Theo Lancaster isn't just the world's best surgeon. He's also a night-stalking monster, a creature of darkness. At least, some of the time. Thanks to his best nurse, Theo has had an ace in the hole for several years now. That is, until she threatens to leave. Only then does he realize she's much more than just another coworker, and the only human his heart could want.

Ada has had the hots for Dr. Lancaster for a very long time. And who wouldn't, with his perfect body, striking features and incredible talents? Maybe some people, given his arrogant, aloof personality that pushes everyone away. Which is why she's leaving before heartache gets the best of her. But to her surprise, Theo seems to have other plans in store.

What starts as a desperate bid to keep his best nurse at his side quickly becomes much more for Theo and Ada as repressed feelings held back for years come rushing out between them, igniting sparks inside the bedroom and out.  But foul forces hidden away from humanity are about to break free, offering answers to the Lancasters' questions about their existence, and endangering everything Theo has ever held dear.

Starlight is the third book in the Nightmare Dragons series. These books contain intense themes, mystery and sexy, tortured shifter heroes who do more than go bump in the night.

MY BOOKS WILL NEVER CONTAIN: Cheating, unfaithful heroes, or an ending that is anything but happy.

Dr. Theo Lancaster has terrible bedside manner skills, yet his brilliant surgical skills make him one of the most sought after surgeons around. Luckily Theo's behavior is tempered by his scrub nurse right hand support Ada. She is the sole reason he's been able to tolerate humans to any degree.

Ada needs to let Dr. Lancaster know that she's submitted her two week notice and plans to move on elsewhere. Yes, his skills are off the chart spectacular and his droolicious looks are nothing to sneeze about, but there comes a time when even Ada has had enough and that time is now.

Finding out Ada is leaving does something to Theo as, if she leaves, he feels he'll lose the remainder of his humanity and hold on sanity. More than that, Ada is the one person he has feelings for so leaving is not an option.

What starts out as a strategic game to convince Ada to stay soon turns into something more as the two act on all the repressed feelings they've been holding back on.

This is the climatic ending of the series that finally addresses the Lancaster's past, present, and possible future.

* * * *

Personally, this was the better installment in the series. It's the tall, dark, and stoic characters who fall the best in my mind. That the character is a physician, even better. :)

Each installment in this series has brought to mind a fairy tale analogy. This one is a sort of "Ugly Duckling" one. Do want to make sure that this analogy is only in concept as the actual story has darker themes with a heavy mix of adult content erotica. lol

The one primary issue I have is the lack of depth and follow through that continues to bother me. For example. If a large large amount of money (seriously who even thinks the US monetary system includes $1,000 bills) is thrown up in the air, where does it go and who gets it? I need to have even the superficial items of interest addressed, especially if the premise is that a character is not out for money and won't accept any bribes.

An ok read that paranormal dragon shapeshifter fans might want to check out. One of the positives is that this installment does end the series which I am grateful for as I have the complete story from beginning to end.

Wow wow wow!

Starlight is the final book in the Nightmare dragons series but we have repeat characters from previous books as well which always makes it intriguing to find out more:) Theo is a well known surgeon but he’s also known for being a cold and calculating person. Ada is his scrub nurse and when they go into surgery together, he feels something is off. When confronted Ada admits she is leaving the hospital and Theo does not take this news well!

Loved the surprises that came in this book but also a return of an old villain and more intrigue as to what’s going to happen next in the shifter 🌍! Thank you Terry for my advanced copy for which I leave my willing and honest review:) Can’t wait for more......just 😲

Finding Love Right Under His Nose

Theo and Ada are co-workers, spending days and sometimes also nights working side by side. They both need to conquer their fears to come to accept each other and their love into their lives.
Also we see more fascinating aspects about the nature and origins of the nightmare dragon brothers.
The brothers also have to face their evil enemy face to face and defeat them. They finally find acceptance and their place in the world with their unique powers.
A sexy, funny, warm read. Heartily recommended.

This book was an excellent addition to the series. I have read the other books and loved them also. You don't have to read them in order but it will make the story flow better because you will know more of the back story from the other books.

