A life of despair, a heart-crippling desire, and a desperate wish to belong.
My life was perfect. Successful career underway, supportive family by my side, a comfortable lifestyle, and my hot, hunky fiancé I assumed would become my life partner.
But then in the span of twenty-four hours, betrayal, rejection, and heartbreak made my world crash down around me.
All alone with no one to turn to, I find myself cradling a lamp given to me by my grandmother, my last connection to someone who loved me. As the clock strikes midnight, I make a silent plea: Let me find where I truly belong.
Never would I have imagined that four half-naked men would be the answer to my plea.
I’m not one to believe in fairy tales, but I’m about to start my own as I travel across the world as Destiny Jinn, granting wishes with four unique men who brighten my once lonely existence.
I am pulled to a new world where wishes can truly become reality—but at what price?
I guess the saying is true - Be careful what you wish for...
GAH just when I think I couldn't handle anymore from WIlson she delivers another new series that seriously make you addicted . Her latest is a mythical tale involving Jinn's and this is no Aladdin tale. These Jinn know the in's and out's and ready to answer calls but be carefully for what you wish for. As you never know what could happen.... Wish for Me , is my new favourite Arabian Night if you want to call it inspired tale . WIlson take is fun as always but there is a balance to the story. A lot happens in this book to settle the background story and so that information squared away so this series can move forward so expect a lot of tearjeaking moments in this one.
Destiny is a fighter and she needs a guy or two to show her truth worth. So those four guys are just the dreamy guys you could ever met and you don't want to get on their bad side. It's been set up interesting so I wonder how things will be moving forward considering that Cole become the leader of sorts. Plus there was some vengeance already so how the other guys show their gifts is going to be interesting. Great start as always , and couldn't be more entertained if I tried.
Just when I think Wilson's books cannot get any better she writes a new and proves me wrong. We start with a downward spiral of horrible for Destiny. As she hits rock bottom she wishes for a new life only to be surprised later when not one but four Jinn show up in answer. What follows is incredible world building with lots of surprises. I can't wait for book two after an ending like that. If you like Jinn, magic, wishes, and romance then you have to read this. I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR AND WHAT YOU READ - this book will leave you wanting more, so much more.
Disclaimer: I was lucky enough to receive a free copy of this book, in exchange for my honest review. However, please note that all opinions and views are my own.
Everyone has a bad day every now and then. It's part of life, and there's nothing to do about it. However, after reading about Destiny's day I feel pretty darn good about even the lousiest day I've had. In one day she learns she's adopted, her fiance breaks up with her (and is already engaged to someone else), her boss calls to sack her while her family home burns around her. Like that isn't enough, she sees a repeated and distorted version of it all on TV, after her narrow escape from the burning house. From the TV, which she's watching at the hotel she fled to, she learns that not only did she supposedly die in the flames - her cats remains were found. No one is bothering to even try and contact her. Friends and family alike has abandoned her, while the TV, as well as her social media accounts, are flooded with R.I.P messages. Within mere days she's basically forgotten and ruled dead to the world. Heartbroken, confused and alone she only has two things left to cling on to. A lamp her granny left for her and a heartfelt wish to find out what her purpose is. Enter four tall, good looking and naked men. With their help Destiny Jinn finally gets a chance to find out who she is, and where she belongs. All she has to do is embrace the path, and find the courage and strength to walk it.
Now on to my fourth series by Yumoyori I'm amazed at how great her work is. Many authors struggle to get 1 book out every few months - which is completely understandable - and then there's Yumoyori who releases like 2+ books every month. If you're anything like me, a born sceptic, you'll be wondering what kind of quality we're talking about here. But there's absolutely no need to worry about that, because each series seem better than the last. I think this is one of the few times where I don't feel that 5 hearts are enough. I absolutely adore Destiny, who is the embodiment of a strong, kind, caring and exceptional character. And the four Jinn's that show up are equally amazing. Yumoyori has done a great job at connecting their Jinn titles to their personalities, Luke Jinn the Humble, Owen Jinn the Adventurous, Jeremiah Jinn the Magnificent and Cole Jinn the Vengeance - are all both entertaining and unique. While there is more focus on one guy (which seems to be typical for Yumoyori), it seems natural and it doesn't push the other guys out of the picture.
