Jennifer M. Eaton hails from the eastern shore of the North American Continent on planet Earth. Yes, regrettably, she is human, but please don’t hold that against her.

While not traipsing through the galaxy looking for specimens for her space moth collection, she lives with her wonderfully supportive husband and three energetic offspring. (And a poodle who runs the spaceport when she’s not around.)

During infrequent excursions to her home planet of Earth, Jennifer enjoys long hikes in the woods, bicycling, swimming, snorkeling, and snuggling up by the fire with a great book; but great adventures are always a short shuttle ride away.

Who knows where we’ll end up next?

I liked the idea and the concept but it just didn’t work for me....

I liked the idea and the concept but it just didn’t work for me....
This was a fascinating idea and concept but I didn’t like pacing on it ......... a bit too drawn out and tentative for me....
I liked John and Tracy and the idea of the Alien entities and hosts etc. and a serial killer, all those ideas were good but how that interacted w/a romance ?
Yeah, that didn’t work for me .....I feel like the entities in the romance felt like they were cross purposes at times.....
I skipped to the end after slogging 60% frustrated by the slowness or it all and the unknown games Tracy’s entity was playing....
When I got to the end and saw why “Adonna” ( Tracys entity) had done what she had, I understood but was unimpressed all the same...
Wonderful ideas and concepts but not for me....
I can recommend for the story but personally not the romance...

I'd like to say I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I'm normally not into alien books but this one is really unique and captivating.

I thought the characters were well thought out, they almost jumped off the page. The setting was clear, especially the setting at the end when everything comes to a head. There were some really intense scenes (sexual, rape mentions, murder). There was quite a bit of gore towards the end, so if these things are not your cup of tea, you may want to stay away.

The story situates around a detective, a car crash victim and two aliens who have a unique connection to both the main characters. I don't think I've ever seen this scenario done in another book and I really like the originality of the story.

I would have given the book 5 stars but for the ultimate reveal at the end. I'm trying not to give away spoilers, but it's difficult. I felt that the two aliens at the end would have logically conveyed their true intentions toward the beginning of the book. I can see why Jace said nothing, but Adonnna?? In retrospect, I would have expected her to be more honest instead of so elusive. It's why I have to give this book 4.5 stars. It's not exactly a plot hole, but I think Tracy would have picked up on it before all hell broke loose. Still, the writing is solid and totally different from anything Ms. Eaton has written before. I think she may have found her niche with this book.

When I first started to read this book, I wasn’t entirely sure how I would like it. I normally dabble in YA but I also love sci-fi and paranormal and I’m a huge fan of Jennifer Eaton’s writing so I wanted to try it out.

Jennifer Eaton has a way of sucking the reader in and creating this amazing setting and plot that makes the book impossible to set down. Her characters never fail to be so real that they’ll leave you with a rollercoaster of emotions. This book is no exception.

This book is great from the get-go. It starts right off with a mystery that is enthralling and pulls you in. The characters in this novel were written so well that they make you feel everything they’re feeling. John and his Ambient, Dak, are funny and sweet and the relationship between the characters will keep you turning the pages.

Jennifer Eaton takes an alien theme and puts a new spin on it — which is difficult to do with the saturation of the paranormal genre with alien invasion themed books. This book has plot twists that you won’t see coming, a suspense element to keep you guessing, and it’ll give you all the feels.

If you’re looking for an edgy paranormal with a suspense element that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat — this book is for you.

Fabulous. Keeps you gripped to find out what happened. Tracy supposedly died but how did she walk away from the accident. Impossible to not keep on reading. Loved it.

Detective John arrives on the scene to find the victim Traci has walked away. No one would believe this unless it happened to you. Gripping story and different from this author. Enjoyable.

NC-17 Sci-Fi Mystery With Horror Elements

“Invaded” is the perfect title for this book, which has an Amazon blurb that includes a trigger warning that readers should heed. “Intense scenes. Disturbing Images. Adult Content.”
You have been warned. This is a speculative fiction surprise that delivers what the premise promised and more. The author successfully melds several genres—police procedural, serial murders, science fiction, some romance, plus horror and suspense—into a very readable and IMHO, an original book.
This book has everything: re-animation of the dead, a strange alien species, a macabre serial killer, stomach-turning NC-17 murders, alien possession, smart but overworked detectives, four-persons in a romantic relationship, bankrupt local politics, a worldwide human-alien conspiracy, a mysterious federal acronym agency, and x-rated sexual situations. This is an adult content book with NSFW language and God’s name in vain.

