You know when you read a book and you're just grinning the whole time? You don't want to set the book down. You're dying to find out what's going to happen and yet, you don't want it to end. And when you finally reach the end it's this feeling of pure happiness and you want to go back and keep hanging out with these characters and their story that made you feel so happy. Yeppers, that was totally and completely me with this book. *dreamy sigh*
I have been so busy the last several months, vacations and trying to adjust to several changes in life as well as summer and school starting. I've been going non-stop. Well, school started this week and a couple days before that I tweaked my back *painful sigh* that I've had a few days of just trying to breathe and not do much but rest my back so it'll be fully functioning soon. So what do you do when kids are gone all day and you're laid up? Well, psshhh, I read...a LOT! Ok, having my kids not be home and around me is really lonely and I miss them lots and having a hurt back stinks but I can't complain about all the great reads I've been able to devour. So trying to look at the silver linings here.
I'd just finished a book last night right before bed and was trying to decide what to read next and saw that this one was on my list for the next couple books. I couldn't help myself, I opened it up and started reading it right away! I couldn't help myself. I love, love, love Pine Valley and this author is a favorite of mine so you can see why I just couldn't resist. I read several chapters and then finished it this morning. Definitely a sweet, swoony read. All you book lovers who like stories about bookstores, book lovers and police officers, this one is for YOU!
Every time Officer Leo Russo showed up I had the little ditty of "Gee Officer Krupke" (West Side Story) going through my mind. Ha! I don't know why but maybe somebody else out there has or will have the same thing happen to them. Officer Leo Russo is NOT like Officer Krupke, just so we're clear. ;-) He's so gentle and kind. He is burdened by several different happenings in his life, family, work, breaking up with his girlfriend several months before. So when he finally meets Felicity, she is a breath of fresh air in his life and he can't help but be drawn to her.
Felicity has been used to being on her own for most of her life. Her parents are quite a bit older and so her life was pretty quiet, as well as the fact that she's been living away from them and alone for a year. She loves her job at the bookstore and the quaint town of Pine Valley is a perfect place for her to enjoy her quiet life...until a theft at the bookstore disrupts that quiet and peace. The theft also brings Office Leo into her life more fully and the blossoming friendship that develops between them is so sweet and tender. And the sparks...oh yeah, there might be fire from them.
Nothing is always perfect and peachy in life and this story is no exception. We see the struggles and heartaches but I love how Felicity and Leo let joy and happiness surround them. How they choose to laugh and love and embrace the struggles to help them become who they are.
Now I'm ready to go make me a big ol' cup of Stephens hot chocolate (my absolute favorite and I have some hazlenut flavor waiting for me in my cupboard)! If you're a hot chocolate lover, I definitely recommend having a cup ready to enjoy while reading this book because if you don't you'll be thinking about it the whole way throughout and not want to pause reading to go make it. Just saying! ;-)
Content: Clean. Some family issues but nothing graphic or overly sensitive. Kissing but nothing further.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
The cover of this book may seem unassuming, but it is chock full of memorable characters with quirky and likeable mannerisms and personalities! As much as I enjoyed the other books in the Pine Valley series, I do believe this one is my favorite. Bookstores, bikes, hot chocolate, and autumn! What I loved most about Leo and Felicity is how genuine they are. As themselves, and with each other. They accepted one another for who they are- quirks, flaws, and everything. The flirting and banter was cute without being cheesy or cliche, and so fun to read. Leo and Felicity both have things they are struggling with, and come from very different families. I think that helped them give each other a new perspective when supporting and encouraging through the other's issues. I really connected to their emotions and it brought depth to the story and made the romance one full of anticipation and delight. This is one that I plan to read again for sure! Highly recommend!

FINDING US is the fifth book in the Pine Valley series. I started this one morning, thinking I would read a few chapters and then do what needed to be done at home. Well, that didn’t happen and I was finished with this heart warming story in a few hours. It is crazy good and I could not put it down. I have only read two other books by Heather B Moore but I’m excited to find her previous books and devour them as I devoured this one.
Felicity and Leo both have broken hearts but are very caring and loving people. Felicity grew up with older parents who didn't really show her much love. Leo had a bad relationship with a fiancé who wasn't the one for him. Can they move on from things that have happened to them and find their happily ever after or will the fear hold them back? They both try to keep their relationship on a friends only level, but Leo is determined to take it to the next level.
