This textbook is used by high school AP and entry-level college students. This particular edition covers American History from the pre-Columbus era through the Biden administration. It is easy to read and very engaging for a textbook. Chapters are chronological and include primary and secondary resources for critical analysis activities. Each chapter also includes core objectives and a review of the objectives at the end. The text also includes numerous maps, pictures, drawings, artwork, and political cartoons to provide the reader/student with visual references.

One of the better textbooks I've used for college-level classes.

Distant past makes for a handy reference, but as the authors progress to more recent times, it becomes a biased lecture rather than history. I don't care much to be preached at when I'm not a member of the choir. The fact that this is passed off as education is not good, there's the distinct odor of indoctrination about it.
