She was everything he wasn’t allowed have.

Isla Eriksen was the girl next door, my best friend’s little sister, the girl he warned me never to touch. Sometimes rules are hard to stick to. Over the years I tried to stay away, but when she needed me the most I was there for her and all the rules I stuck by went out the window. Now I have a secret life she doesn’t know about and if I tell her I know I will lose her forever.

He was everything she couldn’t have.

Finn Connolly, the golden haired boy I lost my virginity to, the world famous rock star, a well-known man whore and my brother’s best friend. I told him to pursue his dreams when we were younger. I was right beside him as he and the boys from my childhood became super stars. I fought the chemistry between us for years, I tried to move on. I tried to love another but he broke my heart. Now I’m back at square one and we can’t seem to keep our hands off each other. Unfortunately, first love and raw chemistry isn’t enough for him to choose me over loyalty to my brother.

ARC received from author for an honest review

I always knew from the other books that Isla (I love this name. It was my Nan's name and much underused!) and Finn's story was a complicated one, however, Suddenly Trouble was so, so much more than I had pictured in my head.

I have always wanted this pair to be together as this series has progressed, and we are taken on quite a journey to get here today.

I mean, what an
[image error]
we are taken on.

I loved that we got past and present views of Finn, Isla and the Dirty Texas boys. It was amusing seeing their teenage, horny selves .

I won't lie, I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Finn throughout this book. I mean, he says he wants Isla but then does things that make me want to throw my Kindle at his head! I loved him, but like Isla, I didn't like him at times.

As much as I wanted our lovelies to be together all the time, their relationship was at times I felt toxic and I was glad they were apart. They needed the time apart to really be together if that makes sense?

I also adored seeing the other DT guys and their gals.

I ran the whole gamut of emotions as this story of family, evolving relationships, of love (in all its forms)

I love the Isla finally kicks the DT boys to the kerb to go out on her own work wise. I mean, I know we would all love to be surrounded by rock stars all the time, but she needed more.

To me, this is the best of the Dirty Texas stories -I mean, I have adored them all, but this one just had that little more. I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated and I got angry. But in the end I got my HEA!

Ms Low has made these characters feel like part of my family and I am going to miss them when they are gone!

I absolutely had to re-read the series before getting into Suddenly Trouble!

First off, I love the rocker genre. Secondly, I love the Dirty Texas series by JA Low, and she captured their archetype perfectly: rock hard, party hard and be exceptionally free with their sexual favours! I’ve read every book up to this new release, and I absolutely had to go back to the beginning and re-read everyone of them again in preparation for Finn and Isla’s story.

And theirs is the one I’ve waited the most for, and yet it was the one that I struggled with the most. My heart was broken for them, and though the love was apparent between them, there was something more than a huge possessive big brother standing in their way. Even though each of the books in this series can be read as stand-a-lones, the relationships of the previous couples are also built upon in each subsequent book, just as we’ve seen glimpses of Finn and Isla’s burgeoning relationship in the books up till now. And, I’ve struggled with their on and off again secretive get togethers, and Finn’s continual hooking up with groupies really made me angry with him.

Suddenly Trouble is also a little different in that it goes right back to even before the beginning of Dirty Texas to where Isla and Finn first lay eyes on each other, and Oscar puts his little sister off limits. This is the history of the boys and their build up to where they are now, before Evan met Sienna, and they all slowly became couples, and, just as I’m about to throw my tablet in frustration at Finn’s man-whoring ways, JA Low opens his secrets up to us, and I was hooked. Then I found out about who was really holding the key to Finn staying away and why, I felt gutted for them both. Absolutely and totally devastated......my heart broke again.

There is also a huge helping of hot goings on in this book as with the others in this series. And, with the visits to The Paradise Club, there’s lots of pleasure to be had, so if high heat is your bag, you will love it. The series isn’t finished yet, and I look forward to the next one. 4.5 Stars.

