“It's beautiful, yes, but despite the night's breathtaking aura of red, something inside me says this isn't good. That I should be afraid. That I should...run.”
From that horrifying first night, now seven years later, Ruko survives best he can in the ruins of a dying nation. The United States has become a giant prison—no one’s allowed to leave—viciously quarantined after the sudden invasion of mysterious, deadly creatures. They come out when the night sky turns red...kill everything in their path...nothing can stop them. Hide and wait is the only survival plan.
Along with society, Ruko is losing hope. But after meeting Hayvin, a powerfully-driven, kind-hearted woman, he begins to find strength to fight back.
Together, Ruko and Hayvin bravely follow a dicey clue to the heart of unfathomable, gruesome evil—a choice that will delve them deeper into the Lasher nightmare than they ever could’ve imagined.
Good story. Easy read. Likable characters and good ending. Good triumphs over evil. Exciting right from the start. Don't want to put it down book. Would like to read more from this author . Also a clean book. No dirty language of .
Good story. It was a quick read from the beginning. Good characters you could cheer for. Great good over evil story. Did not want to put it down
I decided to give "Red Lashers" a read and am so glad I did. Great characters who I wanted to know more about. Ruko just wanted to be left alone until Hayvin comes to town. The Lashers are scary, violent, and do not seem to die. They have come every nine days for 7 years. I do not find many authors who find a new twist on the zombie apocalypse, but Kyle Dane did an outstanding job! It is 3;30 a.m. and I could not put his book down until I finished it. I was sad to leave his created world! Thanks for the enjoyable journey!
I really liked Red Kashers. My son recommended this book to me - knowing I have read- no joke- a thousand and more books. What is scary is that something similar could possibly happen. Sometimes I wander if most people are inherently evil. But this book tells a story of how even one person can make a difference. Written in first person, the story is about a young man who is living, and running from his past, in a literal hell as he tries to survive in a country that is now nothing more than a prison. Every nine days fearful survivors must lock themselves away or face a horrific fate. I like to think that people would band together and help each other, but personal survival makes some people as evil as the creatures that hunt them.
This book was amazing and I couldn’t put it down from the day I started until I finished it,I had to take breaks to do housework but right back to it…The President wanted to stay in office forever so he went missing while Ruko and his mom are at the store, fighting with her and giving her a hard time…When the leave the store the sky is red…That same night he loses his parents while he hides in the “hive” a place his father built in case of a robbery..That was the night his life changed for forever.. This was a great book from beginning to end with so much action and a love story too in around about way..
I must say I wasn’t sure what a Lasher was going to be…zombie, vampire, monster. Now I know. Ruko’s life has boiled down to avoiding everything and everyone. If you stay detached then you don’t suffer emotional pain. Until Hayvin walks into his life. Their journey to find the cause of the red sky leads them into a battle for the lives of all who are left alive. This is a very good book and I highly recommend reading it.
Red Lashers is more about a romance between the two protagonists than humanity standing against unbeatable monsters that appear every nine days. Personally, I would have liked a different emphasis, but the story is readable and I stuck with it to the end. I did find a number of logic problems and the story ends with some unresolved plot threads, but give Red Lashers a chance. If you like romance with your dystopian creature feature, you will enjoy the story.
I did really enjoy this! A good fun read! Something a little different but still the end of the world! Great adventure with good levels of tension & excitement! Good idea really well done, I liked the characters & will look for more by this author!
