their planet after an asteroid centuries ago wiped out so many of their people. Along with it came a virus that killed out females, leaving them with only a few, and even fewer children being born. The story will grab you from the beginning to the end and keeps you guessing as unexpected details emerge. This is the third book in the series and could read as a stand-alone and has characters from the previous books.
Stormy Weathers and her son, Devon, are on the transport from Terra to Dakon where she will be joining her sister, Sunny, and also will be mated in the lottery program as one of the one-hundred brides. She will be near her sister, she will have a mate, and Devon has a future.
“We’re like mail-order brides about to be married to men we’ve never met. Not any men, aliens. Who knows what will happen? Everything will work out the way it’s supposed to.”
Romando of Polonio tribe is given a second chance of a bride. He lost his chit that Darq found and claimed Sunny. But then he also dishonored his tribe by kidnapping Sunny. While he has one of the one-hundred chits, it is also number one hundred, so he won’t get a choice in brides.
“Earth women wanted men for companionship. Dakonian men needed women for survival. You could say Dakonians were motivated to make relationships work.”
The plot will have Stormy and Romando making eye contact from the beginning of the brides entering the room. Even when several men approach her, she turns them down, three in fact. But what happens when it is down to two Dakon and two women?
“Stormy. Her name foretold of a tempestuous nature. Romando. A romantic, manly name. And those eyes! They were so brooding, so mysterious. My stomach fluttered.”
I loved the story and especially loved the chemistry between Stormy and Romando. While Sunny and Darq are very unhappy with Stormy rejecting their friends, the last person they wanted her with was Romando. Even the Fates seemed to be against them. But technicalities may play a critical role in working things out. Too bad evil persist, along with bad blood, and anger. There are several intense moments of life, death, and survival. There are also many laughing out loud moments as the idioms that Stormy is great at using is confusing to Romando. It is amazing how a child is a better judge of a person’s character than narrow-minded adults.
The story is a roller-coaster ride and journey for both Stormy and Romando as they fight for what they want and refuse to give up. Their chemistry sizzles on the pages and between the kel. This is one time that Stormy makes the right choice in her life and for her son, Devon.
I absolutely adore this series! Each book is such a pleasure to read, with new alien culture controversy and romantic tension, and Cara Bristol makes the world seem more human with each book. This book centered around the "villain" of the previous book, so I thought it was interesting to read about his redemption. He wasn't such a bad guy that it was impossible, but I was certainly anticipating a rocky road ahead of him, which the author delivered. It was great to his side of the story after only seeing one side of things before.
After her son finally received his life-saving heart operation, Stormy Weathers is ready to find everlasting love through the Terra-Dakon Goodwill Exchange Program. With just a few personal belongings and her son along for the ride, Stormy is determined that she will find the right guy after having made several bad choices in men on Earth. Upon arrival, all the women are created by the 100 lucky Dakonian males who were chosen to receive a mate. Although her sister, Sunny, has the perfect male lined up, Stormy’s attention is captivated by only one Dakonian in the room – Romando. Of course, she doesn’t realize that the man of her dreams is the man of her sister’s nightmares, since he was the one who kidnapped Sunny last year. Both Stormy and Romando are instantly drawn to each other, but through the mate selection process, they each end up with other mates instead. Now they have to learn to survive without each other, or else Romando will cause yet another scandal that could lead to banishment this time.
The insta-lust these two experienced had me rooting for them from the very beginning! It was so cute how they had eyes only for each other, and although Stormy eventually learned of Romando’s history with her sister, she chose to understand the nature of what happened from an outsider perspective. Let’s be honest – Darq had stolen Romando’s chip that would have allowed Romando to have a mate, so although one wrong doesn’t make a right, I can understand why events played out the way they did. Romando was childish in his actions…but so was Darq. And Romando realized he was wrong and understood that what he did should never be repeated. His maturity showed itself well in this book, as he tried to not let temptation drive his actions. Thankfully, as this is a romance with a HEA, Stormy and Romando don’t stay apart for long. I liked how she stood by her man and didn’t let the other males boss her around. Standing up to her sister was also a win for her in my book! That took a lot of courage.
As always, I can’t wait to read the next book written by Cara Bristol! She has definitely made the alien subgenre a must for me in my reading list.
