A Dragon has risen. Now the fight to protect it begins. Still trying to master his magic, Fes begins to understand the nature of his power— along with the risks. With a resurrected dragon once more in the world and with the empire believing the worst of the threat is gone, the remaining Deshazl must stop the Damhur incursion into the empire. When a rescue of captured Deshazl goes wrong, Fes finds that his knowledge of his Deshazl abilities might not be enough. Having lived most of his life caring only for himself, he’s now a part of something greater. A war thought ended a thousand years ago returns to the empire, but the powers that stopped the war the last time are no longer. Fes must choose how deeply he wants to get involved. Stopping the war means that those he cares for can understand their heritage and finally unravel the secrets of the empire, while failure means a fate worse than death—for both his people and the dragons.

Really a 3.5 rating...

My reviews for the first 3 books in the series were harsh, 2's and 3's. But I kept reading (I can't leave a series unfinished) and FINALLY in book 4 I have been pleasantly surprised. The storyline is good. And in this book the flow and movement of the book was much improved. The author showed depth and some good plot twists. What bothers me (still) is repetitive internal monologue, to many question marks and quiet frankly had editing. "But would it be enough?" Is a statement i read way to many times *insert eye roll* and "but was he strong enough to do it?" I swear sometimes it's so repetitive i skip pages. BUT the main character Fezarn, really finds himself in this book. And finally some dragon action! Creative and unique and guys. ... Err ladies i guess in this case. Entertaining fight scenes. I'm not at all ready to recommend this series, But it seems I'm hooked and pushing on to book 5.

Loved it!

I truly am enjoying this series. The first book started off slow. But these next few books have increased in action and adventure. You will not be disappointed in this book. Fes learns a lot more about himself and learns more control. I can’t wait to read the next book. Thank you D.H. I am loving this series you wrote!

What's in a name?

Just coming into his own, learning who he is, this strange power he never knew he had. Fezarn, always hated the name, going by Fes instead. Until he learns he shares a connection to a powerful dragon whose name is the same. So much to learn... So just what is in a name?

Kept me reading

I always read in the morning while I walk in the treadmill. When my work out is finished..my reading time is over. Well today I find myself sneaking back to my kindle and reading again. I could not stop! This is a great series and has entertained me so much today that I might not have clean clothes tomorrow!!

Addicting

I started this series because I was waiting for the next book in another series by D.K. Holmberg. And now I can't wait to get to the next one. The main character, Fezarn, continues to grow with each book. I have continued to be impressed by the worlds that Holmberg puts on his stories.

Wonderful

Another wonderful novel in this series. I am anxious to get started on the next novel.

The war that most in Fes’s land thought was over has come back. The dragons and the deshezl (sp) are in danger of being controlled. Can they put an end to this war for good? Let’s start the next in this series and hope that the dragons and the deshezl can be victorious.

The fall of the deshazl

The continuation of the story was good but unnecessarily lengthy In some parts. In this saga the emphasis was on the Damhur but no development on the new warriors that were discovered outside of the damhur. Liked it but could've used more work. 😊

Intrigue upon intrigue filled with betrayal

Should be 10 stars. It just gets better and better. I have been a fantasy reader all my life and I am old. Once you open the first book you are hooked. Mr. Bloomberg is far more than a writer of fantasy. He is a Storyteller.

I'm continuing to enjoy this series quite a bit. This one was a slight drop-off from the previous book, mostly because I felt the pace slowed down a bit too much in the middle. It was still good, just not quite at the same level as the previous book.

Great series

Finally a dragon but what will the future bring. Fezarn continues to grow as he learns more about his power to connect with others of power. Just part of this wonderful story that finally looks like there is a way to stop this ancient war. Or is there??

Inward and outward battles

Starts a little slow, but pulls you in with hidden truths. Fez starts the process of learning who he really is, and along the way, gains friends and allies. He fights the battle if his life and it strengthens him, but is it enough?

Amazingly well written series, I became very invested in the characters and couldn't wait to read the next volume. At first glance a series 7 volumes long might seem daunting but I was soon snatched away into the world of Dragonwalker and couldn't put each volume down.