As Leo realizes that Felicity is the perfect woman for him, he needs to come up with a plan to get Felicity to realize they should be together. But Felicity thinks she is all wrong for him. I mean, in her thinking, she’s just a regular type of woman, nothing special, that Leo, who is super good looking, wouldn’t look twice at. As she gets to know Leo, she sees just what a nice guy and big hearted person he is. Of course, Felicity is afraid that she just might be a good time fling for Leo, but she also realizes her feelings for him are growing.
FINDING US is a fun sweet and very clean small town romance. I’m so excited to continue this series and see who the next book is going to be about. I loved getting to know Felicity and Leo and it was fun to watch them circle around each other while trying to figure out how to get together. Heather B Moore held my heart in her hands from the very first page and never let it go. I loved how she made me want to pack my bags and go and find Pine Valley. I can’t wait to read more about this quaint small town.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given.
Setting--check. Great characters--check. Swoony romance--check. This book has all the makings of a sweet escape read.
First of all, Felicity loves books and so do I. Secondly, she's a little intimidated by Officer Leo Russo, who is a big, handsome, sweet cop, and right there, she became very realistic in my book.
Leo and Felicity had very different pasts and I love the way they merge their life experiences and personalities to forge a connection that will knock your socks off. The unexpected connection that zings between Leo and Felicity made me swoon throughout nearly the whole entire book. The romantic anticipation gave me butterflies.
The setting is perfect, too. I love autumn and all the talk of the cool air, hot chocolate, and jam has me ready to toss summer to the wind. Pine Valley has become a place near and dear to my heart and I love every day I get to spend in this place, even though it is just in my imagination.
Content: mild, swoony romance

2019--I listened to the audiobook and loved it as much as when I read it last year.
There was this awful rumor that Waiting for You (Pine Valley #4 was the last of the Pine Valley series, so when I found out there was another one I was beyond thrilled. The author is one of my all time favorites (all her genres) and I love the characters in this series.
Felicity works in a bookshop and loves hot chocolate so much that she drinks it everyday, even in the summer. She's been living in Pine Valley away from her family for the past year. She's content being by herself, which she attributes to being an only child and that her parents are older. When someone shoplifts a book she calls 911 and Officer Leo Russo shows up to handle the case. Leo is tall, dark, handsome, and Italian. (swoon) Leo's family is the opposite of Felicity's. He's from a big Italian family, and they live in Pine Valley. There were sparks right away between these two.
Felicity is a great character. She's been on her own for the past year, but doesn't really hesitate to call Leo when she hears weird noises in her backyard. She's also sweet and makes strawberry jam to thank Leo for coming over in the middle of the night.
Leo is so swoony. Dark hair, muscles, eyes the "color of hot chocolate with a sprinkle of cinnamon", plus he's super sweet and caring. He's got a lot going on in his life with work and his parents (his dad had a stroke), but he doesn't think twice about helping Felicity whether it's making her feel safer in her home, helping her pick out a dog, working on her car, or listening to her troubles. Who wouldn't fall in love with him?
Everything isn't all peaches and cream for these two, but they're there for each other. Leo helps Felicity see it's okay that their families are different. "I want to find us."
I loved the mug of hot chocolate on the cover, and the book made me want some so badly, but that's not happening in the summer in New Orleans. ☕ Although this is part of series each book can be read as a standalone.
I am enjoying this series so much. Every time a new book comes out, it makes me so happy. Each book can stand alone so no worries about reading them all in order, just jump right in and enjoy the ride.
Leo is swoony. I LOVED him. How could I not? He is a man's man, strong, protective but also kind. Felicity is quirky and I loved that she rode her bike everywhere. Of course her working in a bookshop was dreamy and I'm going to love her because she loves reading! Bonus. Oh, and she loves hot chocolate too! Dark chocolate and raspberry are my favorites.
One of the things I love about all these books and not just this one, is that they aren't overdone. The conflicts seem reasonable and I believe them. The characters are easy to relate to and the romances progress so naturally. It all just comes together so easily for me as a reader. I love that.
Content: clean romance, some kissing

Sweet! That sums up the book for me in one word. It was a book that I felt good reading. I loved the plot and the characters. I enjoyed that Heather B. Moore added the books and author name of another clean romance writer. (That was really sweet.)
Felicity works at a book store. She loves books. (I can relate.) She happens to be reading a book about a police officer when she is in need of the help of one. It was humorous as she tried to separate Leo from the main character of her book.
I read this book quickly. I loved Leo. He is a gentleman and knows how to help Felicity. He comes from a loving family and is able to help Felicity with her own family problems. There isn't anything about this book that I didn't like.