**I received a free copy from the author and this is my honest review.**
Earth traded human women for rocks in the Terra-Dakon Goodwill Exchange Program. Illuvian ore could power anything and the people of Earth wanted as much of it as they could get. After an asteroid hit Dakon and sent it into an ice age and also killing off many of its inhabitants, they were in search of females to keep their species going. Many of the single females of Earth were eager to leave and meet their new alien mates. Stormy has a young son and is hoping to meet a male on Dakon who will treat her and her son right and maybe even be happy.
As soon as Romando sees Stormy, he knows she is his but there are those on his planet that don't want them together. One other Earth female makes things a lot harder than they should have been and for some reason has it out for Stormy. So while Stormy and Romando don't end up together right away, they all see the error of their ways soon enough and they do end up together as mates.
While they are getting to know one another, other are plotting to make sure they are exiled or worst. Things shouldn't have been as bad and complicated as they were but it was all because a few people couldn't be happy for themselves and mind their own business. But I loved Stormy and Romando and was so glad that they ended up together. I'm really enjoying this series and plan to read more from this author soon.
Stormy Weather has witnessed her sister meeting her mate and hopes to find a mate for herself via the Terra-Dakon Goodwill Exchange Program. When she arrives on planet Dakon, however, she finds herself instantly attracted to the one aliennamed Romando, but he seems to be doing his best to avoid laying any claim to her.
When Romando realizes that Stormy is the actually the sister to the woman he had kidnapped a while ago, all because he had lost a chit, and with it, a chance at having a mate, he takes great pains to avoid ending up with Stormy, even though he is clearly aroused for this woman. But when the woman he actually chooses turns out to be someone he now longer wishes for, Romando leaves, and instead of finding the solitude he was seeking, he ends up rescuing Stormy, who has had a similar realization with her own mate.
Fortunately for them, one fortuitous oversight in the selection process turns out to be much more, opening the door for them to be together, although their union is against the wishes of his own tribe and Stormy’s sister and husband. How will they ever be together when Romando might not even be allowed to remain with Stormy and her son?
Well, I pretty much had anxiety all through this. I love the bad boy getting the girl, and how they fought and stood up for each other against all odds. I'm glad Romando got redeemed!
Wow.... just wow... this was soooo bad, can’t even say...just wow...
I’m gonna sound awful here but I soooooooooo can’t believe all the “rave “ reviews for this book.... This was one the dumbest things I have ever read, I love Romanado and Stormy for the part but words just fail me on this ... The between the plot outlined and the reviews I couldn’t wait to into this book, I even spent more than I wanted.. Boy, that was a big mistake .... Deep breath ..... this story was soo F’ing annoying ,I can barely type straight . Ok,have you ever watched a daytime soap ? This was kinda like one on steroids, lying, cheating , “adultery”,Conniving, manipulations, theft, kidnapping you name it almost and it all happened in less than a week.... This was soo F’ed up...
Ok,Stormy comes to this frozen wasteland of a planet 🌎 where I’m guessing all the world building was done in the last because none was done in the story, any way,Stormy gets here and basically finds her “fated mate” in Romanado who is sadly forever cast in the role of “evil villain “ and no one except for Stormy and Devon wants to see him as anything else .... Ok,side note I just Can. Not. .CAN NOT stress how much I Hate that *Itch Sunny and her mate,( dear lord, never cross that hypocritical *itch because she will_never_let_it_go,selfish and self absorbed don’t even begin to desc. that awful “Sunny” chick.. sorry, I digress.... she and her mate were almost worse than the ‘bag guys” of the story...