Theo is the only one of the three nightmare dragons that hasn't found his human mate and claimed her. He feels it is best for him to remain aloof from the humans since he is a surgeon and needs this separation to do his best work. Besides, what human woman would want a monster like him? When his favorite scrub nurse tells him that she is leaving the hospital and the city for another job, he is surprised by how much this news affects him. He has always known that Ada was the only reason he could hold off his change when he needed to operate on an emergency case after midnight. He also knows she is an excellent buffer between him and his patients and their families. He isn't really a people person and has a hard time relating to human fears and feelings. He decides that he must do something to make her change her mind and stay.

Ada has loved Theo for a long time. His hands-off aura has kept her making her feelings known and now she realizes she must let this dream go. The only way to do that is to leave his employment and move to another city and hospital. She is not surprised when he takes the news badly, she is surprised when it seems he has started a campaign to win her heart. She knows he is only trying to get her to change her mind, he doesn't really have feelings for her.

Find out what happens as Theo tries to win his mate, sure after a while that though he loves her she doesn't love him and would never accept his ugly, nightmare side. When the unfathomable happens, he must save her from the evil of his past and convince her of his love.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

We’ve met Nathan and Dare, now Theo gets his story told… and perhaps his is the saddest of the brothers for he has had at his side for the past five years the one human who settles him, keeps him from transforming… his mate. But Theo doesn’t believe in mates, in love, or especially in the craziness his brothers have gotten themselves into with their so called “mates”. It’s madness, and he wants no part of it. Trouble is, he says that but when the one person who has been helping him to remain somewhat sane decides that she’s done living on a dream that will never come true and plans to move away… well, to say Theo doesn’t take that well would be an understatement. Now he has to figure out how to change her mind without giving away his secrets.

Ada has been what Sasha is to Dare and Lillian is for Nathan – the human who holds their heart, who centers, calms them and most importantly halts their transformation after midnight into the nightmare creatures they were created to be. But that is unknown to Ada, all she knows is that she’s been in love with Theo, the brilliant, arrogant doctor she’s worked beside for the past five years. And now it’s time to go, she’ll never find happiness with a man who will never see her as more than an extension of his own abilities, the perfect nurse when she could be the perfect partner if he’d only open his eyes. But he won’t so it’s time to move on. She knew he’d be upset, but she never expected him to begin to show true affection, that he honestly needed her. Could she trust in his words, his actions? She wants to… but she doesn’t know the entire truth, and until she does, until he shares all of himself with her Ada still believes it’s best for her to move on.

Starlight delivered everything I need in the conclusion story to any series… and So. Much. More.

I want to talk about this story. I want to shout details to the sky and ask what you thought of this, that or that other thing… but I can’t, because saying anything more falls into spoilers, and I won’t do that to any future reader. The intensity of Starlight is higher, the stakes are more personal, and the depth of this story takes my breath away. I loved the deeper, darker, more intense story line of the Nightmare Dragons series. I actually had hoped for more than the three stories… yet, I’ve no doubt but that we will see Nathan, Dare, and Theo at some point in the future. You’ll understand why when you experience this book for yourself. I loved seeing old friends again, seeing an old enemy get their due was sweet karma, and in truth I would have love more… but this was enough. It satisfies, it completes the circle begun in Midnight. If you’re looking for an intense, intricate, steamy, completely absorbing series to pick up then you need Midnight, Nightfall, Starlight all making up the Nightmare Dragons series. Experience this, you won’t regret it. Thank you Ms. Bolryder, this was quite an amazing ride. Loved every single minute of it, and would highly recommend the entire series.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

This is a good addition to this series, and a good romance. Theo and his brothers are interesting shifters, in that they were created, and consider themselves to be monsters. They all have quite a complex about that, but think they have no choice but to be what they were created to be -- even if they are "Nightmare Dragons". I actually liked that Theo and his brothers used their power to help rid the earth of evil, and didn't stop even when they realized their creator was never coming back for them.

