The book according to me is a combination of Self Help and Motivational one which would help you realize what you are and what your real potential is. What I liked most about the book is the way author has put forth his points without using any complicated diagrams/charts etc but ensured that you could get all that you have been expecting/expected from this book.
Written in simple English, this book would make you to sit over, think/ponder on various things/events that you have come across/witnessed in your life. Each chapter begins with a quote from a famous personality which adds more value to the book.
Why would I recommend this book?
1. Simple Language which facilitates easy understanding
2. No jargons
3. Author was up to the point without beating around the bush
4. Separate headers for various troubles
5. 10 Pointers for each of the header/title which teaches you as to how to overcome it
6. You may be aware of most of them but somewhere in this journey of life, we all have forgotten or tend to take few things for granted and forget it
7. Motivational
8. I felt a real vibration of positivity/positive vibes around me after reading this
9. Author has given importance to common scenarios which would wreck the life, if not being handled with care
I would suggest that you pick any chapter in the book in any order of your liking and you will find good advice. Like it has been pointed out in this book by the author himself, not all of them would be applicable to all. Try implementing the simple things which has been highlighted on this book, in your life, to see how you can transform yourselves....
P.S. The book is more appropriate for Young Adults(Age 20-35)
It is one of the best self-help books I have ever read. Prior to this I read many books on life, career, time management and so on, but couldn’t derive important points to remember for all life time. This book suits mostly to young readers who often, due to bad decisions, get trapped in the bad and untoward things, sometimes for whole life. Segmented into 34 valuable chapters, this book is an easy read and important aspects about life come in a point format, which makes it a lovable book.
How to handle family members, friends, career transitions, property and religion, believe me all these aspects nowadays are much part of our bigger problems. I really have learned valuable lessons from these chapters. Hence, I am clear in my mind and now able to direct actions towards a purpose. This book casts a direct effect on seeker’s mind – this is what I thought. Give it a try if you are someone who constantly fights with the ambiguity between your heart and mind.
So, i won this one from good reads and i can honesty say his advice is like something my grandpa would sit me down and talk about with me. Great book and definitely great advice!
The genre that is my most favorite is self-help after auto-biographies. And whenever I get a chance to read any such book, I ensure that I get my hands upon them. But the latest one that I have read was in the format of e-book; the name of the book is “Life Know-How”. The book also has the tagline which says, “A Quick Guide with Straight to the Point Advice to Deal with Life Issues and Live an Empowered Life”. The book is just of 89 pages written by the author, Viswanatha Reddy Thalakola, and can be finished in just one sitting. I managed to complete in during my office traveling in Mumbai locals within 1.5 hours. This book is a perfect companion if you are traveling or sitting alone in your office without any work.
The author has written this book very intellectually with nicely editing the contents and being specific to the points that he wants to share with the readers to deal with certain issues that he has chosen to talk about in his debut work. The book consists of 34 chapters where each of them speaks about one unique issue divided into different categorizations such as “solving your problems”, “managing interpersonal relations”, “dealing with work”, “coping with negative things”, fulfilling your aspirations” and “handling other important matters”. I liked the various topics on which the author has spoken in this book. Under each chapter, there are many bulleted points which tells about the kind of research the author has gone through to have such refined solutions for each problem that we face in our day to day life.
This book is written as quick guide as referred in the tagline too but talking about the drawbacks, I missed the detailed solution for few points where author could have given real life examples or case studies too. Except this, there is nothing that I felt as missing in this book considering it as a quick guide that can be referred at any time. I rate this book 3.25* out of 5 and wish to see author writing a detailed self-help book too.
Life Know-How by Viswanatha Reddy Thalakola is of Thirty Four Chapters which tells about how to handle ourselves in various aspects of life. The author gives bits of advice about living life to the fullest. There are various things that the author discusses in this book.
He discussed topics like handling Depression, Criticism, coping up with negative things, goals and expectations and many more. From dealing at work to Solving the problems and fulfilling your aspirations, the author has described each and every situation crisply, in a wonderful way.
The piece of advice that he gives in each chapter adds value to one's life. Each chapter starts with a beautiful quote which motivates the reader. This book has positivity and helps the reader in dealing with various issues faced in day to day life. The message of never giving up on any situation, rather face it has been conveyed by the author.
The language used by the author is simple. The Writing style of the author is smooth and apt. One can easily relate to the book. However, the author could have added some personal experiences to make it better. The book was not that Interesting as it was all with pieces of advice. There could have been some more elements which would make it more engaging.
The cover of the book is beautiful. It's a Positive read, though could have been presented in a more beautiful way. Those who love reading Non-fiction, Go for it.