❤️🌼🔥FINN AND ISLA....FINALLY!!!❤️🌼🔥
I wanted to, no I HAD to re-read the whole series again, before I read SUDDENLY TROUBLE, and I’m so glad I did....with all of the other characters from the previous books in this book, too, it also helped me remember their backstories and enjoy reading about their lives and how they all fit together and how they all ended up together...SO HOT!!❤️🌼🔥
SUDDENLY TROUBLE is Finn’s and Isla’s story, and I wanted to say “FINALLY!” I, along with everyone else who has read this series have wanted to know about these two characters...We have all known they have been in love with each other from the beginning, so why couldn’t they be together? Why was her big brother, Oscar, SO adamantly against his best friend and his little sister being together? And, HOW did he not see what was right in front of his face? SUDDENLY TROUBLE answers those questions and it’s NOTHING like I would have ever guessed....IT’S HOT!!❤️🌼🔥
For the best experience and understanding of this book, I suggest everyone begin at the beginning, SUDDENLY DIRTY...Get to know ALL of the Dirty Texas characters....Read about their adventures at The Paradise Clubs...and how they all found their “ONES”...This is a HOT series....❤️🌼🔥
In SUDDENLY TROUBLE, JA LOW took us all the way back to the beginning of Dirty Texas and how it all began, and it was a fantastic look back!! I have to say, I have always wanted Finn and Isla together and never understood what was standing in their way....Now that I know, I have to congratulate the author for this little surprise!!!! It made so much sense, and why I never even considered it, can only be attributed to her writing....I LOVE THIS WHOLE DIRTY TEXAS SERIES!!!!! Thanks, JA Low, for always giving us what we want, even when we don’t even know what that is!!!! THIS MAY BE THE HOTTEST BOOK OF THE SERIES!!!!!❤️🌼🔥

This is the book the rest of the Dirty Texas series has been leading too. Little tips and tidbits have lead us here and it was wonderful! First off, I love rockstars. Secondly, I kind of love forbidden love stories. This story follows Finn, Dirty Texas band member, and Isla, another band member's off limits sister and takes there story back to the very beginning. This book goes way back to Isla and Finn's first meeting and follows there complicated relationship that was immediately shut down by Isla's older brother and Finn's best friend. Their relationship was further complicated by her working for the band and Finn's fame and the random women he brings home. While trying to hide his attraction to his friend's sister, Finn is also keeping secrets from Isla.

I loved this book and the way that it was written and I can't wait for JA Low to give us another glimpse into the Dirty Texas world.

I absolutely adored this fantastic book and to say I smiled big through this book is an understatement. All through this series we have been seeing Finn and Isla battle each other and their feeling. This book took all what I thought would happen and threw it out the window. The back story was so important and made this book so, so special.

This story has its ups and downs. The downs were horrendous and my heart broke on some occasions, on others my heart was in mouth and I prayed and prayed for them. But I guess like anything if something is suppose to be it will happen.

I have read this series from the beginning and I will honestly say I can see this author has grown and progressed in her writing and style. JA Low has become a strong author and can write a great romance. This book and series is a huge recommend from me

Wow!! This is another fantastic book in the Dirty Texas series. Ever since they were young and Isla moved in next door to they had that special connection which had been tested over many years. It was always Isla’s brother and Finn’s bandmate and best friend, Oscar that has stood in their way. He didn’t want his sister hurt by Finn’s manwhore ways.

I can’t get enough of the Dirty Texas guys and had been waiting for Finn and Isla’s story. It broke my heart at times and had me hoping that at some point they could find their HEA no matter how much they had hurt each other over the years. They still had that special pull that always had you hoping that it was finally going to be their time. I highly recommend this book and this whole series!!

Where do i start.....hmmmmmm the book im sure is good ...for most. But for me, with all the back and forths of Finn and Isla which is like 80 % of the whole book. I have became tired of it. Slowly becoming pissed at the two main cast because they are both soooo stupid. They cant get enough with each other then broke eache others heart. Specially Finn .ugh! He is sooo frustrating. And also Isla as well because she was soo stupid when it comes to Finn.

WOW!! OMG!! Absolutely love this one. I couldn’t put it down I wanted to know what was next for these two. I felt for both these two characters. I laughed, cried and screamed at them. You can split this into two books as with the others. This one takes us back fifteen years ago, to how the two main character in this book meet each other. Then progresses throughout with each chapters.