I liked Ada, but Theo was a bit hard to like at first. He was just so cold and aloof to everyone, even Ada -- even though he knew that he needed her to keep him from transforming into his nightmare dragon. He wouldn't let himself get really friendly with any "human" -- even though he was attracted to Ada. He got a lot better as the book went on, though.

This series is a little different from Terry's other shifter series, in that there is more angst. Theo and his brothers are tortured by what they are, since they think they are monsters. Theo is angry at his creator, since she created "monsters" and then abandoned them -- he wants revenge more than anything. Most shifter stories have shifters that are happy with their animals, so this series is unusual.

I won't give spoilers, but I did like the way this book ended the series.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Great Plot

Theo and Ada's story was even more enjoyable then the other two, because they both worked in the same field. He as a renowned surgeon and she his surgical nurse. Theo keeps to himself no matter what. He is extremely handsome. Women and men have tried to pursue him, but he wants none of it. He has a very difficult character.

Ada has been falling in love with Theo for the last five years, but she knows she needs to move on...It is time. He will never see her as more then she currently is....His nurse. Therefore, she has already given her two week notice and now needs to tell him. He does not take it well at all.

Theo is shocked that Ada has decided to move somewhere else and work at a completely different hospital. He does not want her to go. He only has a couple of weeks to convince her to stay, that he needs her in all aspects of his life. Though, he still needs to keep his darkness hidden from her. For, he knows she could never accept the monster in him. And Evil is once again lurking.

I enjoyed that not only are his two brothers and their mates in this story, but also some of the other characters from previous series; Lead, Luc, Marina, the good Oracle. I couldn't give it five stars because it was determined their dragons had to have been created from the gemstone dragons dna, but none of the gemstone dragons were brought in at the end to wrap it all together for me. Aegis and one other dragon was barely mentioned. For me there needed to be a bond starting to form between the Nightmare Dragons and the Gemstone dragons. Also, Mercury should have been there when the three of them finally transformed. To now, give his opinion it they were still ugly in their new mates transformations. Plus, after reading all three stories...I wanted to witness the birth of their child and this was not added to the epilogue. I at least would have enjoyed it.

Dr. Wonderful learns he isn't the world all by himself. Ada, his surgical nurse, helps him control his monster within. For years they have worked together with him totally unaware of her feelings. Now, she's leaving. He can't allow that.

The fun they have while he tries to change her mind is fun and steamy. Even dangerous. She's determined to leave since she can't resist him and her love is unrequited. She can't believe he has suddenly realized he has feelings for her. Will he be able to convince her to stay?

The "monsters" have all found good in humans and mates. Will they get the answers they have searched a hundred years to find? I can't tell you how, but since we know this author always gives us an HEA, you'll enjoy the end of the book and the beginning of their future. This was a unique series of unforgettable characters whose journey forces them to find the darkness in the world and destroy it to let the light of goodness inside. Theo had just enough of the Miracle Doctor arrogance, Ada enough of the nurse that sees beyond that persona and realize they are really just people like the rest of us. The answer to their origin and awakening into a world less lonely is a fun yet emotional ride. Thank you, Terry Bolryder. Again you have given us a winning book and series.

Starlight is book 3 of Terry Bolryder’s Nightmare Dragons series. This is a great addition and finale to this series.

Theo Lancaster, is a world renown surgeon, but at night he is a night-stalking monster who works to stop others from being hurt. Ada, has been Theo’s surgical assistant for 5 years and is hopelessly in love with him. To prevent further heartache, Ada decides to leave in hopes of starting over somewhere else. But to her surprise, Theo steps up and works to win Ada over.

But suddenly, Theo’s fears and his past collide with his present and Ada is caught in the middle. Can Ada accept all that Theo is? Can he save her? Or will Theo be destined to be alone in the darkness forever?

I loved reading Starlight, it was a great love story filled with both joy and angst. The past and future collide and the history of the nightmares are finally revealed. Terry Bolryder did a fantastic job linking and making reference to several of the dragons from her previous series’. I hope we get to see more of them in her next book.

