Wally is found dead by his wife who phones Sabrina in tears. As usual the clues are few and far between and the suspects are many.
But as always Sabrina wont stop until she has cracked the case however long that takes. As the couple talk to suspects they uncover many secrets which by default means many suspects with motives. Will this be a case too far? One Sabrina and David can't solve? You will have to read or listen to find out.
Murder and Citrus Cream Cake: Mysteries of Treasure Cove Series, Book 4 is another fun "Whodunnit" cozy mystery by the ever-so-delightful duo: author Meredith Potts and narrator Carrie Burgess! While I'm sure the print and Kindle versions of this book are great, I can't seem to steer myself away from the audio for the series - so much fun to listen to! In this episode we join Sabrina again on her quest to find the killer of a recent murder case. As the story begins, Potts wastes no time at all setting the scene. Right away listeners are introduced to the characters and conflict. Sometimes when I start a new book, it takes awhile to get into the storyline - not here! I was immediately drawn into the fast-moving plot and felt suspense about what was to come, mainly due to the events being so realistic. Even though this is part of a series, it can stand alone. Whether you start with the first book or this one, I think you will really enjoy the Mysteries of Treasure Cove series!
Carrie Burgess does a nice job playing both male and female characters. She is fun to listen to as she brings the story and dialogue to life. Everything sounds completely professional in terms of the recording and production of this audiobook. There are no unnecessary pauses, white noise, or distracting/confusing parts of the text. This made for easy listening and my overall experience definitely worth it!
Murder and Citrus Cream Cake: Mysteries of Treasure Cove Series, Book 4 by Meredith Potts, narrated by Carrie Burgess is an audiobook that cozy mystery fans (and even first-time listeners) will enjoy! So far, it is my favorite in series, and I give it a rating of 5/5 stars. I'm looking forward to listening to the next in series when it is released. :-)
Thank you for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. Happy listening!
Murder and Citrus Cream Cake - Mysteries Treasure Cove Bk 3 - Written by Meredith Potts The murder of an old friend really touches Sabrina!
An old friend found murdered. His wife accused of the crime. And a sleuth struggling to discover what really happened. Sabrina Carlson finds herself navigating an emotional minefield when her friend is killed. Even worse, the prime suspect is the victim's wife. Can Sabrina hold herself together long enough to solve this case? Is the truth as heartbreaking as it seems? Or is there much more to the story than there appears to be? What did I like? Cozy mysteries are my favorite if I want to tune down my reading for a couple of days. I love the writing style and the food references with this author. Her characters are refreshing and endearing.
What will you like? Great writing with awesome storylines. Down to earth characters with lots of heart. Many descriptions and details to keep your interest in the ongoing search for the killer, plus tons of suspense and mystery! An enjoyable read with a surprising outcome. Don’t forget that great cake! I received this from the author as a member of the ARC team for an honest review with no other compensation.
Sabrina and David have finally started to relax after their last case. They have the family together again and Jessica, their 11 year old daughter, is back in school.
Wally Tuttle has been Sabrina’s friend since grammar school and is said to be a very good man. Unfortunately, Diane, Wally's wife of 5 years, suddenly finds him dead in their living room. He has been stabbed.
Who would want to harm Wally? Why was he killed? Will Sabrina and David be able to find his murderer? Where will they send the family for safety this time? Did his wife, Diane, have a motive for killing her husband? They had been heard arguing earlier, before Wally’s body was found. Will Sabrina and David ever get to enjoy that Citrus Cream Cake?
Meredith Potts has an amazing ability to write such fun, believable and family oriented books again and again. The writing is riveting and the plots are believable. The characters are enjoyable and have the same outlooks and concerns as many of us.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third book in the Mysteries of Treasure Cove series. I have not read any of the previous books in this series. This is a stand alone story and can be read and understood without having read any of the prior books although there are some references to events which occurred in prior books.
