An awesome book. Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author.

Monica felt out of place in Monterey, but she needed to talk to Nessa, a matchmaker, while Nessa might be feeling she “owed” her a favor. Monica had put herself at risk to help Nessa’s adopted sister, Lia, get her sealskin back from Nikolai Wilder (see “The Bear’s Matchmaker”) in a situation with some Alphas who wanted to rule the ocean coast line and beaches. So Monica felt she deserved Nessa’s help now. Monica had wanted Oscar Torres to notice her for 8 years now! She knew they were meant for one another. So she was going to slip in a fake profile for Nessa to match to her. Pushing over the water cooler was her distraction while she planted the file. Then Nessa would set up a date with him for her. But she put the folder aside and made no recommendations yet as Monica left.
Alpha Nikolai Wilder loved the farmland all around him. But his father had only wanted them to spread their influence over the coastland. He had actually obtained the sealskin, but the selkie Lia ruined everything and he failed. His pack blamed him and things were difficult. Even when helping another packmate, he had to stop his work and fight a disrespectful member who sought power.
Nessa called Monica and told her she had successfully set things up for her. She was so happy to be meeting her Alpha Oscar at the expensive restaurant. At last she would have what she wanted! But she was led instead to Nikolai, and he saw the look of dismay on her face! Before she could turn away and leave, he had taken her hand and kissed it. Monica ordered the most expensive item on the menu. She didn’t like seeing him so happy after all the mess they had endured recently because of his actions. But for every insult, he was genuinely nice, even when she saw the pain she had inflicted. When she looked at his handsome face and smile, her stomach flipped. What was happening to her?
As the two were eating, Monica stiffened when she saw shifters enter noisily. Nikolai saw them too and rose, kissing her cheek and going to the host to pay for her dinner. Then he walked out rather than cause her any embarrassment. Monica actually missed Nikokai. He had been different, laughing and playful actually. She realized her date was the most fun she had experienced in -- years! Would she give him another chance after all? Would he ever get his idiot pack back in line instead of them feeling they somehow deserved the coastal property they had done nothing to merit and blaming their Alpha for not giving it to them? Would Nikolai find his HEA with a mate who would love and respect him?
I enjoy this series, and this was another good story. I really like the change in Nikolai and felt for the difficult task he had with his hateful pack. Good story line, good pacing, good character development – I think the reader will enjoy this one!

Monica went to matchmaker Nessa to trick her into matching her with the man she wanted...her pack Alpha. She didn't expect to walk into a restaurant and find Nikolai waiting for her. Nikolai knows its not the best time to claim his mate but he can't stop wanting to be with Monica. Nikolai just wants to put the mistake he made in stealing the sealskin behind him but his pack is being angered by rebels amongst the pack Nikolai and Monica play pranks back and forth as an uprising within his pack starts. Nikolai is unsure how he wants to put a stop to everything going on in his pack he is at his breaking point when his home is burned down. Monica knows that her place is with Nikolai and she will do whatever she has to in order to help bring his pack in order with him. However neither counted on big a threat they would be facing?
This is an amazing story once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Monica and Nikolai is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this to any book lover.

Time has passed since the selkie skin incident but not all troubles have been erased. Nikolai is a bear with a problem pack. He is also a bear with troubles within him and his soul. He was always primed by his father to be the future alpha but left him with the task of continuing the legacy his father wanted. But that isn;t what Nikolai thinks he wants. Monica is a panther shifter and the one to help the selkie retrieve her skin. She has harbored a crush on Oscar the alpha of her clan. But he doesn;t even see her. So she goes to the dating agency and with manages to put Oscar;s made up file in with the others on Nessa;s desk. On her first date she is totally surprised to see not Oscar but Nikolai. Somehow the trick gift she used to help win back the silkie skin becomes the beginning of running pranks between her and Nikolai. Their lives become very complicated as each do a lot of inner soul searching as well as the danger that is brought to them.
Fantastic story and characters that was fun to revisit! This story will keep you enthralled to the last page!