Fifteen Years Ago: Finn meet Isla when she moves in next to him and his brothers. Finn’s mom warns both him and his older brother Hudson to stay away if there’s a young girl that’s moving in. Finn is a little jealous of his older brother, who is the quarterback star of their high school. But his older brother is graduating and it will be Finns time soon to be the star quarterback. Finn also has his friends Evan, Axel and Christian who have started a band and things are finally happening for them. As Finn sit at his window practicing for their upcoming gig he notices movement in a window across the fence. The silhouette is of a girl when the light turns on he sees the most beautiful girl he could ever dream of. When she notices Finn she stops and stares at him, he gives her a smile and wave after a few moments she smiles and waves back to Finn. The next day Finn thinks he dreamed of the girl until he sees her walking with the principal. Finn heads to music class where he meets Oscar, where they all find out Oscar plays guitar. After hearing Oscar play they invite him jam with them after school. Later that day when leaving school Finn finds out Oscar is his next door neighbor, and the girl of his dreams brother. After a few weeks Finn’s parents invite Oscar’s over, Finn, Oscar and Isla head to the basement watching television, talking about growing up in German and England. When Isla excuses herself and Finn stares at her, Oscar punches Finn in the arm and tells him to stay away from his sister. A Month Later: They band plays at a party, all the girls are screaming. Oscar finds Isla and is mad because she is there. Oscar asks Finn if he’ll give Isla a ride home. When Finn takes Isla home he confesses that she’s the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen. Isla tells Finn he’s cute and then leans in a kisses him. Isla pulls aways and Finns leans over to her and kisses her like he’s wanted to since he first seen her. Two Years Later: Oscar and Finn are off to prom with their dates. Isla and Finn both have been on dates since their kiss but neither one has gone all the way, they are waiting on each other. Later that night Isla alone at home in her room when she gets a text from Finn. Isla meets Finn downstairs when he confesses he wanted to go to prom with her. Finn tells Isla he wants her, and she tells him she’s all his. Finn tells her about prom and how there was a bet his date could get him to lose his virginity. Finn tells Isla he doesn’t want anyone else but her. Just before summer break the band gets an invite to play in Miami. Isla gets a little upset but the band needs this. Oscar tells her as soon as she is old enough she can come with them because she helps them with a few things. Later Isla tells Finn she thinks they should see other people, he’s off with the band and won’t be home, he’ll have girls throwing themselves at him, she doesn’t want to hold him back. Two Weeks After the band leave there are photos of Finn with girls draped all over him. One Year Later: Isla is graduating and Oscar and Finn are sitting waiting for her. Isla greets them but also has a boyfriend and it breaks Finns heart. The band plays at Isla graduation party but she isn’t there. Everyone starts looking for her. Isla boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend. Finn finds Isla at their spot he get into her car, when she jumps on him and starts kissing him. Isla tells him she hated seeing him with all those girls, she pushed him away because she wanted him that much. Three Years Later: Finn is all over the news, he has been pretending to date an up and coming actress. The actress announces she is pregnant with Finn’s baby and that he dumped her and wanted nothing to do with her or the baby. Six Months Later: Finn is on his way to the lawyers office to find out if the baby is his, the mediator states that the baby isn’t Finns. Six Years Later: Isla is engaged to an up and coming actor. Isla gets revenge by dressing in the hottest outfit she owns and finding Tyler from Sons of Brooklyn, since he has a crush on her. Tyler and Isla go for a walk and dance for a while. After dancing they find a daybed on the beach tuck away, they start making out when Isla hears Finn’s voice and a woman. Finn is pissed when he see Tyler and Isla, he told Tyler she was off limits. Isla tells Finn she pursued him. Three Months Later: Sienna is teaching Isla how to pole dance, while Tyler urges her on. When Isla falls Tyler helps her up and goes to get her a drink only to have Oscar stop him. Isla and Oscar have a blow up, it’s the first time they’ve ever yelled at each other. Isla can’t take Oscar being the overprotected brother. Isla leaves and tries to get her car, but Finn stops her she in no condition to drink so he takes her home. When Isla gets home she tells Finn to leave, but he stands and watches her so she get undressed and into bed. Isla tells him if he’s going to stand there all night to do something entertaining or get out. So he ask her what to do, and she tells him to strip. Finn and Isla get physical but then she tells Finn Oscar will be home soon and he leaves. The band arrives in London at a club in the VIP section, Evan, Chris, Axel and Finn are not enjoying the woman who are trying to chat with them. Sienna, Venessa, Isla and Derrick are dancing on a table in the VIP section, men are surrounding and salivating over them. Evan wants to leave so he tells the guys, Finn and Chris follow him. A frustrating story.