A cozy mystery involving a murder of Sabrina's friend. While the Sabrina and her detective husband interview several people in attempting to solve the mystery, the ultimate solution is pretty apparent from the beginning with a bit of a twist. I felt the dialogue was a bit stiff and some of the actions of the detective a bit odd. However, while the book did not really come to life for me, it's an easy quick straight linear cozy mystery that had a bit of humor and lightness.
As I listened to this book -- the narrator, Carrie Burgess, did a competent job.
For a small town, Treasure Cove has had it's share of tragedy! Sabrina and David are once again on the search for a murderer for none other than Sabrina's old boyfriend, Wally. I love these nugget whodunnits Meredith Potts writes. She adds a lot of humor into a devastating situation. We get to see people from the town that we have gotten to know and love, or now wonder if they should be the suspected killer! Sabrina's matter of fact tactics are one of the main things I love about this series, she spares no words, gets right to the point and has spot on instincts. I do feel bad for Jessica as she always seems to be shipped off to safety! As we get our unexpected culprit, the story plays out with full satisfaction, a great box of chocolate and delicious citrus cream cake. Carrie Burgess again gives this story all the fun and thrills to make it an enjoyable listen.
As usual Meredith stories are joyful and leaves you with a taste of more. I took 2 stars off because of two reasons: 1) Too much explanations making it feels like a book for children. 2)Sum illegal parts in the story, like when you find a body in your house you have to call 911 not your friend which is a police man, in fact the first thing that he would have said is hang up and call 911. And a police man is not a taxi driver it’s illegal for him to drive anyone to a crime seen. And that the short list of the wrong in this story. On the other hand it’s a story and a fun one at that, I sure have enjoyed it and I do recommend this book for people who like lite reading and fun books. Carrie Burgess narration is perfect as usual.
Even so that I got this audiobook for free I believe that my review is honest.
This is another sweet murder mystery by Meredith Potts that you will enjoy. The only downside is the story is short so you meet a lot of characters in a short space of time, the good thing is you have meet many of them before in previous books as there are a lot of recurring characters even previous suspects that aren't to happy. Sabrina needs to tell the truth from the lies in this mystery when a friend is killed but with everybody pointing the finger at someone else things get tricky. Was it the wife, the ex wife or the lover, each having there own motive everybody is under suspicion. I like the narrator think she does a good job with the voices.
I could really go for a piece of citrus cream cake! These book titles and to make me hungry as do the descriptions of the delicious food inside the book. The murder mystery is a fairly straightforward whodunnit that makes for a quick and pleasant read. Nothing to spoil your appetite in this book!
The narrator of the audiobook has a pleasant voice and is easy to understand. Her slight Canadian accent adds a little interest, and since it’s the only accent she does, that’s probably a good thing. Unfortunately all her characters sound about the same.
Another great book from Meredith Potts! I just love this series and can't wait to read the next book in the series. I really enjoy all of the books from Meredith Potts. They grab me from the very beginning and keep me guessing until the very end. The characters are likeable and believable. I enjoy cozy mysteries which are good clean books. No gore or bad language. If you like a great clean mystery then this book and series is for you. Thank you Meredith Potts for all of your books.
This book continues Ms. Potts' small town crime series. Another murder has been discovered, and it is up to the lovable, crime-fighting duo to solve the crime. Dead end after dead end eventually leads to the solving of this crime. Such a shame that this small town keeps having such horrendous crimes committed within it. But, the food descriptions in the book make one's mouth water!
I was blessed with a free copy of this book, and I have chosen of my own volition to share my review with you!
I have enjoyed this series. Another murder close to Sabrina starts out the story. David and she were surprised by some of the facts that turned up. There were worries that they would lose friendships as they investigated. I also really like the personal connections of the characters as they grow through the series.
Once again, I enjoyed the narration by Carrie Burgess. She altered the voices so that you could distinguish male and female, and differences in age.
