After the princess she serves is given as a mate to a powerful Ketturan warrior, Falise soon ends up as an unwilling passenger on a spacecraft headed for a far-off world. More disturbing still, she quickly discovers that as far as her captors are concerned, her body no longer belongs to her.
As the princess is stripped bare and claimed roughly by the ship's captain, four of his companions set their eyes on Falise. The brutishly handsome barbarians plan to share her and use her in every manner possible, but first they must train her. She will learn to obey without question and take everything they give her or she will be punished in ways more shameful than she could have ever imagined. But when the journey is over, will she still want to return home?
Publisher's Note:Taken by the Warriors is a stand-alone book which is the second entry in the Owned and Shared series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
This book, THIS book! I can’t even. Let me just tell you, hot savage warriors from space? Sci-fi romance? Where do I sign? Which is all very strange considering that I read so much paranormal romances last year, I had to switch to any other romance types. I just couldn’t read them anymore. But then I saw this book description, and I HAD to read it right away. Better yesterday. I couldn’t set it aside. Even stranger considering I don’t like anything even remotely close to love triangles, harems, reverse harems, menages, basically, any romantic situation when there are more than two people involved.
Well, there were more than two people involved in almost any interaction in the book, and I still couldn’t put it down.
What can I say? Darx... 😍🤩😍❤️ My very delicious, very rough and evil asshole. I fell in love from the first mention of him. How couldn’t I? The eviler, the better. But when I got to a kitty cat, and then a carzy demon raptor story (though, I’m not sure, who was crazier, the raptor or Dax; I’m sure they were well worth each other), I knew he was my soul-mate, and some things were just meant to be. LOL 🤣
Oh man, he was so smart, so so smart, as straightforward as they get with no-nonsense and no-bullsh*t approach. But even the smartest man can be so blind and dumb at times. Let me just tell you, very close to the end of the story there was what I would call not the brightest Darx’s moment. I’m glad that he had learned his lesson well in the end, If you don’t want your guests to leave, you restrain them first, ask questions later. Mwa-ha-ha! But before he learned his lesson, I wished I could spank him hard enough, but I knew I would only hurt myself in the process which defeats the whole point of the exercise. Soooo, I think at that time I wouldn’t mind if a few crazy raptors would bite his behind... painfully. But sorely in educational purposes, of course.
I really liked all other characters. They were so different, and so wonderful. But Darx... Oh, I don’t have words to express all my fascination and contain my excitement! And the warrior’s super evil and super funny sense of humour. Mmmm, in love.
So yes, if for whatever reason you are still reading my fangirly review instead of starting to read a book like a half an hour ago, I have one thing to say to you, DO. IT. NOW.
This book is much kinkier and more hardcore than the previous book in this "series", Owning Their Pet. I was surprised by the very different vibe. The author introduces a second alien race, different from the one introduced in Owning. A Princess is forced to marry their leader as part of a trade agreement, and she is abducted by them before the marriage takes place.
The book follows the trials of the Princess and her handmaid, Falise, and is told from both their points of view, as well as two male points of view. There are scenes of dubious consent and vaginal and anal "trains".
I hate to refer to erotica as "book porn". I hate that term but it fits this story, IMHO. Taken by the Warriors didn't have a love story - at least for me - and was such raunchy scene after raunchy scene. The plot barely served to explain the move from one sexcapade to another.
I found it difficult to keep track of the varying characters and the constant changes in the POV character. Overall, it almost felt like a completely different author than the one I had just read.
I will read the third announced book, but I am hoping that it is much more similar to Owning Their Pet, or I doubt I will continue with this author. This book was not for me.
*Please note that while I am referring to these two books as being part of a series, they are only loosely connected. More reviews are available on www.mackenziesmountain.com
I had a variety of different reactions to this book.
#1: I basically hated Drax and didn't care for the way he treated Falise. She was sweet. Super sweet and willing and not argumentative or anything. So there was completely no reason for Darx to treat her the way he did.
#2: IDK why the princess - since seemed to be able to get them to leave Falise alone - didn't talk to them about how they (Drax, mostly) were treating her.
#3: There were some hot scenes but the way everything bounced from POV to POV and from basically only sex scene to sex scene made it impossible to "care" for any of the characters except Falise. Who was kinda given a few too many sticks...
