MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I liked this book, just not as much as I would have liked to. The first half of this book was great and I was enjoying it just as much as the first one. The second half however, I did not really enjoy. You know that feeling when the couple breaks up in a book and you are just aching for them to get back together? That was what the entire second half of this book felt like. It took a lot of my enjoyment away from the story.

Kendall- While I love her as a character, she frustrated me a few times during this book. She jumped to conclusions on things and she made a bunch of what I would consider stupid decisions. She knew she had someone stalking her and yet, she didn't stop to question if doors randomly shutting, lights turning off, or items being moved, meant that someone was in her house? She kept making references in her head to the stupid girl that always dies in a horror movie, yet she was acting like that more often than not during this book.

Teagan- I'm not gonna lie, I still am a little pissed with him after this book. I know he didn't actually kiss that girl back, but letting her do so and not stopping her immediately is almost just as bad in my mind. Given, he made a lot of strides towards the end of the book to make up for it, but I still don't think he should be forgiven right off the bat. There is no excuse for him letting that happen.

Lucas- I still absolutely love Lucas. He is just so precious and he tries his hardest to make Kendall happy. He was always there for Kendall during this book and I really think their relationship wouldn't survive without him there to calm things down.

Goose- I am still a little mad at Goose as well. Though, I am not as mad at him as I was at Teagan. Goose went through some things during this book and I don't believe that he will act that way again. In the part we got from his point of view, I saw how much guilt he felt and I couldn't help but let that go a long ways to making me forgive him.

Maverick- I love Maverick, but I wish that he would have put his foot down when the giant argument happened between Goose, Teagan, and Kendall. He should have spoken up and I don't see how he can be so vocal about his opinion sometimes, yet when it counted, he was silent. I am not mad at him though because after the part in his point of view, I see why he remained silent. That doesn't mean I think it was the best thing however.

Derrik- When Derrik made his reappearance, I think I stopped breathing for a second. I was shocked that he showed up and I was certain that he was there to cause trouble. Instead, he apologized which surprised me. Honestly, I thought that his apology was subpar at best and it really meant nothing to me. I have personally been bullied (not to the extent that Kendall was) and I can honestly say that it leaves a mark on you and no amount of words can erase what that person did. Derrik's character was not redeemed in my eyes in any way and I hope he doesn't reappear again.

What I Liked- I liked that this series was continued and we got to see more of Kendall and her guys' relationship. In reality, the story doesn't stop when the book is over and it was nice to see what happened after the end of the last book. It made this book a lot more realistic and, even though I hated it, watching Kendall and her group struggle through everyday life was refreshing and it made me feel for these characters more.

What I Didn't Like- My thoughts above should make what I disliked very clear. I had a lot of problems with this book and I just didn't enjoy a large portion of it.

Favorite Quote- I thought I would end this review on a positive note after all that negativity above:
"You know that one moment when you’re watching figure skaters on ice, and the male partner throws the girl into the air, and everyone holds their breath waiting for her to fall? That’s what kissing Goose is like. Living in that one moment of wonder, hoping that there will always be another."

I absolutely love this quote and it made me fall in love with Goose a little more.

Side Note- When I got to the back of the book, I realized that another RH story was referenced in this book. I love when an author advertises other books in their genre and I am really proud of Brandy Slaven for doing that for two books in a row now.

Overall, I still really like this series. I will be reading the next book when it is released (hopefully soon). I hope I enjoy it more than I did this one though.

OMG i fucking loved this book! It was even better than the first book!
But damn it gave me heartattacks, heartaches. I laughed cried swooned got jealous angry annoyed confused and a lot more feelings that can't be described. Holy hell what a rollercoaster, my heart broke for Kendall after Gant aka Goose got on a bad road(after he got messed up after his father, ya know what i mean) i felt so much how she felt and when everything went down i fucking cried. And when Teagan got kissed and didn't react/push the girl away i got pissed for Kendall. I wonder who that was🤔🤔🤔 Pixie girl...

