Wow, what a great adventures! These are stories filled with love, friendship, action, adventure, magic and some enemies. Wonderful characters in a world slightly different from our own. I really loved this series!
This series was an absolutely thrilling adventure! I liked how each instalment centred around a different group of characters within the same world, but the stories were all linked and converged in that perfect ending! I also loved all of the characters, especially Kinneret and Seren; Kinneret, for being the embodiment of type of woman I aspire to be and Seren, for being so relatable with her self-doubt and lack of confidence. Plus, the plot was full of surprises that kept me feverishly turning the pages; I read the entire series in 12 days with the commitments of birthday celebrations and Christmas preparations! This series is definitely on my list to recommend to friends!
P.S. While reading Forest of Silver and Secrets, I found myself wanting to know more about Oron's past so I would absolutely love if there was a spin-off prequel or something for this character in the future 😊

Uncommon World Series: Waters of Salt and Sin #1 - A well written, fast paced, fun adventure with well developed, likeable characters and a well thought out plot that keeps the reader immersed in the story. The author does a wonderful job with her descriptions. 4*
Fever #2 - A short story to be read after Waters of Salt and Sin. Another well written, interesting story with characters from WoSaS and a well thought out plot to keep the reader reading until the last page. 4*
Plains of Sand and Steel #3 - Another well written, fast paced, adventure with more well developed, likable characters and a well thought out plot that keeps the reader wrapped up in the story. The author paints vibrant scenes with her descriptions. 4*
Forest of Silver and Secrets #4 - This book is just as well written, action packed and interesting as the three books previous to this one. Ms. Klapheke's vivid descriptions, twisting storylines and interesting characters keep the reader immersed in the book. All the books of series run the gamut on emotions and adventures. Her characters never fail to deliver and there's humor, too. Start with the first book Waters of Salt and Sin and have fun and adventure through the series and end with this story. 4* Uncommon World Series End.
The Edinburgh Seer - Another well written, intriguing novel with well developed, interesting characters and a well thought out, twisting plot; all that keep the reader immersed in the pages until the end. Hard to put this book down with the vivid descriptions of unfolding scenes. 4*
I am so excited to see the characters from the first two books and novella back again… IN A BOX SET and with a NEW BOOK! I have enjoyed all of these stories and glad to see them as one full set. The writing is amazing, the settings and characters are vivid and engaging, and I couldn't put them down. It is a fun series that I think every young adult should read. Even if your just young at heart you will enjoy these as their stories are ageless.
Book one Waters of Salt and Sin starts us on the adventure of the magical women of these books. In book one our heroine uses salt magic to help her on her journey and to become the powerful women she is meant to be. Plains of Sand and Steel – book two as I read them- introduces new characters and a new land to explore. The heroine of this book uses chanting magic to help battle the enemy and find herself. In Fever- the novella that ties the first two books together (at least it did for me)- we revisit some of the characters in Waters of Salt and Sand and discover that being put to the test can bring out the strength in us. The final book in this series is my favorite by far. It brings all of these characters that you grow to know and love together in a way that brings all the books into their full power. It is a great journey that this author will take you on with this series.
I actually wrote a review for the first book thinking I would continue that . I was wrong. The books were so seamless and interconnected that I was unable to stop reading them. From the story of Kinneret trying to rescue her sister, to Avi riding to Calev's rescue, to the sweeping story of Seren's fight against herself, tradition, and The Invaders, and culminating with our heroes' battle against a great Tree God, the story grabbed me and pulled me along. I was unable to drag myself away from this book. Experience the adventure of a lifetime and make new friends along the way.
I'm sure there was a central theme somewhere which was supposed to be linking the stories but it had to take second place to the constant desires and fancies of each of the female 'heros'. In amongst the fluttering hearts and illicit desires there were efforts to behave in a suitably heroic fashion. Here is a story of girls who beyond all else are guided by their hearts' desires. Oh yawn! In the end I just skipped through to find the wholly welcome final page with its suitably predictable ending.