#4: Its kinda hard to call this a "romance" when how the hell would the reader or Falise know that shit? She was treated like a sex toy but was supposed to realize Darx loved her? Get the fuck out of here with that shit. He didn't treat her as if she was special at all. Even when she asked him if there would be "more" he went straight to sex. No hugs and cuddles, etc. So I wasn't feeling it.
The whole book left me feeling...a little sad and dismayed, to be honest. Emotionally. I just left the book feeling bad for Falise.
Officially book 2 of the 'Owned and Shared' series, Taken By The Warriors, can be read as book 3 (I prefer that order) and works as a stand-alone. The events overlap with Book 3. Princess Lanamoar wanted to marry Rocurt Calex, but when he rendered himself unavailable was expecting another husband of equal standing. When her sister, Brandese who has been promised to a Ketturan warrior disappears, her father, the king, hands Lanamoar over in her stead. Not everyone on Endricane is pleased and an incident leads to Lana, her maid Falise and another servant, Jecka being hastily taken off by the Ketturans. Women are rare on the warriors' home planet; they expect their women to submit and be shared, but they also cherish them, especially for their ability to bear children - as one character says, he protects any and every child, because it may be his. Sex - with multiple partners at the same time, punishment, and tall muscley warriors and three women all trapped on a spaceship together. Stars! The main focus is Falise, sparky and interesting and curious, and Darx, a rough and ready, fearless and determined warrior, who is smitten by her. A terrific read.
4 solid stars! Review to follow but I have read quite some alien abduction menage stories (kinda my kink) and it's hard for one to still surprise me. To clarify, it might sound like a RH but it's anything but. First of all there are different couples in the same book (although one main couple) but the H's do share. In spite of the sharing there are two clearly defined couples. No F/F action and both H's stick to the one h.
An interesting alien story. I would not call it a reverse harem. It was more like a zip car sharing service. There were 2 girls passed around amongst a fighting unit of aliens. I also could not figure out who the story was supposed to be about Lana or Darx. Overall the story is good. An enjoyable read.
An interesting story with dark sexiness, this story is well developed, with scenes that flow and characters that grow on you. The beginning intrigue and introduction to the story was gripping and tense. By the time the women were on the ship, the dark sexuality came out and boy was it hot. You will have to read it. The scenes were very descriptive and although the relationships were sometimes confusing, they were all on board with the activities, so it was cool. This is my first reading of this author, and I was not aware that it was book two of a series. I liked this book and this authors writing style so much that I am now going to find and read book one. Don't miss this fantastic book!
OMG! This book was fabulous. The characters were so well drawn that I felt they were real people. Don't miss this series. It is definitely worth your time and attention. Enjoy!
In my opinion, this is not a RH story. It's a story of three girls and 6-7 guys where two of the guys get two of the girls, one girl wants none of them. Sometimes the guys share...not RH But if you ignore all that, the book was well written and I enjoyed all the characters and their nuances.
After reading the first book, I thought I had some idea of the formula. But this is one of those trilogies where the second installment is the odd one out.
We met the Princess for literally a few seconds near the end of the first book. However, since then, things have changed. Her Father, The King, hired some alien mercenaries and decided to reward them with his youngest daughter and non-heir. (He is not a very nice man.)
When the younger daughter becomes unavailable (See Book 3) he decides to offer the Alien Leader his other daughter. He accepts. And ends up taking her back to his home planet, along with the princess's maid (who wanted to go with her) and the royal seamstress (who didn't).
Orgies in space ensue. In the end, everyone gets an HEA.
I noticed some of the other reviews complain about the indecision over who our protagonist was. That is true but it didn't bother me.
I liked it. Oh it’s so dirty you have to like it. A whole bunch of hot, alien men with no females on their planet trying to repopulate? Yes, please! There are three different women in the story. The princess who doesn’t mind getting down but would like doors so no one else can see. The seamstress who wants nothing to do with any of them. And, the princess’s maid who is ready and willing to do anything under the guise of keeping her princess from having to do it. She is a dirty little thing. I’ve said it before, I have never really liked paranormal romance, but these alien ones? They’ve found a place in my reading rotation.
The warriors come for a princess and end up with three girls. These are the tales of each one's story. I think the most memorable one is with Falise and Darx. He treats her bad and sorely used. She goes back to earth because she thinks Darx will never love her. You will have to read the book to find out how it ends. It is for adults only, of course. I love the book and it's author.