-‘Her gaze was steady when she said, “I want to find us.”’-
This was a great, sweet, clean romance. It took me a little while to get into it but then, once I did I couldn’t put it down. Great story and well worth the read.
This is how you write a sweet romance!! I can feel their chemistry and their doubts! I love it when the characters accidentally touch, how they get caught looking at each other, when they are easy to talk to each other, when they help each other out, when they call each other out, when they know what the weakness of the other person is and try to show them they are really strong, and a description of the way they feel when they kiss!! Everyone has little doubts about themselves. All found right in this book! This is my favorite of the series!
"And he wished Felicity could see her worth."
Felicity was raised by parents who weren’t affectionate at all! No hugs, no I love you’s, no cheering on that you are of worth, no I am here for you! They are older parents. So she always assumed they were just old and that’s the way it was. She was an only child. She also hasn’t had a relationship that lasted more than 6 days. She just can’t find the interest and something is missing. She feels that she will be okay on her own for the rest of her life. Poor girl!!
But when Officer Leo Russo comes into her bookstore after a theft in her store, she finds him attractive and easy to talk to, well after her shock wears off of a thief in the store. She kind of rambles at first. Then somehow it leads to him helping her find locks to put on her home, and getting a dog for her well being. The more time they spend together, the more she feels something for this man.
Leo hasn’t dated for a little while. His ex-fiance was not really great wife material anyway! He seems smitten by Felicity from square one! Leo has a large family. Leo cares deeply for them!
So Felicity and Leo come from very different ways of growing up. And that will be part of their problem. I love how Leo is patient and kind and when that moment is that most characters break things off because of whatever issue they have. Leo will accept it, albeit with a heavy heart, and try to be her friend while she tries to figure things out! I love how she figures things out!
If you are looking for books with police officers, bookstore employees, bike riding, large families, shocking news about your own family, romance, family with health issues, then this might be for you!
I was so excited to have another Pine Valley story. Felicity and Leo's story didn't disappoint! I loved the setting of the bookstore and small town, the season (who doesn't like sweater weather and mugs of hot chocolate), the books and reading—it was all perfect.
Felicity and Leo don't have much in common at first glance, but the chemistry between grows to friendship and something more. It was a treat to see how their relationship developed and to be there for the whole thing.
Though part of a series, it reads like a standalone.
Blurb: Felicity Miner is not normally an anxious person, and she’s been on her own since high school. But after a shoplifter steals from her bookshop, she calls the cops. When Officer Leo Russo shows up, Felicity has to tell herself that just because the romance novel she’s been reading has a hero police officer doesn’t mean she needs to project her imagination onto the real man. Yes, Officer Russo is unexpectedly generous, and he helps make Felicity’s home more secure when her worries won’t settle down. But the more Felicity is around Officer Russo, the more she imagines a future between them. Is he merely doing his duty, protecting and serving the citizens of Pine Valley, or is there potential for something more?
Pine Valley is such a great little town. I’ve loved reading each and every one of the books. Pine Valley seems like it’s a real place, because it’s not always perfect. And that’s the case in this one for Felicity.
Felicity works in the bookshop. That would be the perfect job if you ask me, reading all of the new books is my favorite! One day, during Felicity’s shift a young man came in and stole a book. Felicity can’t catch him before he escapes and that leaves her calling the police. What was really fun was that before Officer Russo showed up Felicity was reading a book with a police officer as the hero and she kept imagining him in the book!
I loved Felicity. She was willing to ask for help when she needed it. Calling Leo when she was worried about noises in the night or someone maybe breaking in. I think there’s a lot of people unwilling to ask for help, but sometimes we all just need it.
Leo was a great character too. He’s a great police officer. Unfortunately he’s got a lot of hard things going on in his life. His parents are having some health issues and they’re harboring his cousin, a young man who has been known to steal things. I liked that, even though he had a lot going on, he was always there for Felicity when she called. He even goes out of his way to fix things for her that she’d never ask for help with. He’s just a gentleman.
The love story in this one is sweet. The plot is fun and there were things that I didn’t see coming in the plot. I loved it! Another really great thing is that these Pine Valley books all stand on their own. Don’t worry about reading them in any specific order.
It is a truth universally acknowledge that avid readers love stories set in bookstores.
Felicity Miner runs the bookstore in Pine Valley. When Officer, Leo Russo responds to her call about a shoplifter, Felicity doesn’t realize how he will change her life.
I loved Leo and Felicity together! Felicity needed someone who saw her and her needs, and Leo was just observant and sweet enough to fill that void in her life. I loved his confidence/cockiness, and just watching these two learn to trust one another.
