A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Beginning #1-2, escritor Andy Mangels, calificación 3/5 estrellas.

Being not finished (issue #3 has never been published), a judgement on the story itself can be just incomplete but, from what is glimpsed through the first two issues, the story could have been interesting enough. The pity of this comic is the way it is drawn, which is miserable indeed, and which makes one guess at how Innovation (the publisher) could have arrived to be the fourth publisher in the US in the early nineties of last century after Marvel, DC and Dark Horse. All in all, this is a forgettable comic book because of its drawings.
I would be lying in saying that I fully understand what I have read, the story tries to delve into Freddy's past by showing some of his background, but all condensed into about 60 pages around the vision without introspection by a girl who has constant flashbacks. . Quick narrative that never manages to reach the right climax. (less)
Andy Mangels did his homework here, pulling together contradictory stories of Freddy's origin into a cohesive narrative with characters from any Nightmare film/episodes.
The main story being set after Freddy's Dead movie. I assume if it was finished perhaps it would have Freddy return somehow.
The story could have been kinda interesting, but they only published two of the three planned issues, so I guess we’ll never know. The artwork is pretty bland too. I’d say just skip it.