This series was AMAZING! I loved their lives, I felt so entangled I couldn't stop. I keep finding myself stopping around 1am (I don't get much time to read with a baby clung to me, judge away) when I have to be up at 6am. Even in my sleep the books continue and take on new twists and turns because my mind just can't stand to be away from the lands so beautifully entwined within the pages!
Come on adventures of these five people who trying to find themselves. Follow Kinneret and Seren as discover the hidden strengths they have inside of them, also Ona who finally realizes who she really is and what is really important to her.
Spectacular! A dazzling adventure fantasy full of suspense, action and romance! I was swept off my feet from the first book. The characters were real and raw so fierce and courageous! I loved reading each of their stories and how it all ties together overall.
In spite of grammatical errors, this was a creative and enjoyable series. I wish that some plot elements hadn’t been left unresolved. A fifth book is needed, although I liked the ending of the fourth book.
Have reviewed each book individually as i read them but i can truly say that this box set is a must for epic fantasy lovers, as it is full of adventure, heroism, loyalty and love and a kick ass heroine or two and lots of humour! These books were a really enjoyable read.
Really enjoyed these boots. They kept me interested in what was going on in the characters were really likeable and well-developed. I really like the fact that there was no profanity at all making it a good read for young and old alike.
I loved the in-depth characters. Each book was a gem. Great world building. Each book has a different heroin which concerned me, but it paid off in the finale. Keneret, Ona and Seren kick butt.
So to get going but I stuck with it but I wished I hadn't. If you like a slow paced love story this is perfect for you but I like a little faster pace story line.
This was a great series with very strong women that come forward in the stories to be main characters. The world was also well crafted. I would love a follow up series to keep it going! Highly recommended !
So, so, so bad. Very interesting world but characters were boring, writing was absolutely terrible. Forced myself to finish the first book but couldn't do anymore.
This series is incredible and has everything you could want in a fantasy story. Klapheke has a unique gift for creating highly detailed and lush worlds that just suck you in and female characters that are strong, independent, and funny. The writing is well-developed with multi-dimensional characters and all the action, adventure, and romance you could want. Each story has left me excited and reeling and I love how it sticks with you long after the last page. I absolutely loved this series and highly recommend it for anyone who loves fantasy!
Waters of Salt and Sin. Kinneret and her sister Avi along with their first mate Oran have had many adventures together this one will be one of their biggest. Kinneret has enough ambition and ability to change many things and her abilities are put to the test when she is looking for the lost island of silver. With a few clues she persuaded her crew and her best friend Calev to help her search for the map. Disaster strikes when her beloved sister is captured. She finally finds the map and her dream of moving up from a low caste to a higher caste are within her reach. Her adventures to obtain all she wishes are awesome reading. Highly recommend. Fever Calev has become engaged to Kinneret, now his father sends him on an important mission to obtain the Kyros’s signature on the agreement between the Old Farm and the Amir. Unfortunately things do not go as planned and Calev ends up in the cells. Meanwhile Avi believes that the only way she can save Kinneret from the fever is to bring Calev home unfortunately she ends up in the cells as well. How they survive is a great short story. Highly recommend. Plains of Sand and Steel We are with a new set of characters who are fighting the common enemy the Invaders. We meet Seren, Pearl of the Desert the Kyros wife, the Kyros Merric who is ill, a host of people who help to run the city of tents. In to the mix two mercenaries arrive, Lucca and Ona, they have come to teach the Kyros troops the Silvanian way of fighting. This method helps make you faster, stronger, able to fight for longer. Many things happen to them. You’ll need to read the book to find out what. Highly recommend. The Forest of Silver and Secrets What seems at first a totally new adventure bring together the characters from the last few novels. Kinneret, Calev and Oran are sent on a mission to speak to the Silvanian King about the invaders. As is to be expected they get into trouble. Oran has been kidnapped and taken into the wicked forest. While our two heroes find Oren they also meet up with Ona and a new character Dante, who saved Ona’s life. There adventure in the forest leads to them nearly losing their lives, they live to fight another day. Thank goodness. I highly recommend this series.
