CAPTIVATED BY THE GARGOYLE (Boston Stone Sentries Book #3) by Lisa Carlisle is the next story in a series of paranormal romances following Larissa and Roman. Although this is the third book, I believe you receive enough backstory and can pick-up the storyline and romance quickly enough to read this as a standalone.
Larissa Riley is still on suspension from the Boston P.D. at the start of this book. She discovered that she is a witch and she is the best hope to save her friend from an incubus demon king. She has not been trained and her belief in her power is spotty, but Roman believes in her and her power.
Roman is a gargoyle shifter and Commander of the Boston Stone Sentries. He knows Larissa is a powerful witch, even though she still has doubts and he knows she is his life-mate. When Larissa’s best- friend, Janie is kidnapped by the demon, Roman will follow Larissa through the portal into the demon realm to save her.
I enjoyed this addition to the series. Roman and Larissa are put through their paces in this action packed plot and their romance gets back on track. The sex scenes are explicit, but not gratuitous. I enjoyed how Larissa matured and grew into her powers and emotions in this finale. I also enjoyed the other gargoyle sentries becoming more three dimensional and integrated into the plot as characters and not just placeholders. This novella wraps up Roman and Larissa’s story well and hopefully Ms. Carlisle will follow more of the gargoyle shifters into the future.

There's only one demon left on this side of the portal and it's clear that Janie is it's main target. Larissa doesn't know why it is so determined to take her friend but when the worst happens she is determined to do whatever it takes to save Janie's life. Luckily Roman and the other Stone Sentries are willing to help but this is one battle that won't be easy to win.
Captivated by the Gargoyle is the final instalment in Larissa and Roman's trilogy and it was just as action packed as you'd expect. The stakes are higher than ever here when Janie is abducted by the demon king and trying to save her could end up costing Larissa and her friends everything.
I've really enjoyed seeing Larissa come into her powers, she's still learning exactly what she's capable of but she's come a long way and is getting stronger all the time. I was also pleased with the way the romance has developed between Larissa and Roman, they've both made mistakes along the way, and Larissa in particular had a lot of growing up to do but by the end of the book it felt like they were in a great place relationship wise. It was fun seeing the beginnings of a romance start to blossom between Janie and Arto, Roman's second in command. I think they are really cute together and I'd love to read a book about them both!

Larissa has brought Janie through the Damon's coma. She is being released from the hospital and Larissa just wants her safe. Roman suggests that she and Janie move into the Gargoyle compound. Larissa and Roman arrive to help Janie get released. Despite all gargoyles being on alert, the demon attacks Arto and grabs Janie and escapes. Roman and Janie were too late. Arto is severely wounded and needs time to recover. Time is off the essence they must get Janie back. Everyone is on high alert at the demon portal. The demon tricks a portal guardian and jumps into the portal with Janie. Will Arto survive a serious head wound. How can they get Janie back or is she gone forever.
This book was action packed. The characters are believable and relatable. It was an enjoyable page turned.

I don't know how this amazing author manages to top each previous 5 star book, but once again, Ms. Carlisle has outdone herself! "Captivated by the Gargoyle" exceeded my expectations! I was blown away from the start & did not want to stop whenever real life got in the way :o lol ... I would give this 6 stars if I could for originality, well-defined characters, twists & turns and attention to detail! Even tho this is the 3rd book in the Boston Stone Sentries, they can be read out of order. Yes, I volunteered to read this early but without any outside influences and I do buy her kindle books whenever I can. So these are my honest feelings & I highly recommend this and all her books to adult fans of fiction, especially those who love contemporary PNR, fantasy, romance & suspense like I do! Whatever Lisa Carlisle writes, I will read!

This is the thrilling conclusion of Roman and Larissa's romance. This is book 3 of 3. It could be read as a standalone but for a complete picture and total understanding you should really read all of the books and in order. An exciting storyline offers plenty of action, twists, danger, steam and emotion. I just loved this series and even though it ended well, I'm sad to see it end. I am voluntarily posting a completely honest review.

This is a fantabulous series and this latest addition is every bit as good as the previous 2! Love the storyline, love & adore the characters, lots of action and adventure, magic and romance and once started you will not want to put this series down, I mean gargoyles are awesome!

Much more action, chaos, drama, suspense and the usual spice. Larissa's development of her witch powers and combining it with the gargoyles to get out of the demon realm was well written. This ended the trilogy on a much stronger note

Its official I have now read all three stories and let me tell you I did this in one day. The first book will give you the backstory of how they meet which personally was dangerous but it worked for them.
The second book will fill you in on the situation between Roman and Larissa along with the danger to the city and Janie. Let me tell you as humans don't believe everything they see until it is ripping you from limb to limb before your mind tries to convince you that it is playing tricks.
Book three is the wrap up and it was a dozy.
Knowing that Roman and Larissa are working together and working towards maybe a relationship in this book still gave the story some oomph.
Yes, you can read book 3 by itself but in order for you to get the full enjoyment I do suggest that you read book 1 into so as to get the backstory. These two will go through some things that the average relationship would never survive. The author kept the story moving and the characters interesting and had a well-thought-out so what more could you ask for in a book.