I received this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Life in Treasure Cove is never quiet for long. From a sibling fight that nearly gotten out of hand but David and Sabrina is there before it escalate out of control. Things do not remain that simple as a resident is found murder as his former ex is release from parole early due to good behavior.
She seems the obvious suspect but did she? With no real clues they must solve the case before they end up with a serial killer on the loose. A quick cozy read.
Sabrina and David have another murder case in Treasure Cove. This time it is a friend of Sabrina is found stabbed to death in his home and his wife is the prime suspect. Wally Tuttle and Sabrina have been friends since grade school.Wally's former ex was released early from prison for good behavior. Did she kill him? Was it someone else? Sabrina and David need to solve this case before someone else is killed. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story.
Detectives in a small town really have a hard time interviewing suspects! Who murdered the victim? The ex wife just out of prison, the current wife, the new lover, or is there a surprise suspect? What a mess! And the investigative partner is is the detective's non-LEO wife because there is no town budget for another detective, and this really makes for some good reads! Carrie Burgess is excellent as narrator.
Meredith Potts has done it again. David and Sabrina take care of the town of Treasure Cove to keep it safe with their lighthearted detective work.Sabrina is a sweets eater and the descriptions of the sweets make you hungry. I love they are clean books. The characters are believable and the narration is good. The narration kept you wanting more. Wally Tuttle is found dead by his wife. Sabrina solves the murder you won't know till the end who did it. This book can be a standalone book.
A childhood friend has been murdered and Sabrina has promised his wife that she will catch his killer. It is hard to stay focused when dealing with grief but Sabrina and her husband, Detective David Carlson, are determined to keep that promise. The only problem is that the clues may point in a direction they don’t want to go.
This is another excellent cozy mystery by Meredith Potts. Her books bring me hours of great reading.
Sabrina and David are solving another murder. Only this time it is personal, the victim is a friend. This series just keeps getting better with each new story. Love how the characters keep growing and evolving. Another home run, be sure to read this book. Highly recommend it to all cozy mystery lovers. Cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
I really enjoy this series. Sabrina and Dave are on the hunt for the killer of one of Sabrina’s friends, Wally Tuttle. As they investigate they uncover lots of cheating on spouses but no murderer. They’re going to have to dig deep to find this killer!
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
Murder and Citrus Cream Cake was a great read by Meredith Potts. This was book three in the Mysteries of Treasure Cove series. Sabrina finds herself investigating another murder when her old friend is murdered. Unfortunately her friend, his wife, is accused. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by Meredith Potts.

My fifteenth short read/listen from author Meredith Potts, A cute, well-written & enjoyable clean cozy mystery, the third in this series. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of the narrator. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018)
Book three in this series by Meredith Potts and I'm already hooked but then all of her series hook me if you love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that keeps you turning the page then these are a must read
I’m really enjoying this series and the characters. The plots are very well done and I’m really looking forward to the next book. Thank you for a great series.
When an old friend turns up dead and his wife is a suspect, Sabrina and her hubby are on the case. An interesting who-dun-it that will keep you guessing without too much blood and violence. Return appearances by many of the series earlier villains.
Wow, what a day for Sabrina. She finds out her friend cheated on his wife, then the same friend is murdered and who do you think the #1 suspect is? The wife. Sabrina HAS to figure this one out fast (all the while praying it wasn't her friend's wife).
When a philandering husband is found stabbed to death in his living room the possible suspects all point to each other. The first wife, the current wife, the latest girlfriend, her husband, and a coworker who lost a promotion to the deceased all look, and act, guilty. Clean language and no sex.
Sabrina and her husband are tasked with finding the killer of a family friend.Could his wife actually be the killer? This was a good read.Carrie Burgess was a fine narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Hard case and personal when a friend is murdered and saying wife did.it. How can Sabrina be there for the wife and solve too. Good fast and interesting plot. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
Sabrina and Dave have the hard job of finding their old friends killer, even having to suspect their friends wife , during the investigation they realize that Wally the friend that was murdered has more skeletons in his closet then they knew.