I can’t wait to find out what her next series will be about.

Theo is the third of the nightmare dragons. Theo is also the most stubborn, mean and arrogant of the trio as far as I'm concerned. Even though Theo is my least favorite, I had to read his story to see how the series ended. I am not at all disappointed with this one, but Theo is still my least favorite of the nightmare dragon trio. I liked this mostly because of the differences in the characters. Theo is still a shifter, but he only changes into his form after midnight. I also like the concept of why they change. His form is referred to as "nightmare", so it's something new by itself, which I like and in this final book we find out what the evil Oracle combined to make Nate, Dare, and Theo.
The only thing I really didn't care for was how things were left with Topaz. Does he live? Is he dead? Did he get away? Was he captured again? So I'm wondering if he will get a story next.
This book is for adult readers to to sexual content.

This doctor needs surgery for love!

I know the headline is cheesy but I just couldn’t help it. Theo is a nationwide renowned surgeon that takes every opportunity to make more black marks instead of red in his ledger. The third of the three Nightmare Dragon brothers, Theo is determined to not let himself become as reckless as his brothers and fall in love with a human. He believes he knows better and his brothers are now hopeless to believe that their human mates keep away the Nightmare inside.

That is until his assistant tells me that she is leaving in two weeks away from him. He goes crazy inside and feels like his world is crumbling around him. He can’t let her leave, he can’t do his work without her, he needs to make her stay. So then Theo gets a plan to try to woo her to stay with him and in the process Theo does the one thing he never wanted to happen... he falls in love with a human..

Superb ending to this series!

This is a great series. Theo and his brothers were made in a lab, and then tossed away as children. How they handle their differences from humans makes them who they are now. There is some darkness here, but there is in life, too. It is part of what makes this series great. The pace is fast, the tone is confused yet hopeful, the storyline is character oriented with some action and some steamy scenes, and the characters are vivid and endearing. I love how all 3 of them learn about how to love and let people in.

Read these books in order, if you want to get the full story. Double Dragons and Tiger Protectors come first, but are not necessary to this overarching storyline. Awakened Dragons are next, followed by Rent-a-Dragon, Date-a-Dragon, Awakened Sea Dragons, Dragon Guards of Drakkaris and finally this series. I can't wait to see what happens next in this world! Keep it up, Terry Bolryder! I love it. Enjoy!

Love wins over darkness every time

In my opinion, Theo was a little bit like each of his brothers. He cared about humans(like Nathan) and would accomplish impossible surgeries impeccably. But he really didn't want to be around humans at any other time(like Dare). The only person he ever really conversed with was Ada, his surgery nurse.
Ada has worked for him for five years and has loved him almost as long. But since he doesn't return her feeling she decides to quit her job and move to start over anew. When Theo finds out she is leaving he realizes that he has feelings for her.
This story not only shows the relationship between Theo and Ada but gives the reader an explanation about who the nightmare dragons really are. I loved the twist with the Oracle and Topaz(gem dragon).
I enjoyed the change by this author of writing a series that was a bit darker. I am excited to see where she takes us next!

Theo was a successful surgeon, and a nightmare creature. He swore to keep that a secret.

Ada was a surgical nurse for Dr Theo Lancaster. She was in lust of him for many years. She couldn't take it any more, moving was the only way to get away. Telling the stubborn, cold Dr was going to be intense. She had worked with him for 5 years, right out of nursing school. She knew he was protective of her it something of someone was bothering her, but they were friends, co-workers. Giving him the news had to happen.
Theo didn't know what he was to do, Ada was leaving. He didn't understand why, be felt better when she was near. He didn't seem go transform go his monster as often go hunt and feed of darkness. He had go fix this! How? He just had to step up. But staying away from human emotion is what he had done for well over a hundred years. Could changing help know? He really liked her. Would miss her terribly, even. Fixing this situation was his new mission.

