Five Star Decadence!
Professionally written and extremely fast paced, Ms. Taylor has woven an engaging tale set within the world of BDSM that is original and difficult to put down! The story flows seamlessly from the first page to the very last. The characterizations are complex, engaging and felt so very real. The main characters are exceptionally likeable, the secondary characters are endearing, memorable and the combined interactions simply captivating. As with all of Ms. Taylor’s novels, the heat level is incendiary, and the hero’s brand of dominance is tempered with respect as well as affection.
As one of my favorite authors, I’ll be stalking Ms. Taylor impatiently until the next release in the Decadence L.A. series! Although part of a series, “Under His Command” is a standalone novel and no prior reading required to fully enjoy the narrative.

This could almost be called a comedy of misunderstandings if people's hearts and feelings weren't quite so involved as they are.
Cassie is a petite woman who looks like she's about 18. The problem is that she is actually 30, but no one really treats her that way. On the night before she's due to start her new job, she's out walking the beach when she runs into some young people playing beach volleyball who let her join. She has a couple of beers and sits with them. Then she goes wading in the ocean and gets knocked down by a huge wave, and saved by a huge, gorgeous man and his super cute doggie. When she gets to her new job at Coronado the next day, it turns out that the man who rescued her is a SEAL instructor, and she'll be seeing him often, since her job is to work a computer program that helps to train SEALs.
When Flynn rescues the beautiful woman out of the ocean, he thinks that she's just some underage kid out playing around. But when she shows up on base the next day, it turns out that she's the new girl genius working on their new computer simulators. He's immediately attracted, but he thinks that she's 23 or so, and that's too young for him. So he spends 6 months spending time with her, as friends. He keeps telling himself that she's too young and innocent, plus she's vanilla.
The relationship between Flynn and Cassie isn't an instalove situation. It's instalust, but seriously, who doesn't lust after a hot man in uniform, right? While instalove can be great to read, it's also nice to see a relationship develop slowly and organically, which is what happens in this one. They are friends who go out and do things together, even though they both want to be more and neither of them knows it. The misunderstandings going on in this book make things much more difficult than they have to be, but without that conflict, we wouldn't have much of a book, so they are necessary.

Under His Command is the second book in the Decadence L.A. series, but can be read as a stand alone. Cassie is starting the same job in a new town on a military base when she sees a familiar face - the man who rescued her from the tides the previous night. The desire she feels for Flynn is high and setting off all of her submissive buttons, but she quickly realizes she’s been placed in the friend zone. When the opportunity arises for Cassie to go to a BDSM club with her friends, she jumps at the opportunity to go in costume, only to find Flynn there, wanting to be her Dom. Can they get past the friend zone to find a future, or are there just too many misconceptions and misunderstandings between them?
Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed reading this book! I am loving Club Decadence, in all of its BDSM glory, but I also really love the connection that I feel between the characters in this series so far. Flynn and Cassie are so perfect for each other, if only they weren’t afraid to reach for what they wanted. Flynn thinks that Cassie is too young and too vanilla for him, while Cassie knows she’s been friend zoned and even thinks Flynn has a girlfriend! Months are spent tip-toeing around each other, treating each other as good friends, hiding their attraction and both wanting so much more. I absolutely loved when Flynn finds out who he’s been dancing with and all of the repercussions, and consequences, that follow. This book had me turning pages, loving Cassie and Flynn’s connection and growing relationship, and even loved seeing the characters from the previous book! I’ve loved this series so far and highly recommend it!

Another lovely entry in Taylor's Decadence Club series. Cassie is a 30 year-old computer whiz who looks 16 and regularly gets carded. Flynn is a Navy SEAL trainer who thinks she's too young for his 39, yet as their friendship develops they fall hard for each other, both convinced they will never be together. They're also both into kink, but that doesn't come up in conversation until they meet at Decadence and Cassie runs scared.
I really, really loved that the book shows them getting to know each other over time. They are friends for 6 months before the whole club thing happens and given that so often, it's "love at first sight" and they're getting engaged a month later, I was really pleased to see the passage of time as a part of the story.
The characters are good. Cassie seems quite realistic as a woman who has some trouble being taken seriously because she looks so young. Flynn is the not exactly grizzled SEAL, who is in good enough condition that he might still be called up for missions, although he keeps telling Cassie that it's highly unlikely. I half expected that he would be called up.
All in all, very enjoyable.

