A Step Beyond
Colin, a shy, skinny, redhead with freckles and Stan, star athlete, muscular, and a bully become stepbrothers and close friends, doing almost everything together. As their relationship develops, Colin realizes he’s attracted to his stepbrother in a way seen negatively by much of society. Stan, although the same age as Colin, is physically more mature and driven by hormones to seek each and every opportunity to get his rocks off, unconcerned about Colin’s presence−or feelings.
Colin can’t resist the flattery of Stan’s attentions and is manipulated by the bully to participate in seemingly harmless activities, which over time verge on being sexually deviant. Inevitably, Colin’s hunky stepbrother sets up a challenge Colin dare not refuse if he wants to keep his stepbrother’s affection−games of strip gin rummy with both humiliating and ultimately sexual overtones.
As the games become progressively physically intimate and emotionally intense, the question arises: How close is too close for the stepbrothers?

As a bureaucrat in local government, Kenn claims to find few outlets outside of porn fiction for his innate creativity and is pleased others are interested in reading what he writes.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Rape, abuse, revenge, and taking advantage of younger men. This is one of those books that is very much like a train wreck. When you pass it you can not turn awayeven though you really want too. Well this is one of those books that while you are reading it you really hope that it is not going to be as bad as you think it is but in reality it is worse. This is one of those books that you have no warning as to what to expect and when you are reading it and thinking it cannot not possibly get any worse then it is already, but then it does.
Colin thinks that his life is about to change for the better when his mom is getting married to a man named Stephan and he is going to have a new step brother named Stan that is not only the same age as him but also very popular as well.
What Colin thinks is a good thing soon turns to something else. Yeah it was all well and good at first when Colin and Stan both experimented with each other. But soon Stan’s true nature came out to play and with it came abuse that Colin did not even know he was on the receiving end of. As time went on things got worse and worse. Soon Colin does what Stan wants even though it is not what Colin wants at all.
When Stan introduces a third person into the mix, that is when things take a turn for the truly bad. But not just for Colin but for Stan as well. Now the question is, how will Colin escape Stan and everything that goes along with Stan and his manipulations?
This book as I said was not the sexy read I expected it to be. It was the opposite actually. This book definitely needs to have major trigger warnings. If I had known what to expect in this book then I may have liked it more then I did. So do not take this read lightly because it is not a fun loving read.
