Yet another great read!
This story, like Ms. Long's other stories kept my interest; has well-defined characters that have connections to previous stories. Another entertaining story of love triumphing over evils in the world. I look forward to her next sorry!
Keep it up, Bev!

Megan North has to hit the road in order to attend various openings of her boutique fashion business, which has four stores across the country. Her sister, Abigail, hires security for her in the form of Seth Pike, from Wingman Security. Megan has had some mysterious incidents occur to her, such as a man following her. As they go through the itinerary, other mysterious and ominous incidents occur, so Seth must protect her and figure out who is out to get her.
This one is just painfully, painfully dull. It gets off to a rocky start when we meet the h and H and all of Wingman Security, their wives or girlfriends, and how they're all connected, and it's very confusing and boring and unnecessary. And it just gets worse and much more tedious from there. Megan and Seth go to a boutique, attend various events associated with the opening, something ominous may or may not happen. Rinse and repeat. Megan is constantly questioning Seth as to why he will do certain security things when they arrive at a new location. It's his job, Megan! Just let him do it, for pity's sake! The dialogue between Megan and Seth, which is actually quite sparse, is often cringeworthy. I didn't sense any connection between them at all. I have no idea what Seth found so captivating about Megan. There is also lots of inane chatter about food. Leave that to Carol Ericson, please!
I quite enjoyed the first book in the series, with its well-defined romance and twisty plot. This was a flat, boring snoozefest and a real slog to get through.

Nobody expects Harlequins to be perfect. They're frequently abbreviated - minimal character development, hasty resolution after drawn out tension. This book has none of that. It's nicely crafted tale with good pacing, a complete resolution, and even some depth to the characters. It's the extras that make the story - the sister with her own story, not just a sidekick, and the hero who plays a beta role with believable chagrin. Particularly like the ending where the bad guys get theirs, but the loose threads aren't left hanging. A fun story and a well-written tale!

This one was okay. The characters are strong but the plot line was lacking a bit.