So many questions finally answered!! Theo, a world renown surgeon, is hiding a dark secret and not until he thinks he is going to lose the one person who keeps him steady does he go out on a limb to open himself up to a human. Ada, Theo's stub nurse, has decided to make a clean cut and start a new life, where she no longer attaches her heart to a man who seems so cold an distant. She never thought how much things would change when she gave her two week notice.
This was a great book! I loved Theo's arrogance when he knew something for sure and his insecurities when he felt like he was out of his comfort zone. Ada was sweet and trusting of the man she knew for 5 years. There were so many questions and mysteries from previous books that were finally answered. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves dragons, and all of Terry Bolryder's dragons are well worth the read.

Theo and Ada

The final story in the Nightmare Dragon's series, Theo and Ada's romance. Theo is a world renowned surgeon and Ada is his scrub nurse. She loves him but feels she can't have him because he is so private and standoffish. When she resigns and is moving away he realizes he loves her. He starts dating her and after a couple of weeks she realizes that one perfect night without precautions she's pregnant. He freaks and leaves her to get advice from his brothers. At that time the creator, Irial, the evil Oracle shows how at her Dr and kidnaps her to take the baby. Theo gets a hurried Vball from Ada and he and his brothers hunt them down and kill the evil Oracle. The good Oracle comes to them blessed them and recruits them. Later Theo and Ada are at their new home making another baby, they want twins. Great shifter series with a twist.

A fantastic series finale!
When Ada decides she doesn’t want wait around anymore for Theo to make a move, he panics! He steps up and starts courting her. Some of his tactics are overdone; some, disappointingly, don’t go quite far enough. It’s a lovely thing to see it evolve. I don’t know if you can call it insta-love when they’ve had a 5-year working relationship, but when Theo turns up the heat, it quickly becomes a conflagration! Wow!
All three of these Nightmare Dragons are magnificent, but I think maybe Theo edged past his brothers into a solid lead! There’s a wonderfully picturesque scene with the Nightmare Dragons’ darkest side. So many revelations - a very exciting conclusion to the series!

Starlight book 3 in the Nightmare Dragons set by Terry Bolryder is a 5 star read.
Theo is the oldest brother of the 3 Nightmare dragon’s and thinks his brothers are asking for trouble having human mates, but when the nurse who settles Theo hands in her notice to quit, Theo suddenly sees her in a different light and goes out of his way to make her stay.
Ada has worked with surgeon Theo Lancaster for 5 years and in that time she fell in love with him and knew he could never love her back so she decides to quit and move on with her life, but Theo refuses to let go.
We see where the brothers came from in this book. I really enjoyed this book it was good to see some familiar faces too.

Love me Tender

Theo and Ada knew each other for years, working together to save lives, but do co-workers really know each other? Ada knew she loved Theo. Theo was so smart that he was dumb. Always in denial and always keeping people at arms length, Theo had a lot to learn about himself and love.

Bolryder has created an amazing series about family, love and trust. All three brothers had to learn to love so they could finally discover the truth about their lives. There are lots of new discoveries, but one I am looking forward to is finding out what happens to Topaz. Is this the next book? I hope so. I am so addicted to Bolryder's dragons, please give us more.

I recommend reading this series. You will not be disappointed.

Wow so exciting story - it is true strong, silent type fall the hardest! Shifter, magic & romance with an interesting plot.

Theo is the sought after surgeon for making miracles happen. He saves lives but keeps his distance from others in order to keep his secrets. Nurse Ada has worked with Theo for five years. In the five years he is arrogant, doesn't communicate well with patients (shows his distance has affected his social/her side manner - it's the worse) lol. Through it all she has fallen for him and needs to get away before she shatters...Theo has other ideas. Not only romance, good vs. Evil, brother's/family, mates and betrayal all mingled into this plot. Violence 2 sex2

Awesome series and hot/loving read

It's a toss up of which book I like more Nightfall or this one! While this book had more romance and hijinks Nf had more humor! Theo has a lot to learn/realize in a short time, especially when the unexpected happens! Ada is very sure of herself and not like the typical whiny self doubting romance females (although she does have a brief justified moment!). We see the most characters from previous series in this book and it's nice to get a reference of time elapsed. Someone does something stupid mid way through, but I guess it needed to be done to have the story unfold/wrap up the way it does! While it's the end of the series, it doesn't feel like the end of their story and hopefully we will get more books to come!

