Jackie's account of the 1987 siege at Peterhead's Cat A prison, where 4 inmates held him hostage for 4 days. PM Margaret Thatcher ordered the SAS to storm the building.
Very interesting insight into Jackie's life and what he went through as a hostage. I was lucky enough to have met him when we visited the Peterhead prison museum when he was a volunteer and he signed this copy that I own, addressing it to me personally. He was a lovely kind and friendly man and we were privileged to have gotten to talk with him.
I bought this book after speaking to Jackie at the museum more than 2 years ago now, and have finally had the chance to read it. A very interesting man and certainly an interesting story. I don’t necessarily agree with all of his opinions but it’s an enlightening read nevertheless.
3.5⭐️ rounded up to 4. Interesting and short read. I bought the book (a signed copy no less) from prison museum shop after a recent visit. A fascinating, eerie place. It was really good to read the book having visited the prison, as I could visualise a lot of the places and areas mentioned.