Where to start with this book? I started this knowing it was going to be a great book but not realizing how much it would affect me. The actual messages in this book were amazing. The main character learned so much in such a short time of accepting herself, of not letting her past define her, that the negative in something does not take away from the huge positives. A lesson in her own kind of letting go of the hate n her own kind of forgiveness. She had to see the selfishness to witness the selflessness. Yumoyori always knows how to surprise me but this book did more than that. I cant wait to finish this series♡♡♡
This book was amazing it was such a a powerful read that its easily devoured. Destiny is a strong character and I relate to her with my curves and wild hair dying along with the fact we try and always make everyone happy. The characters and descriptions are fantastic my favorite being grumpy galaxy eyes also know as Cole. Anyway i suggest reading this book if you like a very colorful story a d you like jinns
This was a tough one in all honesty. I love all of Yumo’s books but this one missed the mark for me. I was teetering between a 3 and 4 star rating. I like the idea of the story and the guys in the harem a lot. I didnt mind Destiny as much, but I couldn’t connect with her as much. I think Cole stole the show handedly. His background and his feelings were fantastic and engaging and his kissing Destiny on her forehead was absolutely adorable, which made me give it a 4 star rating on here instead of a 3 star.
I think my issue was certain phrases or feelings of characters became pretty repetitive, mostly with Destiny. It kept taking me out of the story and had me skipping some paragraphs because it seemed like it kept coming back to the same thing, almost worded the exact same way, multiple times in one chapter. I think the feelings/thoughts of Destiny and the others were good and drove the story home, but it wasn’t executed effectively or with restraint. I think there needed to be a pruning (can’t think of a better way to describe it) to help the story and not have unnecessary words.
I will definitely read the second book to see how the story evolves and will continue to read and support Yumo’s work. It took til her 33rd (or something close to there) book for me to not be 1000% in love with it, which I think is amazing in and of itself.
Yumoyori did it again. Just when I think she's written the best book yet she outdoes herself yet again. Everyone has a bad day once in a while, yet Destiny's truly takes the cake! In one day her fiance dumps her and is already engaged to someone new, she learns her family isn't truly her family, her boss calls to fire her AND she awakens to her "family" home in flames around her... barely escaping. Not to mention her beloved cat is lost to the flames. As if that's not all horrific enough she sees this all repeated on tv like a twilight zone episode. There were her supposed parents talking about her, yet they are calling her a family "FRIEND"? Her grieving ex fiance played up his supposed heartbreak. What the heck was going on? Within days she was all but forgotten....nobody bothered even calling to see if she might be alive. What has her life become? The only thing she had was her granny's lamp. The gold one she claimed granted her hearts desire. All Destiny knew was she was rudderless. She had no clue what her life held any longer. She just wished she knew what her purpose her was. Next thing she knew, four extremely tall and good-looking naked men appeared out of nowhere. Proving she was most definitely affected more than she'd believed, it didn't even phase her. What she didn't know was that her greatest wish was about to be answered.... who is Destiny? Read this book and learn who this huge hearted, kind, amazing and strong woman is. She might not recall her life prior to the age of eight, but she indeed has a bright and oh so colorful Destiny ahead of her 😉.
I really wished I could give more than five measly stars for this book because it deserves so many more!
No spoilers of any kind included! Yumoyori Wilson has done it again and created another masterpiece because this book was freaking amazing! I started reading this story and I absolutely could not put the book down until I had gotten to the end ( yeah I had a major book hangover afterwards ). Like always I felt like I had went on a very wild roller coaster ride with all the emotions that Yumoyori always puts her readers through. But hey if her books didn’t do that to you then she didn’t write the book. I think that’s why she’s one of my number one favorite authors because of how she’s able to get you to cry like there’s no tomorrow, or growl and yell in anger and laugh like a you are a crazy person. I absolutely love her work and I can’t seem to get enough of her stories. So that is a big HECK YEAH I highly recommend this book because it was totally fantastic!
When Destiny’s life is turned upside down all of a sudden, she wishes to find out where she truly belongs. 4 Jinns answer her call. When they realize Destiny is one of their own, they take her with them to Fantasia, the land where all Jinns live.
This is another great book by Yumoyori Wilson. As per usual, we meet very colorful characters. If there is anything that I’m used to by now it’s Yumo’s vivid character descriptions with an amazing eye for detail. It satisfies my inner (princess and unicorn loving) child ;-)
This book is all about Destiny’s introduction to the Jinn-world and is pretty laid back. We get some witty banter between the Jinns, but also very emotional moments. Jup, I cried. Cole has piqued my interest, there is definitely more there and I can’t wait to read more about his past. Not a cliffhanger here, but definitely a plot that I want to continue reading. Especially with the creeper-Jinn stalking around.