A sweet read. It makes me want to search out more books with police officer protagonists! I was loving Leo’s protective nature.
Content: clean (some kissing, talk of spousal abuse as Leo responds to a domestic call)
Felicity is an only child with parents who didn't show much affection as she was growing up. Her dating record with men is 6 days.
Leo Russo hasn't been interested in dating anyone since his big breakup with his almost-fiancee 6 months ago. Until he's called to the bookstore where a shoplifter has just stolen a book. There he meets the beautiful and quirky bookstore owner, Felicity.
Felicity is intimidated by his big, loud family and by all the girls who constantly hit on him. But Leo is kind and patient and is willing to be a friend while she figures it all out.
Despite the circumstances of their first meeting, bookstore employee Felicity Miner and Police Officer Leo Russo are quickly drawn to each other. A friendship (with the promise of much, much more) is almost instantaneous.
Felicity is a loner with no real relationship experience and only one close friend. Leo is from a large family, has friends all over Pine Valley, and hasn’t dated since he escaped the noose of proposing to the wrong woman. Yet, somehow these two find common ground and balance each other so well.
The interactions between Leo and Felicity range from slightly humorous to sweet to sigh-inducing (and Heather B. Moore adds a dog in this one—how can you not love that?). I appreciated the addition of the Felicity’s friend Livvy and the cameos from the Pine Valley residents from the other books in this series. My only wish with Finding Us was that the relationship between Felicity and her parents was explored a little more. There was potential for some serious unpacking in this one area.
Overall, another sweet and fun romance that is cohesive with the rest of the series.

Once again I find myself reading a Pine Valley novel out of order and yet enjoying it immensely. I have previously read the 3rd book in the series and now I jumped straight to the 5th;) As was the case with “Say You Love Me”, Finding Us can also be read as a stand alone and you won’t feel like missing something if you haven’t read the previous four books.
Finding Us follows Felicity Miner, a sales girl in the local bookshop at Pine Valley and Leo Russo, a Pine Valley police officer. The two meet when Felicity’s shop is being robbed and the responding officer is no other than Leo Russo- Pine Valley’s most eligible cop ;) The two immediately get along beautifully and as they bump into each other again and again they find that there might be more than friendship between them.
I loved the story in Finding Us! Both Leo and Felicity felt to me like well developed characters and both of them were very interesting to read from and about. I really enjoyed following their story and their budding romance and I wish I could have read more about them. Another point I loved reading about was the Russo family. Every time a book holds within itself a big and loving family I am more than sold on it, and you could definitely feel how the whole Russo gang were bonded with each other and loved each other. I always feel a little jealous of these tight knit families and wish I could be a part of it. So if you are like me, you too will end up wishing you could infiltrate Leo’s family ;)
Lastly, I would like to thank Kathy from “I am a Reader” for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book.
I greatly enjoyed this story! Felicity works at a book shop, what a life! During a bit of slow time, she begins reading a mystery romance. When a mysterious vagrant comes in for the second time, she greets him warmly and then is appalled as she watches him steal some of the books from the store. When officer Leo Russo comes to take Her statement she fears that the thief will retaliate against her for pressing charges. When she calls the police station to address this fear, Leo offers to help her check the security of her home, though he is keeping a secret about the thief. Felicity has a past that is kept a secret from her. When secrets come out, will these secrets affect their chances of getting to know one another? When asked for a favor, could two opposites build a connection between them? Buckle up for more than your average romance. I received an ARC copy of this audiobook, and I am leaving a voluntary review.
Romance, clean; series, but stand alone read This was a beautiful, heartfelt, lovely romantic read. Filled with the everyday things that draw two people together. Felicity, while not a 'strong' woman, was genuine, honest, heartfelt and trying to find her place in her world, her family and make a life for herself. Her struggles, and genuine kindness, concerns, and independence as she was making her way in her independence made her a great character for me. Leo, was a family man, but full of honor, integrity, honesty, and just attractiveness that comes from those actions, along with good looks. It isn't just good looks that makes a great male character, it is the person inside. His dedication and love for his family, the kindness he showed to others in his job, in his everyday life, made him more attractive in my reading of this. This really was a lovely fall for this couple, they complimented each other well, and a lovely read. Best in the series for me.
This is likely my favorite from this series. Felicity lives alone, has little money, and works hard. So, when a shoplifter takes off with a book, she's a bit traumatized to think that he might know where she lives. When Officer Leo arrives to report on the theft, he's attracted to Felicity and feels a sense of protectiveness about her. And, as additional opportunities arise to come to her aid, his sense of protectiveness grows to something more.