Flynn and Cassie's is a bit more spicy than the first book and I enjoyed it a lot.
Cassie is a computer nerd and completely unaware of just how attractive she is.
Flynn is the opposite..he certainty knows that his smile is a weapon just as lethal as his body.
They become friends even tho the attraction and chemistry is there.
One of them knows, the other doesn't..and there are a couple of secrets between them and I def enjoyed how they found out!
Also how can you resist a man with that body, that personality and as alpha as he is?!

WE COULDN’T SEE THE FOREST FOR THE TREES
I am sure there are other fans of Maddie Taylor’s books who would agree that she writes swoon-worthy characters and situations. From page one to the end was a page-turner. While this story is part of the Decadence L.A. series, it will easily read well as a stand-alone. I loved the chemistry between Flynn and Cassie, and while there was an attraction, it isn’t something that either one of them does anything about for quite some time. The story is a sensual, erotic friend to lovers tale.
Cassie Hardwick will leave her job in Boston to accept working with the same company, but this time heading up the computer simulation program developed for training Navy SEALs. Moving back to the coast of California will be a new start, but it also comes with starting over with friends. While Cassie experimented in college with D/s relationships and BDSM, she hasn’t been involved for some time, actually, rarely even dating. Maybe she will change all that with this move, especially now that she will be close to her college roommate, Jules.

Decadence LA is book two of the decadence LA series by Ms. Taylor. To start off, I’ve read a number of Ms. Taylor’s series books. This is my first review for one Ms. Taylor’s books, so starting off I have read “The Jackson Brother’s” series, “The Son’s of Johnny Hastings’” series, (collaboration with other authors), “The Red Petticoat Saloon” series (collaboration with other authors), the “Primarian mates” sci-fi series, “The Club Decadence” series and other sci-fi, historical, contemporary and western books. I think, Ms. Taylor is a very detailed, creative and imaginative writer. I like to read a book, and actually see in my mind the people, and places and understand the situations that they’re put in.
Decadence LA – two was worth the wait. Book one was hot, and book two is just as hot. The characters, the situations and plot are believable. Her attention to detail about The Navy Seal organizations was so interesting, I reread some of it so I would know what the characters were referring to for future reference.
Flynn is a commander/trainer in the U.S. Navy Seal training program. The hero was, dominate, loving and sexy. He didn’t act like he didn’t like this woman.
Cassie is a computer contractor working on the same base for the same training program. She’s smart, sassy, and she knows what she wants and what she likes. She blessed with youthful looks at thirty-one, which stalls the relationship for Flynn, but they work it out.
Flynn and Cassie are brought together by a near fatal accident. I like the way Flynn is revealed to Cassie and how they find each other a second time. I enjoy the build up to the relationship, and the anticipation, and getting around Flynn’s hang up. No kidnapping, no cheating, just these two people falling in love.

I really enjoyed Under His Command.
Set in the beautiful city of San Diego,more specifically the island of Coronado.
Cassie Hardwick is the new computer lab and simulator instructor who will be working and training Navy Seals. She’s extremely smart and capable,she’s beautiful and has a great personality and she’s also thirty one but looks more like in her early twenties.
Captain Flynn Hanson works and lives in Coronado. He’s the trainer for the up and coming new Navy Seals. He’s gorgeous and interesting,built to perfection and minds his manners and knows how to treat a lady.
Cassie and Flynn instantly connect and become good friends. They enjoy each other’s company and their conversations are wide ranging. They are attracted to each other but keep that to themselves.
Cassie is worried about having a relationship with someone she works with.
Flynn thinks she’s too young for his thirty nine year old self.
She’s a submissive but hasn’t been in that type of relationship for a long while.
He’s a dominant through and through.
When the encounter each other one night at Club Decadence,well let’s just say everything about their relationship is about to change!
I loved and appreciated how the author was very descriptive and precise in details in her writing.
She describes everything so clearly and beautifully,that I felt I was actually in San Diego.
I could visualize everything from the computer lab to the gorgeous Seals.
So descriptive I could also feel the feelings that the author was portraying the characters going through!
The characters were very well developed and very likable.
They were down to earth and normal everyday people with the extra spice of kink added in ;)
The book is sexy and sweet,hot and romantic with a side order of a whole lot of frustration!

