Hardship going on the Oregon Trail, was very well portrayed by the author. In those times, all one could do was put one foot in front of the other. Grace was lucky to have people that would help her, for most had more than they expected or could do on the trail. To find a place that needed a housekeeper and look after a young girl, was fortunate for her. In these times you did what was necessary. One always hope when one become widow as just an early age. That she could find love and a family again. Good account and enjoyable to read
This Western historical romance was a delightful surprise! The story was sweet and heartwarming without sacrificing the romantic tension, although a few extra chapters could have further developed the buildup. The characters felt genuine and relatable, with a good amount of depth and complexity. I especially appreciated the author's ability to create believable characters who were both kind and flawed. The emotional depth of the story had me tearing up at times. I read in one day. Highly recommended for fans of the genre!
I found another author who writes clean romances. It's so great to find this author.. she's written up a great story with romance, heartbreak & joy. Josh's daughter Janet was quite the character. The author did a wonderful job portraying an angry, and heartbroken young girl finally finding joy with her dad's new housekeeper/wife. I know everyone will enjoy the book.