Will contain spoilers... Ok,Stormy gets there she sees Romanado, he sees her and it’s an instant scorching connection ..... Sadly because of Sunny our H acts like an idiot pushes Stormy away and a scheming evil skank is able to get her claws in him and even though the females are told it’s all there choice ,well it’s a lie... Stormy and Cyndra argue over Roman and the others not caring who gets what pushes Stormy to another man... Who is just another lying schemer just like Cyndra.... See here’s the thing, here that’s like a classic GH (General Hospital) moment ,when ever someone is cast into the baddie role it doesn’t matter if they went out and saved a literal boat load of widows and orphans and then topped it off with donating a kidney to a long lost cousin the town will still reserve the right to call them trash and spit on them and assume the worst f them first chance they get.... And that’s what happened to Roman and Stormy, it takes Roman less than 20 minutes to know she’s horrible and plots to get away,Stormy about a day or soo but she knows somethings off much sooner.... A day or soo w/her new “mate” and she’s trying to get away even though her crazy scheming sister doesn’t want to see the truth... Stormy and Roman don’t get together til over 50% of the book ,but the weird thing is that’s only like three days or less on the planet, your just forced to swim thru soo much mess and too many p.o.v s to get there .. While Stormy and Roman are”getting together” their former “mates” that never really were, are lying and scheming and manipulating their way into literally taking everything these two own, even getting away with dismantling Romans home... As crazy and convoluted as it was I thought foolishly surely this was the worst of it... No,sadly it was more like “but wait there’s more” .... The two escape all that only to make it to her sisters tribe hoping for some sympathy or empathy or compassion or at least some kind of help, instead Sunny helps insure these two will be continued to be kept apart by making sure the tribe insists on Roman leaving .... If I were Stormy I’d have been banished for attempted murder of my so called sister... Roman leaves her for her own supposed good, only for the poor B to be kidnapped and abused by her “ex mate” because he’d already been dumped and double crossed by the others .... Roman saves her again and they have to beg and plead to stay with the morons of her evil sisters tribe who still doesn’t want to forgive Roman for his supposed “kidnapping” all the while Not. A. Damn. Thing! Happens to any of the ppl who plotted and schemed and hurt Stormy and Roman... WTH Poor Roman has his actions held against him at each and every turn and both he and Stormy are hurt by this but when they are hurt and abused and robbed NO ONE seems to care.. Not even when Stormy is kidnapped ... This was crazy and it all happened in less than a week... Never reading this writer again ...
Wow, I’m finding it hard to think of words for this review when I can’t wrap my head around this book. The hero and and heroine, well I loved them both, they both were hit with the mating bug at first sight but due to a few snags the two don’t get ‘paired’ together right away. Now here’s where things get tricky. This book has two side characters, you know the type, ones who are so clearly jealous of the hero or heroine (this case both) that they will do anything in their hatred to ruin their happiness. Ugh and what really angers me is when things just wrap up ever so sweetly and you never get that vindication. Granted the hero and heroine get their HEA, it was so clear they belonged together since she walked into the mating area. But the true villain in the story as far as we know just gets to live on in her treachery and undoubtably ruining the lives of more people. Worse yet these type of people are like cockroaches, impossible to get rid of/kill. I really think I’m just in a tizzy because I felt Stormy and Romando suffered too much. I’m territorial of my leads and I don’t like how these two truly never even got to explain their whole story. Like tell everyone to shut the f*ck up and lay it out since she was screwed over since she arrived on the planet. And on top of things I found the heroines sister Whitney and annoying. Sure you have a grudge but do you truly hate your sister so much that you’d send her mate out in the middle of a blizzard and in fact press for his banishment? I don’t know maybe I’m mad over nothing. The book was interesting considering it’s a vague recreation of a popular plot line. I don’t like evil to win in the end and I guess I just can’t feel a true HEA for the characters when I worry their enemies could pop back in anytime in the future. I think the drama was a bit much at times and I’m pretty sure that’s why I’m pissed, there was so much happening it was like an alien soap opera lol. I don’t dissuade anyone from readin it, again from my review it must be confusing but I truly enjoyed the story. St the very least I loved the hero, heroine and her son. Everyone else could be thrown in a volcano for all I care ;) I should be clear, I didn’t read either the first or second book, and at this point I’m glad I didn’t because if one of those books is about her sister, I shudder to think I might have been on her side during this book.
This is the third book in the Alien Mates series by Cara Bristol. Alien Intention can be read as a stand-alone book, but I really enjoy the entire series, so I recommend to start with book one, Alien Mate.
This series takes place on the planet of Dakon. This planet was hit with by an asteroid that made Dakon a mostly frozen planet, with a short thaw season. The women were also hit by a virus on the asteroid that really hurt the number of females on the planet. Earth currently has more women than men. So Earth makes a deal with Dakon. Trade a valuable illuvian ore, that Earth is using for power, for women. The first group of women were convicts and forced to go. After that, it is on a volunteer basis.