The idea of this story got me a little giddy, teen sweethearts, best friends, neighbors, two people who grew up together who would then fall in love, with their love tested when Finn hits it big as a rockstar with his band and then you would expect the story to then go onto the hea but no, it did not go how I expected at all and sometimes predictable is better. It was more complex than that and the characters and their actions become frustrating.

Suddenly trouble begins when Finn and Ilsa are young and this whole journey is through the years to the present day.
When Isla and Finn become more than just friends they keep their relationship to themselves and away from Isla's overprotectove brother who is also Finn's best friend, then the band they have formed begins to get noticed and they are asked to go on a tour.

Isla being younger stays behind at school and she tells Finn to experience being a rockstar, all of it, the whole experience and if he's tempted to be with a groupie that's all part of it, he doesn't have to be in a relationship anymore, they should just be friends and in the future see where they are because they would be a part a lot and she didn't want to hold him back.

I understood Isla saying this, their relationship was secret anyway, she was young and he would be tempted while on the road and she didn't want him to feel trapped or put in a position were he would have to make excuses to her brother who is also a band member that would give them away but TWO WEEKS? Two weeks before he was pictured with girls and that was just the start of it.

Finn was not only a huge manwhore with crap excuses but I'm convinced a sex addict too, the group went to sex clubs and orgies with each other. When Isla was older she still had feelings for him and joined to be part of the band's team and witnessed all of the sex going on with the band members, the parties and the guys openly having sex, Finn with numerous girls etc.

That girl, I don't know how she stuck around, Finn would sleep with her when he was tempted and they fell into old ways of sneaking around and Isla because she loved him took what he gave then he would be with groupies or at the sex club later in the plot.

Isla didn't have enough backbone for me, both these characters deserved each other in the end, I can't say I liked either of them or their actions in most scenes and I still wasn't convinced at the end they had a forever kind of love.

I love a rollercoaster journey but this was beyond comprehension at times.

I haven't read the previous books, this book can be read as a standalone.
My first by J.A Low, It wasn't an enjoyable read for me and I will definitely have to read a different book by this author to appreciate her writing because it was the characters and the plot in this one that I just couldn't like.

Welcome back Dirty Texas family. I simply adore this series and I think this is the best book yet! These sexy men, from the band Dirty Texas, are all so damn ... everything! I have had to read this book over two nights as I was far too emotional to read in front of my family. I have cried so many tears of happiness, love and general despair that I have waterlogged ears. I also have cheek ache caused by my big, fat smile. Reading about all my favourite members of Dirty Texas makes me happy.

Finally we get to read Fin and Isla's story, and what a story it is! I love that J.A. Low has started from the beginning of their story, none of this flipping back and forth from 'present to past.' I love when you get the flow from the timeline, it makes me feel more connected.

From previous books in this series we've been teased with the relationship between these two and it's made me so happy to read their journey. Fin and Isla have been on a roller coaster of a ride for years! YEARS! Fin is such a sexy man and some of the scenes in this book made my kindle smoke! Hot! Isla has made my heart break along with hers with all the mixed signals and missed opportunities over the decades but oh how it was worth the wait.

I am still needing more from this ever expanding group of people. I have loved every single word of this book and catching up with the characters from previous books. You must read the whole series to get the feel and understand how everyone is interconnected stories.

Title: Suddenly Trouble (Dirty Texas, #4)
Author: J.A. Low
Genre: Rockstar Romance
Rating: 5/5

Our Dirty Texas journey continues with Finn and Isla’s story and what a story it is. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “an emotional rollercoaster of a journey” before, well this it what I’d class as being the penultimate rollercoaster of journeys, it’s was exciting, frustrating, complicated and filled with fun, happiness, sadness, tears and laughter it really did have it all and more with some very intriguing surprises that you won’t see coming, well I didn’t, there was a point I thought I’d need to ask the husband for help picking my jaw up from the floor but I did eventually manage it myself.... lol.

It was great reading how there came to be a “Finn and Isla” I refuse to say more, as a reader you deserve to experience the journey yourself alongside the couple and of course a few other familiar faces, them being the rest of the Dirty Texas gang.

