This is a touching and exciting book for kids. It's about Elmer Elevator who saved a baby dragon stranded on Wild Island. The poor dragon had been made a prisoner by the ferocious animals living on the island. They had nothing to eat but lollipops and tangerines, so Baby Dragon ate the peels and Elmer ate the fruit of the tangerines. Finally, Elmer packed sixty-nine tangerines and they set out for home. Of course, Elmer rode on the dragon's back, and they flew over miles and miles of ocean until Baby Dragon could fly no more. Luckily, they came upon an island inhabited by canaries, and landed there. King Ca XI was plagued by curiosity, and it had spread to all the canaries. Read this book and find out what the king's curiosity was all about and how Elmer and the dragon helped them and still got home in time for his Elmer's dad's birthday!
