☆ I received an ARC via The Book Garden PR in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆

3.5 stars!!

Having never heard of these authors before, my interest first got piqued by the gorgeous cover and the synopsis blurb about a MMA fighter.

Luckily though, for a novel written by two authors, everything flowed and felt as if voiced by one.

Making it Right was about love, second chances, and redemption.

Drew "The Juggernaut" Warner is an up and coming MMA fighter, looking to redeem his surmountable loss and win a championship, while also planning a future after fighting.

Nina Osbourne, on the other hand, is a feisty and forthright blonde firecracker, who is at a standstill in her career and in life, and works at a storage facility company once owned by her grandmother to keep her gran's legacy alive.

Both main leads meet after Drew's late mom's possessions are burglarized and are thrown into a conspiracy when trying to uncover the culprits, while confronting a simmering attraction budding between the two of them.

And when Nina's life is threatened, can they unfold the mystery behind the robbery, while keeping alive?

Will Drew ever win his chance to quench a MMA championship?

And will he and Nina ever rectify pangs of their pasts to pave way for a future? Together?

A great book collaboration between Margaret Madigan && Merissa McCain. I loved the slow building romance and rapport between Nina and Drew and how mature and level headed Drew was and how virtuous Nina was.

Both were wonderful leads, even if poor Drew did get put into quite a pickle at times, with Nina always diving head first into situations without thinking about how dangerous it was. *poor guy. what did he get himself into? lol*

All in all, an impressive read!!

Making It Right is a wonderfully intriguing and delightfully fun story that will easily capture your heart and tickle your imagination. I had no idea what to expect, and I loved it all the more for going into it completely blind. This is a wonderful story that will have you laughing out loud, crying with tears of joy, and coming undone by the intensity of its beauty. Don’t ever underestimate the power of a meticulously crafted work of art.

Drew is singularly focused on his MMA career. He has a list of goals to fulfill, and nothing will get in his way. His carefully planned life leaves no room for chance or the unknown. Nothing can sway him from his current path after all he has everything he needs. Beware to those who think they need nothing deep or challenging in their life. It’s at times like that when life throws you the biggest curve ball ever. In Drew’s case that curve ball’s name is Nina and she makes him question everything he ever thought he wanted. Nina never saw Drew coming, but once they crash into each other, neither can deny that things will never be the same again. Will Drew be able to see that Nina is exactly what he needs before it’s too late, or will Nina tire of his narrow view of life and leave before they even have a chance to truly see just how good they are together?

Nina is an unabashed breath of fresh air for Drew’s stale life, and he has no idea what to think about her. She literally crashes into his life leaving him dazed and confused. I loved how much of a hurricane she is to his impeccably neat and tidy world. Watching these two meld and come together was hilarious and brilliant! Drew was completely captivated by her, and I loved how unapologetic she was about who she was and how she felt about him. They were the perfect balance of order and chaos, and I couldn’t get enough of them.

Margaret Madigan and Merissa McCain have blown me away with their ingenious blend of humor, romance, and mystery. I loved how they made it feel so effortless, and its beauty radiated from every page. This was such an astounding journey to be able to enjoy and experience. I know the rest of this series will be just as wonderful!

I love the opportunity to read novels by authors that I have never read before, so getting two new authors in this book was a delight. Throw in the fact that the book is MMA based and I surrender now!!
The story is a superb tale of taking chances and learning to not only give but find redemption. It was about learning to love and allowing love back into your life when fate gives you the chance to have what you missed out on first time around.
Drew is a fighter – building a name for himself in the MMA world, aiming high with the championship firmly in his sights. But while he is focused on his career in the ring, he is also acutely aware of the fact that life after MMA has to come into consideration and I liked the fact that the authors included this in the story – showing a resolution and a deft touch to reality.
Drew meets Nina, when he is the victim of a crime, and a despicable one at that – his late mother’s effects are stolen, perhaps had they known his profession, it may have been a deterrent but I couldn’t help but initially think that, there might have been more to that train of thought than I was initially aware of.
After all he did have a championship to win. But was I right … well you need to read it to see if I have an over active imagination or not!
But what I do know is that there isn’t a chance that he will let it lie - he is determined to find out who did it.
Nina works at her grandmothers storage facility, not exactly a glamorous career choice but she doesn’t really know what she wants , so for the time being this fills a gap in her day. But when a sexy as sin Drew enters her life, she may just have found something a bit better to get her teeth stuck into.
Nina tries to help him in his quest and between the two of them there is some serious chemistry in the air.
I loved the timid build up that the authors gave to their relationship and that they allowed me as the reader to watch them evolve, it felt realistic and together they had an air of normalcy about them.
There are a number of twists and turns in this book that I just didn’t see coming and some that I thought I saw but that disappeared into a cloud of smoke, when the writers worked their own magic. I love it when a book grabs my attention and ignites my imagination and this did both of those.
I wanted to work out what exactly was going on and what the burglary was all about because the sleuth in me just knew that there was more to it than it initially appeared – I suppose I just wanted Drew to have his justice… But would that be in the court house or in the ring?
Were the events in his life connected and were the threat on Nina’s life enough to get him to back off or would that rile him up even more?
There were so many questions and I LOVED IT!!!!

Making it Right by Margaret Madigan/Merissa McGain was a great 5 star read.
Romance, Hot Alpha

I was pulled right in and couldn’t put it down.

I love a book with twists and turns and this one delivers ten fold. The writers really pulled me into the story and kept my attention. I loved Nina’s spunkiness and Drew’s banter with his team mates.

