Riva is the firstborn Princess of the Atlantic. Her strange powers must be hidden at all costs and are a constant reminder of how different she is from her own people. An arranged marriage looms on the horizon. Struggling to come to grips with her new reality, Riva is left with no choice. She must escape. Her journey leads her to a faraway place filled with magic and peril. Tabula Rasa is a city where all are welcome. A chance encounter with a Shifter Fae leaves her reeling. Perhaps she isn’t so alone after all.
This series changes POV's and follows the Clutch Mistress Series.
I love love love the fact that the author included the characters from the original series clutch mistress. I love how it seems each book adds another person/group to the original clutch family. It was fun having a fae/mermaids hybrid in this book. Also the couple was unique, unexpected but quite wonderful. I learned from the Mel and Nat relationship fiasco, that no couple is set in stone and the author seems to make it so that you are happy if the couple you were rooting for does not work out. She does seem to know best!!! Again, great book and I am looking forward to the next book in this series. The author states that these books can be read standalone (but recommends reading the other books), yet I disagree. I feel that you would get lost in the characters and the background about each and the world building, if you did not start from the beginning at book 1 of clutch mistress.
I always wondered about the sea. I mean we saw what happens with the magical community then with the humans and their God at some point I was hoping for something about the sea. I love Riva and her adventures was amazing. I liked how she was related to Bed it seems like the stories are more centered around her which is both cool and frustrating. I'm glad that Skye finally found a mate because he is an amazing character. I'm to the next one.
This book was so good and I am glad we got to check in with the Clutch Mistress.Skye and Riva made such a cute couple. Not only is there things going on around the Clutch, all sorts of bad things are happening under the sea. This book will keep you on your toes.Read the Clutch Mistress first then read this ,you will have a better idea of what's going on.I can't wait to read the next book.
This book is a continuation of the clutch mistress series, which are some of my absolute favorite books so far I must say Janelle Peel has not let me down the way she paints the scenes with her words you see and feel everything she writes.
