Not your typical fake boyfriend romance. This one has immense depth. Love the characters and the plot surprised me a few times. Will definitely be checking out more by Lexy Timms.

Banking on Him

This fake billionaire boyfriend romance was a quick and fun read. The ending came way to quick but provides a good setup for the next book in the series.

The heart wants what the heart wants. You can help how you feel, even if you know loving your enemy is wrong. Can’t wait to see what happens between Kirk and Bethany after the first book ending with him hating her. I don’t know how she will be able to fix the situation and get him to both forgive and trust her again

I loved the narration from Peter Stapleton, he brings out the angst, humour and the chemistry between the two characters. Perfect.

Bethany's life changed completely when her father was sent to prison. When she goes to the bank, which once belonged to her parents, for a loan she never expected to meet Kirk the son of the people who sent her father go to jail. She puts a plan into action to destroy him and his family like they destroyed hers.
Kirk is instantly infatuated with Bethany when she walks into the office. She has so many debts but her business plan is thorough.
I loved to read about how Bethany and Kirk grow closer together and how they fit together. The angst was excellent and I definitely want the characters to end up together.

Kirk Sterling and Bethany Livingston

***SPOILER ALERT***

Audiobook review. Book 1 of 6 in the Billionaire Banker series. Dual POV. I enjoyed Peter Stapleton's narration. If read alone, this isn't a romance because it doesn't end with a HEA. As part of a series, it does end with lots of unanswered questions, including which family are the true criminals? Content warnings: secret identity; revenge plot; and h family has been accused of financial crimes, stripped of their wealth, and ostracized from their community.

Kirk Sterling (32) is the tall, dark-haired, green eyed VP of Sterling Investment Bank (SIB) tasked with running the West Coast SIB branches. His parents took the bank from Lloyd Livingston when Kirk was 22. Kirk's younger brother runs the East Coast branches. Kirk believes that his younger brother is his mother's favorite and that she wants him to take over SIB, not Kirk. Lloyd Livingston was just released from prison four years early, after a decade of incarceration. Bethany Livingston (27; aka Bethany Walker) blonde haired, blue-eyed, aspiring fashion designer, born in Italy, is heavily in debt from student loans, and Lloyd Livingston's daughter. The Sterling family destroyed her life when she was 17 by going after her father and destroying her family's century old banking business. Lloyd Livingston, her father, was accused of financial crimes, convicted, and incarcerated. Her mother became an alcoholic moving from man to man, not believing her husband's claims of innocence. Josh, her older brother, has also fallen on hard times and hasn't been able to assist their family. Bethany goes to SIB for a loan to start her own fashion line as a way to gain intel on the Sterling family for her father. Kirk happens to be filling in for one of SIB's loan officers and takes the meeting with Bethany. Sadly, he turns her loan down but feels a need to help her, so he takes her to lunch. The next day, she returned to inform him that she lost her apartment when her landlord found out her ex-boyfriend stole the furniture. Kirk offers his guest house. Bethany moves in. Kirk hires her to design a suit for him to wear to his cousin's wedding. Kirk's father tells him that he is ready to choose a successor for SIB but wants Kirk to settle down first. Kirk asks Bethany to be his date for his cousin's wedding. Kirk falls first, but when his mom reveals Bethany's identity, Kirk kicks her out. JP

Banking on Him
Billionaire Banker Series, Book 1
By: Lexy Timms
Narrated by: Peter Stapleton

This fast paced, unpredictable romance had me from the first chapter. Lexy Timms took me into a fake boyfriend romance and kept me listening to find out what would happen next! Bethany is on a mission. She feels her wrongly accused father needs to be exonerated. How should she go about it? Get to know the family secrets of those that took him down. Kirk meets her, and with her fake story, feels for her situation, leaving him vulnerable to her wiles. Kirk needs a date to be with his family, and Bethany agrees to go. As she builds trust and sympathy, she is slowly finding out Kirk is not the man she thought. Their feelings are building, but now she is being thrown into the midst of a life she lost. Will she be able to pull of what she needs to? Are there secrets in Kirk's family that need to be revealed? Will Kirk find out who she really is? These and other questions need the answers you will desire, and the cliffhanger has me waiting for the next book to see where it all leads.

Peter Stapleton is a new to me narrator, and he brings this gem to life. Full of voices, he provides both the female and male points of view with wonderful choices for each character. He gives just the right amount of angst and emotion to keep the story interesting and flowing. Looking forward to the next book.