So, in this story, we have Stormy and her son coming to Dakon. Stormy is the sister of Sunny, the heroine of Alien Attraction. Stormy was a reality star, just like her sister, but quit the show much sooner, because of her son. But, she is still somewhat famous and this causes strife between her and one of the other women that came to Dakon.
Romando was a large character in Alien Attraction. He was chosen to receive a mate, but lost his chit, which told him where he was to pick of the women who arrived. So, he proceeded to steal the mate of the man who used his chit. Now, he’s an outcast in his tribe. They feel that he disgraced the tribe. Things don’t get easier when he is forced to take woman who doesn’t like Stormy. This woman makes things really difficult for both him and Stormy.
The Alien Mate series continues to be a fun read. If you’re a fan of sci-fi romance or even paranormal romance, this is a series that I think you’ll enjoy. The characters are a lot of fun. The world is well developed. I don’t know if there will be more books in this series. I do know she’s working on a spinoff series, where the men come to Earth because they are tired to wait their turn. That could be interesting. I can’t wait.
**Book was provided to me by the author. This review is my opinion and was not requested or provoked in anyway by the author.
Alien Intention the third book in the alien made series by Cara Bristol, another ship of women arrive on the planet and one of them is Sunny sister stormy and her six-year-old son Devon as soon as she sees Ramundo leaning against the wall stormy nose she is found her alien But unfortunately fate has something else in store because when it’s time to go home with her mate it isn’t Ramundo. Sunny couldn’t be happier because Sunny and Raymundo have a past and it isn’t a pleasant one. Sonny totally loves stormy’s mate especially when the alien she does wind up with seems too good to be true and unfortunately stormy will find that out the hard way. this really is a terrible review but I just wanted to write a quick summary of how awesome these books are I cannot stop reading them I love this author‘s books she has me spellbound and I don’t know what I will do after the next book because there’s no book 5 but I’m sure she’s working on that. these books are funny they have wonderful characters scenes with action, drama but most importantly swoonny moments that are sweet and not full of gratuitous detailed sex but apropos to the story and they don’t last long. Love this book so much can’t wait for the next one and the next one and then the next one.#TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview,
The Dakon ❄ planet🌍 is a snowy one with mostly winter. Not a fan! Having lived in Alaska for over 20 years, experience has shown me long winters are boring at the least, and can be devastating to relationships and mental health. So, not sure why any woman in her right mind would want to live on Dakon ❄ for more than a few years.
Stormy, a human bride👰, of course is attracted to Romando🐺, the bad boy Dakon. The tall, horned and warrior like men🐺, have a lottery system for the human women👰. When his winning lottery chit is stolen from him, Romando🐺🔪 steals a woman and is ostracized for it. In The next shipment, he is allowed the very last woman of the 100 to arrive. But Romando🐺🍆🌋🔪 sees Stormy👰 and she sees him, and it's love💘 at first sight, even though Stormy👰 is picked by another Dakon🐺.
The book revolves around the conflict between the Dakon who picks Stormy👰 for his mate and her true mate, Romando🐺🍆🌋.
It's an okay read📕, something to pass the time with.
I have to admit I am enjoying this series. Alien Intention is Stormy and Romando's story. This novel was steamy, suspenseful, and sweet. Stormy and Romando had instant chemistry from the moment they met. Yet it wasn't all smooth sailing from the start. Yes Romando was the villain in the previous novel but he was the hero in this story and what an amazing hero he was. This page-turner was fast paced and sweet and I enjoyed it. It was a good read.
Another nice entry to this series. I loved how Bristol built the tension as the story began. A mistake was made and it takes a tension filled and dangerous path to make everything work as it should. We get to see more of the characters from the first two books and there is more backstory and world building as the series progresses. It is a big surprise how Stormy and Romando make a really great couple considering Romando's past actions in the previous books. Now if everyone will just forgive a mistake in his past.
