Bobbie is a strong willed, independant woman who had me liking her with the first lines of the book,
“Bobbie Fleming knew that today was destined to be one of those terrible, no good kind of days. It was going to be one of those days reminiscent of a quirky women’s fiction novel, but without the slow progression to self-realization and the eventual sticky-sweet happily-ever-after at the end.”
She could be a little confusing at times going from SUPER positive,
“Bobbie often told herself things like this to reaffirm her positive nature. Positive people brought positive things into their lives. Positive thinking, positive life was her motto.”
To SUPER negative, within the space of a couple of paragraphs,
“She could honestly say her life was firmly planted in the Hot Mess category of the utter failure index. She could be the poster girl for failed basic single girl in action. And she was not being a Drama Queen. She was definitely not a fucking Drama Queen. She’s a realist. And the reality of her situation was that she was a walking, talking, waste of a life at the present moment. Things might change one day, but at the rate she was going—she wasn’t going to hold her breath.”
Bobbie also had the tendency to talk about how proud she was of her body and her curves. She was not a skinny girl, she was a real woman with tits and ass, and that made me like her all the more… Until in the very next chapter she would be insecure and trying to get one (or all) of “Roc” to tell her she was beautiful… I wish her character were a LITTLE more consistent.
Then there was the sex…. There is A LOT of sex. When you are the “charge mate” of an alien prince who is “split” into 4 bodies?? Well, Bobbie had A LOT of satisfying to do!
I was also surprised at the language in the book. I don’t know why, but I always imagine erotica written by females to be a bit more flowery and descriptive with their language… Maybe that’s wrong of me. But, I definitely wasn’t expecting,
“”Suck me hard,” he said and drove into her mouth. She eagerly swallowed his cock, sucking on it with a frenetic need as it went deeper and deeper into her mouth. He gripped her firmly by the hair and pushed deeper down her throat as his dick relentlessly pounded into her pussy. From the front and the rear, he took her until her whole being centered on his dick. The spectacular cock that pumped into her pussy and the cock that fucked her mouth. She lost herself in sensation.”
.. And didn’t any of you wonder about the logistics of one woman having sex with four men at one time??

Nope. I tried. I tried so freaking hard. Gave this story so many chances to get back on track. But it was one of those reverse harem stories that exists mostly for the sex and there's only a plot for a few seconds while the characters recover from their lust haze. Look, it didn't sound exactly great from the summary, but it had potential. Potential which was never realized because of all the sex. I'm not a prude, obviously, because there for a bit, reverse harems were my jam. But this story was just too much. And some of it sounded...quite painful. Hard NOPE.

I loved this book! I was excited to start reading this book so as soon as I got my hands on it, as well as soon as it downloaded onto my Kindle I started reading it right away. I knew right away as soon as I finished chapter 1 that I was going to love this book and it didn't disappoint.
Author Gillian Zane's characters are so easy to connect with and so easy to fall in love with. Her writing style is perfection and this book was exactly the type of book I needed when I read it. I was actually in a bit of a book hangover slump, but this book brought me right out of it. I need more books by this fantastic author, like immediately!

Every time Gillian Zane is about to release a new book I´m giddy to get my hands on it. No matter what genre she writes, her characters and I , we simply click. Now she wrote a reverse harem story and what can I tell, I was so not disappointed. Au de contrair, I love, love , love Bobbie´s story.
Charged isn´t like the other reverse harem books, the story is unique and I connected very easily with the characters. They´re near and dear to my heart.
Charged has everything I love in a good book; a witty and fun story, excellent written, beautifully thought out and beautifully told. I was captivated from chapter one and read Charged in one sitting, I couldn´t put it down. Charged contains scorching hot nsfw scenes, just the right amount of drama and danger to keep me at the edge of my seat and a beautiful and well deserved HEA. I recommend Charged and give 5 beautiful stars.

Charged was fun, honestly made me crack up in place and I found it to be overall super entertaining.
I was thinking about it and this is pretty much the second ever Reverse Harem book, I have read and reviewed here. So, to be honest, I am not sure how many of these I will be reading in the future, but for now, I have enjoyed the books that I got.
Back to Charged and Bobbie’s adventures!
I really liked her from the first chapter, she is so jaded reminded me of me, though not as sarcastic as yours truly to be fair to Bobbie. You gotta give it to her, it is not every day that a girl gets kidnapped in the middle of New York by a gorgeous alien!
Between us, there is a part of me still undecided about Roc i.e Sexy Alien Kidnapper! So kidnapping is a big nono! I think we can all agree to that. But, I mean I see where poor Roc is coming from… but methinks deep down that he could have gone about it in a better way!
That does not diminish from the fun I had watching these 2 argue along the way.
I am going to stop giving you too many details as I do not want to spoil the book for you guys. Charged was nicely written with a good pace. I liked the secondary characters very much and I want to see more of Bobbie’s new planet that is for sure.
I was really taken with the descriptions of fields of flowers and I am still cracking about the transparent bridges! (you need to read so you know what I am talking about).
The characters are complex and much deeper than I expected. I thought it was going to be back to back sexy time (I mean it is that way don’t get me wrong) but you could see a lot more to the characters than I expected. Lots of inner debates going on!
I am going to very much recommend Charged and it looks to be book 1 of a new series. I have an idea of who the main will be for book 2 but my lips are sealed and I am looking forward to it for sure!
I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Sorry no spoilers of any kind.
This book was awesome even though it seemed to drag a little in the beginning but then it picked up by the third chapter and started getting really good.
This is my first time reading anything by Gillian Zane and I have to say she’s pretty good at weaving her stories.
I’ll be checking out more of her books to see what they are like.
But anyway yes I do recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in crawling into this story and getting lost within its pages.

I love this book. It is very well written. I love books where the females are the bad ass characters. It is a very good fantasy book. The aliens are super sexy and the way she writes about their world makes you want to visit it. Can't wait for the rest of the series.