It was some hard couple of chapters when all went down fast, i felt also for the guys ofc but it's a different feeling when u aint in their head and don't know what they think or see. Oh my god Lucas my man i fucking loved that he stood at Kendalls side when it was real bad and didn't hide or stop fight for them. Even tho i understand why Mav did cuz of his past. But it still hurt when he didn't defend Kendall when they was fighting...😭😭 (you get to know why later on)

This was not sunshine and unicorns, and i love that. It's always those dark books that get me going.
Brilliant fucking cock sucking balls book! I can't wait until we get the next book!!😍😍

I paid $2.99 for this one and unlike book 1, I do regret spending money on this one.
Unnecessary swearing by the heroine distracted me from the story.

Not much of a plot except for the ‘ghost’.

A lot of sex. I wish it had more of plot. A bit boring. Nothing authentic was happening.

Manufactured drama with the sorority girls from the party and Teagan. Then there is the thing with Goose. The angst felt forced. I love drama, but it has to feel real.

The story was quite boring. I found myself skimming.

The issue with Derrik was closed within 2 pages. He bullied her throughout book one but all was forgiven within a few paragraphs in this book.

I expected the writing to be better in this book, but found it to be mediocre. This my opinion.

I paid $2.99 for this one, but it was probably worth $.99 if that. I actually regret spending money on book 2.

I won’t be reading book 3. Everything is just so sweet that it gives me a toothache

There really is nothing special about the heroine.

Well what a exciting and captivating second book in this series! I think this series gets better and better with each book. In this book we really get to know all the guys individually and I like them even more now. Kendall is better in this book but she had so much going on in her life...there is so much angst and drama surrounding Kendall though, it just never seems to get better. Brandy has written this very well though that it is realistic. I cannot wait for book 3!! Highly recommended.

I will tell you I absolutely loved Reviving Kendall, and Refusing Kendall just made me fall in love with Kendall and her guys so much more. RK had more of a relationship development, as Kendall and the guys are falling into their life rather smoothly. All the guys have their separate personalities, and yes I do have a favorite but that is just because I really love a good alpha and Maverick fits that bill. However the guys are sexy and can be just as take charge as Mav. I will say that there was a scene that is so freaking hot, I just kept saying to myself "Get it Girl" . I love that Kendall knows what she wants and can ask for it. We find out about Kendall's past more in this book in a big way. I love seeing the guys show their protectiveness , so damn sexy. And yeah there is a need for it in this book. The ending is a good happy one, and a good set up for what the next chapter will be.

Overall, don't think twice about this series. The White Trash Trilogy is a perfect example of RH in my book.

I don't even know where to start. This series just gets better and better.

The storyline for this book is just as good, if not better than the first book. There's drama, angst, danger and all the emotions you could imagine. It will reel you in from the very first page.
The characters are still as amazing as they are in the first book. I've fallen in love with each of them, Kendall included, even more thanks to this book. We get more insight to their characters, their pasts and how the dynamic works. It's a genuine pleasure to read.

I'm dying for the next book already, and am already anticipating the tears I'll no doubt shed, seeing as though this book and the one before it caused me to cry!

Excellent book, beautifully written and flows effortlessly. Five stars is too little for this book!

I had forgotten how much I loved these characters until I started reading this book. I was drawn back into their world and fell in love with them all over again. Now off to college, they are trying to settle into their new routines which ended up being much different than they had expected. With the boys becoming major football stars tension starts to develop. I think it's a pretty accurate portrayal of how things would happen in real life. I swear my heart stopped a couple times while reading. Then we have some major mystery/action going on. I was surprised by the turn of events. This was definitely a book that kept my attention the whole time and had me wanting to keep reading straight through. My emotions were all over the place with it as well. I can't wait to see what we get in the third and final book.

OMG this series is addictive, I cannot put it down! and this series seems to just get better and better.
Such an angst filled story that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end, I definitely did not see that twist coming. I loved every moment of angst, tension, laughter and love that I am left wanting more of these great characters and their story.

Kendall and her Quad are trying to find a good balance between college, their relationship as a group and also their individual relationships and outside forces trying to come between them and having a crazy stalker it leaves this story with the perfect amount of drama, mystery, tension and really tests their relationships.

I’m looking forward to reading the next part of their story.

How Long Will This Work?