Bethany's life changed completely when her father was sent to prison. Once enjoying the rich life she now has to fight just to get through the day. Her brother can't hold a job and her mother drowns her sorrows daily. When she goes to the bank, which once belonged to her parents, for a loan she never expected to meet the son of the people who made her father go to jail. She's out for revenge but will she be able to bring down someone who has been nothing but nice to her?

Kirk is instantly infatuated with Bethany when she walks into the office. She has so many debts but her business plan is thorough. He notices her passion and he admires her sketches. Kirk feels the need to help her since he's been on the wrong side of the track. He knows what it feels to make ends meet. Can he help her get back on her feet?

I loved to read about how Bethany and Kirk grow closer together and how they fit together
so perfectly. Banking on Him is an easy read and perfect for a lazy day in the sun.
Please do keep in mind that this book is the first installment in the Billionaire Banker Series and
to find out how their story evolves you have to read the complete series.

Banking on Him was the first book I've read written by Lexy Timms but I'm certain it won't be my last.

This book had so much potential. Bethany Walker gets the opportunity of a lifetime when she unexpectedly comes across the son of the people she believes destroyed her once wealthy family, framed her father and sent him to prison for a decade. Bethany decides to take this opportunity to get close to the son, Kirk Sterling, gain his trust, find out all his family's secrets and ruin them. But, as we all know, feels get in the way etc.

This book should've been a mix of Romeo and Juliet/Succession but it was so damn BLAND. I was not invested in Bethany and Kirk's love story! They had the chemistry of lint. I even daydreamed during their one big love scene which is saying a lot! I sped through this book not because it was interesting, but because I was waiting for something interesting to happen. Even the cliffhanger at the end gave...nothing. I'll probably read the rest of the series at some point...out of some morbid curiosity.

P.S: If you want to read a great romance about a heroine out for revenge may I suggest Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas.

Good book

Bethany comes to the bank for a loan for her business of designing and making clothes. She meets Kirk and puts a plan into action to destroy him and his family like they destroyed hers. Unfortunately, she falls in love with him. He finds out who she really is, helps her get an investor for her business and then throws her out of his life. Since this is the beginning of a series, I certainly hope they get their HEA but since I haven't read the complete set, I have no idea.

As a 2020 reading goal I have been trying to get through my tbr veterans and Banking on Him is one of books that has been on my tbr the longest.

In Baking on Him we follow billionaire banker Kirk Sterling and Bethany Walker, who lost all of her fortune at the hands of Kirk´s family.

This book kept me engaged, it was quick and fast paced, it was intriguing and you definitely want to know what will happen with Kirk and Bethany. The angst was excellent and I definitely want the characters to end up together.

Kirk is a gentleman, I really appreciated how he never wanted to take advantage of his position and I loved that this book didn’t normalize abuse of power dynamics.

This is the first time I have read anything from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I agree that the book was building up to something and when that something came it was over way to quickly but it is definitely a good setup for the next book.

I really don’t have anything more to say about this book, it is a solid start to a series and it is a short fast read that will keep you intrigued. I would definitely check this out if you are in the mood for a fast contemporary romance with plot twists and cliff hangers.

What a wicked web we weave when we practice to deceive...

I gave this book a 4 instead of 5 because of the unexpected cliffhanger; UGH. Revenge seldom has a pleasant outcome for all parties. Is family blind loyalty more powerful than personal relationship? As author Lexy Timms reveals more about the two families more questions are raised about which one is being truthful; could they both be hiding secrets? Has Bethany lost all chances for a relationship with Kirk?

This quick, easy read about a revenge romance kept me enchanted. It had a quick pace, there was enough drama and angst to give the plot a good twist here and there. Bethany and Kirk's interaction with each other was sometimes just as flawed as their personalities, but that made them relatable. Oh, did I mention there is a cliffhanger? So be prepared.

This started reading this and got sucked right into the story line. You get pulled into giving the characters advice in your head and yelling at them when they did stupid things. Be warned this is part of a series and leaves you on a GIANT cliffhanger.

Bethany did lie to Kirk about who she truly was and why she sought out his family. When the truth is revealed Kirk sends her own her way. He was always nice and helpful to her. This audiobook ends on a cliff hanger. Nsrrator Peter Stapleton did a great job.