She describes everything so clearly and beautifully,that I felt I was actually in San Diego.
I could visualize everything from the computer lab to the gorgeous Seals.
So descriptive I could also feel the feelings that the author was portraying the characters going through!
The characters were very well developed and very likable.
They were down to earth and normal everyday people with the extra spice of kink added in ;)
The book is sexy and sweet,hot and romantic with a side order of a whole lot of frustration!

A scorching read, with an excellent mix of all you want in a BDSM/contemporary romance.
I really enjoy domination/submission and BDSM books. Having read Master My Love by the same author I was keen to read more about Decadence and the Doms and subs that frequent it. I have to say I enjoyed this much more than Master My Love. We didn't even step inside the sex club until almost half way through the book, I really liked that we got to know both Cassie and Flynn as whole characters, rather than just a Dom and a sub. The book is written third person, and whilst most of it feels to be from Cassie's perspective, there is enough of Flynn to also get a good feel of his personality.
The story is fairly slow-burn, with a lot of sexual tension and repressed feelings. Whilst this could have dragged and felt slow, the author did an excellent job of injecting pace, so instead I was hooked and almost couldn't turn the pages quickly enough. The long time (6 months) spent 'just as friends' allowed me to not only believe in them but also that their relationship had the chance to grow and develop. Even if it was only in a platonic way by that point.
Once Flynn discovers the truth about Cassie, events take an abrupt turn and the pace really picks up. At this point we get some wonderful BDSM play scenes and although things relationship wise move very quickly, their age and the length of time they have known each other made this work. I perhaps would have liked a little bit of them settling into life as a couple, though the epilogue did show us a HEA along with an extremely erotic play scene at Decadence.
This is an ideal book for anyone who enjoys BDSM romances and likes a good story to go with it.

This was a story that kept me turning the pages quickly, as the push & pull waiting for Flynn and Cassie to actually fully communicate was frustrating like crazy as they were perfect for each other. Not to mention the sparks were flying everywhere which kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the will they or won't they ever get it on. So it was a slow burn as they were friends for 6 months before they actually got the sexy part of the story, since no one was ponying up the misconceptions about each other. And there was the colorful cast of secondaries that added more depth to the mix, a few twists to allow for f-bomb dropping, and of course sexy times to light panties on fire to perfectly round out this amazing story out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Under His Command is the second book I've read by Maddie Taylor and I'm really starting to like her writing a lot. Master, My Love, the first book in the Decadence L.A. series was really good, but Under His Command was much more enjoyable.
I liked the way this one started out--Cassie at the beach with some new friends, then stumbling at the water as she was attempting to go home only to be saved my a stranger. Just something about meeting Flynn, the mysteriousness about him, him charm, and his domineering style clicked with me. Then, once we got to know him even more, I was glad to see the sparks with him and Cassie. Cassie was an easy character to like and I liked that she wasn't fearful.
There was much more of a story line with Under His Command, aside from the BDSM, and I feel the author did an even better job getting across to the reader by her precise details. Yes, there was still a lot left for the imagination, but Taylor nailed every scene with clarity. You truly felt like you were right there, experiencing it all.
If you're a fan of doms and subs, you should certainly check out Under His Command. And though it is part of a series, it's perfectly fine to read as a standalone. Maddie Taylor is going to keep you on your toes so be prepared!