Intense, thrilling and oh so suspenseful.
When the good guys are not even sure they are the good guys anymore. If you like being kept in the dark and not being sure who’s gonna still stand at the end, then you should definitely try this book. Carful because there are some sensitives passages that might shock the reader or make them uncomfortable. But for me it was just another good point of the book because it fitted the characters and arose questions of boundaries and morals that had to be discussed during the evolution of the story. Even if it might have been traumatic for some characters.
So, are you ready to meet a new kind of symbiont?

I enjoyed the author's idea and writing style but found the pacing slow in the middle and the ending less than satisfying as I had worked out who the killer was 75% of the way through the book and the events that led to the resolution seemed convenient.
I was also a little uncomfortable with an initial sex scene between Tracy and Sean (and their entities) - too much like non-consent/rape for me to accept (despite the way the plot eventually pans out and the reason for what happened is given).
Despite these issues I did thoroughly enjoy the author's style and the premise of the entities and would likely recommend it to a friend and read another book written by Ms Eaton.

The story plot sounded very interesting and straight forward but I thought it ended up crazy, twisty and outright entertaining. I thought it was a mix of thriller, mystery, suspense, and cop romance with a bit of paranormal rolled into an addicting story. It made me think and try to guess what was going to happen next. It was addicting from the first chapter and surprised and thrilled me. I really liked the basic story of aliens needing hosts to survive on Earth to be fun. And what Tracy ends up going through was wild and entertaining. I loved it.

Listened to the new audiobook on Scribd, it was excellent! I don't have time to sit and read anymore since I've returned to school so audiobooks are my go to. The story was very unique, I thought it would end differently so I was pleasantly surprised! I love scifi, and romance, so this book checked both of those boxes rather nicely without the romance taking over the story. I'll have to check out more of her books when I have time to actually read as I know this is her first audiobook.

Great storyline

This story stands, I think, in a category all its own. It’s a murder mystery, romance and alien suspense all in an urban setting. From first touches to kisses to blood puddles, there is the intense satisfaction of reading a superb novel that keeps you turning pages. It was a wonderful experience!

Very rapey once the second H comes into the story. I figured out how it was going to end at the 60% mark. I ended skipping all scenes with the 2nd H to keep my disgust under control.

The ending was completely dragged out and pissed me off to no end. It still angers me to try to figure out what the author was thinking.

Why 2 Stars instead of 1? The storyline was a bit unique and I did want to see the ending.

The Ambients invade the bodies of the dead and rapidly heal them. Living with the entity can be rough. John is a cop chasing a serial killer. John and his entity want Tracy. Tracy's entity wants Sean. Invaded kept my attention and I read it in one day.

This is my honest and unbias opinion of the story. I loved reading this story it has mystery and murder in it. The author is one of my favorites due to the fact she writes alot of different Genre but all makes the story come alive for me instead of just reading it I live it. i loved it.

It was ok at the start. But I found at the midpoint it was quite distasteful. And the end was just called in. I cannot find much to redeem this book. Sorry.

This book was not it for me. I reached 64% and I just couldn't take Tracy. I got tired of her drivel. John is a better human than me yes.

This was a good book but it was a thriller/ mystery / sci-fi and harlequin romance all in one. The reason for less stars is the romance part. Not my cup of tea.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Definitely did not expect some of the things that happened in this book, but I loved it anyway! I have loved every single Jennifer M. Eaton book that I have read so far, so I already knew it was going to be a five-star!

I went to the 40% mark. The book has murdered rape victims with the rape only mentioned. That was ok but when Tracy's Ambient, Adonna, starts to take over her body it gets too much for me. Tracy is basically locked in her mind while experienceing what Adonna is doing. It felt too much like sexual assault where Adonna was enjoying it while Tracy was being traumatized. That is why I quit reading. Wish I was warned of this before I offered to read the ARC. I have read other book with sexual assault but in this one the fact that Adonna was enjoying it while knowing Tracy was traumatized was too much for me.