Ms Low has once again shown us just how talented of an author she is with this amazing read, a brilliant storyline with great characters, I can’t wait to see what’s in-store next, whatever it is I sure hope we get to catch up with the Dirty Texas crew.

Arc received in return for an honest review.

OMG...…………………….Absolutely Fanfeckingtastic.
I loved this book, I was pulled into from the beginning and stayed until I had read the last word, watching the story play out in my head, as if I was watching a film.
I have had a soft spot for both Finn and Isla sin the very first book, going back and getting to know them and what they went through I thought was brilliant.
I went on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster ride while reading their story, I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated and I cried some more. The emotions that they go through you can feel, some of them jump of the page and pull on your heart strings.
This pair went on one hell of a ride to get to where they wanted to be and find their real happiness, I felt as if I was on that ride with me.
There are a few surprises in this book some you will see coming and some you won't, but take it from me, they all help to make the book the fantastic read that it is.
I have loved each book in this series so far.
J.A Low has penned a great story. I can't wait to see what is in store for this couple.

Wow! I really enjoy this series, the band almost feels like they are part of my extended family and I'd been waiting for Isla and Finn's HEA! It was SO worth the wait! Finn is probably my favorite member of Dirty Texas, and the glimpses we have gotten throughout the other stories of Isla I knew she'd become my favorite of the girls. I like that she's not perfect, because Finn sure isn't, and they for sure deserve each other. I cried happy, satisfied tears at the end of this book. A lot of love, humor and sense of the evolving family seem to be the main themes of this book. It was an emotional story, maybe alittle more emotional than the others in the series, but they have a lot of history so it runs pretty deep. I felt like the author did a great job of getting us right in the middle of it all. Really happy with the conclusion and I hope we get more sneek peeks at these great couples through the author's other stories!

What can I say about this book but awesome.

I love finding out the story of Finn and Isla. Even through Isla is Finn best friends sister there has always been a connection since they first met.

The way that JA Low interacts each book into each other and we learn what the other characters thought at the time is what I love about these books.

The surprise had me shocked but happy.

1.5 stars. That’s it, I give up on this series. Why do people like this?? The men are such assholes, the women are immature and some things in the plot are so far from reality that it’s not even funny anymore

Loved this installment. The glimpses that we've gotten in last books of Isla and Finn's tumultuous relationship...This was heartbreaking and beautiful.
I'm kind of jealous, I think I would like to visit this Paradise Club. Shhhh...

loved it!

I love this series, the way the books overlapped with all the characters being involved.
Especially loved Isla and Finn’s bumpy romance, the push and pull between them and the barriers that strain it.
This book is written with so much emotion and detail I could put it down, the twists and suspense of what will happen next was perfection.
Steamy scenes are off the charts, who doesn’t love a visit to the Paradise Club/Resort.
Overall a fantastic read

First love can survive once the secrets are told

I loved this book. I got a chance to understand why these two kept missing the mark. Their love seemed to continuously take a hit because of secrets they both tended to keep. Eventually they find their way to one another once the truth comes out. They finally get their much deserved happy ending.

This book sucks it does NOT deserve the 5 star ratings it has gotten.

I absolutely hated how this book had mister Oscar be all emotional incest over Isla but what can you do (warning I get EXTREMELY heated over Oscar beware)

I like to think the author followed her son to his hang outs with his friends and just wrote down every slang they used and then tried to put it in the book but failed so yeah

“Sisters are off limits” well I guess if the brother was a good dude he wouldn’t care but unfortunately Oscar is a piece of annoying shit so yeah

Isla is FOURTEEN years old. If some dude who was like 16 starting looking at me like that and describing my legs that way I would be disgusted and extremely creeped out. It’s not even like Finn didn’t know how old she was she’s clearly a few years younger than Oscar like PLSSS STOP YOU ARE WEIRD

There was never any real confirmation of what each member played/did in the band, like you had to go digging into the book to figure it out and I simply did not pay attention to remember like Finn drums Oscar bass guitar like that’s all I knew.

So Isla is broken things off with Finn because she knows that other girls are going to catch his attention and she doesn’t want to hold him back also in case he cheats on her.