Yumoyori Wilson sure knows how to kick your imagination into high gear and to suck you into new and exciting worlds that really captivate your attention! This book is no different..it starts with a bang and by about page three there were about 5 different people I wanted to slap on Destiny’s behalf! I was fully invested in Destiny straight away and wanted her just to come out with someone living her as she deserved! Bring in the 4 guys..all so different, so interesting and independently complex! They all bring something extra to the story, they all have a great connection together and you can feel them developing that connection with Destiny. Cole of course was the favourite and I loved how he developed throughout the storyline. There were a couple of things that I did not fully enjoy in the story but this did not detract from my live of the book. I am s big fan of Ms Wilson’s and highly recommended this different and intriguing new series!
What a great start! We have Destiny who just had a really REALLY bad day, which turns into a really bad week, and she ends up wishing to find out where she belongs and POOF! Four sexy jinns appear (not genies, totally different). They are here to grant Destiny’s wish! To do that they take her to their own world where we find something interesting about our girl Destiny. This information makes Destiny have to decide on who she’s going to be. It’s a really fun read, but there are some emotional aspects to it that did make the waterfalls turn on! Cole is by far my favorite, not only because he’s got some super cool silver eyes, but because from the start we can see that he has a major backstory that is impertinent to who he is today. We find out a little bit about him that turned him into the jinn today and
Spoiler free, as always! Another Kindle Unlimited read – best investment ever. As another new series by this author, I was super intrigued. The very idea of a jinn/djinn/genie romance/RH was very interesting, and not one I’ve seen a lot of. I’ve read a couple books that have jinn characters, but of course, none with this specific take on the legend, which is always a good thing. Without going into detail, I have to say that I am impressed with the amount of thought and detail given to the world of the jinn in this novel, and while I thought it almost seemed a little too fast paced, I liked the speed given the size of the book. It had a good emotional presence, and the characters were interesting, multi-faceted, and enjoyable to read. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series, to learn more about them.
There are, generally, 2 kinds of people when it comes to adversity. Those who drown in it, and those who fight to rise above. Wish for Me is a perfect example of life throwing everything it can at you and, through the help of others, you rise up anyway. Destiny has it rough. Betrayed by everyone, she almost gives up. Then she discovers the world of the jinn. She finds where she belongs. Even though she is tested, this girl overcomes!! She's got this innocence about her that astounds me considering what she goes through. Yumoyori Wilson, as usual, delivers a fun, well written, deep story that is full of hope despite pain. There's so much potential in the diverse array of men that rescue our heroine and Destiny herself is interesting and relatable. 5 stars!
It took me awhile to decide just how I felt about this book. I love the premise, the concept is amazing and entirely unique. I think Destiny is a great character, and oh my gosh her life was just heartbreaking. The other Jinn seemed like they could be interesting, but there really wasn’t any development of them. There wasn’t really any relationship development either for that matter.
As for the storyline, tons of potential there. This author is well known for having amazing and intricate stories, so I’m really looking forward to seeing where this one goes!
I’m really hoping there’s more development of the characters on the next book. I’d love to see what happens to Destiny and the truth of her past!
What drew me to this book, aside from the author, was the cover. I mean, don’t judge a book and everything, but this cover is stunning. Coupled with the author who wrote it, and I wasn’t not reading it. It was an entertaining story. There are some word and conversational nuances with this author that drive me a little crazy, but they’re her style, and ultimately it’s my hang ups. The story doesn’t suffer for it. It was still entertaining, and I really enjoyed it. I feel liked we didn’t get a lot of time with some of the characters, though, and they didn’t feel incredibly flushed out, but it was book one. It also felt a bit short, but it felt like a good stopping place for the series. Yay, no cliffhanger! All in all, the author drew me in (again!), and I’m looking forward to book two.
I was really interested with reading books with this kind of theme since I rarely read them. It being a reverse harem is just a bonus. This is one of her few more adult genres. The cover is just as lovely.
Wish For Me tells the story of Destiny who had the perfect life but it came all crashing down (will not spoil the reason) and 4 amazing Jinn who cares for her. As usual this story is a cliffhanger and a bit of a slow burner so I can't wait for the next book. However, like all of the author's heroines, Destiny is a strong person and she was able to adapt with her situtation with the help of her men. I can't wait what is in store for Destiny and to know more about each of their backgrounds.
Yumoyori does it again, another great start to another spectacular series! Totally new and different spin on Jinn and their purpose. In this one we meet Destiny and she finds out some devastating news about her family and her life. While on a downward spiral, 4 sexy naked men show up in her life and maybe they can help show her that not is terrible. Fantastic slower burn story about Destiny and her Jinns and her story about where she belongs. I absolutely can not wait to see how their story will progress and how their relationships will develop. I totally fell in love with these characters and their strength especially Destiny. Phenomenal start!
