What drew me to this book, aside from the author, was the cover. I mean, don’t judge a book and everything, but this cover is stunning. Coupled with the author who wrote it, and I wasn’t not reading it. It was an entertaining story. There are some word and conversational nuances with this author that drive me a little crazy, but they’re her style, and ultimately it’s my hang ups. The story doesn’t suffer for it. It was still entertaining, and I really enjoyed it. I feel liked we didn’t get a lot of time with some of the characters, though, and they didn’t feel incredibly flushed out, but it was book one. It also felt a bit short, but it felt like a good stopping place for the series. Yay, no cliffhanger! All in all, the author drew me in (again!), and I’m looking forward to book two.