And like what the heck? First of all, this relationship doesn’t sound stable or have any sort of trust in it if Isla doesn’t have any trust in him to stay faithful. Also if Finn was a good person he would reassure Isla that he wouldn’t cheat on her. But I knew better tbh these are literally teenagers and like tbh if you think about it Isla was smart for doing that because if I ever dated someone in high school I would instantly have no belief that they would be responsible.

And I thought: it’s fine Finn sounds like he loves her a lot her won’t cheat. But guess what..

He gets with another girl TWO WEEKS AFTER THEY BREAK UP.

TWO WEEKS so I guess Isla was correct imagine if they were still together dude can’t even keep it in his pants no matter how hard he tried! He seriously could’ve cheated. Well…. He’s a douche I guess.

AND HE NEVER APOLOGISES AT ALL. This would’ve been slightly forgivable if Finn apologised to Isla, because yes he was like 18/19 at the time and extremely immature but he never did and it just makes their whole childhood love story unbelievable like he didn’t even care about her and forgot about her in TWO WEEKS!!

He admits he would’ve messed up if they stayed together like what kind of dude are you? I would never date a guy ever again if he admitted to have possibly cheated on me.

I hate Oscar so much I’ve already talked about his absolutely insane overprotectiveness but it’s just so ridiculous like I’ve seen some bad brothers but Oscar just takes the cake he is on another level bad brother. Isla is friggin 28 years old and he’s still too immature to let her date his friends like if I were Finn and Isla I would completely not give a shit like imagine if they didn’t give a shit like the book would be over in two chapters instantly as soon as she broke up with Liam the book would be over.

He’s not even helping her sometimes you are in need of a protective brother who can keep you from making stupid decisions but Oscar is just completely blocking her from any chances of happiness. He is such a piece of shit he’s not protecting her he’s going to ruin her life imagine if she never said anything and just let him take over her life forever I can’t even imagine how unhappy she would be. He just need to sit the fuck down and put on his big boy pants and LET THIS GROWN WOMAN DO WHAT SHE WANTS.

Wowowoowowowowowow surprise surprise but not actually very surprising Finn tells Isla “I’ll spend all night with you” and then immediately hooks up with another girl y’know what so what if he’s drunk and is making a mistake he is just the most annoying guy ever

Proof that Oscar is still the dipshit dingbat we all know and hate

(This is what happened it may be exaggerated a bit)

Oscar is like: what’s going on?? 😡

Tyler: you’re sister is drunk so I was going to- (gets cut off by Oscar the obese before he was allowed to say I was getting her water like the good guy he is stfu Oscar the obese SIT DOWN)

Oscar: you thought WUT?! That you were gong to take ADVANTAGE OF HER? (Plssss omg stfu Oscar the obese SHUT IT)

Tyler: what??? Of course not idiot

Oscar: you gay?? (Wtffff Oscar just wtf you obese ostrich)

Tyler: what? No! You idiot omg why would you ask me that?

Oscar the obese: he’s straight and any straight dude would want to get in your pants (wtfffff omg first of all what if he’s bi or something like just OMG and that’s so intrusive you don’t just ask someone their sexuality so rudely like wuttttt)

But then finally Isla snaps back and she did kind of devour here ngl

“Not every single man in this world uses women like you. You may look at women and only see their worth by them spreading their legs, but most other men don’t.”

Ok yeah that was kind of excellent probs to you Isla drunk

And then she serves once more:

“You think that all men want me for my body parts. You don’t think they would ever want me for anything else.”

Oscar the obese: gosh no omg you’re the most remarkable woman I know (😑🙄)

Isla: but you don’t ever treat me like that

Yeah ok Isla seriously ate this chapter I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Oscar get put in his fucking place I wish she did this more.

It seriously boils my blood like I am so mad and frustrated.

And then the most infuriating scene appears before my already disintegrating eyes. Like seriously the audacity of these men is just astounding.

So basically what happens is Vanessa, Isla, Sienna, and Derrick (but he doesn’t get affected so yeah) are dancing on the table having fun they’re single and having a good time or what Finn likes to describe as “gyrating”. Then Finn, Evan, and Christian or Finn the fat, Evan the ever so ugly, and Christian the camel toe. They decide they don’t like how the girls are having fun 🤩 and so they get up go over grab the girls carry them out on their shoulders chuck them in the car and proceed to text each other saying what might just be the most idiotic shit I’ve ever read:

Christian: I don’t get why the girls are pissed.