I am really enjoying this series. The unorthodox love story is very interesting. At times I feel that it is immoral and at other times I'm in awe that it seems to be working. I also think about the fun Kendall has lol. Life is short so do you hold onto a love even if that person loves someone else? Kendall and the Quad are a handful. I love them. The author did a wonderful job developing the characters. I can picture each of the guys. This story had a few unexpected plot twists. I can't wait to read the last book in the trilogy

Well well well. . . You’ve done it again. I didn’t think you could make me love these characters anymore but you’ve gone and done it. (Note to self Brandy is a goddess and can make me feel so much feelers) This was an excellent 2nd book in this series. I once again couldn’t put it down. (but let’s be serious I can never put any of your books down) the flow was excellent. And hmmmmmmm can we talk about the sexy time! Good lawd woman!!! Can I have the next one pretty please. . .

Oh my god!

I friggin loved this book! It made me laugh, it made me cry, and made me rage...and ultimately it made me extraordinarily happy. This was an epic sequel to an already amazing series! I wont go into detail, because even a little would be spoilers galore. But I think what I liked most about this book was the conflict. It also depicted realistic issues people would have in any poly fidelity relationship. Well done, I'm so excited for book 3!

Absolutely wonderful ! I loved getting to know the boys better and seeing their relationship grow and be more open with one another. This book isn't all sunshine and rainbows Kendall has one complicated unbelievable life but at the same time there a realness to it and you can really relate to her , she's not lacking of personality that's for sure. I can't wait for book 3 , reclaiming Kendall! Brandy never disappoints 🔥

I love this series, so far.
I still wish she would end up knocked up though. I love seeing how harems deal with pregnancies and babies.

Can you see GOOSE with a tiny little baby?

Or Mav with his hands around Kendalls preggie belly?

Book pretty much opens with lead having sex with each Guy. Thought it was really odd and out of place in the scheme of things .

Author does wrap up things with the school bully that was in the first book. It was as if the author realized she left that loose in open and scrambled to tie it off in 3ish pages . Yay for closure but meh for the execution of it .

Really enjoyed the climax . Wished the author would have drawn out the finding of the car/lead . Hated that it went from the guys thinking she's dead to the next chapter having lead wake up in hospital. :(

Wished this wasn't a rushed trilogy and I honestly can't see the third book being all that good .

Let me guess the third book now , shall we ?
They have a commitment ceremony or marries one of the guys and we spend the whole book with her dealing with her unknown pregnancy and 6/10 chapters in she finds out she's prego? Spends the rest of the book dealing with that added with the each boys parent problems? Epilogue will obviously be years later with her being prego with her 3 child LOVING life 😎

I loved this one soo hard,it was a 100% better then the 1st one to me but sadly I still walked away disappointed.

I loved this one soo hard ❣️it was a 100% better then the 1st one to me but sadly I still walked away disappointed.....

You wanna know why I have a problem with RH’s centering around a h and her H’s all under the age of 21 ?
They. Are. Not. Ready.
Period full stop 🛑....
Now while I wasn’t sure how I felt about everyone at the end of the first book, sadly leaning towards heavy dislike, but n this book for the first half I was falling deeply in love with this group....
I love Teagan,Lucas,Goose/Grant and Mav, they are all distinctive an interesting loving and loyal, fun and most are flirty, ( lol, except Mav, I don’t honk he could flirt to save his life)( but that’s ok) and I loved seeing them grow and have fun with Kendall...
Problem is that even after a year together there was soo much ,almost too much they still didn’t have with each other , like trust and a strong foundation with each other .....
Too much fear, too much baggage and while all that is just natural and what just happens in life ,true true ,I know but these five just ....