The ship of women now orbiting the planet Dakon had signed up in the Terra-Dakon Goodwill Exchange Program where Earth traded marriageable women in exchange for the energy-rich mineral, illuvian ore. A few hundred years ago, Dakon had been hit by an asteroid. Aside from killing many, a virus was released which drastically decreased female births. The population was dying out when they were discovered. The fact that they needed women and Earth needed the energy rocks made for a perfect trade! Stormy Weathers’ sister already found her mate previously and lived on Dakon. Stormy had been delayed in signing up because her 6-year-old son, Devon, had a congenital heart problem and they had to stay on Earth until the artificial heart surgery was completed by the specialists. Now it was Stormy’s turn to find someone she could love and who would love her and Devon.
Polonio went to Romando’s hut to warn him to be honorable at the choosing today. He was getting a mate, because the Head of the Council gave him a chit to replace his lost one from the previous choosing, but he was the “bad boy” who had dishonored his tribe in the past by kidnapping another man’s wife whom he felt should have been his. Polonio warned that tribe leader Darq -- who had found Romando’s lost mate-chit back then and used it to claim his mate Sunny -- would be at the choosing, and they would prefer to avoid Romando. Romando’s chit was #100 so he would get the last remaining woman after all others had been chosen.
Romando immediately spotted the woman he knew The Fates meant for him! His whole body reacted and growl erupted which he masked with a cough. But he remembered that 99 other men would have to refuse her or she would not be his. As he noticed she had a small child, he heard a woman scream, “Stormy!” And his mate screamed back, “Sunny!” Oh no.
Several men had tried to choose Stormy, but she refused them, waiting for Romando to approach her. As #99 asked the miserable, nasty Cyndra to be his mate, she saw Stormy’s happiness and refused him in order to hurt her. That automatically left her with Romando. She was crabby, selfish, nasty, and rude to him, especially when he didn’t have a vehicle to take her home and she had to walk on her spiked designer boots. After falling several times on the snow, Romando snapped off both of the heels so she could safely walk -- to her horror! And instead of the one bag each woman was permitted, she had brought 5 and made him carry all but a tiny one. She told him she would be going back to Earth when the next ship arrived. She thought he would mate with her when they got to his hut, but she let it slip that he had not asked her to accept him as a mate at the ceremony – it had just been stated as fact when she was the last one left. Without his asking that question, they were not officially mated! He told her she could find another and he would help, but they were not suited. He drove off on a skimmer to give her a few days to decide what she wanted.
Trying to show Romando that Stormy wanted him, Vondan grabbed her forcefully and tried to demand a kiss. It looked like they were kissing from a distance, even though she was fighting and pushing him to resist the attack. Romando misinterpreted what he saw and knew there was no longer hope for him to be with Stormy. But when Stormy went to talk to Gretchan about what happened, Gretchan said only the request to be mates and the woman’s acceptance made the mating successful – and they had never exchanged those questions. They were not mates! Stormy took a skimmer and went to her sister’s camp to get away from Vondan and join up with her son who was with Aunt Sunny. But she followed the wrong set of tracks to camp. She took a wrong turn and a kel ran in front of her, causing her to wreck. Alone in the freezing wilderness, lost, how was she going to survive? No one knew she did not make it to her sister’s camp! She had no survival gear and left her small bag behind in the wrecked skimmer. Would she survive? Would her son become an orphan?
This was such an exciting book! I had read Sunny’s story, so this one felt familiar and kept me eagerly reading! A mixture of various events seemed to keep Romando and Stormy apart, despite their obvious attraction to each other. But nothing went right! Grab a copy of this exciting book and see what fate has in store for each of them.
Sunny Weathers and her mate Darq are blissfully cohabitating with Torg and all is right in the world as Sunny awaits her sister Stormy and nephew Devon's arrival on Dakon. After the SS Redemption lands and the women dismount to shouts of "obah, obah", the selection process begins. Stormy's ready for a fresh beginning but more importantly, she can't wait to see Sunny. While the two sisters celebrate, Stormy catches the eye of one of Dakon's most notorious residents...Romando.
Oh fates, no!