What- you don’t understand why they’re pissed? Well you literally just got in their and grabbed them when they were still having fun you idiot

Finn: I didn’t like the way those men were looking at them

Who the fuck cares you LITERALLY DO THE EXACT SAME THING AS THOSE GUYS YOU STARE AT GIRLS DREAMING ABOUT HOOKING UP WITH THEM AND YOU HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR MANY MANY YEARS SO SHUT UP

Evan: What the hell got into them tonight?

…..STFU

We all shrug.

idiots shallow idiots

But that’s not all that happens this is in more detail:

“So it’s okay for you boys to have girls all over you, but when we get some attention you haul us all away like fucking cavemen. We are not your women to do this to,”Vanessa fumes.

Exactly right Vanessa. These dudes constantly have girls all over them and suddenly when these girls do and want to explore their sexualities it’s an issue because fsrm they can only do that with those men and the thing that annoys me so much is that they bring this up so many times of the guy telling the girl she can’t have fun and then she says well you do so why can’t I and it’s quite valid but then he just never replies and instead says something to change the topic so we never even have them understand how misogynistic they’re being. It’s so annoying and hard to read and frustrating, it makes me hate these guys so much what’s the point in dedicating paragraphs to making these guys seem like feminists for them just to do this??? And feminist basically just equals the guy saying “no! Let the woman drive the car! Woman can drive too 😄”

And like then Evan the ever so ugly says:

“Don’t forget you ladies work for us and when we say we are ready to go home, that means we are ready to go home,” Evan states

Oh shut up and SIT DOWN Evan the ever so ugly like please at least come up with a better excuse for you’re crazy possessiveness over these girls you have no control over. Stop it with the possessiveness I beg you authors!!!! It’s not hot or attractive it’s annoying and toxic.

Why tf did Finn not tell Isla about the SEX TAPES THAT WERE FILMED OF HER its not only an invasion of privacy that she was filmed its a complete invasion of privacy that she doesn’t know and that instead HE KNOWS gosh he’s literally seen the photos and videos Liam took that’s horrible I would be so extremely uncomfortable and feel so violated for this rando looking at private images little dipshit

Wow Tyler is like such a good guy seriously he’s way better than Finn omg. He’s such a good friend to Isla he’s there to talk when she needs he gets her out of awkward situations with Finn just best bud fr.

When Finn saw Tyler and Isla together that was the funniest thing ever he was literally described as “Shakes with anger” lol

Finally Isla gets to relax in a luxury cabin in the rainforest in Australia and then fsrm Finn the foot SHOWS UP??? So he broke in and then just started propositioning her. PERVE STUPID GROSS PERVEEE

I don’t gaf that Finn is sad he thinks Sebastian knocked up Isla like you’re the one who has been with a bunch of different women while still claiming to love Isla like how am I supposed to believe that? We have literally just seen him hooking up with hundreds of different women and suddenly we’re supposed to believe he still loves Isla because he’s sad she’s having a baby with someone else like bffrrr

Even her own family isn’t taking care of her when she’s fucking pregnant. Finn just went on and on about how he’s mad that he didn’t get to be apart of the pregnancy but now you literally do!! And of course he’s no where to be found and Oscar is upset at her and for what??? he seriously NEEDS to get over himself like he’s so mad and just can’t let Isla do what she wants he literally isn’t there for her when she PREGNANT not even her MUM like what is this???

And the. Isla finally tells Oscar to not control her life and he has the crusty audacity to say “you think that’s what I’ve been doing?” Uhh are you that dumb???

“I thought I was protecting you”

oh please 🙄

He has been a little roach in her life for so fucking long. It’s not even like he’s only been protective for a bit like he has been overprotective for YEARS since she was 14 to now like 30-ish what even is that how did she never stand up for herself and also how did he never listen to her when she said something? And why did no one ever say anything to Oscar?? They saw how insane he was like why did they never tell him TO SIT DOWN?!

Oscars stupid stupid stupid stupid emotional incest-y behaviour broke Derricks lamp….. HE NEED TO TAKE A SEAT OMG

Actually when has Oscar’s over protectiveness ever helped Isla? Like seriously. It’s never gotten her out of a bad relationship, it’s never kept her from a possibly bad relationship. And you can’t even argue it kept her from toxic ass shit Finn because he thinks Finn is a great guy he just hates to see Isla doing what she wants. Like he has literally ruined her life he’s never protected her it’s never helped her like NEVER.