It was okay, this authors descriptions and characters are always interesting and nice but i feel her writing style really needs to improve, theres always a sense of teenage angst/drama/immaturity in the characters that doesnt need to be there if the characters are portrayed as adults. Yes a sense of being a kid inside is always there in ourselves, but the way this authors books are written, the characters all need to have their portrayed ages adjusted to a few years younger to really Have a bigger impact. It Really affects the ability to focus and be absorbed in this authors books when what is written doesnt match the overall vibe.
I came for a smutty fantasy novella and ended up with smut-less (so far) great book who is disguised as something else.
Wow! The writing is impeccable, you'll feel all the love, hate, sorrow, humor, injustice, happiness, longing, and hope.
The plot is super original and profound. A lot is touched here and much is a symbol and a warning for our lives, at least in some way. Despite, it's a light read with tons of humorous moments.
The FMC is GOALS. So far at least. The MMCs are the most hot and hilarious guys ever. Even grumpy Cole, who I have a crush on.
I wish for more! Miss Yumoyori leads us in a great new journey one more time. Her take on the Jinn myth was fresh and full of color and fantasy. In the first book we get to know Destiny and the reason she made her wish, also following her path to became a Jinn herself. The guys are interesting, intriguing and full of great personalities, although in this first book we get to know more of Cole. Since this is just the beginning, we have lots to learn and discover and I wish that this journey lead us through lots of emotions.
This is an absolutely beautiful story. Destiny is a wonderful character, and the dynamic and banter between these characters is funny and adorable. The two sides to wishing was so drastic and beautifully written, Yumo made me cry again with the level of emotion she was able to fit into this book. Yumoyori Wilson is always able to spin stories, with amazing characters, in such a way that make them unforgettable, full of emotion and laughter and leave you wanting more. I look forward to book two!
Wow what a book to start off a new series!! I love Yumoyori's books and this one I couldn't put down... I had to too though... Lol! In this book we meet destiny jinn.. A young woman who had everything she wanted.. A perfect job a fiance she loved and her family... Until it all came crashing down around her! She then meets 4 seriously hot guys who help her in her new journey through life. (I'm not saying more as it will spoil it... You gotta read it!!) Can not wait for book 2
I really liked the premise of this new story from Yumoyori Wilson. We get to see Destiny go from what she thought what a perfect life to being at the bottom and now having to rise back up and make a new life for herself. We meet people who will help her on her journey to finding herself again and get to see her strength. This new story really is enlightening and is one that people young and old will be able to relate to.
I have been looking forward to this story for a while and it did not disappoint. Destiny has a really terrible 24 hours and her whole world falls apart. Then she makes a wish and 4 jinn show up :) I loved their meeting :)
Then there are the guys. We learn most about Cole, and I really liked him, but I am also intrigued by Jeremiah, Luke, and Owen. There is a mystery about Destiny’s origins and I can’t wait to see where this series will take us :)
This one hit me hard. Sometimes relationships end, but not all are as tragic as this one. I felt what Destiny was feeling and was excited for her to find out about her new world. The 4 hunky men don't hurt either. Finding a new family and people, or goddesses, to love her, Destiny is ready for this new job. But it is not as easy as she thought it was going to be. I am loving this new series and can't wait for book 2.
Great start to a new and really refreshing turn on Jinns and their special Magic!
It was intruiging right from the first page and the characters are interesting. I'm curious how they'll develop and especially how the relationships will groß and build. It's not my most favorite Series from Yumo but with so many fantastic stories that's hard to achieve nonetheless this series has a lot of potential and I'm looking forward to see what Yumos magic will create in the sequels.
From the very beginning this story grips you into the hardships of Destiny Jinn. Just when she hits rock bottom and would prefer to die, she’s given the chance at a new life as a Genie. With the help of four sexy genies to guide her, she begins her adventure.
The author’s voice in this tale is both sassy and bold. All the characters are important and play a special piece in becoming a family. I cannot wait to read more!
Brilliant 👍🏻 🧞♂️🧞♀️ I loved 💖 this book 📖 this 4 gorgeous Jinns 🧞♂️and the beautiful Destiny are really starting to form a great relationship with each other and as you read through the story it becomes more intense 😬 , your hooked and unable to put the book 📖 down waiting with baited breath to see what happens next ....😶 the sexual tension is like a balloon 🎈 waiting to pop it amazing 😊I love 💕 it 😍 High 🖐🏻 from me 🥰
I took a chance on this book because I was between reads as I am an avid reader and sometimes feel like I have read everything out there! Anyway, I have never heard of this author and was browsing my options when I came across this. Holy cow am I happy I did! This was an unexpected hit and I cried so hard at the end my kids thought I was crazy! It was so raw and real and human that I devoured it! I’m so excited for the next.