There's so much going for this book! Leo is a true book boyfriend. And, I loved how he helped Felicity when she learned some disturbing news. I also loved how Felicity's character developed through the story. At the beginning, she never dated longer than 6 days. Yet, she learned that it's ok to open herself up to love and return that love.
Romance - PG / Kissing Language - clean My rating - 5 stars
Felicity and Leo a stolen book from the book store, brought them together. She had been reading a romance book with a policeman in it and dreaming, and having to call about the stolen book, he came. I like the description he has of her. Yes, he is a cop and to look for details. A nice heart warming story.
Clean sweet romance. Not my favorite of the series but still loved how the characters interacted and love the town of Pine Valley! Definitely a place I would like to vacation to! Haha in my make-believe world. Novel reads as a stand-alone also. Highly recommend this author
Finding Us is book five from Heather B Moore’s Pine Valley series. I found Leo and Felicity’s story to be a fun one and they had great chemistry together. Such a sweet romance. I give Finding Us four stars. I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
When a shoplifter steals a book from the bookshop she works at, Felicity Miner calls the cops--and when Officer Leo Russo is sent to help, Felicity finds herself drawn to the handsome cop. Although Felicity is used to being on her own and she's never dated anyone for longer than six days, she starts to envision something more with Leo--but will her past allow her to reach for a better future?
This is a great clean romance--Leo is a sweetie and I loved seeing his patience with and kindness toward Felicity. Felicity was funny; I really liked her dry sense of humor. I've enjoyed all of the Pine Valley stories (which can be read in any order), and this was no exception. Great choice for when you need a quick escape.
I read a copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Very enjoyable read!! I am a book nerd so I totally identified with Felicity. Leo's character was amazing!! This is my first book by this author, but I will be reading more by her. The plot moved at a good pace and I loved all the swoon worthy moments. Overall a very good book.
I am usually a historical fiction only type of reader. I can not remember the last time I read a contemporary novel. If every contemporary novel were as enjoyable as Finding Us, I would have been reading all of them I could. This is the first of the Pine Valley novels I’ve read, and I am very happy to have started with this one. This was truly a lovely reading experience. Our main characters are Leo and Felicity, a police officer and a book shop clerk. They’re brought together by unlikely chance, and a happy ending blossoms from there. I loved the warmth and heart portrayed by all of the characters in this book, not only the central characters. It was filled with sympathy and empathy; true family troubles and connections. The conflict in this book felt genuine, and not like drama for the sake of drama (a peeve of mine). The thing I found most uplifting about this book is the message that no one is broken beyond repair. We all have our trouble and baggage and you have to learn to let go of your uncertainty and give others a chance to know and love you. If you enjoy a clean love story with a happy ending, look no further than this book!!
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I really enjoyed this story! I didn’t want to put it down. A few mentions of characters from the previous books in the series but still possible to read as a stand-alone. I realised once I started reading this one that I’ve managed to skip one of the books in the series, so now I’m eager to go find it & read it! These books are all clean & feel good stories. In each book the characters have to deal with personal issues, family issues & insecurities - all relatable I think & not in an overdone way... although some of the ditzier characters/interactions I would hope are overdone & not drawn from real life interactions 🙈 makes the story interesting though haha
I think the main focus I got from these stories is that life has challenges which can at times make us feel overwhelmed but we don’t have to let them stop us from loving or moving forward. That friendship & the family that we make for ourselves are important & should never be taken for granted.
As I said these are clean, feel good stories. In this particular book I love the interactions between the hero & heroine, both the serious & the fun banter. She is so quirky & loving despite her independent streak & even though he exudes the tough guy persona, he is not afraid to show his vulnerabilities & his love for his family.
I loved Leo and Felicity! This book captivated me right from the start and I couldn't put it down. It's the first of the Pine Valley series that I read, but I didn't feel that I have to catch up. Actually this is the first full length novel by Heather Moore that I read - Why did I wait so long?! I'll be checking out the rest of the series, because I liked immensely the vibe of the little town. Felicity was cute and down to earth. She doesn't think much of herself and can't believe the charming cop Leo is interested in her. In the past Leo was in a long relationship with a woman who only demanded and took from him. He hasn't dated for some time, but now he is instantly drawn to Felicity's unassuming manner, naturalness and kind heart. Their charming romance had me grinning and even shedding few tears. I loved it! Can't wait to read the rest of the series. Sensuality: clean with some kissing and making out Narrative: 3rd person, following Felicity and Leo Religion: none