If Isla has a girl I pray for her everyday because she going to have the most crazy family being so overprotective like maybe not has bad as Oscar but still like stfu pls

And there’re SO MANY BABIES like chill out maybe your wife doesn’t want to keep popping them out?

Anyways shitiest book ever the random sentences where they say “Fuck! That was sad” is so weird and cringey.

Moral of the story: please let your sister do what she wants and don’t pull the stupid cliche protectiveness shit because then the book won’t be so long anymore. And also if you love someone please don’t act upon that love by hooking up with someone else. That’s literally the cycle: Finn says I love you Isla believes him Finn sleeps with someone else the author tries to justify it but saying he was drunk Isla ignores him for a chapter Finn tracks her down breaking into her accomodation Isla and Finn fuck without even saying words to each other and get back together repeat.

If you've read the rest of the Dirty Texas books (and probably even if you haven't!), you know this is a series about a Rock group, and their entourage. So, right off, you can expect Rockers behaving badly! There is so much going on in this book, that I was finished before I even really realized it! There is a bit of back and forth, a little of what is going on now, a bit of what happened in the past, back to the present. Despite that, I had no trouble following along, and the story actually flowed really well.

Finn and Isla met in high school when Isla and her brother, Oscar, move next door to Finn. Even though Isla is younger than Finn, there is an instant.....something... between them. Not quite attraction, because she is too young, but maybe a possibility?!? I'm not quite sure how to describe it but its there. Finn quickly becomes friends with Oscar, and he invites Oscar to join his band. This, of course, puts Isla off limits to the guys of Dirty Texas, since Oscar is over the top protective of her.

As Finn and Isla grow up, they remain close, best friends even, and there are encounters between them. Theirs isn't really a relationship, but it is very toxic to both of them at times. This isn't one of those insta love stories that they see each other, and they only have eyes for their one. I'm not a fan of cheating in stories, and that isn't really what this is, but I still have mixed feelings for parts of the story. There is a lot of hurt between the two of them. There were quite a few times that I started to get sad, not seeing any way possible for their HEA to happen!

This was a very angsty, drama filled book and I was hooked from the beginning. I loved this story, but it isn't typical of what I read. Both characters had a lot of growing up, physically and emotionally over the story. There is outside interference that really made things a lot harder than it had to be. This book is totally one that you will have to have an open mind for. I've read the other books in the series, but it's been a while. I was still able to keep up with this one just fine, so it can definitely be read as a stand alone. It does seem like they all occur during the same time period, and there are mentions of events from the other books in this one, but I don't think it spoiled anything. Matter of fact, I think it's time for a re-read!

Suddenly Trouble is the fourth addition to the Dirty Texas series, and whilst you can read it as a standalone, I would highly recommend reading the previous titles before diving into Finn and Ilsa's story.

If you love a rock star romance this is the series for you. Better yet if you love a forbidden romance, or brother's best friend trope Suddenly Trouble is the book for you.

The Dirty Texas rockers are incredibly hard working, and they play just as hard with their adoring entourage. The men of Dirty Texas are all incredibly passionate, and sexual men and their stories are highly erotic and passionate.

Finn and Isla's story is a tad different to it's predecessors as it takes us through both the past and present, and we see how Dirty Texas began. This pair of characters are incredibly complex, yet very endearing and fallible, and they both are quite vulnerable.

This title is packed full of emotion, heat, heart and moments of levity and humor. Throughout the previous titles the sexual chemistry, tension and attraction between Isla and Finn was quite palpable, and it was difficult to understand why they were so set at keeping each other at arms length, despite their obvious feelings. This pair develop exponentially over the course of this title, and not only in age and maturity.

Their story is quite tumultuous full of secrets, angst, drama, twists and turns, and emotional highs and lows. It's an incredibly passionate and erotic story that will hold you captive as they struggle to deal with the depth of their feelings.

I adored the banter and interactions between Finn and Isla, but also the characters I've come to love over the course of this series, and look forward to seeing reading the spin off titles that JA Low has planned for the future.