During the selection process, Sunny catches Stormy eyeing Romando and Romando eyeing Stormy back. Instant attraction both ways but Sunny's not having any of that. After all, Romando did kidnap Sunny and take her to his hideout after Darq found Romando's chit and deceptively kept it as his own and claimed Sunny as his mate. Romando discovered the deceit and decided to take the mate Darq cheated him out of. Short of being banished, Romando has become an outcast in his tribe but there is a little justice for him. He received a chit in the bride selection. However, Romando holds chit number one hundred assuring he has no choice and has to take whoever is left.
Earth women are easy...
Jealous and catty and petty on any planet. Stormy's draws a lot of attention on Dakon with several suitors asking her to be their mate which infuriates her nemesis Cyndra who is livid that Stormy has had and rejected multiple mates while she has received none. As fate would have it, Stormy and Cyndra are the last two standing when to add salt to the wound, Vondan, one of Romando's tribe mates, askes Cyndra to be his mate and Cyndra refuses because she's figured out that Stormy was waiting on Romando to ask her. Romando has no choice as Enoki has deemed Cyndra to be his mate...robbed once again.
The Terrainian Devil...
Cyndra is bound and determined to make Romando's life a living hell on ice. Romando despises everything about Cyndra and equally, Cyndra despises everything about Romando--since he only has eyes for Stormy. When Cyndra finally accepts that Romando will never be hers, she has a meltdown and sends him packing. Fortunately for Romando, he has a hideout to retreat to. All is not well for Vondan and Stormy. Vondan realizes that Stormy doesn't want to be his mate and he's not fond of her "kit" Devon so things are just not going to work out. Stormy decides to leave Vondan and sets out to stay with her sister until she can figure out what she's going to do and it's obvious what happens next on the frigid Dakon tundra.
A plan is hatched...
Vondan is seething with disdain for Romando as is Cyndra for Stormy. The two decide to join forces and plot to find a way to get rid of both Stormy and Romando for good.
The Alien Mate trilogy is fun-filled and worth the read. Alien Intent is the best in the series and not surprisingly, Romando, the underdog, wins my favor as most worthy of a mate. 4 stars.
What an emotionally charged story that created some high tension at times. This definately is my new favorite alien book. There is so much action and adventure in this story, that it kept me glued to the page and I could not put it down. Also, there were so many memorable characters that I could relate to. There were so many different points of view. Unlike most books I have read that only have one or two. We have our heroine, Stormy, a strong, independent, loyal, loving and righteous woman. Her son Devon, inquisitive, adorable, bright and loving. . Our hero, Romando, a man's man, humble, honest, hardworking and principled. The villain, Vondan, a two-faced usurper who caused Romando and Stormy a lot of trouble and caused Romando to be banished. Cyndra, an evil, depraved princess who is jealous and envious of Stormy. At every opportunity she disparages her. It is easy not to like her. She is an opportunist and took advantage of any man that could get her what she wanted. Cyndra wanted to hurt Stormy. She colluded with Vondan to get back at Stormy and Romando. Sunny is Stormy's sister, a loud mouthed, grudge holding shrew towards Romando but very loving to Stormy, Devon and her husband Darq. Darq was unscrupulous toward Romando. However, he did love Sunny and accepted her family. Polonio an unethical tribal leader who caused the expulsion of Romando and Vondon. Torg, leader of another tribe. He takes all things into consideration when making decisions. He is a fair man. This is a very exciting read about soul mates, making mistakes, making restitution for those mistakes and the revealing of one's true nature when tested. I know you will like this book, I certainly did. I highly recommend it. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the 3rd book in the Alien Mate series. I would recommend reading the ones before it or at least book 2 so you know what happened with the main characters in this book. Otherwise you may be slightly confused. This one is about Romando and Stormy. Romando is an outcast in his tribe after making a bad decision. After almost being banished he is trying to just work his way back into his tribe. And he is being allowed to have a mate even after everything that happened before. Stormy is hoping that coming as an alien mate will be the new start her and her son need. She doesn't know what happened between her sister and Romando. But she knows that she is attracted to him from the start and then thinks that it isn't returned. And because the past is still influencing the future, it puts events into motion that neither are expecting. And they certainly aren't planning for what happens next.