All I can say is OMG... This book/series was wonderful it had me at the edge of my seat... Theo and his brothers were abandoned 100 years ago... Told to stay away from shifters and humans...
Now this series asks the question of corporal punishment as in the death penalty.... As you come to find out with the three books in this series some humans just won't learn and nothing but the death penalty or what the three Brothers do, would be any other justice...
I recommend you star reading the "Dragon" books from the beginning... This is the last series in a long line of series about Dragons... Take time a read them in order... Each book has it's own HEA.. but previous couples are included in the books...

Brilliant

A great finale to this series this author never disappoints. Theo the final brother is the most uptight and controlled of all three he has had his mate by his side for five years without realising it. He is a brilliant surgeon who with his shifter gifts can save those that others give up on Ada is his trusted nurse who he has kept at a distance not realising that her presence has kept him controlled. Things come to a head when she decided to leave no longer able to keep her feelings for him locked up this sets off a chain of events that could not be foreseen but love comes blinding through in the end. The brothers finally meet their creator and discover she is pure evil and destroy her. This is a riveting read full of unexpected events.

AWESOME!!!!

Loved it!!!can't day enough how I love your stories Terry and oh so looking forward for more to come. Theo had it real bad as I expected, but to have his maker show you and tried to take his mate and informed baby..big mistake and they set out to do what they wanted to do for so long, and end their maker the wicked oracle. No one is more happy then the oracle who helped all the other dragons, that the evil Oracle is now a thing off the past. Now Theo, Nathan and Dare are now closer then ever and found the side of them that matters their inner Dragon...love it big fan Winzie19💞.

This was really nice. Cliche but you got to admit that we never saw that coming . He was the one who fell first and the the one to save his brothers and the future of their kind. They maybe abomination, but their hearts are alot more pure than humans. In a way, humans are complex creatures. And yet the darkness within us can sometimes consume our life.

This series is a good way of reminding us that each has their own dark part in our hearts, however, being consumed, used by it will lead to pain. We create our own happiness, we craved our own future. The past has a way of popping up, but you have to face it. If not...

Looking forward to more books from this author.

Starlight

Theo is a great surgeon and he can see the future. He has had Ads working with him for five years. One day he sensed that ad a wasn't happy so when he asked her what's wrong she tells him she put in her two week notice, she trying to move on. What ada doesn't tell him is that she has lived him and it hurts knowing he might not feel the same. Can Theo show Ada that he wants her in the two weeks he has? Can he truly show her what he is without her being scared of him? Great read. Want more.

Theo and Ada’s story was my favorite out of the three books. The ending was perfect and I really hope we might see one more book and find out how they are all doing in the future.
If your looking for a captivating series of sexy dragons, hot romance with a little bit of action mixed in...Nightmare Dragons is a must read. 😍😍

I’m a huge fan of dragon shifter romance books but very picky about how the dragon shifters are portrayed. These dragons are unique and sexy and very different from a lot of the other books I’ve read.

Starlight

T.Border has just completed another great series. Wonder what the next one will be about. Any series or standalone book by Ms Bolryder will be interesting, if it's a series, you'll find that each one will flow with the others without any hesitation. She makes reading an absolute pleasure. Those who read her books or series can hardly wait for the next ones. You'll be missing a great author if you don't take the time to at least read one of the books. I'm never disappointed in any of her books. You won't be either.

Just blah . Spoiler alert

This just didn’t pull me in. Don’t get all the 5 star reviews. It was just average at best. Writing and editing were good, which is why I gave it two stars. When you read fantasy or paranormal you suspend a lot of beliefs and just kinda go with the flow and imagination of the author. ******Spoiler****** but come on she knows she preggers after a week and like 2 or 3 days. Lost me right there. Technically, I was half way out the door at virgin alpha male. Nope that doesn’t do it for me.