This is a well written, entertaining paranormal romance featuring characters we first met in The Bear’s Matchmaker. This time around it’s Monica, a panther shifter who seeks the aid of Nessa, the shifter matchmaker. Convinced her Alpha is meant for her, Monica’s surprised to be matched with Nikolai, the Alpha from a rival pack. Their relationship begins light-hearted based on some pranks revolving around a certain sex toy. Despite their obvious attraction, both are dealing with impending pack and personal issues and Monica decides that a romance is impossible. Too bad both their were-animals think otherwise. When a threat to the pack emerges will Nikolai be able to unite everyone in solidarity or has pack morale slipped so low that he’s on his own? How can Monica join in his future, if he can’t get his present in order? This story delivers some laughter, drama, intrigue, shifter action and some very steamy scenes!

He was feeling all was lost until Monica. Although she was apart of another pack he was certan there was something about her that was making his heart feel things he never felt before. In this book we meet Monica and Nikolia. Monica knows who she wants but what she doesn't know is that what you want and what you need can be two different things. Now the dreams they all had are no more. He feels the unrest more and more everyday. He knows this can't go on forever. Can they get what they want or will they both get what they truly need?
This is an amazing story. It has it's share of ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say that this story will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Monica was changed into a Panther Shifter and struggled to cope but in recent years came to think she was in love with her Alpha. She had pranked the Bear Shifter Alpha with a pizza box with the added extra of a twelve inch black dildo and after the matchmaker had set her up for a date with him he got his own back. He swiped her keys left the dildo on the dashboard locked the car and taken the keys with him.She get her own back with plastic wrap and spray paints on his truck. This give and take brings them closer but Nicholai has serious problems with his bear and is reluctant to bring Monica into it.A shifter story to relax and enjoy.

With Nikolai’s pack in turmoil he isn’t pushing her too much, he know Monica is his mate. When she is in danger Nikolai is pushed to make a decision his pack or his mate?

Her True Alpha mate picks up where The Bears Matchmaker ends. Monica has a plan, Nessa owes her and she is going to use her to snag her Alpha as her mate. She is surprised to find her date is the Alpha of the inland pack, Nikolai Wilder.
Nic's life and pack are falling apart. When Nessa sets him up with Monica, it's just the diversion he needs. Monica is surprised she and her panther are drawn to Nic. Nic is drawn to Monica, trouble is brewing in his pack and doesn't have time for a relationship. Monica and Nic can't seem to stay away from each other. Their practical joke war is pulling them closer together.
A fast paced and steamy romance. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from Booksprout. I love Emilia's books. They are an automatic buy me.

I love Emilia Hartley’s shifter stories they are always entertaining. This is the story of Monica and Nikolai, Monica wasn’t born a cat shifter she was attacked long ago but Oscar had found her and he took her to his pack to teach her how to control her cat. Nikolai is now the alpha of his pack since his father died and he was trying to do the work his father wanted like taking over the other territories but Nikolai failed and some of his pack were challenging him. That’s all I’m going to give you guys but there is so much more to this story there’s action, danger, betrayal, suspense, love, romance and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. A fantastic story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Emilia Hartley's novel, Her True Alpha Mate, is an enticing story, set in Mid Coast California. Not only is location a major part of the Matchmaker series, but having a recognizable setting gives the characters a sense of reality, even though they’re shifters. As the second book of the series, this focuses on Monica and her hopes to be mated to her Alpha. We met the characters in the first of the series, The Bear’s Matchmaker. Monica's machinations to succeed on her quest are a delight to read. I’ve always enjoyed a story with humor and heat- this has both. Of course, the course we set ourselves on is not always true but being a romance novel be assured of a happy ending.

Unfortunately, Nessa, the matchmaker matches her to another, alpha Nikolai who is a shifter too but of another animal. She is a panther shifter like her alpha Oscar. Once Nick meets Monica he knows that she is his mate and it is a bad time to have found her. His pack is in revolt and it is dangerous to be around him. She thinks they will have some fun sexy times then she will return to Oscar.

Intriguing Shifter Tale. Nikolai seems to have lost control of his pack since his loss to Miles. He needs help finding out the type of Alpha that he really is, not just an echo of his father. Monica is sure she is in love with Oscar, but when she goes to Nessa, the matchmaker, for help, she finds herself at a restaurant with Nikolai. Each tries to out-prank the other and laughter abounds. When chaos and revolt threaten his pack, will Nikolai prove to himself that he is strong enough to be the Alpha he desires to be? Will Monica follow her heart and choose Nikolai? Great storyline, strong main characters, flaws and all, with a twist. I really enjoyed this book.