I am so glad that Romando got his chance to redeem himself! I really loved this book. Stormy is an incredible person who has been through a lot with her son and she has such strength to realize that even though she is a mom she still needs to be able to have something for herself too. And Romando may have made a huge mistake but when you understand his reasoning behind it and really think about how he felt, it makes it a little more understandable. Especially when you see him understand just how much it hurt other people. And just reading about how he is with not only Stormy's little boy but with all kids, he was awesome! And I love how the protagonist gets his comeuppance! Now if only the other one could too!
Alien Intention is the third book in the Alien Mate series. Stormy is finally able to travel to Dakon with her son, to find a good man and hopefully love, just like her sister managed to do! Immediately, she’s attracted to an alien who looks so deliciously bad, but fate intercepts and she’s stuck with a different mate instead. Romando knows he’s messed up, but is happy to have another chance to find a mate, but Stormy isn’t who he expects, but she’s all he wants. While they long for each other, fate and vengeful others keep getting in their way. Can this unlikely couple find their happiness together?
I felt like this book was like a soap opera, where the relationship just seemed doomed, and I just had to know what on Dakon could happen next. I was so enthralled by this book, by the romance, and by the writing that I couldn’t put it down and loved the time I spent reading it! Stormy was so fun, a pretty laid back character until you got her riled up, then you better look out! I loved that! She was so protective of her son, and just wanted a slice of the happiness her sister has. Romando, that silly male, just seemed to keep making mistakes, but thankfully, fate had his back! He was stubborn and at times calculating, but his scenes with the children just melted my heart! I loved Stormy and Romando together, I loved the ending of this book, and I loved how everything came together! This series has been a lot of fun to read and I loved this addition to the series!
I really liked this book in large part because I like seeing good guys triumph over people who try to be sneaky and use subterfuge and underhanded tactics to get what they want. That said, things could have been a leeeetle more painful for two certain someones after the things they put Romando and Stormy through.
Teeny, tiny bit.
But I digress. Romando and Stormy. Romando made some not-so-great choices before Stormy's arrival on Dakon and he's not in the best standing with both his tribe and Stormy's sister's group. Which makes things AWKWARD when Romando and Stormy have to head to Sunny's place to ask for help.
Stormy, on the other hand, has done nothing wrong, but bad things keep happening to her. Starting with being foisted off on a suitor she's not attracted to instead of the one who gets her motor going. The fact the guy who does it for her is the same one who caused trouble for Sunny and her mate is just the cherry on the sundae.
Possessive aliens and the women who love them. It's my thing. I like Dakon and all the weirdness it brings to the people who are trying to build a new life there.
This book was a lovely read in this next book of the Dakonian brides !! I thought it was funny , and very exciting, and I could barely put down to sleep !! In this story we meet Stormy, Sunny's sister, along with her son Devon. Remember from the previous book, where Sunny is a reality star, and had come from Earth to be a bride so that she could get the funds to pay for her nephews very expensive , life giving surgery...... So Stormy and her son finally get to Dakonian, and immediately, things go wrong !!!! The Dakonian she wants, is the same one that had put her sister in a very awkward situation. Needless to say, no one approves of Stormy's choice..... Romando knows that he has done some things in the past that were beyond questionable, and he is hopefull for a better future..... Until he realizes that the curvy female that makes his horns throb is Sunny ' s SISTER !!!! The Fates are surely laughing at him......
I thought that thus book was a super fantastic read !! And u will be reading the rest in these series about the lovely, uber sexy Dakonians !!!
Stormy and Sunny really were misnamed, each has the wrong temperament for their names LOL.
Stormy and her son has made it to their new home and she is drawn to a certain brooding giant...always the bad boy for Stormy it would seem. But as usual not all is as it seems. Sunny is trying to match-make, Stormy is facing jealousy and envy from a certain party and then there is Romando!
Romando had a valid beef after his chit was mislaid and misappropriated last time. But Sunny and her mate can only keep the whole "kidnap" thing in the front of their minds. Romando just deprived Sunny of her mate temporarily LOL. He has learned his lesson but it looks like fate is being a fickle female yet again!
Stormy just keeps trying to see the upside and not make waves. She wants a father for her son and if she can lust after her new mate, well all the better! I loves how she and Sunny are so totally opposite but have each others back, even when Sunny is trying to mother her!
Devon almost steals the show, bless him. Totally sweet and eager to please! Wondering what will happen next!