Simply splendid read, great characters and a sound BDSM club backdrop keeps you enticed
This has been a simply splendid read and as promised the story had been exquisitely written and it all added to the characters and the plot and the story and I guarantee that you will not be able to put this book down once you begin reading and discover what the outcome is going to be.
Commander Flynn Dalton had rescued a young woman on the beach when he believed she was drunk and had been smoking pot and had decided to go swimming which was not the case and this had been how he had first met Cassie unbeknown to him was the fact he would be seeing her again very soon indeed.
Cassie was nervous and also excited in the responsibility of the computer program she was going to be fitting and running at the Naval base and where she would be running the training sessions that would help test the reflexes of the Navy Seals as they completed the shoot out and the face off against insurgents and many other situations they may face in the field.
Imagine her surprise when the officer she sees first is none other than the man that rescued her and when he hears she will be installing and running the multi-million-pound simulation realises how intelligent she is as well as beautiful. Over the time she is there their friendship grows closer but he is aware of base protocol and has even put a few other me in line and on their butt when they have been less that gentlemen towards her.
As the book continues it is only too apparent that both have deep feelings for each other but are putting off doing anything about it until she attends a special open evening at Club Decadence with her best friend and her husband and Dom and then the cat is finally out the bag and Cassie realises that she has to speak with Flynn and he has similar intentions.
I guarantee that you will love this book and you will not put it down till you reach the end and discover the outcome.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I absolutely adored Cassie - she is a sweet sexy little computer nerd 🤓 who life has thrown a couple bad days at but she is a go-getter and let me tell you that girl can go when she needs to (yeah so not telling you 😂 ) I found her to be one of those characters that you want to pull from the book and protect!
And then there is our charming hero Flynn - dashing pirates be danged this man has it all - I would go overboard just to be rescued by him
This read like a real-life calamity of missteps - if it can be miscommunicated, overreacted to, or blown out of proportion - these two somehow manage to find a way to experience it as they tentatively feel their way through uncharted waters
Truly enjoyed the characters and the storyline - Another perfect addition to the LA collection - This is such a great series - the books are beautifully written the relationships are delightful and sensual

This is my second Maddie Taylor book and I am enjoying her writing, though this one moved a bit slower than the first I read. Cassie is assigned to the Navy Seal training center as a tech for the new virtual computer training she helped create. Flynn is a trainer who is ready for more in his life. He is attracted to Cassie but misjudgment on his part keeps them apart for longer than need be.
I enjoyed the slow burn romance between Cassie and Flynn. Their start is one of burgeoning friendship as each pines for the other, hiding their feelings behind things that should have been asked or said. This is a quick and sexy read, paced for a lazy weekend day of romance. The story is uncomplicated and the characters without out angst or secrets.
If you are in the mood for kinky romance, this is a great choice.

Explosive love scenes and men in uniform - need I say more?!

This is a slow burn book that then explodes, into off the chart scorching hot bdsm sex scenes. That's not to say that the book doesn't grab you from the get go as it most certainly does, it's just Flynn and Cassie take a while to get themselves sorted out, unlike a lot of erotica books I've read lately Maddie allows the main characters to develop and become personable before she throws them into the sex, which I personally find a lot more enjoyable. I also enjoyed the ending, which again with a lot of books I've read lately I've felt have been rushed, but again, Maddie takes the time to bring the book to a natural conclusion.
My only question is: where do I sign up for an uniformed Dom? as I have to say they sound pretty tasty!!

This is the first book I have read by Maddie Taylor and it was very good. I liked her style of writing and the fact that Flynn and Cassie didn't head into a BDSM relationship from day one - that would be totally unbelievable. Cassie looks likes she's just out of her teens and after realizing she wants more from life, she ups sticks and moves across the country to be closer to her best friend. When she meets a gorgeous, but arrogant hunk on her first night, there is a miscommunication. Next day, she finds out Flynn is actually Commander Flynn Dalton and from that moment, she becomes the object of his desires. Flynn on the other hand, sees some one who is too young and naive to want the lifestyle he craves. When Flynn finds out that his impression of Cassie might not be what he thought, he sets out to win her over. Would definitely try some more books by Maddie Taylor.