So we come to the conclusion of Larissa and Roman’s story. Janie is again at the centre of it all as Larissa and the gargoyles enter the demon realm to battle the dark forces. Larissa comes to appreciate the witch side of her nature and has to learn to embrace it. Again a warning that this is an adult romance with all that it entails.

Finally, Janie is awake from her demon induced coma. Larissa is relieved she was able to use her untested powers with the help of ... (gonna have to read to find out) to save her friend. Unfortunately, the demon took Janie from the hospital and mortally wounded one of Roman's gargoyles.
Larissa will do anything to save her friend. Roman will do what is necessary to save the humans it is his job to protect, especially his mate, Larissa. Their love is new. Is it about to end during a rescue attempt? Will the evil demons win? There will be a vicious battle where the good guys are badly outnumbered. Will they be able to win out?
The author has provided us with action, steam, friendship, loyalty, and an exciting conflict. I enjoyed the book and the series and strongly recommend to gargoyle fans and those who've often wondered about them. The world building in this series is so much fun without being too far out there.

Roman and Larissa were going to pick up Janie from the hospital they were having a conversation about where Larissa and Janie were going to stay at her apartment but Romann wanted them to stay at the compound where they would be safe. But by the time they got back to the room Arto was unconscious on the floor bleeding and Janie was gone kidnapped by the demon. They went to the compound to get weapons and Roman tried to train Larissa with the sword but he had to go back out and look for Janie he had Talia his best weapons sentry to train her. By the time Arto awoke they had not found Janie but shortly after Janie and the demon were spotted and Roman had them keep an eye on them but next they were at the portal and the sentry informed Roman that they went through. Now they have to figure a way to get Janie back. Great characters and story line. Hope this is not the end for the Sentries. I was given a copy as a gift from the author without obligation.

Part 3 of Rise of the Fire Witch is about Janie, Larissa’s best friend from the Coma. I am absolutely ecstatic about the possible romance between Janie and Arto, one of the Stone Sentries. Part 3 showed more of the Sentries, like how they work and live. Larissa learned what life with the Sentries would be like. The Secondary characters were a blast, especially Arto. I am hoping for more of Arto and Janie. Hoping.
In this story, Janie gets kidnapped. Everyone works together to get her back. Larissa learns more about her powers and the compound as well as the other mates who live there.
Despite the length of this book, there has never come one moment where I was either bored or had no idea what happened. It was an action and magic packed trilogy that kept me on my toes. I finished the book in less than 3 days, which was a surprise for me.
The climax is fast paced and hooked me in through the last word, so grab a copy of this book.

This is book 3 in the Boston Stone Sentries series and continues and completes the story of Larissa and Roman. A beautifully well dual narrated read with a good, smooth flowing storyline. I would recommend that each of these be read / listened to in order to get the most from the storyline and these characters. Demons continue to invade the area and particularly focus on Larissa and her loved ones...Will Roman be able to continue to protect her and her friend thru this ever looming danger?!? Will Larissa finally give in to the love she feels for Roman and allow him to love her fully in return? Read / listen to find out!

I did enjoy reading this book, even if I have not read the previous books of the series, I was still able to follow in the general story line of the book relatively well. The characters are relatable, but I did find that sometimes it went too much from one action to the next without explaining enough in between. I guess I do like to read a bit more details in an action scene than what was offered in this book.

Larissa is devoted to her friend. She takes great risks to save her. In this action packed story, she really has to confront the truth of her magic and the paranormal world she is now part of forever.
It is a great conclusion to the earlier books and really shows how close Roman and Larissa have become. She has really had to change her whole life now that the truth is out. I really admire her strength.

I really enjoyed this story! Roman and Larissa we have met in previous stories. As they work to find the demon they also work to figure out themselves. This is fast paced and has great characters. There is quite a bit of action and a little suspense. I did listen to this on audio. Bridget Bordeaux and Kiernen Flitton did the narration. Each did a great job. I love just the hint of an accent in Kiernen as he portrayed Roman.

I found this book to be an enjoyable read and it felt a lot lighter to me.
I read this book because I enjoyed the first two books in the series so much. I was not disappointed. It is extremely well written. It has an Exciting plot and engaging characters.

I loved reading this shifter book. It has strong characters and was wonderfully written and the author is one of my favorites. I can not wait to see what is written next. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves shifter books.

There is only one demon left and they want to steal her magic and her friends soul. He wants to get them to a safe placements her friend is taken and they need to go save her. Things will get worse but can it get better? See if they can beat the last demon

The last book in the romance story of Larissa and Roman. I’m sure there will be more books of gargoyles to come and maybe one for a certain human friend of Larissa. The story had excitement and romance throughout. The love of these two only strengthens. Not even demons can tear them apart.