Monica always thought that she didn't need love as long as she was her Alpha's mate. Nikolai's pack is struggling after a failed attempt to expand their land. Sometimes love and fate have other plans. Will Monica accept that the future she had planned isn't in the cards? Will Nikolai realize that being his own man is okay?
Loved this enemies-lovers romance. I loved how both of these characters weren't necessarily looking for what they found in each other, but it worked out the way it should. I loved Monica's tenacious spirit and how she was willing to fight for her love and man. I loved how Nikolai was determined to run his pack without the fear they had faced in the past. Great read!

I loved Monica's tenacious spirit and how she was willing to fight for her love and man. I loved how Nikolai was determined to run his pack without the fear they had faced in the past. Great read!

fast funny full of action
A bear and a panther walked into a restaurant …...with all the jokes and pranks played in this book I am surprised it didn't ( quite ) start with a variation on an old joke. Light hearted with more than a touch of drama and lots of romance this is a very fast paced and dramatic story that I just couldn't put down. If you have read the earlier book you will already know most of the characters , even though they may surprise you in this book , but it can still be read as a stand alone. A well written book with surprises from start to finish

Emilia is my go to author for shifter romance and in this one she has excelled yet again. This is the second book in the matchmaking series involving the bear matchmaker and the southern shifters. This is a Monica and Nikolai's story. Once again we have characters that you can't help but fall in love with We have humour and angst as these two who have so much history (see the Bear's Matchmaker book one in this series) They should have nothing in common but everytime she tried to turn away he would allow it and met her snark with charm will he wear her down so she admits what is between them

have to start by saying that the humor in this book jumped off the pages. It was so refreshing. Monica and Nikolai pranked the $hit out of each other. It was wonderful. Now, down to business. Both of these characters were lost, looking for somewhere to belong. To feel not just useful and safe. They didn't realize that they also needed to feel loved. An Alpha with his true mate at his side, can accomplish anything he sets his sights on. I can't wait for the next book to see if Nessa can hold on to the restart of her perfect record.

A really good shifter romance.💞🐻🐾💞
I really enjoyed reading about Monica and Nikolai. Monica is so focused on becoming the alpha of her pack's mate that she almost misses her true mate. Nikolai has so much going on that should be keeping him busy but he can't ignore his feelings for his mate, Monica. They have a really unique connection that is full of laughter, pranks, passion, and love. The "object" that is the focus of their pranks cracks me up to no end! 💞💓🤣🔥💞
This is part of the Matchmaker series and can be read as a standalone but it's much better when read in order.💕

I had so many laugh out loud moments with this book. The prank war that was on through out the book between Monica and Nikolai was the best. In "The Bear's Matchmaker", the portrayal of Nikolai made me not like him. In this book we get to find out his back story and now I understand why he is the way he was in Matchmaker.
Monica was very funny and I loved the hidden strength she ended up showing. She was innocent enough to feel in love with one person but mature enough to realize that that is not where her destiny lies.
I really can not wait to see what happens in the next book.

Monica has been wanting to catch the attention of her alpha, Oscar. She has a plan to get a date arranged through Nessie, the matchmaker. Nessie arranges a date alright but not with Oscar, with a rival alpha, Nikolai Wilder. Nik is having some rough times with his pack right now and Monica is a wonderful distraction. The pack politics make this a really exciting story. There is a dark side to everything when a rogue tries to take over the pack. But, Monica is right there with Nik. So good. Monica made me laugh and Nik was really a sweetheart. I loved it. I volunteered to read an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.

Read in order or as a stand-alone, it doesn’t matter with this book – it’s great. Yes, a few references are made to ‘The Bear’s Matchmaker’ but there is enough substance to the reference that it does not take from this book.
With wonderfully charismatic characters and a great setting, this is a lovely romance with a paranormal, shape-shifting, edge. A recommendation from me to any lovers of romance, the paranormal, and easy-to-lose-yourself-in-books.
Well done, Ms Hartley, another super romance for your fans.

Once again a matchmaker pairs the most unlikely shifters. The story revolves around realizing what you think you want may not be what you need. Packs are disturbed by previous events. Changes are required and some are fueled by unsuspected sources. The book is subtly dramatic and entertaining. Of course it is steamy with the expected HEA.
I would recommend this entertaining story. However, IMHO, you need to read the first book in the series to get some of the references.

This book brings us Monica and Nikolai's story as a continuation of the matchmaking service provided to the southern California shifters from The Bear's Matchmaker.