Cassie has arrived back in California, this time San Diego, to start her new job on the naval base. A trip to the beach on the night before her job begins, has her meeting a handsome though stern man. Unfortunately, he takes her to be much younger than she is. At work, she discovers she will be interacting regularly with the handsome, Flynn whom she met the previous night. He still thinks he's too old for her, but they become friends. Neither realizes the other is in the D/s lifestyle and their conversations never go there. One trip to Club Decadence in Los Angeles and everything comes out in the open. This romance has a lot going for it and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this relationship grow and change. There are a few misunderstandings, a few punishments, some very hot club action, and some witty banter. It all makes for one great read!

Maddie Taylor had done and excellent job with this story the relationship between Flynn and Cassie develops so organically. Although Cassie is really 30 she looks much younger so when she and Flynn meet he thinks she is much too young and innocent for him. They have great chemistry right from the start but begin as friends not only because of the perceived age difference but because he thinks she will not be into the D/s lifestyle. As they begin to grow closer and learn more about each other their relationship blossoms into more. This is definitely a book I would recommend the chachters are well written and seem three dimensional. If you enjoy dominance and submission stories you will definitely enjoy this.

She was perfect for the Commander Flynn. Holy hotness, let's talk about Flynn for a minute. There where times in this story I wanted to beat him. Flynn found the perfect woman for him, on the beach, caught in the tide and trying not to drown! He assumes Cassie is a teenager because she's petite and looks young but that's not the case and soon they bump into each other, sparks fly and a friendship grows between them. Cassie is starting a new job in a new town and Flynn takes her under his wing, shows her around the area and keeps tabs on her. He's a dom that's out of practice and he would definitely like Cassie to be his sub but he thinks she's to young and vanilla for his lifestyle. Feelings develop, secrets are revealed and soon these 2 find out that they are perfect for each other in every way! This book is full of steam, funny moments, BDSM and an unplanned love! Really good story!

Under His Command is a wonderful BDSM romance. The characters are real and heart warming with plenty of buildup to their story and relationship. There is not a lot of drama but their unique chemistry is built through friendship and being co-workers. Cassie is trying to rediscover herself and her desires. Flynn is a seal and a protective gentleman but is also a Dom that knows what he wants from a submissive. When these two characters get past many misunderstandings their chemistry is off the charts with sexual tension that has the reader fanning themselves and hoping these two can overcome their differences. I loved the read and highly recommend this book for a hot page turning read! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

Wow I am so in love with this book! Once I started this book I could not stop. I really enjoyed Flynn and Cassie story! There are so many of emotions in this book. There was times I was laughing and times I wanted to cry! This author draws you in and would not let you go. This author keeps you entertained through the whole book and thinking about Cassie and Flynn well after the story comes to an end. I had the worse book hangover after reading these 2 books. Flynn had me sighing and falling in love with him right away! He is way up there on my list of book boyfriends. Guys this is a must read.

The second book in the Decadence LA series. I really enjoyed the original series, so i was happy to read the spin off and I enjoyed the first book very much
I think I liked this book even better than the first in the series. While reading I could tell that Maddie Taylor enjoyed writing this book and these characters.
Flynn and Cassie are two wonderful very likeable characters and I loved how they became friends first and they weren’t in their twenties anymore. They dance around each other in this book and there are lots of funny moments. And when they do get together … very steamy.
In short I loved every word of this book and I would recommend it.
I think I liked this book even better than the first in the series. While reading I could tell that Maddie Taylor enjoyed writing this book and these characters.

This is the second book in the LA Decadence series by this author. I love this author and all her books! This book did not disappoint! It was a great follow up to the first book. I loved how we spent the majority of the story outside of the club getting to know the characters and the couple. It was very sweet and romantic, along with some sexy bits. Great balance and made the book more substantial than just sex nonstop (although there is some great sexy times towards the end)! I highly recommend that you read this book, and if you haven’t read any other books by this author, that you go and read them all because they are great!

Cassie is starting a new job and moving across the country to do it. It's a good job and she's made friends but she needs... more. Even though Cassie only thinks of Flynn as a friend, he sees her as more. Now he just has to convince her. That is if she ever talks to him again when she finally goes with her best friends to a BDSM club and sees him there. Did I mention they work together? It's a good book with lots of laughter, a few tears, lots of heat, and love.💕❤️️💕