I’ll try not to but might be possible spoilers ahead 🚨

Ok,I don’t know how but sometime from Kendall’s past know where she is and starts kinda ghosting her house, you know playing with the lights, moving things etc.,sadly Kendall naïvely plays it off never speaking up or pushing it like she should then it kinda gets buried, when other things start to happen.....
Now I know how Kendall feels about some things, she fights depression and loneliness and feeling important even with the attention of four sexy wonderful young men,wha gets me is when you finally have what you want and need ( love and friendship and affection and devotion and a family) why you don’t fight for it ?
The book starts out great, someone’s messing with Kendal but otherwise things are pretty dang great... school is ok,football games and sex and laughs, that is until the guys get her to go to a cliche frat party at Halloween and petty jealousy rears it’s ugly head w/Kendall ...
Sighs, the first time she over reacts w/the said guy, while pure and complete over reaction ,I kinda got it,but when you see said guy touching just a bra strap and nothing else, after over hearing knowing it’s all on a group of mean girls going after your men ,not the other way around ,wellllll seems like you’d step up and ask the beyotch what she thought she was playing at first before you stumble out and make to run off like an angry rabbit 🐰... but that’s me....
after being devoted to you for a whole year and all and practically living together ,I don’t see one cheating on you at a frat party in a group costume where you AND the three other guys are at... really ?
The first time I get it,but the second time after you KNOW he’s not that kinda guy and other girls are after him ? And you left weeks pass with out workin* it out ?
Weeks where one of the other guys after getting her has already been spinning out of control for months ?
Beaver( chat say what they build here) Kendall ,get it together and fight for your freakin family girl !
Like I dad first part is good, but then one of the guys gets hurt physically and then quickly mentally and emotionally and his pull back and growing jack ss behavior makes sense ,well at least for the first month or two but how the others and Kendall especially just seem to sit back and let him spiral out of control just really made me sad and disappointed me...
Thing is Kendall knew his behavior and the mean drunk he starts to become was his worst nightmare/greatest fear and while saying “I love you “ via txt every night despite how badly may act is nice , it’s not how you act is you really love some one...
I just didn’t get Kendal and the guys on this, I know their young ,at times too young for all they are taking on but you fight fir family !
But here every one seemed to get lost to their own demons and just let things go til they finally come to a head , Kendall almost gets killed and then she barely starts to recover and the book is over...
And I’m left thinking WTF ?!?!?!?
Seriously Kendall leaves the guys to basically sort things out like it’s nit her problem ... it’s like their guys they know what to do, not lil ole me ...... not the girl he supposedly loves and nit seems to hold the group together ...
Now at 18 ? 19? Whatever her age, she I’d get that all this is scared an$ overwhelming but after a month or two or letting him run wild and be a horses rear and step up and in and say or do something if it’s wrong ! you don’t just keep going to class while the man you supposedly love is drinking himself to death and getting into fights..... and you find ways to encourage your men to do the same ,you don’t just sit around and wait fi4 others to fix it or for it to magically fix itself....
Dear lord....
And then how does it end ? With a marriage proposal.... five ppl all under 21 who still haven’t really dealt w/all the issues that tore them apart.... yeah marriage seems right ...

So I couldn't stop listening to Refusing Kendal once I got started. It felt like reading a whole new story, even though I have read it and its sequel already haha. I will say I was shocked by the narrator change but it was alright in the end!

Story: I really enjoyed this story because Brandy does such a great job making you feel and pull for these characters. I appreciated (I cant say love because my heart kept breaking each time) seeing the discord between the 5 of them, because in real life relationships are all unicorns and rainbows. There will be tough times and arguments and needed time apart. I think Brandy handled the various events very well (no I wont spoil them for you!) and I liked some things not expected. One of my only complaint is how naive Kendall was and kept saying the incidents with the lights was because of her friendly ghost. Like, you were assaulted by your parents' people from jail and Goose was hurt, why wouldn't you be suspicious of lights randomly turning on and off in the house. I also kinda got mad that Kendall had to keep apologizing to the guys, mostly T, when they messed up. Like the holy bra strap, ok a little out of proportion but the gym incident...totally not. Very justified. And Kendall felt the need to apologize. Besides those couple things I absolutely adore this series. I think my heart just about died when the thing with Goose and then at the big even at the end. I loooooved the individual dates, and when Mav finally told her he loved her. I cant wait to see what other combos they have in the bedroom because towards the end it was getting VERY interesting haha 😉🔥🤤. I am dying for book 3 on audio already haha.

Narration: I had listened to Rosalie in one of Brandy's other audiobooks and I enjoyed her rendition. I will say I like the original narrator better for Kendall but liked Rosalie better with the guys. I was irked with the previous narrator when she depicted Goose, but I thought Rosalie did a fantastic job with all the male characters. Sometimes I thought she portrayed Kendall a little too naive, because Kendall kicks some serious butt and doesn't go down without a fight and Rosalie's voice doesnt really lend itself to being naturally a BA female (more sweet, with the adorable lisp, etc.). I would have like to have heard her get more angry/more assertive and try to bring that element to the story. Love everything else about it, definitely earned herself 4 stars!