Would've given it 5 stars but i can't stand typos and was a little perturbed by the description of the book and the fact that it was so short. The book itself was decent. I lobbed the characters. Darx was my favorite... Because what woman doesn't love an asshole who is almost sweet sometimes. I just felt the book was rushed and could've had more context
not anywhere near dark. more erotica than anything. all hot and sexed up everywhere. The blurb is foolish as this book is about the princess as well as Falisa and the seven warriors who went to booker the bride price. Basically a book about sharing. No reverse Harem nonsense either.
Such an amazing synopsis but I couldn't sink into the story. I couldn't finish it but I didn't hate it. Where my difficulty came in was the so many changes in POV. If this had been a little more subtle or less frequent I would have been great. I would have gotten the feel for each character and what they were about. This lead to a level of apathy where I didn't care about what happened next. Questions I'd like to ask is what makes your story dark? Men running around in loin clothes on a ship with no doors? A father who traded his daughter for fertile soil? A delusional man who drugs everyone to keep the princess? A doctor who is just creepy These are all elements in other stories which are not dark. I feel there should be a bit more fear along with a level of unwillingness to bring it to a darker realm. A level a depravity would be a bonus. I so wanted to be there but couldn't make it.
Unfortunately, I did not like this book. I thought it would be like most RH with aliens where they are devoted and loyal to 1 woman but that wasn’t the case. They shared their women openly with other warriors. I just felt like the women were viewed as just a hole to blow their load in and hope they end up pregnant to help their population. It just felt too much like cheating and simple breeding embellished in a way that readers may find interesting.
I love a good BDSM book but because of the lack of commitment to one woman, I was completely turned off of this book. Plus I didn’t like how this book was written in terms of POV. There were 3 women on the ship and we had to read about 2 of them and their sexual escapades. I would have rather read a book focusing on just 1 female character since sex was so heavily involved. I never felt like any of the characters or their relationships with one another were well explored or detailed because of the writing.
I liked this book okay, but not as much as #1 and #3. I just couldn’t get myself to like the Drax character. All the others seemed at least tolerable. I didn’t care for the way discipline was applied. In books #1 & #3, all the discipline derived from bad behavior on the part of the main female character, with the discovery that she liked her rough treatment. In this story, rough behavior and discipline was applied even where the female in question had done nothing wrong.
As far as reading order goes, from having read the first three books, it really should be #1, #3, then #2. The events of these play out in rapid succession with some time overlap in all three books.
I will continue to read these stories, but if I hadn’t read the other two first, I probably wouldn’t continue after this one. YMMV.
I totally forgot I had already read this story so I kinda skimmed over it again to refresh my memory this book was suppose to be about Lannamore the princess that the king sold to the warriors but really the book was mostly about the princess maid...there was so much going on in this story you had the relationship between Varse and Lannamore, Darx and Falice, and Jeckka was on the ship but not really sure if she ended up with anyone...there was a lot of bouncing back and forth between stories and I got lost a couple times never really following the story but in the end it was kind of sweet how it worked out so I would say if you have KU check it out
I'm so hot after reading this book I can't even truly form words. The bonds formed are enough to make a girl just puddle and hope someone is around to lick her up, lol.
I will say that I'm not a fan of the order of these books. I feel like this should have been the 3rd in the series. That's the way if recommend reading them.
Not as good as the first book. We start with the Princess Lana, but then she's just kinda dropped and they go off with a RH of her maid. Which is fine. But the one guy is super rapey. He hurts her and does things to her without her permission and after she says no, but then cuddles afterwards so it's ok? Naw. No bueno. The third girl, the tailor, was just an afterthought. Kind of a bummer.
I was looking for dark and depraved and that is what I got. Read the trigger warnings before you read. If your not into dark spice then stay away. It was a decent story, quick read and hit the spot. I’d like to see more of the characters and get to know them better. I think there was a lot more room for development of relationships and personalities but it was enjoyable for what it was.
This book is confusing and odd. I think the point might be to highlight a different communication style but then again who knows. It's like a mushed togerher trilogy. If this is your first experience with this author don't read this book. Try one of her others cause her books are usually really good. I gave it a three only because I like the author
It felt a bit confusing and incomplete, I didn’t like the jumping between one woman and the other one, because it felt they both didn’t get their story properly explained. The sex was hot and intense.. but I didn’t feel the love. I did tho read it all, so it was interesting enough to keep my attention till the end, i just agree it could be improved.