This isn't a book you want to miss. The romance is hot, the love scenes are hotter.

Reviewed on behalf of A Book Lover’s Emporium book blog.

This is the first MMA fighter book I have read and I have been seriously sucked into this genre of books. Talk about alpha male! Cue swooning!

Drew Warner is an up and coming MMA fighter who has set his sights firmly on the big league and the championship title. He has steely determination and knows exactly where he is going and what he wants to do even when his career is over.

Nina Osborne is a huge fan of MMA and cannot believe that she gets to meet one of her favourite fighters but is shocked by Drew “The Juggernaut” Warner’s behaviour towards her. Granted he has been the victim of a burglary along with other customers at the storage facility which Nina owns but still he could have been nicer – it wasn’t her fault!

Since the police are not taking this string of burglaries seriously enough for her liking, Nina decides to investigate the crimes herself so as to help the victims she feels responsible for. Drew is trying to focus on his career and could do without the distractions that Nina is causing but she has gotten under his skin with her recklessness and he cannot understand for the life of him why.

I really did love this book. It was a fun and easy read that did keep me guessing to the end with the thriller aspect to it which was woven in seamlessly. The MMA fight scenes were very detailed and I liked this aspect as it shows the authors have done their homework in making the book as authentic as possible.

This is book one in the Tap Zone series but appears to be a standalone novel and I cannot wait to read the next one exploring other members of the fight team which Drew is a member of.

3.5 - 4 stars

Drew Warner is an MMA fighter who is completely focused on the championship title. After losing a particularly brutal fight, he gets a phone call from Nina, owner of the storage facility where he keeps all the mementoes he has left of his parents, to tell him that the facility has been burgled.

Nina’s first interaction with one of her favourite MMA fighters is not great. He’s completely furious with her for letting her facility be broken into and the loss of his precious items. His injuries take their toll and Nina helps him out and calls his friend to collect him. When he returns to apologise and tidy up his unit, he takes his first good look at Nina and feels the first prickles of attraction to her.

Nina, a self-confessed adrenaline junkie, becomes impatient with the burglary investigation and puts herself in danger by doing a Nancy Drew, and trying to solve the case herself. Somehow, she insinuates herself into Drew’s life and he starts to feel responsible and protective of her. Drew finds himself simultaneously drawn to her, sexually and emotionally, while trying to distance himself so he can focus on his main goal.

This was quite a fun, easy, mystery read – although the actual MMA fight scenes were quite detailed and I skimmed through these bits. Nina is a spunky and spirited character. Drew is gorgeous and a decent guy, and I enjoyed the banter he has with his teammates at his gym.

Making It Right
Tap Zone Series #1
Margaret Madigan & Merissa McCain

Hot MMA fighter and a petite firecracker storage owner, not your typical couple for a romance, but this two will put so much love and passion to this story you will not want to miss it.

Nina is facing a nightmare when her storage units were burglarised and her customers are not happy with her, especially Drew but the things she hasn't realized he is her favorite MMA fighter and having him face to face is making this a little difficult.

Drew had just had to face a loss in his latest fight not only did he has a horrible concussion he just found out his storage unit he's renting has been broken into. The thing he never expected is having to deal with the owner.

Nina and Drew will have to spend time together, neither one expected to end up being with each other so much, now the question is will they be able to handle their unspoken animalistic attraction or will they be forever uncomfortable.

I am a huge fan of MMA stories and this one was better than anything I had previously read. The constant pushing from this two characters will make it so much interested you will not want to miss this incredibly good story.

I can't wait to continue reading this new series. If this is an indication of how good it will be then am counting the days until I can get my hands in the other stories.

WOW I was pleasantly surprised. These two ladies write so well together you will never realize that there is two voices writing. It was as if they were in sync which made for a fun and interesting read. I loved the characters as they are so multifaceted and real to life. Even the secondary characters jumped off the page. The undeniable attraction between Nina and Drew was so hot. The banter was LOL as I did this often throughout the whole book. Nina is a very strong and independant woman so when Drew enters her life due to circumstances that were not favorable the tension between the two is so thick at times you could cut it with a knife. Nina was not used to having someone tell her what to do and that did not go over well.
Drew had a future he was planning trying to rise to the top of the MMA Charts and School was not expecting to fall for the spitfire that Nina was but fall is what happened she entered his world and turned it upside down.
The world created was so vivid and description the characters were so well developed it was as though they were real to life flaws and all. I am looking forward to the next installment in the Tap Zone Series.

Here's the deal:

Marking it Right was simply RIGHT. Cliche, I know, but true nonetheless. Did I want to slap the heroine a couple of times because I thought she was putting herself in unnecessary danger? Of course, and I loved the fact that Drew was feeling the same way at times! Drew and Nina didn't meet under the best of times, and Drew, at first, was a complete ass. But that's what made falling in love with him so much better. He evened out, and the authors did a good job smoothing his harshness out quickly.

I loved their banter, and Nina's way of bulldozing through any opposition, including the heroes, with her own sense of what's right. It's because of how Nina is that these two get a chance to click. Hell, Drew would have tried everything in his power to complete the gorgeous woman if she hadn't kept stealing into his life in different way.

This isn't a book you want to miss. The romance is hot, the love scenes are hotter, and any guy that knows how to throw a punch, perfectly, is always a plus in my book. (Of course, I've been in the cage, so that might have something to do with it!)