Everyone should be getting this on audio, its fantastic! Definitely didn't disappoint and makes me checking daily for Book 3 to be released ❤️

This is a VAST improvement on the first book. I dinged it a star for a couple of reasons

1) the only thing with the circumstances surrounding the villain at the end it isnt legally possible for things to play out that way, most people won't know that and it won't irk them, but I do so...

2) there are some continuity errors like saying Goose wakes at the drop of a hat and then not having him wake when Mac comes on, or saying reporters hound her at the game because she is one girl dating four football stars and that is why she goes back into the locker room with the team after the game and then saying they are keeping their relationship a secret and no one know, you know except for the guys who sit next to that she yells it out to, or the girls at the frat party, basically it flips back and forth from being a secret but some of the building peril requires it be a secret.

3) almost everything having to do with the college is totally unrealistic. Yes some.colleges don't require the freshmen to live on campus, but almost all of them do and football players in a program that is suppose to be as big as the one the guys are enrolled in would always be in dorms and wouldn't have much less free time. College games except for championship games and bowl games always end the weekend after thanksgiving. They shouldn't have had three games going into a possible championship after thanksgiving. This is super easy to research and find out. Don't be lazy. Kendall would NEVER have been given a pass to let her go back in the tunnel or be allowed to be lifted onto the field and run back with the guys after the games. Similarly the guys would never be allowed to hop their own flight back from a game to see their gf.

Am I being overly critical? Maybe, but these things kept pulling me out of the story. They weren't realistic and I already have to suspend reality to believe a harem, so I like the other details to be neat and tight.

I received this book for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book as much as I did Reviving Kendall. There were so many twists and turns. This one had my emotions all over the place I found myself laughing one minute then angry the next.
I loved seeing the relationships develop between Kendall and her guys. We learn more about their pasts and how their relationship works. Even though they have been together for a while there is still a lot they are still trying to learn about each other and dealing with trust issues. The boys are trying to juggle playing college ball and making time for Kendall. Kendall is living in the “haunted house” as she says while the boys live in the dorms. I have to say I was disappointed in Teagan at one point in this book and Kendall had me shaking my head every time she would make comments about the stupid girl that dies in the horror movies then she would do it anyway.
The drama and angst had my heart beating erratic. The ups and downs and seeing what everyone when through in this one had me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. I cannot wait for the next one.

A few of my favorites:

No matter how crazy shit gets around here, these are the moments that keep us sane and more importantly, together.

His smile turns soft, “You can call me whatever you want, as long as I get to see that beautiful face.”

Reality says that I am the biggest hypocrite on the planet for wanting to keep them all for myself, but my heart says that reality can stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.

“Kendall,” Teagan starts, “Ever since you threw my money back at me in the restaurant, you’ve had me wrapped around your finger. I went stupid there for a bit, but I don’t want to make the same mistake and give you he chance to get away again.”

Refusing Kendall is the first book in the White Trash Trilogy by Brandy Slaven.

I’m superbly annoyed that she kept ignoring all the little signs that someone else had been in the house. And that it took an actual incision of privacy for her four overly protective boyfriends to get security for the house, knowing that she would be home alone for the majority of the week. It just seemed majorly out of character for her and them in both instances.

I’m disappointed in myself for not connecting the dots, to the obvious perpetrator from the start. The only consolation is that little nugget of information pertaining to biology that slips out during the main trauma.

So much happens in this book. Grant’s injury, and confrontation with his father. Leading to his and Kendall’s falling out for awhile, and his abhorrent behavior. Teagan’s crappy ability to find himself in comprising, but at least partially innocent experiences. The non-blood related stalker. That little cliffy/bomb drop at the end. Mav’s own struggle with coming to terms in their unconventional relationship.

I wish we would’ve gotten more minute details thrown in. Classes, day to day happenings, and the like. The story kept skipping back and forth between meaningful moments, there was no filler really. Which isn’t usually too much of a bad thing. But it’s like with emotions, or truly good circumstances: if you’re never sad, or you’ve never known bad times you won’t truly appreciate the good, the happy for the gift that it is. And that’s what the lack of little snippets of impertinent scenes does to a story, it keeps in full speed ahead mode the entire time. Imo.

Kendall and her quad are in college and it's great but a bit lonely. Attending separate colleges with full class schedules and the guy's demanding football schedule and curfew, Kendall spends much of her time alone in their house. Well, alone except for the 'ghost' that keeps turning off the lights. When bad fortune hits one of the guys, it triggers doubts and insecurities that threaten their unconventional relationship. Kendall is trying her best to hold them together but when her past resurfaces, it may signal the end.

Refusing Kendall is the second book in the White Trash Trilogy. I loved it. Brandy Slaven has managed to write a believable contemporary RH in such a compelling way that once I start I am unable to put the book down until I am finished. I was afraid to start this one, to be honest. The title makes it clear that there is going to be plenty of angst. I couldn't stand the thought of this wonderful group breaking apart. When I finally got the nerve to start the book, I was sucked in immediately. I read half of the book with a sick stomach worrying over this group, being mad at certain ones, frustrated with others, and hurting for all of them. Kendall is amazing and her absolute love, loyalty, and strength won me over even more. Not all of the guys shine in this one; they are flawed men with their own demons but they prove themselves when it counts. I will admit they broke my heart along the way. Rough patches are part of life. Overcoming our weaknesses and proving ourselves is what makes us worthy. Kendall and her quad have a beautifully flawed love.

I loved the first book in this series, even though it made me weep a waterfall! I fell in love with the characters and story and was super excited for more. So I was crazy happy when this book landed in my kindle the early hours of this morning, and after only a few hours sleep I dived right into it and didn't emerge until I could turn no more pages.

The author yet again has taken me on a ride of emotions. I found myself lulled into a false sense of security thinking all was fine and then suddenly bam, bam, bam my emotions were pulled all over the place again! But what a read it is, I loved it! I loved the characters interactions and their emotions, you could literally feel them coming off the pages. I loved the joyous moments and the suspenseful ones too. Kendall is a great character, she's grown so much from book one but she still has moments of self doubt, regardless of that though she stays strong for those she loves. The four guys, Lucas, Mav, Teagan and Goose are as swoonworthy as ever but this book is about how they deal with the crap life throws at them at times and I thought the way the author played it out was done really well.

This book was a five star read for me and I'm really looking forward to there being a third book in the series. I enjoyed reading it and will be picking it up again to read again soon.

Such a crazy, rollercoaster kind of a ride that makes you want to grip your sit tighter, but also gives you one hell of a rush.
When a story starts off this ideally, with everything being just right and everyone being so happy, you just know that there is going to be a big falling out soon. And there was.
I swear, every damn time, in every damn book when something spooky or weird is happening, the heroes are always thinking that they are overreacting or imagining things. And every time you just want to scream at them "Dude, you are not imagining it! Pay attention". But the never do, do they?
On the other hand, I really appreciate it that the fallout happens because of one outside influence and nit the inside conflict. I especially loved (and this is one of the best things about the series, in my opinion) how the characters feel about their relationship : “I am in no way, shape, fashion, or form ashamed of the relationship that the five of us have”. When it is "us against the world" and not "us against each other" and when they are not ashamed of how they are feeling. You don't like it? That's your problem.
Just as with the first book, reading this makes you feel raw and vulnerable by the end. But still, I enjoyed every second of it and will definitely be on the lookout for the third book.

Refusing kendall

I've had this book on my tbr shelf forever.. I got sucked into Reviving Kendall but with how the book ended, i was ok with waiting until the last book of the trilogy came out before rading this one.
This book takes plase a few months after the last book left off and Kendall and the guys are away at college.
I am happy with how they dealt with the "freshman has to stay in the dorms" thing and they showd maturity in how they dealt with their separation. Not that there was much of it with their free weekends and only having to be back at their rooms by 10 so they saw each other often.
Then the drama started to happen and I'm so pissed at the guys for not stepping in. So much could have been avoided if they all just sat down and talking. The drama wasn't over done like alot of other books I've read so it was ok, but alot happend after the first 50% of the book.

So for this series isn't that bad. But its not out of the water amazing for me.
When you are dealing with a contemporary RH its very tricky.

What I did like was that there was more action in this story and we got to see how they all had this group relationship while in college.

Again to me comtemporary RH is odd, because 1 girl with 4 guys in society is odd.But when theres a supernatural aspect to it then its somehow more okayt to me as a reader if that makes sense?
